- Lol, wow. How big was it? xD -- Halogod35 23:51, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

- (Edit conflict) this edit has the complete talk page. Though I'm mainly having trouble saving it to the archive more then accessing it. And no, I finally upgraded ^^ >< -- Wandering Traveler 00:06, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- That is very odd... I can enter the text and view a preview of it, but when I attempt to submit it, it returns a blank page with the &action=submit url. When I attempt to reload that url, it returns the contents of the &action=edit url, without the submitted text. Is this what happens to you? Lord Belar 00:17, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Prescisely what happens to me. I think I'll just have to split that archive or something.... -- Wandering Traveler 00:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- Some people are having similar problems with diffs and there are some reports of problems saving any page last night. I wonder if this is a problem with the whole wiki. Although breaking up that archive is probably a good idea nonetheless. Lord Belar 00:21, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Uploading pics[edit]
omg.....every time I try to upload a new pic for my pages it will keep the old and say that it has uploaded the new one.....so that everytime I freakin try to make a new page for the new pic you delete because the fake old one says it is the same freakin one...............I just want to fix it so my new pics will quit getting flippin deleted! Nick6200 00:12, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thats because of the wiki's image cache. it takes a bit of time for an image to update itself. Since I'm not an admin, I havent deleted your images, though its entirely possible another person tagged them and deleted them. You should be fine in reuploading and letting the cache update. Patience is key with this wiki :) -- Wandering Traveler 00:13, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I did notice you hadn't been around as much, was wondering what had happened to you as I used to normally see you pop up in the same convos that I was involved in. -- Salome 17:51, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've been fine, no worries :). I've been swamped getting my draft of my Juinor Thesis going, and right when I finished that my laptop decided to die. Hopefully I'll get more active, but for now I'll just be popping in for image tagging and the like. Nevertheless, good luck on your RFA! ^^ -- Wandering Traveler 18:21, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

- LOL fair enough, my thesis was on "A comparative study of the balance reached between individual civil liberties and national security, in counter terrorism incentives over the past four decades within the UK", so a short and snappy title. However it was interesting, so good luck with yours and hope you enjoy it! Makes it way easier if you do. -- Salome 19:01, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

The Lost Dragon Guild Pics[edit]
I was just wondering what was wrong with the pics I posted on the page, just so I don't make the same mistake again. Peter Higgins Talk 01:41, 16th Feb '09
- The main problem was that they were not formatted according to our image and guild page policy. Guild images should always be named in this format:
- Image:Guild Guild Name Picture.jpg
- I simply renamed and corrected the images, so they should be up properly. If you need more information, check out GWW:GUILD and GWW:IMAGE for our policies on the two. Hope this helps; if you have any other questions, ask em'. :) -- Wandering Traveler 01:46, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for that, I was unsure if it was just the naming of the image. Peter Higgins Talk 01:53, 16th Feb '09

