Dialogue[edit]

In pre-Searing Ascalon
"Hello again, friend! I hope our fair city is treating you well."
"Is there anything you'd like know [sic] more about?"

After War Preparations becomes available:[verification requested]

"Anxious to come fight the Charr, are you? It will be a while before we are ready to head out. You should take this opportunity to gain a little more experience. Try using those new skills you've learned. If you're not sure where to go, try talking to Trainer back out in Lakeside County."

After A Second Profession becomes available:

"It's almost time for our offensive against the Charr. I cannot ask you to come on so dangerous a mission until you've trained in a second profession. Even the best Profession cannot handle every situation, but by combining two professions you can be more powerful and more versatile.
"I speak from experience, my friend. I have quite a reputation as a Warrior, but there are many times I've used my Elementalist skills to penetrate defenses that my sword cannot. I also considered the Monk profession for its healing ability, but for me dealing damage was more important. Either way could have been effective, but I chose the combination that suited me. Now you should go do the same."
⇒Where can I get training for other professions?
"There are so many different trainers, I can't say I know where they all are. Tell you what: Go talk to Armin Saberlin. He ought to know."

After gaining a secondary profession:

"We are mustering our forces now. The attack against the Charr will begin tonight. Let me know when you're ready to go, but be sure that all of your affairs are in order before you do. Once we leave, there will be no turning back. You may not see friends or family for quite a while. If you have unfinished business, attend to it before we go."
[If you are not in a party]
YesI am ready to leave everything behind.
"You will be allowed into the citadel shortly. Please wait in town."
[If you are in a party]
YesI am ready to start without my party.
Same as "I am ready to leave everything behind."
YesMy party is ready to leave everything behind.
"Joining the war effort is a decision for each individual to make. Both of you will need to tell me you want to leave. Now then, what about just you?"
YesI am ready to start without my party.
Same as "I am ready to leave everything behind."
NoWait here. I'll be back later.
NoWait here. I'll be back later.

During countdown for Ascalon Academy:

"It'll be just a moment."
Ascalon City (Prophecies characters)
"If it happens in Ascalon City, it's because I say so."
"Don't waste my time. What do you want?"
Ascalon City (non-Prophecies characters)
"I am Warmaster Tydus, appointed by King Adelbern himself to oversee the restoration of Ascalon City. Now, you'll have to excuse me. I have no time to waste conversing with foreigners."
Droknar's Forge (explorable area) (Prophecies characters)[verification requested]
"How could I have guessed that green recruit I met so long ago would come so far. I wouldn't have missed this for the world. I'm proud of you. Ascalon is proud of you."
Droknar's Forge (explorable area) (non-Prophecies characters)
"These are exciting times we live in, aren't they. I'm glad I am still around to see them."

Notes[edit]

Gw2logo.png The Guild Wars 2 Wiki has an article on Veteran Warmaster Tydus.
  • In pre-Searing, Tydus claims a reputation as a Warrior, but in The Norn Fighting Tournament, he is a Ranger.
