We are just normal Players here but you could try and just put another Rune on that Piece to replace the old one. If that wont help you should contact Support. --SilentStorm Talk to me 15:40, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
This may seem obvious, but you have been using a salvage kit to remove it correct? --Wyn's Talk page Wyn/talk 19:56, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Playing two characters on one account

Hello, I've got a son with a character created under my account. If there's a way for him to use it while I use one of mine, let me know and guide me or at least help confirm what I already suspect to be true. Thanks.--67.164.220.255 03:30, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Sunspear Battle Call & AoE

hi anyone.. I'm trying to complete a mission on hard mode in the Consulate Docks and i was reading the help page and they said for me to use Sunspear Battle Call the skill and how do i get that

i have another question what does AoE mean? 173.33.143.42 15:31, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Sunspear Battle Call is a skill that increase non-level 20 characters' health to that a of a level 20 character (480 by default). You can't get or use it; it's a monster-only skill. It should also be useless in hard mode, seeing as how you need to be level 20 to play HM anyway. AoE stands for Area of Effect or Air of Enchantment, usually the former. --Jette 15:46, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Just to note. If you are not level 20 you will be buffed with this skill automatically when you start the mission.- TheRave talk (talk) 01:01, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Weapon Changing

I'm in the battle and i want to switch my weapon but it doesn't switch right away it only switches a couple of times I click on it several times

Why does that happen? is it because my computers slow? or my PC game is slow.... or is it just like that? can someone please explain to me? please and thank you 173.33.143.42 00:13, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

It will not let you change in the middle of some actuions relating to it's use. You can bypass this by canceling. (Default [Esc]). Backsword 00:17, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

lvl 20 pet

I recently charmed the jingle bear and leveled it up to level 20, however, it is still agressive and i typed in /petname to reset its "title" and it is still agressive not dire or elder. Anyone know how to fix this? or if its fixable? Thanks 72.133.249.63 17:50, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Can't "fix" it, short of getting a new Jingle Bear and leveling it up in the manner necessary to make it Dire, Elder, etc. See Animal Companion#Evolution and Talk:Animal companion. calor (talk) 19:06, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Protector of Cantha

I am going for Protector of Cantha title. I only count 12 missions that I can get master in by following storyline. The counter says I need 13. What is the mission that I'm missing? Is it the Elite Mission? And if so, do you just complete it for credit? I don't see any way of getting master for that one.--65.5.200.49 17:27, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

List_of_Factions_missions --JonTheMon 17:30, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
as Jon said ^^ But I bet you either miss Gyala Hatchery or Eternal Grove as you only need to do one of them to complete Factions. (Depending on wether you choosed Luxon or Kurzick Quest Chain) --SilentStorm Talk to me 18:06, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Yea, you need to do both Gyala and Eternal - just following the storyline will only get you one of them. Talking to Jamei in Maatu Keep will get you Journey to Cavalon and Journey to House zu Heltzer, and you'll need to take both and follow those quest chains. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 18:18, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

casual player topped out... now what?

I've finished Prophecies.... Played a lot of Eye of the North and I seem to have topped out and I know there are players outthere that seem to be more powerful that me...

It seems like GW 101 is there and then it skips right to post graduate level info.

I know there will always be a limit it I play casually, but I ready didn't want to have to do homework and study during "playtime"

I'd love something like GW 201 level advice....

What kinds of builds are good for what areas

How to efficiently upgrade weapons and armor

How to know where to farm solo at your skill level

I'm not even sure I know about some of the tings that are out there to ask about...

I tend to play solo because I know I'm not playing at high levels and I get sick of dieing when the rest of the party are buttheads that run headlong into everything.... --Conal Adue Aliquid Digmun ( dare something worthy ) 22:54, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I would suggest using the search option as well as visiting some of the forums Your question is far reaching and could take walls of text to answer. I would suggest that people with specific suggestions reply on your talk page. :D --Wyn's Talk page Wyn/talk 23:04, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
I would also suggest that maybe purchasing nightfall and factions is in order as that will give you a wider understanding of the game and the mechanics of the various professions, but I agree with Wyn that your question is extremely wide reaching and thus its better to answer this question in a specific manner on your talkpage. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 23:06, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Would it help to find someone with some patience to..... I guess the term would be 'mentor' me a little.... How do/would I go about that?
I know that there is more to know but I'm not even sure where to start asking questions...
I could go off on a tangent that would take forever when there is a much more efficient way to get me where I want to go but do now know enough about it to even ask....
EDIT  : how about a good forum suggestion ( one that does not charge $ )--Conal Adue Aliquid Digmun ( dare something worthy ) 23:16, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
The way I learned more and more and more, was to join an experienced guild/alliance. I could ask all the questions I wanted and they gave suggestions, advice and tips. For the deep discussion you want, in game might be best.- TheRave talk (talk) 23:23, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
(conflicted edit) The GuildwarsGuru.com forums are the best I know for that place. It contains some builds and guides or even QA. Note that once you obtain the maximum armor or perfect weapon and level 20, your character is fully equipped. No need to buy anything expensive to have the same item advantages as any other player. All the rest you can do is earn some of many achievements and learn how to combine skills and tactics for combat and acquiring items. Take a look at PvXwiki.com for ideas on how to improve your builds. Especially if you also own the Factions and Nightfall campaigns there will be many things for you to do. Consider finding a good/helpful Guild to play with or try out one of the many PvP options (this is where your skill/tactics knowledge gets tested ^^) Good Luck! --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 23:25, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Crystal Desert story missions seem to be bug

