Sup guys.[edit]
So I'm pretty much done with my Warrior Feedback pages. What I'd like you to do, though, is come up with bars that you'd play. It'll be hard, I think; there are so many good choices!
Here, I'll start:
Sample Axe (GvG/HA)[edit]
Swift Chop red bars into gray bars.
12/12 Axe/Strength. Land Bull's, then BoA, Cleave, spam the shit out of Swift Chop, then prot strike and "IMTDT!" on standup. Bull's again where appropriate; it's recharged now. — Raine Valen 18:22, 21 Oct 2010 (UTC)
Sample Sword (GvG)[edit]
Kill it with interrupts. On recharge.
12/10/8 Sword/Tactics/Strength. Interrupt lots of stuff with Savage and Barbarous. Final Thrust for kills. Hamstring anything that thinks about kiting. — Raine Valen 18:22, 21 Oct 2010 (UTC)
Sample Hammer (GvG/HA)[edit]
Laugh at block chains.
12/12 Hammer/Strength. Iblow on recharge. "OYK!" and BoA with every KD. Qknock with MHS. Echarge where appropriate (ideally, after "OYK!" expires). — Raine Valen 18:22, 21 Oct 2010 (UTC)
Gank sword (GvG)[edit]
12+1+2 sword, 11+2 strength, 6 shadow, sentinel's insignia, gigantic shield
I figured Tactics would be the gank attribute, so I said "fuck that shit" and decided to see if I could make Shadow Arts work instead. I'm not sure I'd take it over some other bar, but it's a strong addition to a split team. Death's Retreat could potentially be Death's Charge or Shadow Refuge; that choice would depend mostly on who you're splitting with, methinks. Also, why does lieutenant's have such a ridiculous drawback? -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 19:10, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- Lacks IMS, n00b. — Raine Valen 2:25, 2 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- Tk noodle did this years ago, shield stance and healing signet. Sprint and frenzy for stances. Also get rid of that awful assassin stuff. -Auron 02:38, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- TK still runs Sprint because his monks are magic and he can land Bull's from casting range. — Raine Valen 3:28, 2 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- Tk noodle did this years ago, shield stance and healing signet. Sprint and frenzy for stances. Also get rid of that awful assassin stuff. -Auron 02:38, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
And, while I'm at it...[edit]
Ranger Feedback pages are pretty well-off, too. Expertise and Beast Mastery need work, but no one uses those skills, anyway. For now, just marks and expertise:
Sample Bow (RA)[edit]
Arena champ.
12/9/9 Expertise/Wilderness/Marks. Rapid Fire and Needling Shot everything everywhere for epic condi spread. Dshot key skills; debil key players. Degen the entire team out by yourself. — Raine Valen 18:57, 21 Oct 2010 (UTC)
Oppressor's Weapon[edit]
I need one for my HoM because I'm a completionist. Which'll it be: Scythe, Daggers, Staff, or Shield? — Raine Valen 19:32, 29 Oct 2010 (UTC)
- I heard you were having a vote. Daggers are the sexiest - go for those. -Someone without a wiki account --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 97.85.81.141 (talk).

I like this phrasing much better than the original. GJ. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:47, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- Why, thank you! — Raine Valen 21:02, 2 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- I particularly love how they use the term "only 67." GW titles are fun amirite? –Jette 21:49, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- "Only" in this usage does not imply a small amount. — Raine Valen 22:00, 2 Nov 2010 (UTC)

Fucken UNDERWORLD, guys![edit]
We're doing it. Put your name, your character names, and what they can play if you want to come. If you need a run FROM LA TO TOA, we can arrange that. We'll figure out a date later.

- Could play a bunch of stuff. Whether I'd enjoy it...
- Ideally I'd come on this guy, but I can only imbagon (specifically, this one). It's been so long since I've done anything else that I honestly don't know what skills I have.

