Ranger HM[edit]

Why do we have three different variants on "bring six Nature Rituals" but my "pet + degen" startegy is edited out with "we already have 'bring a pet' "? Lacerate + Toxicity + pet attacks is a great build, easy to use and gets me the HM bonus every single time. -Meagen 11:29, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

B/c the entire thing needs to be cleaned up. However, the usage of degen from a pet, while having him provide addition degen to himself, is a bit new. I'm thinking having sub-notes for each major tactic. --JonTheMon 15:25, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
The whole article looks depressingly cluttered anyway, perhaps what is needed is for the tactics to be split off into a separate article, e.g. Guide to Beating Augury Rock, or Guide to Beating the Doppelganger (in much the same vein as Guide to the Norn Fighting Tournament) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 00:35, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Warrior - Hard Mode[edit]

After having a quick look at all these strategies it seems rather well put together but there is one thing I noticed, there are no hints for Hard Mode for warriors, I feel like making a, "cause the can't" joke. But does anyone know some strategies for them that could be added?--Fusional 00:32, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, i vote for the "they can't". I had to switch to secondary mesmer and used a couple of 75% blocking stances at max tactics with mesmer empathy for mission+bonus in hard mode (staying out of melee distance). Not sure how it can be done with warrior-only skills, at least only using prophecies skills (i didn't had many elite skills by the time anyways).--Fighterdoken 20:40, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I tried fighting with warrior on hard mode and accomplished it consistently in bonus time with gash, FGJ, riposte, deadly riposte and shield bash. He has no shield or a sword, so it works highly in your favor. In fact, I'm not sure if I even needed shield bash because attacking with FGJ fuels riposte enough that the doppel can barely get an attack through. - Easy Operayshun

W/me HM weild bow or staff so that he does also. i used empathy, tiger stance and flail. and signet of stamina is optional. I just stood there and he killed himself. I had to recast empathy once.12 domination, rest in strength. Micro 02:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Easy fast kill for either: Mes/Necro or Necro/Mes[edit]

Bring only these 2 skills: Insidious Parasite & Backfire. Use Backfire & Insidious Parasite untill the Doppelganger dies. ;) ~C Cooldudecool

Mesmer - Hard Mode[edit]

Mesmers can get a guaranteed bonus in hard mode by just adding asuran skills such as pain inverter, mental block and radiation field to the empathy plus distortion tactic with the variation of using breath of the great dwarf if you must have healing. This should not be necessary as the doppelganger falls within a few seconds. ~ Feersum

Here's a build that worked for me. The AI can't use it properly against you, got it easily in HM as a Me/N. OQREAZkDSIdDMBYTOIA2wCQCkTB Folxnumeroso 08:23, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Ritualist Hard mode[edit]

I tried just Vengeful spells and was killed, Doppleganger had almost no health left though. So I took some mesmer skills: Physical Resistance, Arcane Echo, Vengeful Was Khanhei, and Vengeful Weapon. 16 Restoration, 12 Inspiration. Worked very well for me. ~An anonymous ritualist lover --The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

Title Track Skills[edit]

Does any one think that they can note that the Doppelganger cant use any Title track skills? I just defeated him in 5 seconds flat in Hard mode using only Ursan blessing, Ebon Vanguard Assasin suport, and "I am the strongest"

He can't. I used Ursan, Assassin Support, Summon Mursaat, with blank slots and owned him. I took no damage. HM. Calor - talk 18:24, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Actually I beat him just now in Hard Mode using Ursan Blessing ("Post Nerf Edition") in about 10 seconds, no other skill on my bar. (rank 5 Norn) – josəph 00:00, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't quite understand the difficult descriptions for the Elementalist. I brought my favourite fire skillbar without any preparation. The mission took perhaps 20 seconds at the first try.

Skills: (from left to right, seems to be important since the AI is dependent on the order)

glowing gaze, fire storm, searing flames, liquid flame, fireball, meteor shower, glyph of lesser energy, fire attunement

I had 95 Energy, 550 health, 15 fire magic, 13 energy storage

Start with fire attunement (probably not neccessary), then searing flames - liquid flame - searing flame - glowing gaze - searing flames - fire ball - searing flames, and he should have gone down. It may be that I did one or two additional searing flames. I was down to 1/4 health when he was finished. Special:Contributions/ 00:18, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[quote]... bring Backfire and Wastrel's Worry. Cast Backfire on the Doppelganger at the start of the battle. [/quote] This is just plain wrong - Mesmers don't do it!

