Increased level?

→ Moved from Talk:Gwen (Prophecies)

The notes say that her level can increase with experience and she will heal more damage.

What contributes to her experience?  I have had her along on everything from level 1 of my character through level 10 and level 11 and she was still level 1.  I am beginning to believe her level increase is a myth.      mtew 10:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I've never seen any evidence that she levels up, or that she ever heals more than 20 health, so yes, I think the claim is completely false. I'd like to see some evidence if anyone disagrees. I'm wondering why nobody else has commented on this, since the edit took place over a year ago. 76.88.114.182 04:43, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
More than a myth seems like a Hoax. First time I heard of that, and ALL my 6 pre-Searing character bring her at all times anywhere they go. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 00:13, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Introduction

→ Moved from Talk:Gwen (Prophecies)

"Gwen is a bright, inquisitive 10 year-old girl"...? Really? I know we're all terribly fond of Gwen, but "bright" and "inquisitive" aren't the first terms that spring to mind when I think of her. "Average daydreamer" sounds more accurate. :p --Mme. Donelle 17:10, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Hard choice

→ Moved from Talk:Gwen (Prophecies)
My favorite 2 guild wars characters are Gwen (age 10, not depressing Gwen) and Cynn. Cynn's description said that when her home was invaded by charr, they planned to eat her. Cynn had different plans. She turned them and her house into a pile of ashes ;). It's a really really hard choice, so i think i'll consider them tied. Anyone else have an opinion on this matter?

I intend to bother Gaile about the English manual being released as a PDF sometime soon, since most players will be using the online store for the bonus pack promotion and won't recieve the physical manual, and there's also the fact that the Chinese now have a massive amount of information more than us, and people shouldn't get exclusives so big like that just because of the language they speak. --Santax (talk · contribs) 15:07, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Gwen should have been either a monk, or an ele. think about it. In presearing she healed players after giving her the flute. (she didn't heal WITH the flute, she healed you because you gave her the flute.)

in the beta she nuked towns. (keke)

like, nice continuity Anet.
BuG 17:52, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't mention continuity if you're going to bring up the whole spontaneous combustion thing. I doubt that Gwen destroying Ascalon for a second time would be considered canon. --Santax (talk · contribs) 17:58, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
She was also never classed as a monk in pre. Should could have been a Me/Mo with enough ranks of fast casting so that we never noticed she was casting orison. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 18:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Lets look at the quote now shall we.
"When I grow up, I'm going to be a hero like my daddy. I'd like to be a warrior, but the mesmers' outfits are nicer, don't you think?"
I don't even see monk mentioned there. Just because she can thrown out the odd heal as an 8 year old has no bearing on what profession she would be as a grown up. I don't think continuity is an issue. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 18:11, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

tapestry shred and just being plain nice??

→ Moved from Talk:Gwen (Eye of the North)

i have one character that has recieved a tapestry shred and i am almost certain it would have some use in the the expansion giving it to gwen. But i am uncertain that me buying it with my main character ( whom i was pressurised by a friend to go through pre-searing as quick as possibe with him annd completely ignored her) would be enough, and actually needed her to be a new best friend and follow me around everywhere to get additional benefit???

Spoiler Tags

Should Gwen's article, here in particular, and other heros, locations etc all have spoiler tags? Some of the info here tells people what Gwen has been up to and alludes to her recruitment, I know pages like this should be identified by common sense as high risk of spoilers but a tag won't hurt. With Red Iris Flowers and Tapestry Shred. "I appreciate that you kept these relics of my past, but we must put them aside for now. The Ebon Vanguard needs us." With Red Iris Flowers or Tapestry Shred. "I can't believe you held on that for so many years. But, with the Ebon Vanguard missing, my own past must be put aside for now. We'll have time for this matter after my friends are rescued."

Anyone seen the effects of having all 4/5 items??

My friend and I tried the Gwen's Broken Flute in combinations with Tapestry Shred and Red Iris Flowers but it didn't seem to make any difference so I assumed that it wasn't being checked.

Before Friday I'm planning on getting the Small Girl's Cape, Flute and Preserved Red Iris Flower and trying those in combinations with everything else. Does anyone have any suggestions of other items? If anyone has a Tattered Girl's Cape I'd love for them to try that. - Fenyx 14:45, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, I tried Gwen's Broken Flute again and it still had no effect. But I also tried Preserved Red Iris Flower and I didn't get the text that Gal Actus added for them. (I got the same that I got for Tapestry Shred or Red Iris Flower). Could someone double check me on this? Thanks. Fenyx 13:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

I tested each item separately; Gwen’s Broken Flute (from pre), no reaction or quests. The Tapestry Shred & Iris Flower or Preserved Iris Flower performed as specified. Any ideas as to what the broken flute is far?Ken 19:14, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
To get Fire and Pain you need either a Red Iris Flower, Preserved Iris Flower, or the Broken Flute from post searing. This is for all chars (Prophecies may not be able to). Then and Now, Here and There you MUST be a Prophecies character WITH the Tapestry Shred. Also to get either quest you must finish The Missing Vanguard. I updated this on the article page as well. I dunno, I just don't see it. Gwen has a round face, Lady has a triangular face. Gwen has a small straight nose, Lady has a fairly large "Greek" nose with the bump and flared nostrils. Gwen has tight thin lips, Lady has "butterfly" lips. Gwen has slightly Asian looking slanted eyes, Lady has large round eyes. Um... I guess their eyebrows look similar? User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 17:40, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