Details[edit]
A couple of things:
- We will be meeting at LION'S ARCH, Korean District 1, at the prescribed time, and running/grinding from there to ToA.
- If you can, rune your armor with +armor insignias and pick up a defensive set.
- If you don't have a 40/40 sets for your builds, I can probably loan them to you.
- I'll be paying the entrance fee.
- Don't worry about cons and whatever; we should be fine without that nonsense. If you want to burn your money on it, no one's going to stop you, but do not feel like the party owes you anything.
- If you have any questions about your bar, ask me. Seriously. I'd rather go over it before hand than figure out in UW that our heal doesn't know how2guardian. Or that our para can't throw DWs with Vicious. Or something. Seriously. Ask if you don't feel like you can do something perfectly.
- If you think you can't make the date (when it's announced), please tell me beforehand. Do not make me wait for you.
If you've got any other questions, ask them here whenever. Thanks! — Raine Valen 23:46, 3 Nov 2010 (UTC)

Fucking exploded at 4 horsemen. Was still good fun, though! — Raine Valen 18:17, 7 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- I thought you learned something from this, Raine. I guess my confidence in you is way too high and you are not smart enough to understand. There was a point we wanted to make, and we failed. Builds make for skilled plays do not work because UW (and PvE in general) favors gimmicks and penalizes balanced builds, and people who still play this terrible game are not skilled enough to play those builds. If they are using cons well before we even get to a hard part, the run failed. If they do not learn from their mistakes even after dying to the same shit 3 times, the run failed. This is why I am superior to you all. I think outside of your predetermined borders. I base my results on logic and experimentation instead of theory and conversion. I am the blue-haired rebel. I AM ME. Koda Kumi 20:50, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- Fuck proving a point, I just want a monument and some ectos. -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 08:19, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- @Koda: You did prot very bad, most people died because of conditions in combination of raw damage, and I guess that prot monks need to prevent those factors. So, its clear why we failed blue haired honey...
And I just want again, I like the Rt build =) -- Cyan 11:35, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- @Koda: You did prot very bad, most people died because of conditions in combination of raw damage, and I guess that prot monks need to prevent those factors. So, its clear why we failed blue haired honey...
- I'm really not sure where you got the "proving a point" thing. But, before I address that:
- People using personal cons: First of all, c[_]. Secondly, no one used cons until I DCd in a swarm of mindblades. Removing DP because your heal got shafted by her wireless isn't using cons to make up for lack of skill, it's using cons to make up for unrelated circumstances. I'm not getting my knickers in a twist over that, neither should you.
- JP exploding in traps several times: Yeah, that was totally his fault. I shouldn't have to infuse traps, nor should you have to SoA them. I gave a speech before we started to that effect. I guess someone was absent. :3
- Now that the small things are out of the way:
- Yeah, UW punishes balanced builds. Those starburst dryder things are pretty ridiculous when there's more than... hell, 0 of them, on top of everything else. I will admit, I was very curious as to whether or not it would be possible for a 2.5-man backline to carry players through Four Horsemen without a dedicated tank. It may, in fact, be possible: I'm a bad heal monk (I press Prot Spirit way more than I should; I can admit this!) and your prots left something to be desired in many cases (i.e. where was SoA on the fucking reaper?). I'm not sure whether resilients were going around as they should have been (Cyan!), I don't know what was getting Cried (Ant!), I honestly wasn't paying attention to where our damage was going (was SR or JP calling? idk!), or whether damage was getting eaten up by ES like it should have been (Halo!). So yeah, maybe it could've worked out if we played better.
- But did I go into UW with the purpose of sating this curiosity, though? Hell no. I just wanted some ecto and a bit of entertainment. — Raine Valen 20:33, 10 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- Shit, we were calling? ShadowRunner 20:38, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- I rest my case. :3 — Raine Valen 0:32, 12 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- My defense is that resilient is a pretty weak heal ^^ There were that many conditions going around that I wished I had a condition remover. Next time, Mend Body and Soul =D -- Cyan 20:52, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Resil is primarily for the armor bonus (+24 armor means 1/3 less damage from eles) (which is a lot when eles hit for 900). — Raine Valen 0:32, 12 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- Shit, we were calling? ShadowRunner 20:38, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm really not sure where you got the "proving a point" thing. But, before I address that:
- The way that I see it, this run failed because the individual builds, and therefore the team build as a whole, suffered a loss because it was ill-adapted to the instance and more suited builds were counted out because of their tendency to appear within gimmick builds and were not adapted to reflect a more "skillful approach". In short, Balanced PvP ≠ Balanced PvE (roflmisnomer). -- Oiseau | 21:32, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- Which is about half of what I am saying. 82.217.189.101 22:32, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

