Gallery?

I'm wanting to add a gallery section between ===White Mantle=== and ==References== to include all of the images we have gotten out of this little viral campaign (including the facebook emblems, and not including wallpapers, dunno about the subliminal images in the slideshows though), but I'm unsure how to format it. I have all the images saved on my computer, and can upload all the missing ones, but I'd rather wait until a gallery is added, if one will be. On a different but related topic: I'll be making a progression image of the /warinkryta page, much like this image. To show the progression of the blurriness for those who missed it. -- Konig/talk 10:37, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

if you could see them, they weren't subliminal. –Jette 10:41, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Subliminal means that they flash by quickly. You technically have to see them, but at first (and maybe multiple) glance, you can't make it out. Freeze frame, you can make them out easily. -- Konig/talk 10:48, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I'll make a gallery when I get back from town if you want. If you can't wait until then you might be able to work something out from looking at this page. Also, unfortunately the image on this page is the second War in Kryta one, I missed the first, unless you have it saved? --Santax (talk · contribs) 11:12, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I've sorted one out from the coding on that page, but i'm missing most the images so Konig will need to upload those. Thanks Santax. Shadow Runner 11:19, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I've added the ones I could find. If there get to be too many images perhaps you could create a category for them and link out to that and keep only the most interesting images on the main page? -- Aspectacle 11:29, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
That would be a good idea, but I have no idea how to go about it. I'll have a look around and try stealing the coding from current catagories. Shadow Runner 11:32, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Added all but the first War in Kryta one - I'll upload a combined version later, unless you guys want them individually. Regarding the category thing, that might work out best eventually. @Shadow Runner: All you do is add the category to the images, then there's a gallery on the category automatically. -- Konig/talk 11:38, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Already sorted under "Category:War In Kryta images". Hopefully that'll work... Shadow Runner 11:42, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps putting them all in Category:War In Kryta would be better? -- Konig/talk 11:48, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Thought that would have been a better move. *Facepalms* Shadow Runner 11:49, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I've moved them. I just hope I don't have to do it again with MORE images. Shadow Runner 11:54, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Weapon Sets/Armor (and 5 year old characters still get minipets or Unique Types of this Armor/Weapon). What about everyone else? --Neil2250 , Render Lord User Neil2250 sig icon5.jpg 11:30, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Armor skins purchasable through the store, minipets, of course (mini Great Destroyer please :D), Hoping the new Shining Blade Camp will become an official outpost, there's just too much open space out there. Maybe a new BMP helping to bridge gw and gw2 (doubtful). I wouldn't mind a bmp showcasing the events that take place here. --Ravencroft0 11:42, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
And me thinks, it would be added new mission, like an AB, but with Shining Blade and White Mantle cO And ofc sum costumes^^--I Unhealable I 12:12, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I don't think that we'll be able to join the White Mantle. In any way. -- Konig/talk 23:28, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I bet we get to participate in some way in the return of Salma to the throne, and the obvious ensuing (and/or preceding) bloodshed. Also costumes and minipets. Also, given that we can get costumes of both Shining Blade and White Mantle (presumably from the flyer), I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sort of Wintersday-style in-outpost competition between the two sides to get the costumes. Like each district has to vote for one side or the other for some reason, and the district that votes for one side all gets the corresponding costume. And if I'm right you all owe me 5k each. Every one of you who reads this. And no skipping out! Because I'll know and I'll track you down all Jay and Silent Bob style. (Satanael | talk) 23:43, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I dont think we will ever see full costumes being given away free. It's just HIGHLY unlikely. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 00:10, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Another Step

