- Masks and costumes should appear in all festival arenas, excepting the Costume Brawl. In other PvP formats, they should not. MithTalk 14:26, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- There is a reason you can't wear costumes. It's so you can immediately distinguish the class of your opponent, without having to even click on them. If everyone has one of 6 classless costumes, it becomes hard to tell who is who and what class you're about to face (not that it's impossible, but it still gives the upper hand to a team of White Mantle costume owners as opposed to a team of people who own no costumes). ‽-(eronth) I give up 16:57, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- Notice how it says HATS not costumes,Hats would not dramatically change PvP because you can barley see them at a distance anyways. Also, Costumes would't be a huge deal in low-end PvP (RA, AB ect.) because honestly few people take it srrsly anymore.BurrTheKing 17:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

- Well, at least in dragon arena, it's not like it's really improtant what's the profession. Rollebeetle and costume already covers the model. So the only left is Snowball arena. That leaves us with:
- Dragon Arena: Any costume and hat.
- Snowball arena: Only hats and costume headpieces.
- Rest: No.
- I think that's it. MithTalk 20:24, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- Actually for the devs to be able to consider it you would have to post it as a suggestion in the Feedback namespace.... and we all know there this is going..... -- Wyn talk 20:26, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Seriously Anet?[edit]
Seriously?, this is the best hat idea that you could come up with on Halloween?, this may be the worst halloween hat designed for general GW population, theres no way in hell most male chars are going to use this fruity ass hat. Also none of any other halloween hats are bad compared to this one(none of them also have a negative feedback). Please do the GW community good by including another hat updateWracken 11:32, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- They were busy with the costumes, that's what you get when you have an In-Game Store. Though, I have to say I don't hate it. It's not bad by itself, just in comparison to the other Halloween festive hats.--Itamar 11:39, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- Pretty sure every Halloween "hat" after the original 2005 Pumpkin one had complaints from the overly vocal crowd. I for one, welcome these new "hats". Karuro 11:50, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- Personally, I prefer the cat ears over most of the other "hats" that have been given out over the years, too. And the other hats presumably don't have hateful feedback pages because the feedback page system isn't that old. Go to the talk pages, and you'll find plenty of aNet hate on most of them, just like you'll find here. [EDIT]: Where are you finding a negative feedback for the Furrocious Ears? - If you don't like the hat, don't wear it. Simple as that. You also get free trick or treat bags, and the hats are also free. I've seen lots of male chars wearing the cat ears, and those ears are probably why ANet made the spectercles - for the male population because I don't know of many female chars that would wear those. So it events out. If you don't want the (free) ears, just trash them. At least you didn't have to pay money for them like the costumes. Tender Wolf

But don't sit there and trash the idea. Also, don't act like just because you don't like something means that other people shouldn't be allowed to like that thing or make use of it. 69.182.192.223 17:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- everyone likes steampunk, sir >_>.. anywho, Anet seems to be making an effort to make the holiday hats more of accessories that you might actually wear in game, rather than a ridiculous hat (lion mask) that most people wouldn't wear without it being jokingly done. That said though, I still do quite love wearing my ridiculous holiday hats. They're also being lazy and recycling items from other games. But still, that stuff about accessories. I'm just a bit disappointed that I didn't get any horns... though steampunk goggles doe make up for that nicely, even if their not meant to be steampunk. ~Reez 00:06, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry to burst your bubble, IP, but "don't use it if you don't like it" is absolutely terrible logic. These hats are supposed to have universal appeal, not just appeal to cosplayers and furfags. -Auron 01:28, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

