Hi. Your sig image should be uploaded with a new name according to the naming rules at GWW:USER. That means that it should be Image:User Omega001 sig.jpg. Your character links

Hey. Noticed you are using external links (the lighter blue ones, with the arrow) to link to your char pages, but there is an easier and neater way. Just do something like [[User:Silverleaf/<sub-pagename>|<what you want to appear>]]. For example, if I did [[User:Brains12/Characters|Hello]], I'd get Hello and it'll link to my character page. :) -- br12 • (talk) • 18:31, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Images

Hi, I just tagged a number of your images for deletion, they were in vilation of the user image policy. You need to prefix the images with "User Silverleaf" instead of just "Silverleaf" as you were before. Lyra Valo 14:08, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

In-game theft

Please note that there is nothing that people on the wiki can do about scamming (please check this article) reports. The best you can try is reporting what happened to support for now, and see if they can do something. Also, spreading the information about how the scam works to your guildmates and friends so they avoid falling for it can be helpful.--Fighterdoken 23:42, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Welcome templates

They have caused quite a bit of drama in the past, so I would like to ask of you to be careful with them. For example, User:Saraphimknight has been editing since september, a welcome now is maybe a bit late? - anja 21:37, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Welcoming with the very same message that caused the drama isn't a good idea either. If you want to welcome someone, make sure they are actually new, and give a different, personal message each time. -- Brains12 22:00, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Before I ever welcome anyone, I always check their user contributions. Make sure to select all and not just mainspace articles because frequently people stick to their user page for a while before editting mainspace articles. Again, I have to stress how important it is that you don't simply give the same message each time - a welcome is supposed to be welcoming a new user; something that can't be done through copy+paste. If you want to welcome someone, give a new message each time that's relevant to the user you're welcoming - "Hi, how you doing? Welcome to the wiki. If you need any help, you can ask me on my talk page. How to hatch a chick?

Why is every welcome message the same? Why are you welcoming some users that have been active or contributing for months? That may be, but this is quickly becoming not so much an issue of you over doing the welcomes, but totally disregarding the requests of other members of this community to tone it down. It's bordering on blatant disrespect which is in no way helpful. Sadly no one cares to notice i toned it down. The templates left is at requests by email or here. One user is an experianced programmer even. I kept the emails for reference or evidence of help-requests. And about the disrespect issue. Being nothing but attacked by the Status Quo isn't very respectfull in my opinion either. I do understand better than you may think, and I didn't mean it to come off as an attack, truly, but in watching the RC, I just kept seeing you seemingly continuing with something that several people have asked you to stop. Its the harse tone used by the Status Quo that has me revolting against such blatend "you are just a pleb" sound in the words used. You all are not caring enough to keep active users active anymore. Any bureaucratic responses of "I am better than you" or "you are just a pleb" are purely perceived by those who see it like that. That's not the case and, sorry if this sounds harsh but it's the truth, it's your problem if that's how you see it. You shouldn't be "revolting" against anything -- you are part of this community. Likewise, everyone else here is just as much part of that community as you are, so listening to the comments, feedback, or even comments asking you to step back a little is part of being that community. When you have found an image and really want to add that upload that as Image:SweetEscape Signature sig.png. Please remember to make it not larger than the maximum size of 19x19 pixels.

On Heroes' Ascent Plan

I really like HA, and I think that it's where players can improve their tactical sense. I wish I could get my guild playing more HA and less GvG. However, when 8 gather together, they're off playing GvG--usually with randomway or some quasi-balanced build. However, there's not enough team awareness to see that if the monk is being hexed to the point where the monk is shut down, that means the team needs to harrass the opposing side's anti-casters. In general, they understand their individual roles, but they don't look at the team as a whole, nor do they consider where the real threat comes from. HA teaches good team skills. When everyone understands how to play her character individually, and how to move with the team, and how to fit the individual character into the team dynamic, it's an amazing experience. I get that in my HA group, though we often have about 5 core people and 2-3 new people per session, which affects our team skill level significantly.

With respect to bettering yourself in HA, the first step is to brand yourself as a player. If you like dervishes, play dervishes in HA, and start to play the different variations of dervishes. Once you're really confident in that role, then if you want to branch out, find something else. I tend to play monks and restoration rits. I can play eles, but in general you want me on a monk--at least if my ping is reasonable!