I saw mention about a the War in Kryta page being hidden in the Blade Camp image, but not how. This is how: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/showpost.php?p=121632&postcount=1760 --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 16:52, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Some people noticed that the Blade Camp image had a hint of a seemingly red tinge to it (although I don't know how, I cannot seem to see/notice it at all), so someone put a red layer over it and then just used saturation to bring the red out of the image (or something along those lines, I'm not a PhotoShop master, sorry =P) and the /warinkryta text was revealed. Obviously this was text for another domain as the recent clues had the same as well. Hope this has somehow helped. ^_^ Woops, I totally misunderstood what you wrote. Please disregard. I have edited the article. -- My Talk Lacky 17:17, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Grass

I noticed the reference to my comment about grass at the end of the page. XD My comment was actually in reference to the April Fool's Day update note about the grass texture, which was playing off of a heated discussion on IncGamers last summer after the Guild Wars 2 teaser trailer was launched. I spoke to Linsey about the difference in the appearance of the grass in the new instance of Talmark Wilderness, versus the old version. She reports that there were no Eye of the North effects used in Talmark. What actually happens is that there is a small amount of the landscape that is procedurally generated whenever a new map is created. So there are "naturally" occurring differences whenever a player loads into the map. So she says that any differences in the grass in Talmark Wilderness after the addition of the Shining Blade camp has to do with this procedural generation of flora. :-) --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png

Okay, removing the reference to your comment then. -- Konig/talk 21:05, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

*cough* Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 02:07, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

The middle images may or may not be (not positive on the source) the heads of the leaders/lead characters of each group. My assumption would be that the Shining Blade lead character is Alari Doubleblade (mentioned on Facebook) and soon enough I'm sure the Mantle's lead character will be announced on the Shining Blade's Facebook. I'm not sure what all of this implies, but I'm assuming some sort of storyline where we align ourselves with one of these two characters to battle the other.
Again, I'm not positive on this part though. A lot of this is guessing with just a few facts. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 02:19, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

there are new pictures on facebook for both the blade and the mantle. Has anyone scanned the coeds on them yet? Yes we understand its fan art. I just wonder if they tried to slip one by on us.75.136.139.55 04:43, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

They are the same as the originals, except one fan made on that leads to http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c1/En-us-obey.ogg, but it doesnt appear to have anything to do with the official stuff. (This is just a quick look, I haven't tried decoding anything, or checking saturation levels, or run the images through anything. This was just a QR code check) --Kairu 05:23, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

That's it up and working guys. Is it just me or does this seem like a very long lead in to a new shining blade costume and white mantle costume. look at the pictures on the relevant pages and it looks awfully like these are gonna be new purchasable outfits. (Edit conflict)Okay, I'm fairly sure that the War Chronicles should get its own page. It seems like it will be updated now and then, based on the April 8 and the ending. I'll work on a new version of the War in Kryta page in my user space. There's two ways I'm thinking of working it out (one way keeps it all here, the other splits it between this page, the Shining Blade page, the White Mantle page, and the War Chronicles-to-be page). I'm also thinking that Murro=first name of Loremaster Ermenred and Confessor Isaiah being Justiciar Isaiah. -- Konig/talk 02:25, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
"Justiciar Isaiah may possibly be the new leader on the White Mantle following the High Councils' deaths." Good call. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 02:30, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

would've been better if they were just white mantle armors, imo. I would probably have paid $10 for justiciar hablion's armor, and maybe confessor dorian's would've been cool for monks or summat... but this one just doesn't impress as much. ~~~~ 02:29, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

To those complaining of the design of the costumes: The White Mantle ones match perfectly what a Confessor's armor looks like (see Confessor Dorian and the Obey flyers). The Shining Blade one fits the blade perfectly - guerrilla tactic rebels, I.e., assassins/thieves. I don't see what's so wrong about them. IMO, they're much better than any NPC model - especially the SB one. Though I can see the argument for having a WM warrior costume. -- Konig/talk 03:07, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
How about Confessor Isaiah? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.136.139.55 (talk) at 08:36, 09 April 2010 (UTC).
I think dorian has poofier pants than the ones on the poster. still, I suppose we won't know for sure what they look like in-game until they're for sale, since it's just concept art or w/e. –Jette 03:37, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Well of course they won't be exactly the same. -- Konig/talk 04:14, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

