Resurrect spell
Why can't my heroes ressurect me? I resurrect briefly with no energy before falling down again! Thanks Jen
- We need more information about the circumstances: like which mission or explorable area your party was in when your heroes attempted to res your char, how much DP you have, which heroes you had with you and which res skills they carried. The Resurrection article summarizes the behaviour of various res skills and circumstances that can affect resurrection.--DaveBaggins 11:01, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer. The Resurrection article didn't help I was in the Iron Mines of Moladune Mission ( Prophecies) and it happened with human players yesterday and with heroes today (in the same Mission). The other players couldn't understand it. They eventually rezed me perhaps by changing spells. My heroes were Dunkoro, Ogden Stonehealer and Tahikora. They were all using the core monk spell Resurrect (picture a flying angel) but I certainly had 60% DP at the time. Eventually I was healed by non monk hero with Resurrection Signet Jen
- You also could be resurrecting with very low health while holding a vampiric weapon. But as Dave said, we need more information before we can help. G R E E N E R 15:21, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
I wasn't holding a Vampiric weapon
- Certain resurrection skills can "auto-kill" your character if your character has too much DP and have little health to begin with. This is especially a problem with characters using 55-builds. Consider using a res skill like Resurrection Chant over Resurrect. If we are talking about Iron Mines of Moladune (and later missions in Prophecies) make sure all your character's armour is infused against Spectral Agony.--DaveBaggins 16:44, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Will do Jen

gaining levels
how do i get higher than twentieth level please? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.162.62.246 (talk • contribs) at 00:37, 2 May 2011 (UTC).
- You don't That's the level cap. You can still buy more skills and try to improve your build and general knowledge of the game to get better. — Poki#3 (talk) 23:17, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
- That's one of Guild Wars's prime selling points, actually. Neither PvP or PvE are about grinding up levels, or finding better equipment so that you can win. Instead, it's much more tactical and (arguably), more skill based than that. Rather than awarding players for dedicating time to the game, it awards players for understanding game mechanics, understanding their skill set, understanding the skills that exist in general, and making split-second decisions (among many other things, of course). If you're after a game that rewards leveling up, I suggest you try something like Final Fantasy 14, or World of Warcraft. Ryuu - lol wiki 23:49, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

How can I raise up the Ebon Vanguard Title Track faster? I want to know because I have had a hard time getting the title higher. 99.252.163.223 20:47, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Probably the most helpful resource on this wiki I can refer you to is the acquisition section of the Ebon Vanguard rank article. There's some farming location/method suggestions documented there. Ryuu - lol wiki 21:19, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Guild Announcement Name is "wrong"?
It may sound silly but when I was a young one and started playing guild wars a had a character named "mister x" we'll call him. I created a second character "mister y" and quickly realized I liked him much better. I've since deleted X, but now that I'm a guild officer and leave Guild announcements they still say they are from Mister X. Problem is that no one knows who Mister X is and I think you can quickly see where this is going. From what I can tell this is an account based thing? His name still pops up in a few other places, but I really don't want it to. Is there away I can completely get Mister X to go bye-bye and have it correctly display as Mister Y? I'm terribly sorry if this is an NCSoft or Arena net question, I don't ask for help often, and I'm not sure where the line is. If I did wrong please just point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance, -- Makai 00:09, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Regardless of who you're logged into, guild announcements will always appear to be written by the character name you were invited into that guild as. That being said, all you need to do is leave your guild and have someone re-invite you as "mister y" 161.184.140.160 00:13, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'll give that a whirl, Thanks, --Makai 00:32, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