I feel that the "Hand" of Aiiane is more theoretical and coldish than practical and patient. It is not only Aiiane. I have spotted others with the same tendency. That makes me think about the balance needed to help users here on a game specific wiki and the guidance needed to maintain the wiki according to policy. Administrators and Sysops are protectors and guidance givers here. I have browsed around the contributions of all the candidates and followed the created profiles the candidates left here. Ya Guild Wars is starting to head that way. With people quitting left, right, front and center, its also getting lonely. Yet the fact is Guild Wars is irreplaceable imo. The customizable mounts look really cool, graphics look decent....gameplay looks so-so. Try Exteel, its a fun FPS. Hi Silverleaf, I have found you through the help section. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. But I have a problem with my userpage. It's about this particulare page. I agree. Even in Hard Mode and etc, dervishes have a very high damage. If you get a dervish with Strength of Honor, Judge's Insight, Aura of Holy Might and any damage dealing elite, the amount of punishment you will inflict on anything, be it Hard or Normal or Nightmare or whatever Mode, will be very impressive. I can get into any area nm & hm. I finished ALMOST everything in nm & hm. But as it is to teamplay in pugs Dervish are last of the pick. Dervish being very powerfull solo is true. That Dervish are very powerfull team members i know too. All is not a problem when i go on H&H or with guildmembers that know my play etc. But teams for elite area's consist always of all professions other than a need for Dervish. The problems there, IMO, aren't anything Isaiah could fix. Players simply don't know what exactly a dervish does; someone who has never played as one and never bothered to learn a minimum about the profession won't have any idea of how useful the dervishes are. It's the same problem mesmer and ritualists have. Plus, dervishes are a bit of a "jack of all trades" profession; in a team, players may think they're better taking a warrior and an elementalist instead of a character that can tank almost as well as a warrior and do damage almost as well as an elementalist (even though dervishes are often better at damage dealing, IMO). Just play :). I agree. The general Teams know ele's have a good aoe damage and assassins swap, necro minions, Warrior tanks, mesmers etc. though. In general the Dervish is popular with good titles for every general mission or as a runner. A Dervish can tank just as well as a warrior, but hits 3 targets and deals a lot more damage to each of them. That, to me, is plenty reason to accept a random Dervish when I'm making a PUG. I think the biggest problem that the Dervish has at the moment is the same as the Assassin had when Factions just came out: most players are/were only average at best with the profession, which results in a lack of popularity in high end PvE. The elite PvE'er doesn't know if he gets a good Dervish or a bad one. A bad warrior or nuker are things you can live with, a bad dervish or assassin however, can be very annoying to say the least. 145.94.74.23 18:54, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

It should probably be noted that "African American" is a ludicrous term which is overly specific. I believe calling someone Black is now socially acceptable because people realised they were being ridiculous and oversensitive as it became impossible to refer to anyone of African descent unless you knew their descendency and their nationality. This is further reduced to the sub-type of Black-Africans to distinguish between the Black people of the Pacific and of Africa. Legendary Survivor...

Hey there, I've been doing a lot of research, and I'm attempting to get Survivor (3) on a Dervish, I noticed you have done this on your Dervish also (and on a lot of your other characters) so I was wondering if you had any tips? just play through the stories without dying. to prevent said event, there's several ways. one is to go absolutely secure by using a support build that lets you act from behind and not risking anything for master rewards in missions. another is to make a disconnect shortcut and keep your hand over it all the time ;) your team should always have someone with Protective Spirit or something similar, and you should yourself always have a last resort to save yourself from death. then there's several other stuff to look at, for example you should be the last to engage combat, run instead of bravely fight etc. another way is to get an invincible build and just farm for the xp. i don't like that one, though, it's too boring. - Y0_ich_halt 12:33, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi Blazing Nightfire, I have not reached this title on my Dervish but on my Pa/As/Nec. Currently I am working on my Female Rit and she reached lvl 1 survivor yesterday. Yo_ich_halt has answered as me here and makes a good reference to all the hints and tips in the Legendary Survivor article. My strategy basically is;..* 1) take secondary monk and use the best self heals, ..* 2) have some players that can help you get through some rough spots with large mobs, ..* 3) play controlled, wait for combined mobs to part before you attack one group, know where the enemy's come from and sometimes play very very slow. (don't rush). Hrm, I don't think it is just a reset, the connection just seems to be unstable for around half an hour to an hour for a period between 10pm-2am nightly. Wouldn't a reset just be a single kachunk off and on, or am I missing something? I'm using wireless so I used to think it was just an instability to do with wireless connections or a driver problem, but my flatmate gets cut out at the exact moment I do. I do actually lose connection, it usually recovers within 30 seconds, but those 30 seconds can often be critical. Perhaps it is simply the difference between wireless and fixed line, are you using a fixed line connection? I'm impressed by the blinding speed, but daily resets at around my peak times are very inconvenient. Wish they reset at like 6am-10am or something, you know, a time when everyone is asleep. All is dedicated but rich?..nah...I just sell every drop/gold item/material/rune drop I get and in Hard Mode Vanquishing over and over again makes you rather..well...fortuned. The Naga was a minipetcode I won with the European Mini Pet Extravaganza.