I don't know where the contributor got this supid idea from. I tried and lasted oh fifteen seconds. It will not work - you have been warned.

All you have to do is put on Armor of Earth and Insideous Parasite (maxing out Earth magic and curses), put them on, and don't attack. Doppelganger kills itself pretty fast even on HM which is perfect for ele's with necro as their second class or even necros with ele as second class. Easy strategy with little thinking :) -- at 04:27, August 8 2009 (UTC)

Is it really helpful to list Spiteful Spirit as a possible strategy? You can only cap it in the Southern Shiverpeaks onwards, which means you must have done this mission already. Okay, you could have gotten run to Droknar's Forge or used a tome, but that won't help someone who's playing Prophecies for the first time. -- 08:34, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

what is the sequence you are supposed to use to step on the rocks

Follow the recommended Necromancer skills, remove all weapons and armor prior to stepping on third stone. When you regain control of your character, don your armor and weapons, the doppleganger will be busy spamming all its skills on the skill bar. Take aim with your staff and within five seconds you will have defeated your foe. ~User Necrotising Faciata (a real girl who loves the game)

A lot of people use necro/monk for creating minions and healing them. A good strategy for them is to use the skills Insidious Parasite, Shielding Hands, and Protective Spirit and leave other spaces blank. Use the first skill at the start of the fight, and then, when he/she attacks use the last two. When Protective Hands's and Insidious Parasite's effects has gone, use them again.

Easy way to kill him:[edit]

Brawling Headbutt.jpg

Ursan Blessing

bring a warrior wep to gain adrenaline, use brawling and ear bite then use ursan, I killed him in about 10 secs.

Umm, doesn't the Ursan elite replace all your other skills? Kind of pointless to list anything more than Ursan if you are going to be killing him in a few seconds. --Rpger 18:52, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Almost any damage-dealing PvE-only skill will own him since he apparently does not acquire title track skills (ie. PvE only), although I have heard some mention he may have Vampirism and Winds. I personally used Summon Mursaat, Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support, and You Move Like a Dwarf. You don't even need a heal unless your hp is under 200 or so. If you are worried about healing, (although you shouldn't be), then drain his energy by adding four energy-draining (-1 e) enchants which you won't use, but the doppleganger will, - like holy veil, life attunement, divine boon, and/or blessed aura. Then add an expensive heal, like heal party. It will help you, but the doppleganger will tank his energy after just one use (assuming he even got around to putting all four enchants on). Chances are, between your interrupts and damage, he won't even be able to get more than 2 or 3 of those enchants on before dying.

Just removed this comment from the article:

  • If you and the doppelganger both die at the same time, you will still get credit for completing the mission. This will count as a death however, so avoid using this strategy if you are trying for the Survivor title.

We both died at the same time (using Retribution & Pain Inverter) but I failed the mission. Must have been changed in an update. Fun 17:36, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

"The simple easy way"[edit]

This isn't really a strategy for killing the doppelganger. You can do this on any enemy or boss, and besides that, there are many faster, easier, and more efficient ways of killing him than that. I suggest we remove that section. (Also, cupcakes aren't new, nor is it any strategy or surprise that they help kill him faster; all consumables have that effect.) Kokuou 12:46, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I agree.--Go to Wynthyst's Talk page Wynthyst 12:48, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I've seen all Monk strats versus the Doppelganger for Hard Mode are a bit long, taking about 20sec or longer. example: "Also, Blessed Aura helps keep Shield of Judgment up longer, just make sure you let your energy fill before going in." this sounds very unpleasent. So why not take the one build made for normal mode (the one with the 4 auras, 2 smites and backfire) and add Empathy? Killed the Doppelganger within 17 seconds with that. Backfire -> Empathy -> the two smites -> one smite reloads and its dead. Asuka 00:54, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

And with the self-bonding method, I just pre-protted, cast SoJ and stood there, as the AI killed itself, just like every other monster in the game. I expended no effort, so I'd reflect again on how "long" these strategies relatively demand. Sec Qr Euin 05:39, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Split Page Discussion[edit]

