The Plains of Jarin are the dusty plains of northeastern Istan. They are mostly flat and dry, but the southeastern part of the Plains of Jarin is more verdant. A variety of sentient plants and insects inhabit this explorable area, together with a large population of skales at the western waterways.

Getting there[edit]

The Plains of Jarin connects Kamadan and three other outposts. Leaving Kamadan for the first time using the northwestern exit will bring players here. A variety of quests available in Kamadan and the Sunspear Great Hall lead to and take place here.

Notes[edit]

Gw2logo.png The Guild Wars 2 Wiki has an article on Plains of Jarin.
  • The Juvenile Bladed Termites are passive. There's a large group of them in the western waters. Watch out for the lone hostile Irontooth Drake in their midst.
  • Complete exploration of this area contributes approximately 2.7% to the Elonian Cartographer title.
  • Vanquisher runs of this area without active quests require defeating around 209 foes. Including quest influences, it has been reported to range from 188 to 229 foes.
    • Be careful with the hidden mandragor groups near Tarom Rockbreaker; the boss itself is part of a hidden group.
    • This area will yield about 1,800 Sunspear Promotion Points with all bounties. When vanquishing with non-Elonian characters this area will offer Istani bounties as long as you are below Sunspear rank 6. A Land of Heroes is the easier method for non-Elonian characters to reach rank 6.
    • If the quest Zaishen Elite is active, you must defeat the two Acolytes to successfully vanquish the area.
    • The festival quest White Mist adds three allied Humbugs to your team.
    • If there are at least two players in the party, it is possible to vanquish this area with a maximum party size of eight members. To achieve this, you need to speak to Dockmaster Dimedeh or complete the Blacktide Den or Venta Cemetery mission immediately before coming to vanquish this area. Any henchman that is not available in Kamadan and the Sunspear Great Hall will be removed from your party, however heroes (maximum 3 per player) and other players will travel with you.
      • You can also get to Kamadan through the Throne of Secrets after completing Abaddon's Gate; however, this only works for a party consisting solely of players, as all heroes and henchmen are removed when entering the Throne of Secrets.
