Serious Internet connection Ping problems.

Over the last 3 or 4 days my system has been having serious internet ping problems. Have GW been doing things to drastically slow internet connections and ping

My Characters are seriously struggling to go where I ask them without going backwards and forwards and sideways, then slowing down, running on the spot etc

I don't think you could be getting the lag from any of ANet's servers; not anything nearly that bad, at least.

There's a few things you can do on your own system to try to speed it up. Off the top of my head, I would suggest going to "Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup", and use that to clean out temporary internet files. That can sometimes cause lag if there's too many files clogging up your system.

What sort of internet connection do you have? Dial-up, DSL, Cable... wired or wireless? Perhaps someone here has a suggestion... -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, GvG doesn't have any restrictions on campaigns or anything. So long as you're in a guild, and meet the requirements to start a battle (you'll need a Guild Hall for one, and at least four guild members to start a battle), then there's no other important things you need. Check the article I just linked, it should answer any questions you've got on the subject.

Weapon upgrade components

You can only obtain weapon upgrade components by salvaging them yourself or trading with other players. The there main trading towns are Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center and Kamadan. -- Gordon Ecker 06:26, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Repairing Data Archive?

Instead of normal downloading of updates, loading data and starting the client, the program started repairing the data archive (My Translation, original (german): Datenarchiv) a minute ago....this happened once befor, a few weeks ago. Question about hall of monument

Hello. How to delete elite armor from the hall of monument. I have 2 elite armors, and i don't want to see one of it in the Hall. And if it's not possible to delete now, I hope that it will be able in the future.

to tannakhai temple

If he does get stuck like that and you can't seem to make him move (talk to him, run away, maybe try to "push" him), then just restart the quest (go back to town and head out again). Charrslayer Sword Bug

according to the wiki the charrslayer sword you can have crafted at the eye is bugged. my question is: is it still bugged and if so what precisely is wrong with it!?

I assume it's still bugged; nobody's removed the notice from the article, and none of the updates have mentioned it being fixed.

From what's written on the article, the weapon does minimum damage against non-Charr foes, even if you meet the requirements. Still works just fine against Charr though.

multiple players

If you add people to your party in a town, then they'll still be in your party when you leave the town and head out into an explorable area. GETTING banned

Do you directly ban a player if a "modertaor"(player) claims you've done something wrong? because ive had threats of that, like one of my borthers got mad at me one day and out of no where he starts yelling i stole his money.Then a "moderator" came up to me and said im sending a report to anet to get you banned for stealing his money.What i want to know is do you just directly ban someone like that, with jsut the trust of a moderator seeing how they might not jsut liek a player and just do that to get them away for good. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:99.142.53.71 (talk).

They aren't moderators, they're regular players using either the in-game /report command or the support form on plaync.com. I'm pretty sure they check the logs before banning. -- Gordon Ecker 06:06, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Boreas Seabed is not accessable

For some reason, this place can't be reached for me. It always stops at the load screen. There was one instance in which I got in, but had massive lag that made it completely unplayable. I was hit with an 007 error once during the loading screen, then 058 error. I'm sure my connection and firewall are not the problem. I've been trying for about 15 min, and I'm wondering if this isn't my end. Can anyone else confirm, or if it's me, tell me how to fix it? --People of Antioch talk 03:08, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Nope, but I have a horribly vague memory of something similar popping up before. Just try again now (as it's been almost 9 hours). Most likely was a routing issue from your ISP to Boreas Seabed's server, since your connection worked fine and Boreas Seabed did too. — Galil 11:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

You can call out your build in towns and outposts by holding the control key and clicking the skill bar, but it doesn't work inside combat areas. -- Gordon Ecker 06:06, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually, if you call it before you go out into a combat area, you can scroll up, look at the build and click "send to chat", and it will send the build to people in the combat place. I think this person is asking HOW, and for me it's CTRL+CLICK on your bar.- Vanguard 14:01, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Getting to Bone Palace

How do u get into the Bone Palace in Nightfall

PvP Battle Question

Can you choose who to play against in PvP battles? Are your opponents always randomly chosen?--128.226.221.85 04:20, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

In short, no - you can't really choose your opponents. Most PvP in Guild Wars has an aspect of random to it. For GvG you can do a planned scrimmage but only for those in the same guild (and their guests) or alliance. A scrimmage can be 1 on 1 if you like. As to randomly chosen, no not always - the final stages of tournaments have planned matches for the teams involved. GvG and Hero ladder matches attempts matches of opponents based on the ladder rank. Heroes Ascent is random-ish but in later maps you get placed against the teams at the same stage as you. So you don't have control over who you play against but there is method to the selection of the team. --Aspectacle 04:42, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Using artifacts and energy items.