Why is there a split page Discussion on this page when the page we are splitting to doesn't exist. Additionally, spliting doesn't make any sense because the whole mission is killing the doppelganger. --Gigaclon 03:22, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

The page not existing is the point; splitting would create a new page with the information regarding killing the doppelganger. I'm assuming the suggestion is an attempt to group information more, so that people who aren't looking for strategies to beat the doppelganger aren't subjected to an overly long page. Signet of Midnight[edit]

It says near the end of the article that you can use Signet of Midnight and Empathy to kill the Doppelganger quickly. While this probably works, you cannot acquire that elite until you have access to Perdition Rock, which can only be reached after Thunderhead Keep. Shouldn't Signet of Midnight be changed to another blindness causing skill, since that obviously doesn't work? -- Writergeek7

tomes--Grentch.jpgGlory 00:59, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Sure, you could buy an elite tome and get it. You could also just substitute another blindness skill like Writer said. The only non-elite one in Proph that comes to mind is Blinding Flash but I'm sure there are others, SoM is just a general blindness skill and is in the same profession as Empathy. If you want to change it to include several blinding skills I don't think anyone will revert it. Bathory 08:15, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Time Limit for Bonus - Hard Mode[edit]

The time limit for the bonus on Hard Mode is actually reduced to 2 minutes. I have added this in brackets on the page Lynx Raven Raide 18:07, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Hard Mode[edit]

In NM, you need to do all of the ascension missions before you can reach this mission. In HM, you can do any of the four missions in any order you want. You should only have access to this mission if you have done all of the ascension missions in HM. Flaming Hot Chilli 08:25, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Ray of Judgment[edit]

I just attempted to use Ray of Judgment in hard mode, and the Doppelganger did run out of it like it was an AoE both times I used it. HM build suggestions are le fail[edit]

All you need is a mes secondary, 12 dom, 12 illusion, empathy, and distortion. It works on all professions. All the other build suggestions are clutter, imo. Of course, this doesn't apply for normal mode since you can't change secondary professions yet, and empathy is less powerful in NM. I believe you automatically get empathy when you switch to mes secondary, and distortion can be exchanged for just about any other block skill. --8765 06:23, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Technically, you could do HM without being able to change professions, provided you beat Prophecies with at least one other character. In fact, I believe I did just that (for fun) on one character. In any case, there are a variety of ways to do this, so suggesting multiple ways isn't really a bad idea. It's also really amusing killing him in 2-5 seconds in HM (5 is my personal best, but I could probably do better as that was pre-EotN). --Falseprophet 16:42, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
You can change secondary professions without unlocking Hard Mode... And, you can have HM unlocked without having the ability to change secondary professions. --Freedom Bound 16:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Just to finish this thread, yes, and since a Prophecies character can't unlock secondary professions until after Augury Rock is complete, having tactics for at least the core 6 professions is relevant. --Falseprophet 17:43, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
A Prophecies character can do Nahpui Quarter and change secondaries for 500g each in either Senji's Corner or Great Temple of Balthazar. Paddymew 22:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

XP multipliers?[edit]

Is the 50k XP increased by any scrolls or special in-game events? Like, if there's a Double XP weekend going on (do these happen?) or a Scroll of the Lightbringer (3x experience) is used, I imagine that 50k experience could go up quite a bit. - Brian Kendig 16:49, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

No. Scrolls don't affect quest rewards, only experience gained through combat. --Freedom Bound 16:52, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Elementalist HM[edit]

Just flattened him with Blinding Flash, Fragility, Echo, Cry of Pain, Arcane Echo, GoLE, Aura of Restoration, and Air Attunement. Its a modification of the last HM method for ele with cryer just added in, and if definitely gets the bonus unlike the description. Illusion 3, Air 13, ES 15 (could have done with a smaller rune in ES). Stay out of melee, and he still doesn't cast Blinding Flash on you, making fragility moot for him. Something better could likely be used as a hex, but it was the most useless hex I had on me with a usable duration/recharge. Lillium 17:00, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

