Screenshot folder

Hi, I've been wondering how I can change the default folder in which screenshots are saved... Do I have to mess with the .dat file ? Or is there something much easier ? Thank you in advance. 212.198.197.116 08:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

As far as I know there isn't a way to change that w/o some serious coding. If you want easier access why not just make a shortcut to the screenshots folder? Also, don't mess with the .dat file you can break your client, and possibly break the EULA. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 15:07, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I didn't know that, I was sure there was a way to change that^^ Don't worry, I'd never touch something I don't know, which is why I asked in the first place. It's just that I'd prefer my screenshots to be saved on the D disk instead of C, since I have more space there but... I guess I'll just move the screenshots from time to time XD Thank you for your answer. 212.198.197.116 15:20, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make it automatic, you could code a relatively simple program that automatically moves the files to the desired location... but that could easily be more trouble than it's worth. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 16:46, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
It would be much easier to simply remap your My Documents folder to be located on your D: drive. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 16:51, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
That's assuming 212 has vista or win7. But ya that would be much easier. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 16:54, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I forgot where XP stored them. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 16:59, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
This site [1] has info on how to change the location of the folder for vista or win7 just in case 212 doesn't know. XP saves it on the local game directory... I guess you can move the entire game folder to another drive. --Lania ElderfireUser Lania Elderfire pinkribbon.jpg 17:08, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

F11 will bring up the Options panel, where you can then click on the 'Sound' tab and adjust the Sound Option sliders. Alternatively, you can press the 'Reset All' button at the bottom of the Sound panel and it will reset all sounds to the default setting.--Wingsy 11:34, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to know how to name your Hero's pets. I tried typing in /name pet ______ but it only names my pet, and if I take off the pet, it would appear "You don't have a pet." Or something like that.

So please answer and help, thank you. 99.252.163.223 17:44, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Password incorrect

I haven't played Guild Wars in about a year and now I'm trying to sign on and it says that my character name or password may be incorrect. I know both my name and password are right! What is this about? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.237.19.248 (talk).

Sorry, but one of them isn't. It may be simply that you are entering one or the other incorrectly (i.e. check your Caps-Lock key). Worst case is that someone changed your password for you. If you feel that you've exhausted your other options, contact support. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 00:03, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Canthan Character In Nightfall

My assassin has beat Nightfall, but i'm trying to get Protector of Elona, and cant access Jokunar Diggings or Blacktide Den.

    • He can access the outposts, he cant get into the missions, even if someone else brings their required hero and trries to start it.

I've tried to do the storyline, but I've already done it. Any help?

--Raving --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.231.47.204 (talk).

There shouldn't be any issue, so long as you have the required hero to enter Jokanur Diggings (Melonni) and Blacktide Den (Tahlkora). What kind of error message do you, or the person with the hero get? What's your Sunspear rank? -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 00:00, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

It just says im not allowed in this mission, they dont show up as missions on the "M" map. And my SS rank is 8, and i have the heros. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.231.47.204 (talk) at 03:25, 10 April 2010 (UTC).

Jokanur Diggings and Blacktide Den pages list requirements for starting those missions.
Well... level 12 and/or Sunspear rank 4 shouldn't be a problem at all, but if you can't access those missions, make sure you've completed your primary quests.
Double check to see if you've completed your Campaign Travel quest (probably Sunspears in Cantha, unless you've chosen to get to Tyria first and get Sunspears in Kryta instead) and accepted its reward.
There's something strange about this scheme, though, since you can only farm LB points on mainland, which isn't accessible prior to Consulate Docks, which requires you to have accepted such Campaign Travel rewards (in order to unlock Dunkoro, Tahlkora and Melonni).
Hmm... other than that, I can't really think about much else other than "Sunspear and Lightbringer title track are character-based (as well as PvE-heroes)", so make sure the character you're trying to play that mission with really matches its requirements (i.e., "unlocking" Melonni/Tahlkora with one of your characters will not automatically unlock them to your other character; you'll need to go through storyline with all your PvE characters).
When everything else fails, try contacting support to see if they can figure out what is wrong. --NIN37 03:21, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Quests or lack of