Request for assist.[edit]
Heylo Traveler. I have a request. Can you, when one has time, look at this page? User:Demonic Cobra/Sandbox For some reason I cant force the boxes I use to adept to the maximal screen size. It might just be and being code blind atm, but it doesnt work. The right hand side should be around 25 % of the page and the left 75 %. Thanks in advance -- Cobra 13:50, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- Huh....thats really strange, they're not adapting for me either. Let me ask another person about this; maybe they have an ace up their sleeve that I don't. -- Wandering Traveler 16:00, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- You have to fill them with text to widen them. Try adding non breaking spaces (& n b s p ; without the spaces) to add blank spaces to widen things. Currently, your percentages are working fine, the boxes however will only widen to accomodate the widest line of text. -- Wyn 16:11, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- For now the spaces work fine when I fill them up. That is completely true. The thing is, when you force the space to 75% and 25 % it will fill every screen perfectly. And for some reason it doesn't want to work in combination with the tabs. -- Cobra 07:55, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Pious Assault Changes[edit]
Nice to make your acquaintance Wandering Traveler. :D I am a bit confused about what you did on my talk page User Talk:Musha in regards to my Pious Assault post. I am now aware of the redundant post, but it doesn't seem to have been changed at all. Were you asking me to change it? Also, I am concerned that because my Pious Assault suggestion was listed under the "All issues addressed by Isaiah" section it won't be looked at. Will this be the case, or will it actually be looked at even under that heading, or do you know? Thanks Wandering Traveler! --Musha-- 01:54, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Musha! As far as I remember, there wasnt anything changed about your post: what happened was it was not posted on the original section page, rather created on a new page in the mainspace. Nothing was done to change it, I simply moved it to where it is located now. As for the "All issues addressed by Isaiah" section, I'm not quite sure what to do there. It was moved to that section after a game update that changed the functionality of the skill. I'm pretty sure if you feel theres a problem you can move it back up to its original place. Hope this helps. :) -- Wandering Traveler 02:00, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Shard and Adrin[edit]
I just wanted to talk to you for a moment. The harsh language the boys used was at each other, me, and friends/guildies. They did not spew racial slurs or cusswords at other players. Yes, Shard and Adrin have trash talked during GvG's and HA matches calling other players "bad" or "scrubs" and things of that nature, which, unfortunately are common place in those arenas. This situation is more complex than what you are reading here on this wiki, and those details are not going to be disclosed. Adrin is my husband, he's not this awful, terrible person everyone thinks he is, which is likely why his ban is just a normal, temporary ban. But please, know all the facts of the situation before you pass judgement on Adrin.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* 16:02, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- I had a feeling there was a larger story behind this. Unfortunately, wtihout access to that larger story, I (like others) jump to conclusions a little too easily. While I'm not sure if Arenanet can discern between sarcastic obscenities with friends and "serious" obscenities in HA or GvG, they're obscenities nonetheless. I know its wrong, but its a personal opinion I've driven myself by for some time.
- From what I've seen, Adrin is not a bad person. He has good points, many of which I agree with. I think he takes a bit too blunt of an approach, but that doesnt mean his points are wrong, persay. If I did say anything insulting, I wholeheartely apologize.
- I based my points off of what I see. half the time they're completely wrong, but without the full story, I think everyone but the people involved are wrong.
- Hopefully this helps resolve things. -- Wandering Traveler 16:12, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

- What do you find wrong with that? I'm genuinely curious, truthfully. -- Wandering Traveler 16:56, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Auron, sarcastic obscenities can still VERY deeply offend someone, I know this first hand. — Jon Lupen 17:59, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- What do I find wrong with ignoring context clues? Are you really asking me that? -Auron >8< 02:59, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- I can't say for personal experience, since I don't work at Arenanet. Some MMO's ban for things like this outright. (A personal experience from Runescape taught me that). Others actually check game logs to see if its "joking" or "non-joking". Whichever one it is...well, it happened. I'm not quite sure what else to say....Mind you, its just an opinion. -- Wandering Traveler 03:01, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Auron is making the point that, the items they were banned for were whispers to each other and friends, to which Adrin was told he was reported. However, this may not have been stated correctly by whom ever was corresponding with Adrin, thought it seems so, as the two people who the comments were made to in the chat logs I requested from NCSoft are near and dear friends, one of which is paying over $300 to vist us in California next weekend and is one of Adrin's groomsmen in our wedding. The people involved spam obsenites in whispers back and forth to each other and in guild chat, so them being the reporting party is not true at all. But, that isn't the point, as I told Gaile, the point is cusswords were used and Anet has no distinction as to where, when, why and how the words were used, just that they were used. In all honesty, if this were anyone but Adrin and Shard, its likely the factors of the word usage might have been considered, but they have created a very dangerous and negative reputation among employees of Anet, and their actions can be easily misinterpteded based on their past behavior.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* 23:34, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well said, and it's nice to hear of weddings. Good luck to the both of you, cheers. --Antioch 23:49, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- To clear up any possible missunderstandings, my comment was just simply addressing the facts that Support might not have taken into account the fact that they were friends or was just running off the basis that such language can still be offensive. Like you said, for them cusswords were used, and when, where and why doesn't seem to matter to them. Some of my friends are the same way as Shard and Adrin in the use of language. Seconded on Antioch's well wishes, hope all goes well for you. :) — Jon Lupen 23:57, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

- The email I got from support said I was banned for 3 whispers to adrin (in which he whispered back the exact same thing), one curse in guild chat, and me saying "hell yeah" in all chat. Nice joke. That's how far they had to reach to get me banned. Also, I was not reported for any of those, because only Adrin and Eva could have seen them, and they would not report me. I would really just like to know the real reason I was banned. ~Shard 01:13, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Your Thesis[edit]