S-S-S-S-SECTION BREAKER[edit]
those are amazingly awful bars. I see no splinter, no gdw, no soh, no orders, no smite hex, no ebon wards, and no technobabble. i also see warriors with frenzy, a paragon with... actually idk what that para bar is supposed to be, but to the limit is baed. please tell me you didn't actually hit enter mission with that setup, raine? :/ (protip - drunken master without alcohol plus celery maxes out ias/ims with no drawback, and lasts like a minute - there is no reason to be taking frenzy).
i am disappoint. -Auron 11:59, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- I just love frenzyyyy. BTW it makes sense to bring an orders into a 4 physical build so I agree with you on that one. But we could just take an old barrage/pet build, but it would defeat the point. Otherwise: Protip and celerity (or any consumable) don't go well together. just don't. --Boro 12:32, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- you're in pve. why would you not abuse broken shit? it's not like the content is hard to begin with - a fully maintainable IMS/IAS shouldn't be "required" to clear it, it just makes the task a hell of a lot quicker. taking frenzy instead of drunken master is just asking to get assraped by an aatxe or dom mesmer. -Auron 12:39, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- If I Really wanted to take a full and maintainable IAS, I would have gone to a hammer war and brought the Dwarf battle stance. I could just switch to flail I know, and I just might do it, but at the moment, I am confident that I can cancel frenzy when it is needed. --Boro 12:45, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Cons aren't necessary, in my opinion. Just a good cohesive strategy and the builds to pull it off. -- Oiseau | 22:10, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

So where should I post the build I am planning to run? at the end of the list, or in an appropriate space (frontline/midline/backline)? --Boro 19:51, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- You post the builds you can/will run next to your characters' name and profession. The specific skill bar is subject to change depending on what the party lacks. — Raine Valen 2:06, 8 Nov 2010 (UTC)

- Why wouldn't you, exactly? You're probably not going to get this going for at least a week; that's plenty of time to get all the PvE skills, if you happen to want them. You're basically saying "I don't know if my guildies have WoH and SoA and everything unlocked, but I'm pretty sure he's got orison and blight, so we'll go with that for now". -- Armond Warblade{{Bacon}} 13:03, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
- If someone wants to replace a skill on their bar for a better PvE or PvX skill, they're welcome to. I'm not requiring it, though. The difference between "We'll just use blight instead of WoH" and "We'll just use Hammer Bash instead of Brawling Headbutt" is that (1) WoH v Blight makes a big difference and (2) you can tome the PvX skill, but you can't do that for PvE skills. I'd rather spend a plat than do a random quest line any day. — Raine Valen 16:40, 4 Nov 2010 (UTC)

- Some of the bars look like amalgamations of good PvP and PvE builds. Just because HB, Earthshaker, cruel, panic etc are strong doesn't make the rest of the team bars strong. Probably won't be a problem though, since UW isn't really that hard anymore... just takes a long time w/o a speed clear build. Anyway, I'm just being a bitch and criticizing

