[edit] Questions

If anyone has questions pertaining to Guild Wars, ask them here. I will do my best to answer them. I will not, however, answer questions like "can you give me free money?" and the like. so keep it clean, keep it thoughtful, and just ask away, I guess... Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:41, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Just for the sake of it, Can you give me free money? --Warwick (Talk) (Contr.) 00:37, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
heh, I have no money anyways :D Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:41, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image

I'm having a problem doing a redirect on my signature image. it seems to dissapear every time I add it. If someone could help me on this, that'd be nice. Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:43, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Never mind, fixed it. Cursed Wiki code...now, is there a way to embed this image with your singature without having to type out the file link time after time? Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:52, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. Go to My Preferences in the top right corner. Check the Raw Signatures box, and insert the signature code in the box above it. Then, signing with 4 tildes (~) will give Wandering Traveler. Calor Talk 22:29, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Aha! that did it. Many thanks. Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 22:46, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Comfort Animal

Rampage as One Rangers are the only things that use pets in high level pvp, the only reason they bring Comfort Animal is so they can follow it with RaO, without regard for keeping their pet alive (if the pet dies too quickly after a res, nothing gets disabled.) The blackout I want to put on comfort would prevent those builds from being able to shrug off their pets as "extra baggage," and instead force them to actively heal their pets. In essence, it will give those builds a penalty for letting a "teammate" die. ~Shard (talk / Nerf List) 01:49, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Concise Descriptions

You have been editing for 2 hours. Please take a break. (el oh el) --Underwood 01:38, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

ow...I know....let me finish up the skills I have for wilderness survival and I will :P Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 01:40, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok since I prolly won't be on at that time here's a couple of tips :P
*Durations and maximums enclosed with brackets have periods outside of the parenthesis' unless it's at the beginning of the skill. This is commonly seen in stances and preparations.
*Show preview first to make sure no brackets and what not are out of place.
*When a condition is inflicted via a skill its in past tense or present (i.e. Inflicts Poisoned/Crippled or Burning/Blindness)
^ And that's all I have to point out right now. Happy editing :D --Underwood 02:05, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Character Templates

Are u using my exactly or are you trying to use mine as a basis to make yur own? --Shadowphoenix 19:27, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lensor

Hey can u put "& lensor" beside my name where you put credit, Thanks --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 19:54, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Well technically if you wanna be even more accurate, the character tables were thought of and designed by Lensor and adapted by Shadow. Anyway only posting as you may find this user box i made, handy in giving credit:
The ever fabulous user pages of Lensor and Shadow Phoenix, helped inspire this page.

Anyhoo enjoy. -- Salome 03:57, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] So i herd

You got Grinch in trouble. Epic fail sir. You bastard, what gives you the right to tell people what they can and cant have on their usepage, you dont have to look at it if you dont want to? Why the hell did you think it was good to go trolling around the pvx trying to be an admin when you clearly stated in your post that you are not. To be sure i will post what ever I damn well please on my talk page userpage w/e and if people are offended by it then there is a little X in the corner of your screen that I advise you to click on. Good bye sir, as I'll probably get reported and banned for this. GFF MIRTE?--Shadowsin 03:19, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Yup you probably will -- Salome 04:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, adn btw me & Fighterdoken got him in trouble not Wandering Travler ^-^ --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 04:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Good lord there are a lot of theatrics around here. Can't you just shrug off the original offending comment? Why bother giving him the attention? Clearly it was just a short rant by someone not worthy of the attention this issue has now garnered. Sorry, nevermind; this is just asking for more theatrics. Don't mind me. I need to think a bit longer before I post. - THARKUN 05:03, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] that 'perverted' story

Not to cause more trouble, but I have a complaint about your complaints regarding the story on grinsh (or whatever)'s user page and now on his friend's. Namely, I think labeling it 'perverted' muddles the issue, since you're then branding anyone who supports it (though presumably for reasons of freedom rather than a particular liking of the story) a pervert as well. This isn't conducive to a reasonable discussion on the issue. If you find the story off color or what have you, that's fine, but I don't think the pejorative language is helpful. (though I suppose if you see no redeeming value to it or the freedom to post it, then that's your call. Personally, though, I'm a policy-libertarian). - THARKUN 05:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

