Bug Fix[edit]
Guess that was random, my Grenth Regalia was never buggy.MystiLefemEle 02:45, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- If all of them were buggy then that would be taken care of before release. Biz 03:24, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I never had that problem either, If anything I had clipping issues with the long hair with the Grenth Regailia. Did anyone else Notice this? Organoidnova 03:56, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
No changes to Shadow Form[edit]

- Give it a week or two. This is the usual monthly tourney update (which everyone should be used to but complains about) where as the proper skill updates happen about mid-month LynxRavenRaide 07:20, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I think people are upset because there were no skill updates for December, unless you count snowball. Vili 点 07:22, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I think people have the right to be a bit narked off considering were told a skill balance every 2 months, and by my reckoning its 5 months atm.

- Im a heavy user oif shadow form AND 600/smite and I know anet will Smiters Boon (PvP) them, but I want to see the other skills get balanced.
- Infact I'd bet 50k that the only skills to get modified effect Shadow Form and 600/smiteReaper94 07:41, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I give leeway for those times when there are events (Halloween and Wintersday are pretty close together. The last update was back in September (4 months ago) but we did have the reworking of the PvE hench skills and addition of PvP henchies, plus the aforementioned events, plus the addition of Dhuum... shall I go on? That isnt mentioning the fact that this update (tourny rotation) happens every month so people know it is coming... As I said, though, give it a week or two and the skill update will happen. Skill updates usually happen mid-month, not with the monthly tourny rotation. LynxRavenRaide 09:55, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm disappointed as well. I was hoping for a SF nerf/change - for real, it's overdue. Also hoping for some more Ranger nerfs, maybe restrict them from using bows or something. -Ninjatek 21:05, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

- I know this is going to sound completely crazy but, despite how I like Shadowform currently I'm hoping it's dealt with properly (not boon'd, turned into something just as viable but not ToA breaking like it is now). I want the day to come when I can log onto a character and decide to farm UW for the new Dhuum stuff and whatever, without needing to conform to the only party type in existence. It's a total pipe dream because as soon as SF gets nerfed, something else will be used and the QQ fest starts again except they'll be screaming another skill name instead of Shadowform.
- I'm telling you, some creative area design can stop power-farming speed-clear groups dead (Obstacles that require certain abilities/things, smart enemies, non-standard bosses). I haven't yet even entered the UW since Dhuum mainly due to the fact that it didn't seem to stop the UWSC and I was too lazy to learn it again. So I don't know if Dhuum was a step in the right direction towards this kind of creativity though from what I've heard/seen, people aren't impressed and the power-farming has brushed him off.
- But yeah, waer skillz updatz? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 21:13, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
End to updated FlashMod?[edit]
Since graphics.dll is now disabled.. will it end FlashMod? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.0.128.19 (talk).
- Eh? What does that dll do? Am I missing something? Can someone explain what that was about? — Sixshot 06:44, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- It could be a variety of things, multiple mods use that hook. I think it's safe to say they are trying to stop the API & botting. — PmaN 06:48, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- To use FlashMod from now on, you will need to use a Dll Injector (google). --212.242.161.131 07:30, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- Which brings them to their next problem, stopping botting and what not will be an uphill battle for Anet. — PmaN 07:44, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

End to KSMod and HR Textures?[edit]
Since this last update, the KSMod by Kunz[[1]] I've been using (along with allegedly +18,500 other users) does not work anymore. I agree with an update that makes botting harder but what's wrong with using a mod to make a game have better graphics? I'm additionally annoyed by the fact that there doesn't seem to be a way to resolve this as Kunz hasn't updated his mod since September 2009, and seems unlikely (?) to do so now. It then follows that any solution would only come from the developers...Nefeli of Mirrors
- Since AreanaNet does not support mods nothing can be done. Just hope the mod gets updated. --Dominator Matrix 13:43, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- While it is true that ANet doesn't support mods, it's also true that the low-res textures in outposts are horribly ugly...I want my High Res textures back...the stuff is all in-game, so why doesn't ANet offer an option to show high-res textures? Most PCs that can run GW are up to it...--Aquila Noctis 14:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