Hi raine. Here's my resume.[edit]
I was just in RA. 25 wins. w/e. This is the build I used:
I counted how many times I used bulls and how many times I actually landed it: 103/143. Pretty good considering most of them were blocks and shit. Either way, this 25 wins got me rank 5 gladiator. lolololol, I know, I suck.
Pros of me:
- I can fucking land bull's.
- Excellent with swords.
- Pretty decent with hammer.
- Master weapon swapper.
- I can actually 'target' (using the shift + ctrl + spacebar.)
- Holy shit, I can kill with a sword.
- I actually res A.S.A.P.
- I even have sword weapon sets. Vamp, zealous, furious. (Along side with a spear)
- I kill the pet that's training on the monk hitting for 100's
- Holy crap, I can change targets.
- I interrupt res signet with death.
- Huge resolution monitor for wide view.
- Jesus Christ, I can actually carry the flag and steal theirs.
- I destroy mesmers every time they come back to life.
- Reliable internet/graphics
- I have cat ears.
Cons of me:
- I'm not that great with axes. (Especially shock axe, sure I can run it, but use shock efficiency? nah)
- I'm never aware of what's actually going on, on the map.
- Because of this, random VoR can kill me when I'm in frenzy/pr and I'm trying to kill the monk with S/M;FT.
- I still don't know how to effectively quarterstep while autoattacking or etc.
- I can quarterlock though.
- I'm always distracted with things off window.
- I use a freaken sword.
- And I have about 20 freaken swords. Damn.
- Cat ears don't even show up in PvP.
Discuss, with love, →[ »Halogod (talk)« ]← 05:21, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- Congrats! Quarterstepping isn't really that hard, you can practice this on the dummies, you just have to step into the direction they will go to, so you will land more hits and you can also bodyblock them that way. InfestedHydralisk 15:54, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- You don't just mash the shit out of it, you hit it when you need to queue an attack (which is never more than your attack rate, unless you're using faster-than-normal attack skills). Yeah, mashing the shit out of it *works*, but it's not the best way, I find.
- I qstep by panning the camera and either (1) running forward in such a way that my character "slides" around theirs" or (2) sidestepping around them while still moving the camera. I'm bad and never lernt kilk2moov, so my way isn't the conventional way. The conventional way is to click-to-move around the target, while pressing space with the right timing (or mashing it!) to hit your target again asap. Use whatever works for you.
- In general, constant qstepping takes some getting used to, but, once you get it, you'll do it always and be a beastly war in no time. — Raine Valen 0:20, 12 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- 143 bull's in 25 wins averages 5.72 bull's/match. Unless you were averaging 57.2 seconds of combat per match (which is, admittedly, very possible), there is a big fucking problem there. Esp. w/ prage: you should be using (and landing!) bull's pretty much on recharge.
- For swords, you should have zealous, vamp, and ele. Furious doesn't matter a whole lot because swords get a horrible return per point of adrenaline (compare 6-adrenaline Gash to 6-adrenaline dchop or 7-adrenaline Body Blow or Dev Hammer); you'd probably be better off with a vamp camp (since you have no Shock or Frenzy in that build). Also, I sincerely hope you're running +5 armor on your swords. :3
- Also, I think I'm only g4. I haven't been playin' so much RA (or GWs in general :x). — Raine Valen 0:30, 12 Nov 2010 (UTC)
- You know, this all kind of made me want to come back and play GW again. Then I remembered assassins, purple eles, and that spot on my head that finally regrew hair. -- Tha Reckoning 16:09, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Since everybody stalks your page:[edit]
Guys, seriously tell me what you think: [3]. Which one should I get? →[ »Halogod (talk)« ]← 23:11, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- Depends, what are you getting the board for? A highend high performance system or something more midrange? If Highend (like if you are going to do crossfire) I'd get the Asus mobo with the 890FX chipset on it, the 219$ one. for midrage, I'd get the 134$ gigbabyte since it has slightly better specs than the ASUS one at that price range. Unless if you want eSATA, then get the ASUS one... --Lania 23:43, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