hi acording to wiki u can enter the lucky and unlucky titles in to the honor in the HOM if you are tier 2 or more how do u display them in Honor in the HOM please--2.27.244.238 20:16, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- If you have achieved tier two or more in those titles, interact with the pedestal in front of the Honour display. This pedestal lets you change which statues/titles you show, and in what arrangement they appear. G R E E N E R 23:16, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
Obtaining Then and Now, Here and There
Hello, I'm not sure if I'm posting this on the right area, if so then please let em know where to place it.. The thing is I saw that at the Then and Now, Here and There quest it said that a none prophecy character couldnt get it even with the tapestry shred. However I did this quest on my Ritualist months ago. The char was made at the release of factions so maybe that was the reason? or was this just some fortunate bug for me? I dont got any of it anymore so unfortunately I cant try it on my other old chars too see if it works again. Anyway, I would just like to know if this was a lucky bug for me or if is possible for any old none prophecy characters... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Kilaa1000 (talk).
- It's possible it was a bug, but one of the developers confirmed (on the talk page) that it does indeed require a Prophecies character. -- FreedomBound 17:57, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Year six miniatures
Wiki shows only miniatures up through year 5 (Added April 2010) Does anyone know what the year 6 miniatures are or even if they created new miniatures for year 6 ? --67.41.206.97 16:05, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Alas, only everlasting tonics for year six; no minis. See: Birthday Present#Sixth birthday for details. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. Now I AM disappointed. I collect miniatures, but as I understand, the everlasting tonics do not even give party points. At least the tonics one gets from Nick are useful in that respect. *sigh* --67.41.206.97 16:42, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Since EL tonics are re-usable, it hardly seems fair to have them help you towards Party Animal. And they can be used in explorable areas (imagine looking like Gwen and trailing a mini-Gwen along). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:12, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- I soloed Shiro as Shiro (e/me). Totally epic. But yeah for the miniatures lovers it is kinda sad that they stopped doing that. Though I understand that WiK is going to have new mini's (forgive me if im wrong bout that). And the EL tonics are awesome as well^^.
- It's not the same. Lots of people (like me) don't give two ____s about tonics, but have always been interested in what the next year's miniatures will be. Now the tradition is broken and we are left disappointed without hope for repair in sight. Things like nerfing and exploitable bug fixes make sense, because they serve a purpose and there is reason behind them. But this... this is just a malicious slap in the face.
- It's like turning an annual "Feed the poor" open banquet into an annual "Give the poor mirrors." wake. Teddy Dan 17:35, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well they did have a point when they said that minis would have to become less and less cool, because all the good ones were slowly being used up. I also don't care much for tonics usually, but these are everlansing, and I can use them outside towns. It's something different. I like it. — Poki#3 (talk) 00:40, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- While I admit that running around with a full Kuunavang party (plus Kuunavang minis and Celestial Dragon summons), or full destroyer party with minis while killing destroyers (in such places as Glint's Challenge, no less), would be amusing... that amusement would be brief at best. You do it once: "Wow, this is SO epic!!!!!one". You do it twice: "See? I told you it's awesome!". You do it five+ times: "Okay, what else does it do? Nothing? Lame." At least miniatures influence some skills/effects, allegedly drop rates and are dedicate-able to the HoM. Tonics? Yeah, not a single benefit outside of maybe ____s and giggles. I would like to point out that I'm not wholly purposely derailing this discussion. It really should be closed, considering the original subject question (and subsequent relevant question) has been answered. That said, continuation of the for/against discussion should probably be moved to somebody's talk page or the Tonic talk page. Teddy Dan 04:06, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Codex Arena
- Question
- If I have 4 accounts, and my friend has 4 accounts, and no one is at Codex Arena (the countdown has been resetting for 1+ hours), is ok to enter a match for the purpose of 1) gaining rank 3 for purpose of HoM, and 2) get a rank 3 so that those rank hunting elitist exlusive PvP-club members stop dropping me from the party for failing to display a minimum prerequisite of rank 3 within 5 seconds, or 3) just get a match going so the stupid resetting countdown would stop driving me crazy.
- Reason
- Im not a cheater and I never afk, leave, leech, resign, sync, etc. and play honorably as Baltahzar inteneded until the match is over. But it doesnt help that 90% of my wins occure within the first 4 rounds, meaning I spend a great deal of time PvPing with little to show for it title wise. I RA alot and won enough victories to unlocked everything but only can only recall 1 or 2 10 win streak (back before they it changed to current 5 point system); and unlike back then, i dont have alot of freetime for PvPing, so now im often called a noob by random RA jerks due to my low rank, even those with ranks who could only have gotten thier's by syncing (either that or they have no life); and yes ive been killed by synced teams ALOT before achieving my 5th win. Currently its difficult to get into a decent team in CA due to the fact that they use rank as a measure of skill; The 24/7 ranked teams snag PuG vets with high ranks, then proceed to stomp-on and demoralize the non-ranked/ inexperienced codex-weekenders out for zaishen combat (ala the rich gets richer, and the poor gets poorer).

- I believe Gaile has said this is considered cheating, even though your heart is pure. I'll look around for a quote, b/c I am sure she was asked about this kind of thing before. I recommend avoiding it in the meantime. Soz. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:43, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- This was as close to your question as I found; I'm not sure whether I was thinking of this post or another.)
- Oversimplifying your question, you are basically asking if it's okay if you rig a match so that either your team or your friend's is guaranteed to win consecutively. It's hard to see how that fits within the spirit of the EULA/fair play rules. In real life, you could avail yourself of a lawyer to argue that ANet all but encourages this type of behavior (for the reasons you state). In Guild Wars, however, ANet is the judge, jury, and executioner and, based on their previous responses, I can't imagine that they would allow this type of behavior to go on. Personally, I wouldn't take the chance. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:22, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- From Guild Wars Rules of Conduct: "24. While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people's game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching." --Silver Edge 09:27, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

