This is the first explorable area where new players will encounter hostile enemies. The Mantids (excluding a few in Zhengjo Temple), Kappa, and Naga in the area are passive until attacked first, but the Sensali, the Yetis, and the Crimson skull band encountered in the northern mountainous paths do attack on aggro.

[edit] Notes
- Complete exploration of this area will yield about 3.3% to the Canthan Cartographer title track.
- Vanquisher runs of this area without active quests yielded roughly 130 foes or so. Discounting quest influences, it has been reported to range from 105 to 152.
- The minimal number of creatures in this area appears to be influenced by the quest A Strange Request during the Dragon Festival.
- A few Kappa will jump out of the waters if you approach too close the southeastern waterfront.
- Similarly, a few Naga will show up as you cross the bridge over Lake Puang.
- A single hidden Lesser Oni can be found a short distance northwest from the exit into Tsumei Village.
- After Vanquishing this area you get about 680 experience and gold.
For non-Factions characters, Wulk Cragfist still spawns hostile and turns into an ally after being defeated, despite the fact that the quest Revenge of the Yeti cannot be acquired by non-Factions characters.
If you use an AoE damage skill next to an ambient ox it will turn hostile with a health bar over its head, but cannot attack, they have been reported of dropping loot if you body block them then kill them with Lava Font
Inside Zhengjo Temple, two Mantid Hatchlings will attack the Mantid Monitor that they spawn near.
