The Skill Hunter title track is a character-based, campaign-specific title earned by acquiring all elite skills found in that campaign. The Legendary Skill Hunter title track is completed by completing all the Skill Hunter title tracks. These titles can be displayed in the "Honor" monument.

[edit] Acquisition
Simply acquiring an elite skill will contribute to the appropriate title track. Prior to the Nightfall campaign and later, the hard mode update, the only way to acquire an elite skill was to capture it using a Signet of Capture. The introduction of Elite Skill Tomes now allows characters to acquire elite skills that have already been unlocked.
[edit] Notes
- Currently, there are 294 elite skills in the game. The PvE-only ones do not count for the title.
- Campaign-specific elites count towards that continent's title only. There are 60 Prophecies-only elites to be captured in Tyria, 90 Factions-only elites in Cantha, and 110 Nightfall-only elites in Elona.
- You must have Ascended, become Weh no Su, or have completed the quest Hunted! to capture elites from other secondary professions.
- A great way to start is by capturing all the core skills, which count 30 points for every title.
- Hunting monsters and capturing their skills also gets you a good amount of Cartographer points, since many monsters are 'hidden' in places that are hard to find or get to.
Although after the August 7, 2008 update, the Lightbringer Signet no longer counts as an Elite Skill in the Nightfall campaign, it is still displayed in the "Titles" tab as one for those who achieved the rank before the update, making it look like: "Elonian Elite Skill Hunter (141/140)".
[edit] Trivia
- Before the hard mode update, there was only one Skill Hunter title track, progressing from Skill Hunter → Adept Skill Hunter → Advanced Skill Hunter → Elite Skill Hunter → Expert Skill Hunter → Master Skill Hunter. Master Skill Hunter was never achievable as there was an insufficient amount of elite skills in the game at that time.
- Prior to the game August 7, 2008 update, the Lightbringer Signet counted towards the Elonian Skill Hunter track, even though it is not obtained through the use of a Signet of Capture. It is the reward for obtaining the Brave Lightbringer title.