- Can they at least change the rules so others can gain real traction in Codex title with each victory, like you gain 1 point each win, 5 each five consecutive wins, 10 each 10 consecutive wins, etc.? At times it seems like a double standard that I already see insanely competative teams (who have no life) with r11 literally farming off the double-weekenders/zaishen-questers. And because I neglected to forfiet my life and excusively play Codex for the first several months, Ive been unofficially banned from competative play for not meeting the minimum requirement of rank 3 threshold... Know what, im posting a feedback page on this now. --Falconeye 19:50, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- Everyone has had to suffer -r8 leprosy at some point. They all got over it, somehow. One tip is to only Codex with friends, guildies, allies or other people who are less likely to boot you because of your rank. You're still going to see the trash talk about your rank because it's an easy target and the average PvPer is an obnoxious internet toughguy. Turn off Local chat and, again, play with people who know how to behave like adults. If you can't rope together enough people on a regular basis to do so, there are plenty of PvP-centric guilds and alliances who cycle Codex noobs through the ranks on a regular basis. I'm in neither such a guild or alliance nor am I interested in PvP that doesn't influence my PvE experience, but I'm sure there's a page on this wiki somewhere that lists PvP-centric guilds or at least something close. Teddy Dan 22:56, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- PvP titles and rewards will be altered in an upcoming PvP update as mentioned in the most recent Developer update: "The Flux system is the precursor to several improvements that will be coming in a PvP-specific update. We'll be taking a look at improving some titles, the incentives to play, the rewards for various formats, and more." --Silver Edge 04:59, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Manual disconnect before entering Droknars Forge (Explorable Area)
Finished Hell's Precipice for the first time, but during loading for Droknars Forge (Explorable Area) it got so slow loading, stuck at 99%, kept reconnecting to server. I could browse, other internet activities were not slow. Got fed up, closed the game. Reentered game with the character and I find myself respawned at Hell's Precipice, with Hard Mode opened. Graphics bugged somehow
im having 1920x1080 resolution 4x anti alias and everything on high BUT my graphics look like shit, i used to have really good looking graphics like full hd lookin but now somehow all the textures look like shit all my characters armors look almost shitty as they would look if i had 800x600 resolution and all on low it still looks same as having all on high also i see textures on ground like chessboard with really blurry textures, i have tried everything except re-installing the game since i dont want to wait for like another 10h to play GW --88.112.138.72 13:24, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Resolution and AA level have nothing to do with texture quality. The chessboard texture you're seeing is likely a problem with your graphics driver or graphics card. Try reinstalling your graphics drivers. A screenshot of what your game looks like might also be helpful. ~Shard 08:23, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Here is pics from my armor and ground [1][2]
- That looks like low settings to me, but you say the settings are maxed. I don't see any corrupted graphics (Like polygons elongating or weird textures), so it doesn't seem like your card is broken. If the settings really are maxed, then, my best guess is the .DAT file is corrupted (With a very weird corruption, at that). I'd recommend running the game with the -image command. Check here for instructions: Command line arguments. -- Large 13:38, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- i have now tried -Image and -repair command none of them worked -image downloaded about 1.6gb files and i also updated my graphics drivers but its still not working. --88.112.138.72 21:17, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
[3] Here is my graphics settings all in high as you can see --88.112.138.72 22:45, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- If you have a program that takes care of your graphics card (ATI cards usually do), a feature in there might be conflicting with what GW is trying to do. Try going into your graphics card settings (ATI's is Catalyst control center, idk what NVidia's is) and disable everything, or click the "use application settings" options for each feature. ~Shard 04:54, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
I changed all settings from ati ccc to use application settings and also tried by turning them all on but didnt work at all still looks the same --Lucronis 10:15, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
YaY! now it finally works like it should be i asked my friend if he know any solution and said that i should delete all my graphic drivers so i used ATI's own program to delete those and also Driver Cleaner then downloaded and installed new ones again and now it fixed it. Here is also pic from it [4] --Lucronis 13:05, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Jokanur Diggings Bonus
The walkthrough advice on the Jokanur Diggings Bonus seems to vary from the Program requirements. Do you have to avoid harming the Sunspear Ghosts altogether and do you lose the bonus if Kadash dies? Wnen I played I kept the ghosts alive although Kadash was killed but resurrected himself. The program result failed me the Bonus because two ghosts were harmed but did not mention Kadash. Jay
- Did you see the bug note? "If the player activates the Trial of Perseverance then runs back and stays in the area of the Trial of Fire, Kahdash will finish placing the Stone Tablet on the pedestal but will die immediately after the cinematic. This counts as a Sunspear Ghost death towards the bonus objective." — Jokanur Diggings#Notes Arguably, Kahdash dying represents missing a primary requirement, so it should count as dropping the mission (which would prevent completion of the bonus). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 08:44, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Thans for the notes about Kadash. Do the two Sunspear ghosts have to survive unharmed or just stay alive? Jay
- They just have to stay alive. Since Kormir will follow you around, she tries to kill them with her spear when you get too close. Make sure you lead her away from them before they die and you'll be ok. 76.164.71.104 14:05, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
