So a few weeks ago I had an actual dream about GWs, and in this dream... some friends and I were fighting most of the bosses and boss-like creatures in GWs in 1 area as a mini-game, so here is the suggestion.

The Boss Fighting Tournament (working title, can be changed to something better).

CONCEPT: to be able to fight all bosses in the game at once, in one area.

Game Modes

Normal Mode (1v1)
  • Solo 1v1 against bosses that you player has defeated across all four games. As you defeat 1 boss, another respawns.
  • Game ends when the player dies or all bosses are defeated. Bosses have the same level as they would in Normal mode of the game.
Normal Mode (Teams)
  • Teams of up to 8 players fight against bosses that all players in the group have defeated. As you defeat 1 boss, another respawns. Game ends when everyone on the team dies or all bosses are defeated. Bosses are of the same level as they would be in Normal mode of the game.
Hard Mode (1v1)
  • Solo 1v1 against bosses that you player has defeated across all four games. As you defeat 1 boss, another respawns.
  • Game ends when the player dies or all bosses are defeated. Bosses are of the same level as in Hard mode of the game.
Hard Mode (Teams)
  • Teams of up to 8 players fight against bosses that all players in the group have defeated. As you defeat 1 boss, another respawns.
  • Game ends when everyone on the team dies or all bosses are defeated. Bosses possess the same level as in Hard mode of the game.
Normal insane Mode (1vX)
  • 1 player vs up to 8 bosses that the player has defeated. As soon as one boss dies, another random boss spawns, BUT, it could be any boss... even the one you just defeated.
  • At one point you could be fighting 8 Shiros at once. The game ends when the player is defeated. Bosses feature the same level as they do in Normal mode.
Normal insane Mode (Teams)
  • Same as above except that you may bring the others with you, and again all bosses available are the ones everyone in the party has defeated.
Hard insane Mode (1vX)
  • Same as Normal Rumble mode except that all bosses will have their Hard mode levels.
Hard insane Mode (Teams)
  • Same as Normal Rumble mode except that all bosses will have their Hard mode levels, and you may bring the others with you.
Survivor insane 1vX (NM & HM)
  • Same as non-rumble mode (1v1), with the exception that a new boss spawns as quickly as the previous one is defeated.
Survivor Mode (Teams NM & HM)
  • Same as above except that teams are allowed.
NOTES
  • Bosses also includes boss-like monsters.
  • This will take place in Gunnar's Hold where The Norn Fighting Tournament is held at. But, in order to start the game you must be in Embark Beach. In other words, a copy of that map will be created so that the players without the Eye of the North expansion can still play this mini-game.
  • To start a game, an NPC will be disposed at Embark Beach. A player (or party leader) will have to talk to that NPC and select any or all of the desired bosses, which game mode the participants wish to enter, and what difficulty the game will be in.
  • Defeating bosses in this tournament will not count towards completion of any missions. Defeated bosses will not drop any loot.
  • Excluding survivor modes, the bosses will spawn 10 seconds apart.
  • Bosses like Abbadon that require you to kill "minions" in order to attack it are excluded from this mini-game, however, Mallyx will be included, as will the generals you have to kill before him in the quest chain.
  • When a boss spawns, its area effect will trigger and stay active as long as the boss is alive.
  • A party size for this mini-game is 12, but the maximum number of bosses at one time is 8.
  • 1v1 actually means that 1 player goes against 1 boss, Heroes are allowed in Team battles.
  • The mini-game will have to keep track of all bosses & boss-like creatures existing within the game and which ones the players have already defeated.

  • A new book will have to be created that keeps track of all bosses in the game and crosses them off (scratches out) as the player defeats them. Showing the book to an NPC won't erase defeated bosses from the book.

-or-

  • The game keeps the track of which Zaishen Bounty quests you have completed, and those completed quests will be selectable bosses for the mini-game.
  • Reward Points (separate NPC in Embark Beach) are awarded to the player(s) for every boss they defeat. To keep the math simple, their formula will be [Boss Level x 10]. These points serve as measurement scale, do not take up inventory space (act similarly to skill points) and appear at the reward NPC (proposing it this way because I have other ideas for other mini-games & would like to use the same reward system).
  • Mini Game Grab Bag (10K reward points each) is the only prize available.
    • inside the Grab Bag there will be a reward anywhere from 300 to 3000 gold and one of the following treats:
Common Rewards 40%
Uncommon Rewards 35%
Rare Rewards 24.99%
  • A random R9 inscribable version of any player-designed weapon or off-hand from 2005 & 2007 (Gold, Modable but Customized to the player, with writing which says who designed it).
  • A random end-game reward token.
  • Ultra Summoning Stone (everlasting and will summon an ally from one of the other summoning stones).
  • Gold Zaishen Coins
  • Blessing of War
  • Everlasting tonic versions of tonics that do not have everlasting versions which are already in the game, e.g. Minutely Mad King Tonic.
ULTRA RARE REWARDS .01% chance (all non-tradable, excluding minipets)
ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • Above scrolls are permanent additions to a player's account, but after the first use, will not be rewarded again. The additional rewards could be supplied in the form of discontinued items which have not been removed from the game, but are no longer obtainable.
  • I ran this idea in a GW1 FB group, I'm in for feedback. It got a fair bit of it, mostly in regards to reward percentages and what it should reward and which bosses we should and shouldn't be able to fight in this mini-game... along with how challenging this mini-game would be in particular modes.
  • The first 3 groups of percentages (common, uncommon & rare) can still be tweaked and other appealing rewards might be added (not removed from any of them).
  • The questioning of rewards was brought up in the feedback by elitists, but having a few of those items by buying the magazines for minipets & pre-ordering games to get those rewards is what I chose to omit as it's still my honest opinion that the game should utilize exclusive, limited or discontinued items, and if any were made, it should be viewed as "I got it first" kind of thing, and considering that most of those items are hardly accessible by now, it shouldn't cause much of an uproar.
  • My trade-off was making it an extremely rare reward from this bag & adding more rewards to make the chances of obtaining a certain item even more harder and improbable.
