How can I become part of the Luxon Alliance?
Thanks
---Cabbagemanthegreat
My question is how do you get to become part of the luxon alliance?
- Your guild can become Luxon-aligned when your guild leader talks to Luxon Ambassador, an NPC located in the outpost of Cavalon. Please sign your comments with four or five tildes (~) to leave a timestamp. :) elix Omni 06:03, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
You have to have done befriending the luxons, before trying to join a luxon alliance. Once completed, you are allowed to join a luxon guild or alliance. If it's a guild, the leader has to talk with the Ambassador of the Luxon Alliance. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 06:08, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- To clarify, you don't have to have completed the quest to be in a Luxon guild, but if you wish to align your own guild with either side, you must do so using a character that has completed the appropriate "Befriending" quest. ··· Danny Pew Pew 17:41, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- You can also just earn more Luxon Faction than Kurzick Faction. You won't be "part of the alliance," but you'll be allowed to use Luxon NPCs. –Jette 19:13, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

is it possible for me to bring up my accouunt on a friends computer, (different from original comp)i would like to show them my account and to answer some questions about the 'normal' settup of a character.Sar Goroth M/R --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.176.42.196 (talk).
- Yes, just log in using your account information. This is assuming, of course, that the game is installed on your friend's pc. You can also run GW from an external hard drive, that's slightly more complicated, but works. -- FreedomBound 19:23, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
thankyou, i thought so, am having no luck logggin in, can you suggest any reasons why this might be so? yes, they have the game downloaded.Sar Goroth M/R --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.176.42.196 (talk).
- No need for new sections for replies ;). Only thing I can think of is the usual troubleshooting, make sure your password's right, make sure the computer's connected to the internet and isn't having trouble getting through the firewall, etc. Are you getting any specific error messages? -- FreedomBound 19:30, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Slavers Exile
Hello anyone, can you help me with this question. I've been running this mission that I wanted to do to get a chest but somehow I got a bug that I can't get rid of that's what I believe do other people have this bug? Anyways, the heroes on the other side of a wall, I was almost done the mission but when I died (when I was supposed to) they made me die before I was at the spot where i should've been so can u help me please? 99.252.163.223 22:35, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- Umm... could you describe what you are doing again? I don't quite understand what your problem is... It seems to me that you're trying to solo run the dungeon, but besides that I have no clue what the problem is... — Poki#3 (talk) 00:12, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- hi, the previous question I've been asking is how to get rid of a bug inside of the game Guild Wars it's been hacking into my game and it wont disappear can you please help me? 99.252.163.223 01:11, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- You don't have to start a new section, just respond in the previous one. For one, bugs don't "hack" into games, that expression is incorrect. Second: You should describe your problem as detailed a possible, so that we, other players like you, might get an idea of what, where and when your problem happens. We're not psychic. — Poki#3 (talk) 01:18, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- hi sorry if I'm not clear of that bug situation but the reason I'm using the term "bug" is because I don't know what else to call this "thing" that has been effecting all of the time I have been playing, I'm not sure what it is but everytime I play properly I fail, also, because I dont have much internet connection... so can you please help me??? 99.252.163.223 01:37, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- That didn't help at all. I'll make it easy for you.
- What are you doing when the "bug" happens?
- Where is it happening?
- What change or effect does the bug cause. ~Shard 01:51, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- From what I can tell from his first post, it sounds like he's doing a vsf run with heros, reaching the wall but then rubber-banding back a bit so he dies further back than he thought, in which case thats lag and not a bug. Tidas 08:46, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- Seems like Tidus may be on the right track. He says "when I died (when I was supposed to) they made me die before I was at the spot where i should've been" which seems like he's talking about rubber-banding. If that is the case try reading the page on rubber-banding to find solutions to your problems. Most of the time I am running, I will have /stuck in the chat log ready to press. ~Celestia 08:55, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Slavers Exile party
I have the challenge Slavers Exile, if I go on the challenge solo (with heroes) do I get a better chance of getting good stuff? or is playing with other players better?: can anybody explain or anyone with experience??? please 99.252.163.223 18:57, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- You get to open the chest one time whether you have 1 person or 8 people in your party. Drops other than those in that chest are influenced by heroes and henchmen, but despite what people will tell you, your personal drops will be the same whether your party members are heroes/henchmen or players. I suggest playing with heroes and henchmen, as they are smarter and friendlier than real players. –Jette 19:21, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- Jette, don't generalize so much. Don't you know anyone yourself that is experienced enough to be superior to a henchmen? I always prefer a guildie over a henchmen (heroes are a different case). Also to the OP, look on Loot_scaling and Anti-farm code for more information on what the effect is of other people on your drops. The only way to increase the chance of getting better items is to go in Hard Mode. You also get double the chest reward. Though often easy mode takes much less time and preparation. -- Karasu (talk) 22:14, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- No, actually, I don't. –Jette 03:30, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Rubber banding
How do you get out of rubberbanding? Because every time I try to move I move all the way back to where I started to run. Can someone help me please? 99.252.163.223 22:59, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- You can't actually "get out" of it and end up at the final point of the rubberbanding. Rubberbanding is in reality when your game client, and thus your character is not in sync with the game server; that causes the client to keep feeding you information, but in the server side (Where things actually matter) you are still in point A. Your only hope is to wait till the lag spike is gone, I guess. -- Large 23:08, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Rubber-banding only really happens when you try to run close to a group of monsters converging on you, usually while farming, or running. The monsters block you, but due to the way the client handles movement it may look like you're moving away, but you'll still see that monsters are hitting you. Rarely, you can get stuck on some parts of the terrain. What you're describing might simply be lag. Check your ping on the performance monitor. Sometimes lag is caused server side, but most of the time it's the fault of your Internet connection. As far as preventing RB, change your running routes slightly, and run a bit farther away from the monsters. Don't just try squeezing through. RB almost never happens during normal play. — Poki#3 (talk) 00:20, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Error with timers!
Me and all my guild and lots of other people are experiening a problem in all PvP with timers, all missions like unwaking waters and vizunah square which involve another group. The timer just dies and say errors like error 13 and error 15 WHY?! --Jigweasel 16:31, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's server errors. The server's having trouble syncing your group and the other group. -- FreedomBound 16:36, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Oh, but it never goes into the mission or match it's same with everyone... Some peeps in JQ have been waiting for an hour !--Jigweasel 17:16, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