- Government regulation and how it fails in a free market society. Pretty much whats happening in the U.S. today and how we could have prevented it. -- Wandering Traveler 05:45, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Debate time. You need a little government regulation, or else people will be doing fishy things with their's and other people's money and the like, but what kind of regulation and how much is the question. Anyway, I could very well be saying more than I know, economics is not my strong point. :P I'm sure it would be a rather interesting read, and I'm sure I would learn quite a bit from it. When I have some more free time (other than the bits and pieces I steal from other tasks that is), mid may or so, I would love to give it a read. — Jon Lupen 05:49, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

- You don't have to be a sysop to be a productive, active and helpful contributor either. He also brings up a valid point. — Jon Lupen 20:03, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) First off, hello. I voted oppose due to a variety of reasons, but the main one being is that you do not have to be a sysop to help out. Good ways to start as a normal user would be proper image naming, guild cleanups, notifications, and general wiki-code help. All of this and more can be accomplished without the sysop tools. Seeing as I've only seen you around for a short while, I don't think I can trust you with the tools quite yet. It is a job not to be taken lightly. The tools are for those who the wiki trusts above and beyond. It will take time, but if you can show us we can trust you, I will change my vote. :) Thanks. -- Wandering Traveler 20:05, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

- Don't just learn the code and accumulate contributions, learn the policies, learn the way the wiki works, gain trust with the sysop team and the general user base as well. Keep in mind that there will come a point when you think you are ready to be a sysop, but will the community be ready for you, and do they think you are ready? Being a sysop isn't like a job, you don't do well enough to get eventually promoted, it's politics. Your elected by the community, they have to like and trust you enough. — Jon Lupen 17:58, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Also, as Jon said before, you don't need to be a sysop at all. WT isn't a sysop, Jon isn't a sysop, Vanguard isn't a sysop, Halo is no sysop, but I'd still say they are great editors and real assets to the community. I'm not a sysop either, but I'm not the one to judge my performance. :P Anyway, the list of users who aren't sysops but still do great things here is reeeaaallyyy looong! — Why 21:56, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I used to, but now I favor Recurves and Longbows. Back in the day when I was a noob I'd use short bows and Horn bows. I quit horn bows cause the PvP one got changed to an ugly one. -- Halogod35 23:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Historical Guild pages in Inactive list[edit]
Heya WT! The Historical guilds that have been showing up in the inactive list all had Category:All guilds hard coded. That is the category the inactive guild dpl list calls from and is generally controlled by the {{guild}} tag. When you see that happening, simply edit the guild page and removed it from the All guilds category or make sure the guild tag has been removed and replaced by the {{historical guild}} tag. -- Wyn 05:30, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Character Template[edit]
Hey WT, just want to say good job on your character templates. I just started revamping my charatcer pages with it. Just wanted to leave a heads up that your missing all the EotN titles, Party Animal, and Zaishen titles of the title section. Might wanna update your template for others to use. ^^ Magic 06:28, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Heya Magic! I actually adopted the character templates from Shadowphoenix, so she's the best one to recieve credit. I'm really lazy with my templates, but I'll fill those out in case others do wish to use them (in this case, you ^^). Thanks for pointing that out! :) -- Wandering Traveler 14:48, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- How'd you get the background to change color with the profession as seen on your character pages? I didn't see a field to change the background color. :S Magic Talk 18:27, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm...truth be told, I'm not sure. I think theres code within the actual template (seen here) that reads which profession name you put in and corresponds to the color. Its a guess, but I think thats how it works, as I never really messed with colors when making my characters. -- Wandering Traveler 18:32, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Creating a User Page[edit]
Not sure how to ask this without sounding demanding or desperate.. lol. Do you know of anyone that could code me a main user page? I've got the format drawn out in an image and I'd think it to be pretty easy.. I just down know wiki code yet.. :S It's basically just creating some tables and applying the background color for me. All the info is on my current "user page" if you wanna check it out right fast. The format is based off "your" (Shadowphoenix's) character pages. I actually tried using the character page but.. it didn't work. XD So yeah.. if you know anyone that could and wouldn't mind it.. send me the info.. I guess I could pay em in GW stuff/gold. [To bad I think that violates a TOS somewhere :S] -- Magic Talk 04:44, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- don't worry, ask it how it is! :) Your best bet userpage-wise would probably be to A. Look at the userpage and character page templates of Wyn, or ask Shadowphoenix or Poke. They'd be your best bet.
- On another note, a quick question. Where did you get the code for your userspace the first time? I think what you did was not use the template associated with the code, but the source itself. The template is much easier to edit and read, and I think you were using the source code. Which I can't even comprehend. xD
- But if all else fails, check with the people I listed. They'll have some ideas. :) -- Wandering Traveler 04:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- The first one as in the original/first saved version? Idr.. lol But I'd rather have this newer version. It would match the rest of my pages better when/if I eventually bind them all together. xD Magic Talk 05:13, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Oh my, you took the hard road on that one then. In the future, feel free to just copy over the template from something like this. Its much easier to read, and I think that was the problem. Nevertheless, if you need more help, feel free to ask. :) -- Wandering Traveler 05:17, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Tagging + File:User_Wandering_Traveler_Sig2.png[edit]
Hey.
First off, I would just like to say, thanks for the tagging of my user image which I forgot to tag. It prompted me to finally use Poke's GWWT for the first time. I have always had them, just never used them before because I always inserted/input the code myself. I saw your userpage link of un-tagged in-active guilds, and so I tagged them all using the GWWT. Thank you for reminding me that I had them. I find them really cool because I didn't realise it would automatically insert the code, AND save the page, all automatically. I had a thought that I could make a bot to tag in-active guilds using GWWT. I don't know what I would call it though.
Secondly, I was just wondering, did you make File:User_Wandering_Traveler_Sig2.png? If so, could you please make me a blue one like it, however, facing to the right at a 45 degree angle kind of though. Kind of like Gaile's, except reversed and also blue. I would like it to be the same dark shade as Gaile's (except in blue). Also, Gaile's kind of looks...shiny or something to me. Any chance you could do that as well please?
Anyway, that's all for now.
Cheers!

