Shadowphoenix Spin logo

Is that logo supposed to spin because at the moment it isn't. When it was first uploaded and I went to it it was spinning but now it seems to have stopped completely for no reason. I hadn't even changed pages or refreshed and it just stopped, I've tried reloading and nothing. --Kakarot 21:52, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

gif animations are synchronous over all browser tabs. So when you have that image shown in multiple tabs all do the same, so newer tabs will show only the rest of the animation (or stop in this case). poke | talk 22:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

It seems to be working better now, usually 5 turns before stopping. I had to hold down shift while refreshing since holding ctrl did nothing. Perhaps, then, you should try to think about what you might be doing that is giving people such doubts. What you will do matters not for such decisions, because the people making the decisions can't know that for sure until you do it. What matters is what people think you might do, and simply stating "I'm not going to do anything bad" isn't really very reassuring in that regard. You keep saying "well yes this happened in the past, but it's not going to happen again", but you've yet to really establish a better track record. Not doing something bad doesn't equal doing something exceptionally good. For a bot, the wiki has to place certain trust is a user to carry out bulk edits that won't be looked over by anyone else (hence why all bot edits are hidden in recent changes). That trust has to come through exceptionally good edits, and not just good edits or even no bad edits. -- Brains12 \ talk 12:21, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Guys, there is really no reason to continue this discussion. I understand that my bot will not get the bot flag any time soon and I accept that. The bot is being put to good use somewhere else so there is no point in discussing it, when I prove to the community that I can handle it then I will get the bot flag here.
