[edit] Notes
- This skill overrides any existing modifiers, including: skills that boost elemental attributes (e.g. Elemental Lord), runes, Weakness and consumables (e.g. Candy Corn).
- Any of the above bonuses will take effect if they are applied after Master of Magic (e.g. remove/reapply a rune or armor piece after casting).
- Renewing Master of Magic whilst under the attribute boosting modifiers will retain the higher attribute ranks and not reset them to the rank predicted by Master of Magic.
- Journey to the North takes precedence, setting only one attribute to 12 (and any others to 9). [verification requested]
- The most effective uses of this skill are:
- To boost the effectiveness of low-level characters, since it can be maintained at rank 3.
- To maximize the strength of Prismatic Insignia (raising an elementalist's armor by 20).
- To enable an elementalist with a warrior or paragon secondary to take full advantage of shields (since this can free enough attribute points to meet minimum requirements).
- To free up attribute points for builds that draw on several elementalist attributes and one or more secondaries.
- The amount of energy regained is rounded down; for example, a 5 energy spell returns 1 energy instead of 1.5 energy.
[edit] Trivia
- The staff being held by the figure in the skill icon appears to be an Accursed Staff.
- Master of Magic was a best-selling strategy game published by MicroProse on 3.5" floppy disks in 1994.
- There is a NPC in the Isle of the Nameless with the same name.