You used a PvE skill. If you're going to use a PvE skill, you might as well just use Ursan, and nothing else. That automatically kills him. —Jette User Jette awesome.png 17:14, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Some people might have the Nightfall campaign (Cry of Pain) on their account, but not Eye of the North (Ursan Blessing). --Silver Edge 22:02, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Heh, Necrosis might have done it just as well or better, but either way Sunspear skills take infinitely less time investment to get. I personally hate EotN, so I don't bother with it far for my alts, making Ursan something my ele most definitely would not have. The description of the Blinding Flash method says you will not get the bonus in HM with it, but the other ele methods all require elites, secondary classes, or something more complicated, making them relatively unideal for trying to get a mission done as fast and simply as possible without hunting down new skills (unless the character is your main). If you really don't want to use a pve skill, use empathy. Point is, this is incredibly simple and works with minor improvement, and here's some improvement. Lillium 21:01, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Ascension Bonus?[edit]

In the Rewards section, it clearly states "50,000 XP Ascension bonus for a character completing this mission for the first time ..." Well, I did not find this to be the case. I just completed this (including bonus) with a Paragon who has not completed Hunted! (and while KC is mapped, I haven't stepped outside). In fact, I have The Time is Nigh in my quest log (altho I caught a Docks Ferry earlier). The character did "ascend" because the Profession Changer in GToB will now allow second profession changes (and would not before the mission). But (and I saved a screenie) I did not receive a 50,000XP ascension bonus; I got only the standard 2,000XP for M+B. Did I do something wrong or is the page wrong regarding non-Prophecies characters/professions? (Perhaps needless to say, I specifically ascended here for the XP bonus and am very disappointed I wasted my time ... I could have been unlocking more heroes or PvE skills.) --ZeeWabbit 02:45, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Did you compare your experience before and after? Maybe it just didn't give you a message that you gained 50k xp? Or maybe you did it in HM and it only gives it in NM or something? My survivor got the 50k xp by ascending here first (Ritualist, Canthan obviously) as did my friend's Elonian Necromancer, in NM, so it definitely does give it for other campaigns. Lillium 02:39, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Notably, the "other wiki" has a notation that "not all characters get the bonus." As best I can tell, I did everything "right" ... but some bit of magic must have been missing. Perhaps a similar warning here is in order. --ZeeWabbit
And you are sure you didn't complete the Nahpui Quarter mission, right? Paddymew 06:31, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Here's what I did. After I arrived in Kammy, I got a lift to the docks and bought max armor. Got a lift to KC and LA from the Docks. Never stepped outside KC, didn't even take the "Welcome to Cantha" quest. I ran a bunch of NF island quests. Did the quest for Olias (out of LA). Continued questing in NF until I reached The Time Is Nigh which I did all but going to the Docks. By this time, because I quested so intensely, I was level 20. Then I ran myself from LA to ToA to Sanctum Cay, ran M+B for Sanctum Cay, ran to all desert outposts and did the three desert mish. I got M+B for the Dopple but did not get 50K XP. My charrie had never left the NF island and had never done a single Canthan quest. I have 0 clue why I did not get the "ascension bonus" but it seems to me that since I didn't, it may be worth a note on the main page that it's not a given. --ZeeWabbit 18:22, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
That is kinda strange. Maybe it's only for proph chars. I'll test it myself once my mesmer has done the three pre-Ascension quests. Paddymew 18:52, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Strange indeed, it is *definitely not* for Prophecies characters only. My Monk is Canthan and I am 100% sure he did get the 50,000 XP ascending in Prophecies. Absolutely certain he did, and I see no reason why the OP's Paragon didn't. Maybe it is related to being a non-core Profession? That's all I can think of. --Sensei 19:26, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
My survivor Paragon didn't get the bonus either. Hasn't ever stepped in Kournan soil and can't even map to KC. Roivas 18:10, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Elementalist/Ranger NM in about a minute[edit]

Since Doppleganger can't take pets, I took my Level 19 Lynx with these Skill (Attribute): Flare (13); Blinding Flash (0); Gale(0); Earthquake (0); Obsidian Flame (0); Feral Lunge (0); Comfort Animal (0). My strategy was to take in all of the weak skills that cause Exhaustion and I won't use, plus ones for me to focus on. Skill & maneuver sequence was: use Blinding Flash, order Pet to attack target and use Flare, then alternate while moving around Doppleganger and watching Pet's health. Worked like a charm.