The point is it does not belong here plain and simple. I am actually drafting a policy at the moment for situations just like this one. --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 05:16, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
he's right, in a sense. I was more relating to the actual content of the story, not the people in itself. I'll have to be more careful in my accusations >.< --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 05:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Well I'm hopeing when my draft is finished it will be accepted --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 05:18, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
lets hope so.... --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 05:19, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Yay, a policy! How does it differ from the user policy? The justification given by Brains when he wiped the page and issued the warning was that it fit within the 'offensive' clause of the userpage policy. While I personally don't think its a big deal - as you can always stop reading, and the content is pretty clear early on - I also fail to see the need for a policy to cover this specific issue... unless you insist on absolute policy literalism and deny admin interpretation of existing rules. (then again, we can debate this on the policy talk page too if you prefer) - THARKUN 05:22, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
It is actually a new version of GWW:USER which makes it more specfic to that nature. --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 05:24, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
thats good. it was hard enough trying to find reasoning in the old one....lets hope this one goes through. --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 05:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I don't know.. I think the reasoning is there if one wants to find it. I just think the first admin or two on the case didn't want to act. At least, that was my impression from the logs and from reading the policy. Still, I suppose clarity never hurt anything - as long as the flexibility is preserved as well. - THARKUN 05:32, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Is just a matter of policy lawyering. Current policies (and GFDL) would be put at troubles if one were to remove content just because someone doesn't like it, so the "offensive" part has to be called, but that does require the case to be reviewed by a sysop who thinks the content may be deemed offensive. A different case is if Emmily confirms that the Rules of Conduct for Guild Wars (and its websites) are to be followed by this site. Until then, is just a matter of good will by the sysops.--Fighterdoken 05:35, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
That is why i am redoing the policy, it should be made known that this is not acceptable here on Guild Wars Wiki --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 05:46, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) You may want to use parts of the GW rules of conduct for content restriction on userpages, since that is where the current hole is, and most of them are pretty obvious anyways.--Fighterdoken 05:50, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Its me. Perhaps you should look into deodorant? Just a helpful tip from the downwind. warning: this message may not be entirely serious - THARKUN 01:45, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
....I'm confused now. --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 01:46, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm just being random, taking credit for things I had nothing to do with, and trying (but failing) to make a joke out of them. - THARKUN 04:27, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
lol, I see. carry on then :P --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 05:47, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

Hey Wandering Traveler, at the moment your userpage is being placed into the User templates category due to the inclusion of the code
<noinclude></noinclude> under your userboxes. To fix this simply remove each instance of that code including the noinclude tags; at the moment there are 21 instances; since they aren't needed on the actual userpage. --Kakarot Talk 19:06, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

whoa, thanks. I have no idea how that happened. Thank you. --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 21:34, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Happy to help :) --Kakarot Talk 01:38, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again but I noticed a slight error in one of your userboxes. In the third one; the Prepared Shot one; the info is presently 55px which results in 55px, to fix this simply remove the |55px part of it. --Kakarot Talk 14:30, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Gah, I can't seem to anything right. I'll fix that ASAP. --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 23:09, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

and on a side note, that reminds me to change my message on there. I'm kinda copying you on that, but.....ya. thats the last thing I'll take, I promise >.< --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
its ok dont worry about it :). Get well soon! :o) --Shadowphoenix Image:User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 04:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:03, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GWW:NOTICE

Just so you know for future reference, vandal reports go from top down, not other way around. — Eloc 04:03, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

gah, so it doesnt work like talk pages and the like? I'll keep that in mind. thank you >.< --Image:User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 04:04, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] sig test

--Image:User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 04:26, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I like the new sig. Looks more original than Ranger :D — Eloc 15:17, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
lol, thanks. I got kinda tired of the original as well :P --Image:User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 15:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I like how you coloured it, what program did you use for that? — Eloc 15:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I used an online image editor. their website is found here. I just told it to add a sephia tone to the image, and voila! worked like a charm. I'm not sure how far you can go into it with editing, but it got me what I wanted :P --Image:User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 15:54, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