Historical Content[edit]
If a page is moved into the Historical category, can it be moved out/back to where it was? Magic Talk 18:23, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Depends on what it is. -- Halogod35 19:00, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- If we're talking about Historical Guilds, you can move it back to its original location if you indeed are not inactive. However, to keep it there you must make an edit to the gulid page at least every three months, otherwise an inactive tag will be placed. If it does not recieve edits for another three months, it is again moved to historical space. -- Wandering Traveler 00:27, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Otherwise, if it's a skill like Something (PvP), no, you can only move it back when the pvp version appears again. -- Halogod35 00:33, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- It was in fact about a guild. Is the switch automatic? Would the current URL be a redirect to the historical page or would I have to search it. Because, if it is, you've got a few more images to tag. :D Raine - talk 00:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- As far as I know, it is....its a depiction of something copyrighted by Arenanet, and I've tagged a few in the past just like that. I'll definitely check before I tag any others though. -- Wandering Traveler 00:54, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

- Well, from what it looks like, they are Arenanet images due to concept. Drawing a monk in kurzick armor means you're drawing something that Arenanet owns. I remember taggging copyrighted things (manga, etc.) because they were self-drawn, but still depicted copyrighted material. So yes, Arenanet images all around. :) -- Wandering Traveler 01:07, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Tagged guild in error[edit]
Hey. I saw that you had tagged a guild Guild:Xen Of Onslaught (historical) as inactive, and now it has been moved to historical guilds. Thing is, this is not an inactive guild, which is evident from the listed Guild webpage. Hence the second requisite for tagging the guild as inactive was not fulfilled. However they are not at all active on the Wiki so probably didn't notice the inactive tag in time. I myself is in an alliance guild but haven't been on the Wiki for some time otherwise I would have caught it. Is it any way to move the guild back from "historical" or must the page be re-made?--Lensor (talk) 01:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

- Yeah, I noticed I didn't have some of my uploads watched today and I went a bit "wtf?" when I saw it tagged as Arenanet. Misery 22:09, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Why the hell wouldn't you choose Paladin?[edit]
Cool sprite > ugly sprite. If you wanted to, like, PvP then you'd pick General. But only hardcode FE players do that. Vili 点 03:31, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