I'm pretty sure that the Doppelganger has all their attributes maxed. Paddymew 10:54, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Alright. It's because a mission is either cooperative or competitive. And since you aren't fighting any other players... Paddymew 13:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Time for a cleanup?[edit]

There's a bunch of Tactics/Strategies here and on Doppelganger, many of them redundant. I'd suggest to clean up the tactics as follows:

  • Tactics are removed from Doppelganger page, a reference to this mission entry is added
  • Normal mode Strategies may only use non-Elite Prophecies skills obtainable up to Augury Rock and must not rely on a secondary profession (as players may not be ascended). Bonus points if the required skills are given by skill quests.
  • Hard mode Strategies may use anything available (including elites, skills from other campaigns and PvE-Skills). But they must be good for the Bonus Objective, no stupid chasing the Doppelganger around until it dies of old age.
  • Keep it simple. Remove skills that aren't needed. Remove slight variations of the same concept. Remove all those random Builds that someone listed just because he accidently scored a kill with it.
  • As a rule of thumb, one normal mode tactic per Attribute should be enough, for casters that don't require a fitting weapon we usually need less. For hard mode, just list the most reliable one or two tactics.

Thoughts? Disagreements? I don't want to test builds and start an edit-frenzy only to find it reverted. Tub 15:18, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Go for it tbh, most of these are useless anyway. Your guidelines for keeping specific entries look pretty solid. -Auron 15:32, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Parts were reverted, so I'll add my reasoning for certain strategies:

  • I'm fine with the re-added mesmer strategies, although the normal mode strategy has been tested in hard mode and works even w/o Signet of Midnight.
  • I'd like to revert the revert of the Necro strats. ;) SS can work against you as well (punishes skills), so it's safer to not bring it along - also see my reasoning for Elite Skills in NM tactics above. The "sacrifice strat" will actually use Insidious Parasite, so it's just an overly complex way of killing with IP. I haven't seen any AI actually sacrifice itself to death. But I can re-test if wanted.

Tub 17:52, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

While SS can work against you, it also adds to the damage when the Doppelganger attacks you, and if you're using Necrosis, you're on the better end of that deal. And for the sacrifice strat, I don't know if Insidious is a core part of the strat or just a backup/quicker end. --JonTheMon 18:22, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
"Normal mode Strategies may only use non-Elite Prophecies skills obtainable up to Augury Rock and must not rely on a secondary profession (as players may not be ascended). Bonus points if the required skills are given by skill quests.": IMO, that's not needed for any non core profession, for somewhat obvious reasons. Plus, a player who is back in Augury Rock trying to get the mission bonus in Normal Mode, after having achieve simple mission completition, would not be bound by those rules. Erasculio 22:16, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

As you are cleaning, the comment "This method easily works for a secondary Ritualist as well" in the Ritualist Hard Mode tactic is rather misguiding and might need to be removed. I tried it multiple times on Elementarist and Assasin; Failed rather hopelesly on Elementarist; Sin worked out as a close call after a few tries, but only after adding "Shadow Refuge" for selfheal and using Candy Corn and Moral Bonus, in the 3rd try. --Refar 09:34, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

I haven't tested the A/D/Rt/P strategies (yet?) as I neither have the respective characters nor have I bothered to capture most of their elites. If you couldn't get it to work on a lvl20 with max armor and everything then I don't mind if you remove the addition. Consumables shouldn't be needed in any case for a strategy to be worth mentioning here. Tub 12:27, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Re-do. I think its time for a second clean-up. I just came to check for warrior and the main page is highly redundant. Same for the talk page. I have never seen so far a talk page being edited itself but... how about we sort the discusions by professions? User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 09:43, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Any/N or N/Any[edit]

So easy with - Awaken The Blood, Order Of The Vampire and Finish Him. Let him spam Order Of The Vampire, while you strafe side to side, and finish him with 'Finish Him' xD Also works in HM 23:26, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

First Cinematic Emote[edit]

Just completed this, does anyone know/recognize the emote both your character and the doppelganger do during the first cinematic, just before it ends and ye fight? Thought it was the rock emote but obviously not, looks like they're punding their fists into their hands. talk delta36 02:35, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

The really easy way[edit]

The easy way is to change your secondary profession to any/A or if your an assasin to A/W or A/R and use only skills for your second profession's weapon. The dopple can only use the weapon of your primary proffesion thus he can't use any skills and his attacks will do no damage.

