[edit] Walkthrough
For this mission, all members of the party will be buffed with Sunspear Battle Call, which increases maximum health and armor (but not attribute points) to the equivalent of a level 20 character. This can assist lower-level players to get through the mission more easily.
Leave the boat and head to the left. You will launch straight into fighting the Kournans alongside your Sunspear allies. Be wary when you approach groups of Kournan Bowmen situated at the top of stairs. Often their attacks will focus on one target, making them deadly to those who are unprepared. If you are a spellcaster, try to approach from behind walls if you can and use skills which reduce bow damage or prevent bow attacks from hitting you.
Once you've killed the bowmen here (1 on the map), go down the stairs and towards the gate. Captain Lumanda (2) is the gate guard who is able to call in reinforcements. The easiest strategy is to kill her before eliminating the rest of the Kournans to open the gate into the next area. The other option, kill all the enemy reinforcements before facing the boss alone, will work almost as well, but it does run the risk of more reinforcements being called down. For extra help, you can pull the enemy reinforcements up the stairs and the nearby Sunspear Rangers will attack them.
In the next area, your reinforcements are trapped behind some flaming catapult traps (3). Kill the enemies in this area and then the Kournan Engineers to allow your reinforcements through. Speak to Nerashi to launch the next stage of the mission. Speak to Nerashi, Lonai and Rojis if you wish for them to follow and assist you.
Continue forward, killing Kournans as you find them. Only by eliminating all enemies in this area will you capture the bombards (4) to allow you to open the next gate. Beyond the gate is the next named boss, Captain Mwende, stationed with four Elite Kournans.
Travel up the stairs and follow the left wall -- beware the Kournan Bowmen, just like at the very beginning of the mission-- killing Kournans on the way until you reach the main square to complete the mission.
[edit] Bonus
There are three Kournan Field Commander groups which you have to kill to obtain masters for this mission. These groups are located as yellow markers on the map provided. Like all Field Commanders, they will call down a Kournan Siege upon the entire party if they are not interrupted quickly.
The first is to the left at top of the first set of stairs that you come across, before the gate guard. The second is situated on the wall if you walk on past the bombards, so capture the bombards and head for this group before you take on the elementalist boss. The final group is to the right at the top of the first stairs near the end of the mission. Don't go left first by mistake or you could accidentally finish the mission before you're able to complete the bonus.
[edit] Skill recommendations
- Stance breaking skills, such as Wild Blow, or skills that can bypass blocking to use against the Kournan Bowman, who use Whirling Defense. Using offensive spells or hexes, such as Spiteful Spirit, will make facing the Kournan Bowman much easier without having to use a stance breaker like Wild Blow.
- Skills which defend against ranged attacks, such as "Shields Up!", or provide damage reduction over time, such as Shielding Hands are useful.
- All the enemies you will face will leave exploitable corpses, so minion masters should be able to create a substantial force to overwhelm the soldiers.

- Lonai: "Of course. You heard the Spearmarshal!"
When approaching the eastern gate.
- <party leader>: "Rojis! What can we do to break down these walls?"
- Rojis: "Not much, I'm afraid. They've got heavier artillery than we do."
- Dunkoro: "I have a plan. We can capture that Kournan bombard. They haven't fully set it up, and it's still facing their gate!"

- <party leader>: "Good work all around, Dunkoro."

- Warmarshal Varesh: "Set up defensive positions at the Plaza of the Five Gods!"

- Dunkoro: "Those Kournan spotters are coordinating the siege attacks on our ships. If we can eliminate some of them, our landing troops will have an easier time."
After Captain Kavaka and his group are defeated.
- Dunkoro: "Then why push forward?"
- Kormir: "We must take the brunt of Varesh's dark magic."
- Kormir: "We must be the ones to protect Elona."
[edit] End Cinematic
- <party leader>: "Spearmarshal Kormir!"
- Kormir: "Good to see you, Captain. Varesh has holed up here with her followers."
- Kormir: "Now that you're here, we can make the assault!"
- Kormir: "Sunspears! At the ready! Spare those who surrender! Now, in the name of the Five Gods, forward!"
- Prophet Varesh: "Fools! Your gods are weak!"
- Prophet Varesh: "My god gives me strength! Abaddon!"
- Dunkoro: "Gods! She has demons!"
- Kormir: "Regroup! Fall back! Don't let them get behind you!"
- Kormir: "Blast! We're outmatched! Retreat! Save those you can!"
- Prophet Varesh: "Abaddon will feast on your eyes!"
- <party leader>: "Kormir!"
- Dunkoro: "Come on! Save who you can!"

[edit] Notes
- Upon completion of the mission, players will find themselves in Yohlon Haven.
- Directly before completion of the mission, Koss will turn unavailable until completion of the quest The Great Escape.
- Just before the final cinematic, a large group of allied NPCs spawns. These NPCs are called Demon and strangely enough resemble Sunspear Rangers.
- Since the 13 November 2008 update you now gain 10 Sunspear title points for each level of completion in Normal Mode and 60 in Hard Mode, as well as the normal xp and gold rewards.
- After this mission nearly every single boss has an Elite Skill.