- But...but...how the crap does that work? Amelia goes from this scrawny 8 year old to a 7 foot tall hulking chunk of metal? Besides, she at least looks female as a paladin.....If I really need a general I usually use Gilliam. -- Wandering Traveler 15:22, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Skill Progression[edit]
Is there a way to check a skills changes from previous patches on the wiki. Like, "this skill was this on x patch but was modified to "this" on y patch but now functions as "this" on z patch". Would I have to look at patch logs of the past and just sift through them for the information? If so, how would I go about searching for skill update patch logs in the wiki? And how far back do you think it would go? I was discussing skills with a friend on how some use to be and how skills have changed over the years. I think it would be interesting to see hows skills were vs how skills are now. I wish changes were linked to each skills page as a marker for what skills were vs what they are currently. Magic Talk 03:35, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- There's this tab at the top of pages labelled "history". You can also try looking at the talkpage to get a general idea, sometimes. Vili 点 03:39, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- As Vili said, the history function is probably your best bet. The wiki's been around a while, so its bound to have at least some of the historical skill data. There are also a couple of pages like Aegis/Skill_history that can probably help you, though I have not seen a lot of these. -- Wandering Traveler 03:48, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah.. I forgot about the history part. xD Was kind of hoping for a page with the info on it. I guess.. if I ever get back into wiki coding.. I might have to make one for myself. Thanks for the info guys. :) Magic Talk 03:50, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- Let's say for a second that I did go back and pull the progression status of the skill. Instead of making an archive of them in my namespace, do you think I should add it to the skills page instead? Either in the notes section or talk page (ie a link to a page w/ the info on it)? Magic Talk 04:03, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'd bring that up for consideration on one of the formatting talk pages. I'm truthfully not sure there. -- Wandering Traveler 22:07, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

Odd Bug[edit]
Remember that odd frozen foe bug that we got in guild wars? Well I created a report here. Feel free to add your own reply :D. --Dominator Matrix 07:08, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Shit, why didn't you say so before? I would have voted support for sure. My record to date is 5 or so bottles in a few hours. Passed out soon afterwards. Totally worth it, though :) Vili 点 03:59, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey WT,
I would just like to say that I really enjoy looking at your User Page Backgrounds when you change them from time to time. Where do you get the inspiration from/how do you decide what images that you would like displayed? Obviously I take it you copy them from a website that releases them out in the open under the GFDL (or you create/take them yourself).
Where would I be able to find more images like these?
Also, sorry to hear about your RFA.
Thanks! -- Lacky 04:13, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- I get all my photos from the Wikimedia Commons; you pretty much can't go wrong there. -- Wandering Traveler 17:38, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Wanna team up?[edit]
I got a couple of projects on wiki I want to do. First of all is making skill history for every skill (except the ones that were never changed), and second of all (my favorite) is going through every skill again and putting (Elite) by every elite skill. ANDD one last project, going through every skill page and adding all correct information (i.e. Deep Freeze's area of effect is Nearby. |Range = Nearby). =D? -- Halogod35 02:14, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Skill history can only go back to when update notes were posted. The beta versions of skills won't have any references (if anyone can remember them). That would be a lengthy (but cool) task. ~Shard 02:16, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Rfa[edit]
I agree completely with what you say, but the one of the reason I'd use the tools is to delete deletion tagged pages/images xD. One of my favorite things to do. -- Halogod35 22:19, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Matinence is always a good thing, but with the desperate need for sysops not many people will agree. I'd love to vote support, you're my friend after all, but I gotta put the work first. >< -- Wandering Traveler 00:31, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- No I completely understand. I'm learning here actually, cause I'm going to be better and print out all the gww rules and study them at school. and I'll take wiki lessons from yo ich halt. Then, try to not act like an asshat while I become more strict :p. Oh and I appreciate your honest more than voting as a friend. :) -- Halogod35 01:09, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Man, your RFA went so much better than mine lol. -- Halogod35 02:27, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
I like your paw, reminds me of Gatlinburg, Tn. :-) I was wondering how you all did your signatures (with images) and now I know. Have to go, have things to do today. Also, liked your RFA. -- riyen ♥ 16:47, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