WTB More hate[edit]
GW doesn't revolve around this stereotypical b-tard attitude of hating anything that could possibly be even semi-related to furries. As it happens, Cat girl costumes are incredibly popular. If you haven't noticed that in the past, Oh, Idk, 20 years or so, thats your fault. Not ANet's. If you don't like them perhaps you could wear one of the other million and half peices of headgear floating around in the game. I will personally promise you that a set of cat ears is not going to force every furry in the world to flock to GW and start shouting Kawaii and shit in spamadan. Now, The point: Simmer down. Its not a big deal. --BriarThe Spider 17:10, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Apparently you don't get sarcasm Eronth. The idea is that it doesn't work for you, we get it. Oh well, if they make it so that the festival hats from every past event are available, then it kind of takes away the idea of people trying to "collect" them, doesn't it? As far as "other professions," I wasn't aware that they made festival hats and masks for specific professions. I was under the understanding they were for any profession of any player that happened to be there, and completed the requirements for getting them. 69.182.192.223 17:49, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Professional views[edit]
I am thinking, if you are going to show a certain profession's view, that you should show it in that profession's armor, instead of the costume. (Reposting this here, from the discussion pages on the galleries, so people can see it here as well.) 69.182.192.223 17:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Trivia for the hat[edit]
I think they made a cat ears hat because its Year of the Tiger but then they could've easily created a tiger looking hat. So I could be wrong just guessing... btw I don't like it, looks wussy on my male derv.--Ridz16 01:42, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- Or they're just the ears of a BLACK CAT, who's quite an iconic character in the Halloween setting. Immediately explains why it cannot be dyed (besides the same technicalities like the blindfold) Karuro 14:30, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- Headgear that don't cover the hair or that is not tatto-like can't be died. They are clearly black cat ears. Google images for cat ears and you'll get plenty of cat ear costume images. MithTalk 15:02, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- You guys have a point, which brings me to the question: why now? becuz they could've done it in the previous Halloween events. Isn't it a coincidence (or done on purpose) that they did it this year. After all, Tigers and Black cat belongs to the same family- Felidae. The mystery plot thickens. O_O --Ridz16 01:20, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- So do ocelots, but I don't see any ocelot-skin tunics. The plot thins. elix Omni 03:42, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Except there's no Year of Ocelots; however, I see Celestial Tiger. As others pointed out, black cats are an iconic theme for Halloween. And as I pointed out - why now?. The plot remains thick.--Ridz16 04:29, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Because the designers are all working on GW2 and don't have much time for GW1 and it's a very simple design. Also, John Stumme, the new head of the GW Live Team, is a known weeaboo. The plot thins out, dries up, and you are wrong. elix Omni 04:35, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- You say things that doesn't add up and you say I'm wrong. Not gonna argue with that remark since everyone has their own opinion. But, if they are too busy with gw2 then its a common sense to think that there wont be Halloween hat in the first place. 2010 Year of the Tiger + Black Cat (iconic theme for Halloween) + same Family in animal kingdom = You be the judge if it doesn't add up. But who cares if my theory add up, cuz obviously someone is "pissed" to resort to remarks so I'm just gonna drop this whole trivia thing. Id like to point out that unless you work directly for anet, what you say can also be false, so just becuz you say I'm wrong doesn't mean you are right --Ridz16 05:02, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Have they ever linked Halloween festival masks to the chinese year before? Hell, they don't even link Canthan New Year masks to the chinese year. There is absolutely no reason to think it's anything more than a coincidence. elix Omni 05:05, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

- So do ocelots, but I don't see any ocelot-skin tunics. The plot thins. elix Omni 03:42, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Headgear that don't cover the hair or that is not tatto-like can't be died. They are clearly black cat ears. Google images for cat ears and you'll get plenty of cat ear costume images. MithTalk 15:02, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
(Reset indent) its a coincidence pal. Give it up. --BriarThe Spider 05:33, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Does the new trivia count as a TK leak?[edit]
Just kidding. But seriously, how do we/should we validate something like this? --Riddle 23:34, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Should have been bunny ears[edit]
Wouldn't that be interesting to see on a bunch of mesmers and eles? :) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.233.246.241 (talk).
- The price of that is, you'd also see it on a bunch of male warriors.... -- Hong 15:30, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
XOR[edit]
I've just been dealt a devastating blow. How can I hope to carry on with Guild Wars? I've just created two, superhot, identical, female rits (was going to turn them into merc healers - yin & yang - they complete me. Meow! Yeah baby!) and wanted each to have the Furrolicious ears and also the tinted glasses. They would have looked so hot that the Kardashians would have welcomed them into the klan Imagine my utter disappointment when I found out, the hard way, that they are mutually exclusive. You can have the ears xor the glasses but not both. Why Arenanet, why? Why fail over the little things? What is Kim going to say now? Probably /taunt Shaft Saint Claire (talk) 11:05, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Tinted_Spectacles might work with kitty ears fine, or maybe I'm wrong. Only the other hat won't https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Spectercles Durp da durp (talk) 19:33, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