The lady of shallot, by the angle of her face, would seem that she has different features. However, in account the actual anatomy of the basic human skull, you'd place the same stream of muscles together with both Gwen and Waterhouse's illustration. Gwen, the character, actually does have 'butterfly lips' as you call them however due to the skinning of the three dimensional graphics it is less apparent. Seriously, Rose of Kali. It seems that your main purpose in these debates is to rag on the character Gwen as much as possible and put down any speculations that can be made from the people who actually like her. My anonymous advice to you is to get over your personal hatred and... learn art at least.

don't ya' just love those anime like couples soo much like Shinji and Asuka or...Misty and Ash XD plus war bloodshed and loss of their lives Zachariah Zuan. 22:14, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

I was in the HoM today and Thackeray came in and asaked her how to make a healing infusion... She went on about ingredients and recipes (all of which they had except Jacaranda Seeds). Gwen said that Nick the Traveler would be bound to be able to get some etc etc. Is this some kind of hint about what Nick will want next week, some reference to something else, or just a random conversation between two ahem close friends?--Son of Batman 16:39, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

These are documented in Hall of Monuments. Fenyx 18:06, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Logan note

→ Moved from Talk:Gwen (Eye of the North)

Added because while it is just speculation, we know Thackeray has a thing for Gwen, he has a descendant in GW2(implied by name) and who else would it be, Gwen is an important NPC, and frankly it makes sense--Lord Randy 06:02, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Just because he has a thing for her doesn't mean it turned into a relationship. I don't think we should have the note here, though it's appropriate on Lt. Thackeray's page because of the shared surname. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 06:58, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

May as well have the trivia note there since its got a pretty heavy chance at being right--Lord Randy 07:01, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Pretty heavy is pretty relative. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 08:14, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I prefer the note removed. Her and the guy have no more than a few lines together. You can't assume a relationship from that. (Xu Davella 15:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC))
If I remember right, wasn't there an entire Wintersday quest dedicated to helping him get a gift for her? Putting a descendant of Gwen in GW2 does seem like the sort of thing ANet would do, and if you think about it, the Wintersday 2008 quest was created after work had started on GW2. Does anybody here really believe that Logan and Gwen aren't related? --Santax (talk · contribs) 15:27, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
It is really a thing Anet would do (that's something I really like from them) but it's still a speculation (for example, in theory there are several people who can be the one who hooked up with Lt. Thackeray). I say add when there is some more evidence. For now, remove. -- Cyan User Cyan Light sig.jpg 15:44, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

While true there are not to many lines, It is the sort of thing Anet would do, and its an easily predictable thing they would do--Lord Randy 16:05, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

I dunno if they would. We've never really seen a relationship happen in Guild Wars, except for Cynn's tsundere approach to Mhenlo, Koss and Melonni's love-hate situation, and these hints, and half the time in the HoM Gwen talks like she doesn't want Thackeray there. I think it's too hard to say at this point, but maybe they'll clarify in one of the novels. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 17:29, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Watch, some point in the future it will be right, but until then i think the trivia note is got at least some business down there, And another thing, she just may not be showing it that's all i have to say on that--Lord Randy 18:13, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

It is trivial speculation that many people agree with, thus that in itself makes it worthy of staying as trivia. Gwen aside, we know Thackeray likes her, and seems to be a persistent little guy so far, despite Gwen's peculiar "foreplay." User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 20:13, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

And calling him by first name could be hinting by Anet that she likes him back, just scarred to admit it, since everything she has ever loved has been destroyed, or burned by the charr, and pretending like she doesn't like him gives her security he wont be destroyed by a giant flaming crystal falling from the sky--Lord Randy 20:16, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'd prefer it remain unclarified, that way we can decide each for ourselves in our own mind what happened, rather than having it dictated to us. --Nathe 00:14, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

If you do want to keep a note about this, just say Keiran seems to have some interest on her; saying Logan is her descendant is going too far from the point. The evidence supporting this is too little, Kairen could even die just after GW:EN while Logan would be his brother's descendant (assuming he has one) . I'm removing the note. --Drake of Storms 01:13, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

What about wording it "It has been speculated by Guild Wars players that ____ because ____"? Manifold User Manifold Jupiter.jpg 01:38, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
SOME players speculate it. The wiki is not for a few players' speculations, but for game info. --Drake of Storms 05:27, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Is a trivia note not saying its true, it deserves a spot atleast--Lord Randy 05:29, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Why does it deserves a spot? Just keep the facts straight, make the note about Keiran, then in his page the note about Logan and let players smart enough create their own speculations. There's nothing directly relating Logan to Gwen.--Drake of Storms 05:33, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
I still laugh at the "Lady of Shallot" trivia, as I don't see the resemblance at all, but oh well. This one was a bit too much speculation, but I think it would be quite safe to say that "Gwen has a developing friendship with Lt. Thack in the quest blah blah." as that is not speculation, it is a fact. Going further is a bit too much, just wait for another quest to push this forward. Or GW2 itself. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 12:41, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

My speculation is that Rose of Kali needs to get laid. >: --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.213.184.125 (talk).