I realise that, but some people such as freedom have GW knowledge soo.... Meh--Jigweasel 14:38, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- His point, and my point in not answering was that that's all we know. There's server errors, that's what's causing the problem. We can't say when it will be fixed, what's causing the server errors themselves, etc. -- FreedomBound 14:43, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

- It's worth a shot. Your actual data (characters and whatnot) is stored on the server, so that won't be lost, just try reinstalling. -- FreedomBound 18:56, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

I can't talk to someone about a mission!
So, I'm at quarrel falls and I want to do the next mission and I looked on wiki and it said that I need to talk to Gareth Quickblade.. But whenever I go and talk to him, he has nothing to say (and there is no like green ! above him) the only option is have is "thanks, ill be on by way"... What do I do, this is really frustrating and I just want to do the mission!
- You could have missed a primary quest that got you there. Do you have any primary quests now? If not what was the last quest or mission that you did do? Obie Quiet 21:45, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty positive i've done all the missions, and quests regarding the missions....
- The mission right before the quest Gareth Quickblade gives is Bloodstone Fen. Make sure you've done that, and if you have, try contacting support I guess. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku 14:04, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Complaint
--99.54.70.10 22:03, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Every time my character gets a zkey and goes to the chest for items it gets the same thing a flask of firewater. I don't want it and can't exchange it for anything good. Just wanted you to know about this I don't know if its a bug or what but I tired og getting those.
- May I inquire as to the total number of zaishen keys you have aquired and used to bring you to the conclusion that every item the the chest itself gives back is a flask of firewater. Most likely you have a case of what i like to call bad luck. Tidas 22:09, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- And why are you complaining to us? We're just PLAYERS like you... — Poki#3 (talk) 23:02, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'd try to collect many zkeys and then use them. You might not just get a flask of firewater. -- riyen ♥ 23:07, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- And if you're more worried about the payout from the keys rather than the Zaishen Rank points they give you, I'd suggest selling the keys to other players (you can get a price check in Great Temple of Balthazar). Generally, if your luck isn't amazing, you'll have an easier time simply selling the keys and using the gold to buy the items you want. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:07, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Quest History
I have searched everywhere I can think of and cannot find a journal or log of all the quests/missions that my character has completed. Is there any way to find this? or even a way to check on a specific quest to see if it has been completed. In some cases using the wiki to see who gives the quest is not sufficient.
- There is no way to see what quests you have completed once you have accepted the quest reward. You can see which active quests you have by checking the Quest Log. You can check which missions you have completed by zoning to the relevant campaign and viewing the map and checking the icons. Is there a specific problem you are having that is causing you to check for completed quests? Biscuits 17:33, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, but I finally found the next primary quest. After completing one of the Factions primary quests, I turned it in but got distracted and didn't immediately pickup the next quest. Long story short, it took me a very long time backtracking to figure out that the Emperors Hand had my next quest to continue the story. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.225.116.202 (talk • contribs) at 05:28, 25 October 2009 (UTC).
Altrumm Ruin mission
I have collected and killed just about very one. But each time the timer runs out my group and I die I cant seem to complete the mission. How or what do I need to do to get threw this?
- You don't really complete Altrumm Ruins, you just go as long as you can. Make sure you're picking up the amber, and remember that killing the bosses adds 60 seconds to the timer. You're just going for the high score. -- FreedomBound 19:14, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Also please note that Altrumm Ruins is a challenge mission, as opposed to a cooperative mission, so it is not required to continue the Factions storyline. If that's what you thought they were for, just find your next primary quest and go from there. --Dragon Nataku 19:50, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Missing world map icon. Please help
I got a run to droknars forge. after i got there i checked my map and there was no icon for it. I tried logging in and out and there is still no icon for it. can someone please tell me why i have no icon for droknar's forge on my world map?
- Are you looking in the right area of the map? If so, did you happen to logout or get disconnected before the runner reached Drok's? Or perhaps you logged out or got d/c'd while loading Drok's? Also, there is a town (Camp Rankor) that is a mandatory stop on the way to Droknar's Forge. Perhaps you mistakenly thought that this town stop was Drok's and left the party at that point? This mistake is often compounded by the fact that most runners will ask for the last payment in Camp Rankor. Please see this map for where Droknar's Forge should be on your map. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku 19:57, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
thanks, but im sorry it didnt help me. i have camp rankor on my map and the other stop on the way to drok's. i didnt get disconnected before i got there or as it was loading. im at drok's, but theres no icon on my map. i went to the ice caves of sorrow in hopes that if i got to a new place, the icon would show up, but its still not there.