I am still very new at Guild Wars (less than 6 months playing.) I do have several level 20 characters & one level 19. I keep running into times when I can't find quests to do or missions; although I go to every city marker I have & even outposts trying to find quests. On my my dervish character I easily got a quest around level 17-19 to go to the mainland; but have found no way to get there with my warrior. Both characters I have run out of quests to do except the Beknur Harbor Mission! (I simply can't succeed in that mission after trying it many times on each.) But my point is...I don't know what to do on either character & I know there is a way to get to hard mode & much more play left in my characters. Please if you can help me...I would appreciate it.--97.94.231.143 10:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Beknur Harbor does not have any mission. You must be talking about a secondary quest. In any case, you can find all storyline quests and mission on the list of Nightfall missions and primary quests page. Try to find the last one you did, and see where to go from there. Unfortunately, the in-game quest log does not have a list of completed quests. Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 11:11, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Every time you complete a primary quest or mission, you will be in an outpost that is either your next mission or has someone with your next primary quest. Manifold User Manifold Jupiter.jpg 13:58, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
I take it your warrior is not from Nightfall? Non-Nightfall characters get to the mainland differently than Nightfall-born characters (like your dervish). Make sure your war has spoken to both of the NPC's in the Sun Docks (very small explorable area, go through the Sun Docks portal in Kamadan to get there), then go out of Kamadan into Plains of Jarin and speak to Kormir just a bit forward and to the right of where you spawn on the Plains. Then just continue from there, and you'll eventually get to the mainland on your war. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku talk to me 14:48, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank You for the idea of checking the quest list, I will do that! Both of my characters are from nightfall & I still can't find anybody with a quest at any town or outpost...

Make sure you check with First Spear in Kamadan, and Puuba in the Great Hall. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 03:07, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Bone Palace

Hello, I was wondering if there is a quicker way to get to Bone Palace than having to play through the entire game, such as if I wanted to get a Canthan Character their, Is there a faster way? --193.159.230.119 11:15, 13 April 2010 (UTC) Master Levan

Not really. You still need to Cross the Desolation, which means you have to beat the Gate of Desolation mission, which means you have to have been in Vaabi, which means you have to have been in Kourna, which means you left Kamadan. Which means you play through the entire game. --talk Large 13:53, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
it's actually possible to get a run, but i'm not sure how common the runs are and i wouldn't be surprised if they were expensive. ··· Danny Pew Pew
The previous method of running involved every member of your party who didn't have access to a Junundu dying, and then the runner (who had access to a Junundu), entering his Junundu and then running you to Bone Palace. This actually used to be a method of running to Vabbi, you'd bypass the missions by going through the desolation, and then simply run normally to The Kodash Bazaar. However, (I believe, I don't follow such things, so my knowledge might not be accurate) this run was "fixed" around a year ago in an update. Making it no longer possible to utilize a Junundu unless all party members had access to one. In other words - no, it isn't possible; play through the game normally. Even if you aren't using Discord or Sabway, it should only take a day's worth of gameplay at most (and, with discord or sabway, much faster.) User Ryuu R.jpg Ryuu - Meow~ 16:06, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Actually, there's a method using two people with Unyielding Aura. I can't seem to find the video at the moment, but I know it exists. ··· Danny Pew Pew
That sounds long and more painful than actually playing the game. >.> User Ryuu R.jpg Ryuu - Meow~ 16:29, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
More painful for who? The runner, or the person being run? The beauty of runs is that a few people have to endure pain, and everyone else can reap the rewards! User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 17:27, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
But usually runners like to be compensated for their pain, and the greater the pain, the greater the price. Speaking from experience that is one of the most painful runs out there. Also how hard did you look for the video? [[2]] Tidas 20:10, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Vampirism

hello, I tried to obtain the ritualist skill Vampirism from the hero skill trainer in both Kamadan and the Sunspear Great hall as suggested on this wiki and it wasn't there in either, There is no required sunspear rank required that I know of and that wouldn't matter since I used my character who has like lvl 6 sunspear rank? --193.159.230.119 12:58, 15 April 2010 (UTC) Master Levan

Question

So once you obtain Vampirism how do you make it avaliable to one of your factions characters if you used one of your elonian characters to unlock? I thought it was then supposed to be avaliable to all your characters. --193.159.230.119 13:27, 15 April 2010 (UTC) Master Levan

Jokanur Diggings/Hard Mode

I am trying to get my Ranger through Jokanur Diggings in Hard Mode with Heroes and I can't seem to get very far. Can your tel me which is the best way to aproach it? I know you need Melonni in the party and I've tried other Hero combinations but I still can't seem to get it right. Any tips you could give me would be very helpful.74.229.228.95 23:17, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

I'd focus your own build on taking down single targets, not barrage, in other words. Melonni will do double damage to the undead with Heart of Holy Flame, you'll probably want her to tank so Armor of Sanctity and Mystic Regen will help with that. Your healer should have Prot Spirit or Shelter, and condition removal. The fourth slot should be somewhat defensive, and somewhat offensive, maybe a Smiter with interrupts, an MM, a Spirit Spammer, or a Paragon with "Stand Your Ground!".