False, just tested, and it is stated on his page that he can perform any attacks with his weapons. Can supply a screenshot. And please sign your comments. Lillium 08:57, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Another easy way, any class[edit]

I took (and used in this order) Pain Inverter, Radiation Field, and Ursan Blessing. It took me about 10s to kill him like this as a Derv in HM. Have fun laying the smack down! Daine 02:22, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

I recommend pressing Ctrl+F and typing in "Ursan." See what results you get. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 02:28, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Pet Paragon[edit]

First and foremost, this build was presented to me by Imp Paragon (or somewhere near that, I'm a mess with names) on youtube. It's a build that works around Strike as One, and since the Doppleganger can't have a pet, the only skills he'll use are the spear attack, and "GftE!".

Snow Storm.jpg

"Finish Him!".jpg
"Finish Him!"

You do not need Finish Him if you don't have it(but it helps if you have it), I find this to be the easiest skill bar to defeat doppleganger in any profession since its easy to get the first 2 PVE skill.

Precast Arcane Echo before cinematic, once inside the zone, just use Assasin Support and the echo'd version on the doppleganger and bam, you're done. Just make sure to use snowstorm once your doppleganger is attacking the sin support otherwise he will scatter and use Finish Him once his health is below 50%.

You can use the blanks to put whatever skill you want(preferably skills with longer casting time) or leave it blank, just make sure to not get heals. If your energy is low, use staff with energy mods-Wracken 22:38, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

I also had a similar idea, but not as fast as yours. Start off with YMLAD and EVAS, then run around the top and keep hitting him when skills recharge.

Elementalist, Step by Step. (HM/NM)[edit]

Before stepping on the third rock Cast Aura of Restoration, Fire Attunement, Glyph of Sacrifice. Step on 3rd rock. Skip Cinematic. Cast Firestorm w/GoS on (yes!) Then Immolate, then spam flare, Immolate, and Mind Blast til the Glyph is ready again. Hit it, then Meteor Shower. Immolate, Flare, Mindblast til dead. It will take less than 30 seconds, you literally can not fail.

Skillbar: Mind Blast (elite), Flare, Immolate, GoS, Firestorm, Meteor Shower, Aura of Restoration, Fire Attunement.

He WILL knock you down to about half health in HM before the Meteor Shower, it doesn't matter. MS heals you for 110 damage alone.

Casting MS first and firestorm later might also work, but the chance to fail is better. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Remmybax (talk) at 00:12, 12 May 2011‎ (UTC).

Where's my 50k exp!?[edit]

I just cleared this mission on my Paragon (survivor char), this is a char that hasn't even stepped out of Istani soil in NF and can't even map to Cantha, yet I got only the 2000 exp after killing the doppelganger. What the hell!? Roivas 18:01, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm sure its mentioned up the page at some point, but check your xp totals before and after the mission completion. There's no message in the chat box that tells you when you get the xp. Lillium 20:00, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Most likely it's because he ascended in Nightfall (Weh No Su) before doing Augury Rock. Ascending in either of the other two campaigns means you don't ascend at Augury Rock, which is where the 50k bonus comes from. Unfortunately, you don't get a similar XP bonus when ascending in NF or Factions. Kruhljak 08:35, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

The Doppelganger and health sacrifice[edit]

I just want to clear up something. While under the effects of Scourge Sacrifice the Doppelganger will use skills that will cause it to kill itself, even in Hard Mode. Without Scourge Sacrifice, the Doppelganger will not kill itself. --Curse YouCurse You(talk|contribs) 18:35, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Oh cool :) Out of interest does it use Blood Renewal when it is below 50% hp to try and heal itself? Or while it is still above 50% (detrimental in this case) 19px Chieftain Alex 18:47, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
From my somewhat limited testing, it seems that the Doppelganger will use Blood Renewal to heal. However, since its health gets rather low rather quickly, it usually doesn't get a chance to use Blood Renewal since the Doppelganger recognizes the associated health sacrifice as negative. When under the effects of Scourge Sacrifice, it doesn't seem like the Doppelganger gets a chance to use Blood Renewal since the first cast of Order of Pain or Dark Fury will drop it to below "safe" levels for using Blood Renewal. --Curse YouCurse You(talk|contribs) 08:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