- Thank you for the link I added my comment there as well. My only worry is whether this will actually be looked into by the developers. It seems to me it would benefit all users regardless of profession, guild, PvE/PvP preferences and thus should be given attention in due course. -Nefeli of Mirrors
Costume fixes[edit]
Looks like they botched this one, kids! Dwayna's costume has the exact same issues as the Grenth one but apparently they didn't think that was worth fixing... whoops? :) -- Elv 17:37, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- Someone forgot to boost.--64.237.137.195 19:23, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've heard people saying that neither costume was fixed. In the character select screen, I still have all kinds of weird things happen. Karate Jesus 20:59, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- No they'll fix them one by one so it looks like they're updating the game more often. 92.0.140.119 21:02, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't know why they can fix things like this within a week but when there's an extremely obvious flaw in character design, it goes absolutely unnoticed for the rest of space/time. Seriously, fix my damn paragon's hair I can just go get another costume from the vendor. I can't get another level 20 15k paragon from a vendor. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 21:53, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- They fix things like this first because it's something people pay real money for. Extra hairstyles and fancy armour came with the game as "extras" and so are not directly paid for... not quite as high priority. Costumes not working might make people not buy them, art clipping dating back to 2006 won't affect much now. I think that's how they reason, anyway. I wish they'd finally fix all those clipping issues! My Mesmer can't use any offhands because they pierce her thigh. -.-*
- In other news, is it still the case that white costumes turn up in some sort of ugly grey on the character select screen? -- Elv 11:56, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Texmod[edit]
Tested GW with texmod running full cartography made easy, no problems. Not sure about other ones thou(e.g. Dark Glass). Batchie 22:47, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
- Disabling the loading of graphics.dll makes no difference to TexMod since it uses a completely different mechanism to adjust the textures the game uses, so all TexMod packages should function as well as they did before this update. On the other hand, if you were using KSMod to get high-res player textures in towns and a TexMod package that modified those textures, then presumably you will see a difference - but only the same one that you see for the non-modified textures. Anybody got a proper answer for this case? -- Splodge of Cat 08:22, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- If you made mods to them then yes you won't be seeing them anymore since the lower res texture is actually a totally different texture complete with different texture address and so forth. 69.248.175.25 08:10, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
forcing injection of graphics.dll[edit]
is so not pro, there are pro uses for it, like making guild wars look pretty and pro, not just those unpro autoit rupt bots. Kurz Hates Challenge 21:00, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
- what is the point of disabling the file if it can be forced to be injected? It just means the people that release GW bots have to design an injector and release it with the bot this update just ruins things like KSmod and at best annoys botters. gg plaync you just annoyed most of the legit gw community. people that create bots usually have the brain power to design an injector and all it takes is to re-release the bot to botters and theres a work around but for legit players like myself we dont know how to build an injector and have to suffer for it, the best solution would be to perma ban any account using a bot and seeming as plaync know botting is occurring they know how to detect a bot meaning innocent players doing what a bot does wont be affected but of course they wont do that. --211.26.200.189 13:56, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Is there not a way that ANet can detect clients that have injected the dll? I've heard they (or perhaps Blizzard) can scan client memory allocation for bots, etc, but I could be wrong. If they can detect an injected dll, this update lets them swing the banhammer far and wide (for better or for worse). -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 02:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm looking into a workaround that's effective and, ideally, useless for botting. KSmod was awesome and I'd love to have the high-res textures back, but I'm not willing to risk the banhammer and use an injector in case they do scan for injected DLLs (technically possible, don't know if they do or plan to). Fortunately, unlike running a bot, I think that the texture mod shouldn't require an extra DLL to be loaded. Don't want to get too into the details because I don't want to encourage anyone to start botting, though! I'll see how things turn out. --Tadjinar 08:28, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- It's sad Arenanet hurts a useful function because they're too lazy to add it to the game themselves. ~~000.00.00.00~~ 08:47, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

- Ok, so you can do the high-res mod yourself pretty easily, but in a kind of intrusive way (you have to change a byte in gw.exe-- not cool). On the other hand- from what I saw of the code (though I didn't look very hard at it) it should be trivial for the devs to add such an option. Here's hoping. We should probably make some noise and let them hear that we want it as an option. --Tadjinar 04:00, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