No, they don't. Those armors are white and gold. The best looking one is the blackest one. That is, for now, the Kurzick one. That's not my opinion. It's a RULE in gaming. For males, the best armor is the darkest one. For females, the one that covers less skin. I didn't make the rules, I just OBEY them. The only good thing about their models is those huge capes they have. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 15:45, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion

Methinks they should actually make this thing part of the gameplay, like AB for Proph. That would be quite epic. 72.222.230.212 05:38, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

It is kinda in the process of becoming not only "official" lore, but certain aspects of it are actually in game already. And things have been (and will hopefully continue to be) periodically updated/introduced as far as we know. --Kairu 05:48, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
I doubt that there will be a new AB, to be honest. But this actually is gameplay. Peacekeepers and the Shining Blade camp are two things that were added. -- Konig/talk 06:20, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
AB for Prophecies? I like the idea of fighting a battle where we know who the bad guys are. With Kurz and Luxs, you never really knew, as they both displayed douche bag tendencies. Krytan Allegiance Battles. lol I wonder what the price tag on Beetletun will be... --Ravencroft0 08:15, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

A game can keep its servers running even if it's dead. I think the IP meant that this will be the last hurrah for GW content updates, and he's most likely right. Although, if you check out Codex, then you'll see that the game is mostly dead. You can sync two teams there now and play RR over and over again for points. That's how bad it's gotten. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 20:13, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
While, obviously, GW does not any more pull the crowds it used to have when it started, I disagree with your assessment. I played a newish Ele I started up a bit ago today. And not only did I play Hell's Precipice in a group with 6 humans (and we could have had one more, but needed a hero for winter), a bit later, I also ended up watching the Consulate Docks cutscene once more, because one of the people in my PUG had never seen it before. So yes, it is slowly having less people play, but it is still far from dead. --Xeeron 20:50, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

You can't really judge based on the Codex Arena. I've never felt the urge to play "Codex". Yes it's probably because I'm crap, but fact is > 90% of the players are crap too (that's just how it works), so go figure why Codex is dead except when it comes up in the Zaishen Challenge. FWIW, even though I didn't play many Hero Battles, it just seems more interesting than Codex even just as a spectator - better to watch a battle where people control heroes well, than to watch a bunch of cripples and amputees fighting - which is basically what the Codex Arena is. 60.48.225.254 14:07, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) This won't be the last update to GW. If it was, there would of been no point to the Test Krewe and there would be little point in the upcoming Mesmer PvE update. It has been said, I believe, that as long as GW servers are running, the Live Team will continue to produce new content. I believe it was Linsey that said that. -- Konig/talk 02:15, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Edit: And I know that Linsey wants to keep GW1 running until all 12 Celestial Miniatures are out because they were already made (though this might have changed since the Celestial Summoning Stone was made). -- Konig/talk 02:16, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

It's not impossible, Ultima Online has been going forever, and I think some people still play Everquest even though it got a sequel. It wouldn't suprise me if they did keep the GW engine running as long as possible, and if that was a long time. This could well be the end of significant new content though. 86.177.123.84 21:38, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I didn't claim it to be a bad thing, it's just interesting that it turns up in GW at the same time as surveilance goes up and repressive laws are passed more and more, which is why I am definitely on the side of teh Shining Blade in this conflict so far :) I totally agree that over-sensitive persons with delusional images of how children are and what they need to grow up to be "normal" is one of the biggest problems of today's society... I'm going to have to say that both Neil and Winterbay is right. Writers, artists, game developers - they all get some form of influence from reality. And we know very well that Anet loves to take reality as a reference to making Anet. Now, that said, I don't think that this can be tied to any particular civil war. Many of them work, really. You can also easily tie it to a bunch of religious wars. It's nothing that uncommon either. -- Konig/talk 12:59, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