The Ghostly Hero won't start the Crystal Desert Missions. I have tryed several times for the last three days to reach suport.I haven't gotten a response from subport.--74.83.10.37 15:01, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

I just started all 3 without issue. You realize you don't speak to the ghostly hero to start the mission, the leader of the party uses the Enter Mission button in the party window. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn/talk 15:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Also, you need to have gone to Augury Rock and talked Great Ritual Priest Zahmut before can do the desert missions. --mira castillo 19:55, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

bonding

hows come my monk heros wont bond enchantment spells on my character is there something i need to unlock--96.253.219.244 13:40, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Heroes don't maintain enchantments. If you want them to, you need to disable the skill (shift+click on their skill bar) and then manually apply the enchantment to your character. They won't remove it then. See: Hero_AI#Enchantments --Wyn's Talk page Wyn/talk 14:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
They do cast these bonds - but only when they seek necessairy. SoH for example will be cast on a party member dealing a lot of melee damage. After the battle and even during - when the person stops attacking - he will immedeately disband maintaining the spell, as to "reduce" the cost. The AI for this isn't very complex, so just as Wyn said - the best thing to do is disable the skills and micro-manage them on their mini skill bars. --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 18:38, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
There are exceptions to this, I believe the Hero A.I. will maintain the PvE version of Unyielding Aura on themselves constantly. But yes, aside from that, they will end any maintained enchantments you tell them to cast if they don't think they're needed. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:44, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Choosing the right runes

I have a question for anyone to answer...I have two shields with two different runes and I don't know which one is better..... one rune says received physical damage -2 (while enchanted) and the other one says received physical damage -4 (Chance:16%)

Which one will work better and what do they do? anyone? 173.33.143.42 21:50, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

It depends on the type of build you're using.
The first one reduces all physical damage you take by 2, so long as you have an Enchantment on you. This can be helpful for some professions (certain Monk builds will often have an Enchantment active, and some farming builds maintain Enchantments to reduce damage). While on the other hand, a Warrior would probably never use an enchantment (since their energy pool isn't suited to spellcasting at all), so the bonus would rarely come into effect.
The second one isn't max, but it's another helpful mod anyway (max on that one is a 20% chance of -5 physical damage). What that does is randomly trigger on 20% of all hits you take (in your case, 16%), and reduces the physical damage when it activates. For example, if a Warrior hits you ten times for 10 damage, your shield will trigger roughly two times, reducing two of those hits to only 5 or 6 damage instead. It's random, so not quite as reliable as the first mod, but it reduces more damage and has no requirement, which can add up to about the same result. It's generally more popular because of the fact that there's no requirement for the effect.
If you run lots of enchantments on yourself, then the first mod might work better for you. But otherwise, the second one is more useful. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 22:41, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
You're probably better off with the -2 while enchanted. Honestly, though, -X damage mods are pretty useless. What you want is +10 armor vs. X damage mods. Unless your armor is really high (think armor of earth high) or the damage is pitiful (in which case you shouldn't need any bonus damage reduction anyway) you'll be taking less damage than you would be with a -X damage mod. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 22:46, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Not exactly the right page for this question.. according to this page: shield - the best armour for a shield is 16, which you get when you meet the level requirement in attribute points. You can upgrade a shield with some of the inscriptions. The best thing you do in general is something like "Luck of the Draw": a 20% chance on receiving 5 less damage from physical attacks. If you have something special - like you are most of the time enchanted, in a stance, hexed or receiving a certain type of damage or condition very often - choose the appropriate inscription. You can also add a shield handle for more health. --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 22:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Kurzicks and Luxon

I am now a friend to the Kurzicks and now i don't know how to get back to Luxon and be a friend how? how do i do that? 173.33.143.42 00:17, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

It's just a title. Luxon traders will offer you their services if you have more luxon faction then kurzick faction. You can check your faction level in the Hero (h) interface. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 01:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

heroes handbook

i know its new to us and lots of questions. i have a factions character. almost finished factions and almost finished nightfall. how do i fill the handbook for factions and nightfall. have completed almost all the missions and primary quests in both campaigns?? any ideas70.95.155.138 14:03, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

The Hero's Handbook is for the Eye of the North missions only. For Factions there is the Shiro's Return book and for Nightfall there is the Night Falls book.
The articles on these books say "If you do not have the book in your inventory when completing a mission, you can get the Kurzick Poet or Luxon Bard to fill in the page for 100 gold." and "If you do not have the book in your inventory when completing a mission, you may ask the Sunspear Signalman or the Lightbringer Scrivener to fill in the page for 100 gold." respectively.
But bear in mind that "You can't buy pages retroactively for missions done before the introduction of this book, on November 13th 2008. ".
Hope this helps.- TheRave talk (talk) 17:09, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Transferring items

Can I give an item from one of my charictors to another in my own account?--72.45.132.46 15:41, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