When I get an item such as a Healing artifact and try to put it in the off hand of a two handed weapon there is a red circle and bar across it. What does this mean? Does it mean the artifact is non-operational? I am a new player.98.199.122.161 17:25, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Aye it is not operational. You can store an artifact there whilst using a two handed weapon, but as a staff is two handed, you are not actually wielding the artifact and do not get the effects of it. To utilise it correctly you need to use a one handed weapon in your right hand, like a wand/sword/axe etc. --Lemming 17:27, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

glitch

my character is a necro trying to get his armor in pre-searing ascalon and the skull trader is not in the catacombs where he is suppose to be. it shows the icon in the radar but he isnt there is there anyway to fix this???

Just go north from Barridin's Estate and go over to the right if you hit a cliff. Zone into the catacombs, and the skull trader is pretty much right in front of you. ~ | Pae - Talk | 02:44, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Elite Tomes

I'm trying to obtain an elite assassin tome. As i understand, i need to kill an assassin boss in hard mode. Can someone please confirm; Will any assassin boss do? Do i need to kill with a char of primary or secondary assassin prof? How random is the drop of elite tomes?

Any primary Assassin boss can drop the tome in hard mode, your own profession doesn't matter.

I don't know the drop rate, but it's fairly slim. I've farmed other tomes before, with varying degrees of luck... farming an elite Elementalist tome took somewhere around ten tries, farming a Mesmer tome took longer then that (actually, it never dropped and I got one from a chest instead). Best bet is simply to find a boss, farm him (solo) for a few times, and see if you get lucky. How do you add an attribute to spectacles in GW:EN?

I just got my tinted spectacles and I need to know how to give them an attribute since they have the "item attribute +1 (stackable)" property. Any help would be appreciated.

Transfer items from one campaign to another

Is there a way I can take my items from my nightfall char. and use them with my Factions char.?

you can put them into your Xunlai Chest (i.e. your storage). All your characters will be able to take those items out. but to use them, the items must not be customized. - Y0_ich_halt 19:48, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Drunkard title

I know that you need to drink 3 lvl 1 drink to start getting credit toward the drunkard title, my question is, do you drink all 3 drinks in that one min, or do you drink 1 after each 1 min ended for a total of 3 min for the 3 drinks? I know that it cap is lvl 5 intoxication, so does that mean I have to stop after drinking 5 drinks or does it means that don't go beyond 5 drinks, so drink 5 drinks, let the 1 min end and drink another lvl 1 to stay in between lvl 3 - lvl 5 intoxication? thanks132.239.90.242 20:24, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Drunk levels decay at a rate of 1 per minute, so if you only drank a lvl 1 every minute, you would stay at level one. You would need to drink all 3 at once, which would give you 1 minute of drunk at level 3. Then you could keep drinking 1 per minute to maintain your drunk level. --Valshia 21:40, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

15 attributes...

...so i have a lvl 20 r/mo in propicies. i have taken him to nightfall and to factions.

im having trouble with the 2nd +15 attribute points quest...

ive done all the required stuff.

but when i go to the lady in drocks she has no quest for me. is there a way to fix this?

Check The Hero's Challenge article and be sure that you meet all the requeriments. (including changing your secondary class to a different one from the one you started with, iirc).--Fighterdoken 21:30, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Just doublecheck that you have, indeed:

• Beaten the Doppelganger (Augury Rock mission)
• Finished one of the secondary-class test in the desert or switched to a different secondary than the one you had when leaving Pre-Searing.
• Started and finished "The Hero's Journey" (as in, no longer in your quest long)-
• Not done other 15-attribute points quests in Factions or nightfall (not sure if you even can, but still XD).

another serious ping problem

that was a good suggestion clear out temp internet files. however the las couple of weeks hawaii has been having thier share of ping problems and i have cleaned up everything and it is still happening. not just the occasional rubber band effect but serious freeze to where i have to reboot the comp in order to get back in the game. i have cable with high speed road runner dual processor on comp so i have speed and all the room you would want. i read extensively that areanet and other servers of the game are going back and forth accusing each other of the fault. someone should look into it. they say no not us its upstream no downstream yadda yadda. now to my question iam non nightfall chara trying to get to sunspear sanctuary unfortunately i have unlocked kamadan and i have done sunspear in kryta already. any suggestions on this one. pls tks70.95.155.138 15:20, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Try running the game on minimal settings until the latency issues are solved. As for getting to the Sunspear Sanctuary, do Consulate Docks to get to Kourna, then do Hunted!, and you should be at Sunspear Sanctuary. Calor 16:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Depends on where you are. If you're a factions character, you don't get experience points from prophecies missions. If you are level 20, you will not gain exp for kills 6 levels below you. That's all I know.- Vanguard 19:01, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

kilroy stoneskin

A quick question.... Anyone out there having this issue with the Irontoe dungeon in hardmode:

Kilroy always runs out in front and aggros all of the bad guys and dies, which leaves me without his shout to assist in the battle. The one spot before the room where there is like 20 of them in a semi circle is where he always aggros the ten or so baddies. I've tried to run ahead and pull 1 or 2 at a time, but he just blazes on by and commits suicide :P I end up getting ko'd while trying to clear out his body and its getting annoying.72.24.236.77 22:13, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

I've found it easier to just rush in yourself, and aggro everything before he does. Way easier keeping yourself alive and having him pounce on stuff than it is to hope he will manage to stay alive. Especially since you get healed after each kill, he doesn't. — Galil 00:24, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Repairing/ new builds on Guild Wars

I have noticed that an increasing amount of repairing and new builds keep coming. Almost everytime I log in to play, there is either a repair or when I start to play, the continual annoucement asking me to log off because of a new build seems to be more often. What is going on and will there be even more in the future?

Ursan bleedthrough

Does Ursan blessing revert everyone back to a common armor level before adding the armor buff, or is there a definite advantage to using a warrior or paragon to achieve higher armor levels?

Also... if using a mesmer and having the insignias that give armor buffs per signet, will those insignias still give the armor bonus AFTER switching to bear form?

It's +20 armor, so it should stack with other skills up to +25 and stack with everything else with no limit. -- Gordon Ecker 09:07, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Armor stays as it is when you use Ursan if I remember correctly, so Warriors do have higher armor then other classes while in Ursan Blessing (if that's what you're asking).

The Mesmer insignia will still work, but it will count your current skillbar (the Ursan one), not your "old" skillbar. So it shouldn't give any extra armor bonuses overall. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 14:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Is presearing stand-aloan?

In the sense of being just one big block, yes, it's stand alone, so having the other expansions will not change the content of pre-searing. But you can still leave pre-searing (can't return, though) and play the rest of the Prophecies campaign (from which Pre-Searing is a part of).--Fighterdoken 18:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

White Screen

Ok, I've been have some trouble with the game since about the end of February. I'll be playing and the screen either goes half white or entirely white. The only way for it to go back to normal is if i restart my computer and enter the game. It's really been a pain in the but when I'm halfway through a mission and I can't see what I'm doing.

Turn down the level of graphics; it's probably your computer freezing because the video card isn't good enough to display some parts of GW. Calor 19:14, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

The most powerful that exists there would be the Glacial Blade (bonus weapon only attainable if you have the EoTN pre-release bonus) or glitched gold/green weapons if there still exist some (but they would cost you an arm, and eye, and your first born). I think the highest (non-glitched) sword that you can get your hands into would be any purple that does around 10-16 in damage (specially with a +18% to charr mod). Crystal Desert/Droknars Forge

Hey. After doing the mission The Dragons Lair, and going to Droknars Forge, I quit playing on Proph and moved to factions. After beating factions I want to go back and do the Proph missions. I figured I had to talk to Glint, But all she says is "Your Ascension is not the end, but rather a new beginning. Those who have hellped you get this far are now in great peril. Go to them. Put right what has gone so terribly wrong. I will be here when you return. When you have fulfilled your destiny." The Zaishen Chest Drops

I have been using faction to buy a Zaishen Key. i have bought 4 and 3/4ths of the time i get Crème Brûlée. is there some trick to getting items like armor or weapons from the chest or is it just luck of the draw OMG i play guild wars 22:11, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Any armor with 80 armor rating. The only real thing differing the armors in the latter parts of the game are appearances. See Warrior armor for the various armors and their appearances. — Galil 04:12, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

There's other armor sets with the same crafting cost, and Vabbian armor and Obsidian armor are significantly more expensive if you include the material cost. -- Gordon Ecker 04:22, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

so no 80 armour is better than other 80 aumor

um... if "better" means more protection, yes (as in, 'yes, no 80 armor is better than another 80 armor). why would one armor with a rating of 80 be better than a different armor with the same rating? expensive armor is only there as a gold sink, i.e. to make rich people spend their money on stuff that doesn't give them an advantage to other players. - Y0_ich_halt 21:49, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