- Darn, this just happened to me as well. Did the Glint mission with my new dervish, ended up in Droknar's Forge, then went back to Kamadan to clear up some quests. Logged off, logged back on again, ported to LA... and when I go to the map screen, there's no Droks icon on the map. -- Hong 13:27, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
well i contacted support and sent them and email and they sent back that they're sending the problem to their senior staff members. hopefully they'll send back a solution that'll help both of us.
- You could try clicking on the map where the Drok's icon should be. There's a small chance that the problem is cosmetic, i.e. that the icon is not displaying even though the link is available to you. Another any-port-in-a-storm thing to try: repair your gw.dat file (see the article on switches). It's vaguely possible that the icon is lost in between updates; running gw.exe -image should run a check that all your images are on your computer as they should be. Good luck! - Note that characters not born in Prophecies (and yours is not, since you wouldn't ask how to get to Ascalon if that was the case) do NOT have any quests before Lion's Arch. All those quests are only accessible to Prophecies born characters. The only think you can really do in that area, is exploration, vanquishing, and missions. If you want to get there by yourself, simply exploring the world and going roughly north-east / east of Lion's Arch will get you there. - If you check this map, and follow the red dots for the Mission Path, you will go through some black tar and then up onto land again. Where it says "Surmia Monument" is where you go into the fort-type place where the massive amounts of Charr are. From there, go through the entrance and then go right and follow that path. If you hold down the left Alt key, you will see a Lever and Erol and Rurik's names near it (they will be on the other side of the closed door). If you don't see Erol and Rurik's names near the lever while holding down the Alt key, that is not the lever. Please note that there is another lever near the Mission End green dot on that map, and that is not the one you want to use (if you hold down the Alt key near this lever, you will see some Flame Scepter Mage names instead of Erol and Rurik's names). The one you want is a lot closer to the Surmia Monument marker on that map, which is why I mentioned it. I hope that helps! --Dragon Nataku 14:36, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
My Mouse Pointer
This is really more of a technical question. When I start the game up, my mouse pointer starts acting weird and flickering on and off. I can still play the game, but it's really annoying to not know where your mouse is half the time. Help please, I use a laptop mouse. --76.16.9.209 23:23, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- What operating system are you running, what are the system specifications of the laptop? The mouse itself can't be the problem, but it's drivers can. What kind of mouse is it, and did you install and drivers for it? — Poki#3 (talk) 02:04, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- You might check the configuration of the mouse in the control panel; most laptops allow you to make it easier to "hide" the pointer when typing (to prevent accidental clicks on the touchpad). Also, some allow you to change the "polling" rate, which can also affect how often you see it pop up. Finally, a few mice come with settings that allow you other options to adjust the visibility of the point, including things that change the setting depending on what program is running. So, please also let us know what brand/name of mouse. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:18, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- My OS is Windows Vista 320bit version. The mouse is a Synaptics Touchpad v6.3 Woops, fixed my own problem. For anyone else: My mouse had a pointer trail on it, only it was set to be as short as possible. So I had to turn in off, not down. :' --76.16.9.209 03:17, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Ruins of Surmia. 3 levers?
I've taken the mission with the Prince 5 times, and every time I get to the gates to reconnect with the Prince, I can only find 2 levers; one on each side of the main gate. I've searched everywhere I can see to find the third (which activates the draw-bridge and opens the gate for the Prince, I believe). - If you are at Rurik's location, you should be able to see the location of the lever by pressing the [ALT] key; you won't be able to reach it yet. Head down the hill and east to follow the river of yuck to reach the north side of that gate. Work your way around; you can use the [ALT] key again to find the lever or the nearby Surmia historical marker. For me, it is easy enough to find the lever; I have a hard time finding the route to get there (I still sometimes get lost if I haven't done the mish in a while). - Also, please don't post the same question twice. You can just reply to your previous question if you require more help. Or you can check the map and instructions I left in your previous question about the same subject. --Dragon Nataku 14:45, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
