The Hall of Monuments was introduced in Guild Wars Eye of the North to facilitate players in transfering their accomplishments to Guild Wars 2 from their original Guild Wars account. It is a personalized instance that changes based upon certain specific things you have achieved. This feature is exclusive to GW:EN owners.

Heroes are born in the crucible of conflict and tempered in the flames of battle. Their deeds shine throughout history as a beacon of hope to those who must rise to defend the world in ages to come, becoming part of the legend of the land. The legends forged within Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and the Eye of the North will not be forgotten in the future world of Guild Wars 2.

Your deeds from the original Guild Wars campaigns will be commemorated in the Eye of the North expansion in your Hall of Monuments. The Hall of Monuments will reflect the achievements you earn in Eye of the North as well as those earned in Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. You will even be able to show off your hall to friends. Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can "inherit" from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures. These inherited items are unique: there is no other way within Guild Wars 2 to acquire them.

Monuments

The Monument of "Devotion" dedicates your miniatures for display.

  • Only 20 miniatures can be displayed at once at once, at this monument.1

The Monument of "Fellowship" will honor your unlocked Heroes with prestige armor and rare animal companions (Black Widow from The Underworld, Black Moa, and Phoenix from Factions). "Animal companion" can also be added.

  • Only 5 heroes or pets can be displayed at once, at this monument.1

The Monument of "Honor" shows your titles and accomplishments, including finishing a campaign.

The Monument of "Resilience" shows your prestige armor. Deldrimor armor is not considered a set and cannot be displayed, although Silver Eagle armor can. A set simply consists of a Top, Gloves, Leggings, and Boots. Headpieces are not needed.

  • Only 5 prestige armor sets can be displayed at once, at this monument.1

The Monument of "Valor" displays destroyer weapons obtained from the Eye of the North expansion and tormented weapons obtained from the Domain of Anguish.

  1. Please note that you can fill a monument beyond these numbers, and if you do your achievements are still in the monument, even though you may not be able to see them. To view the achievements that are not displayed, click on the monument pedestal and click the "Arrange Display" button to customize what monuments are shown.

The Monument of Honor has a tapestry and is available for use upon your first entrance to the Hall. Before a player can display anything on other monuments, a Monumental tapestry item is needed. Each monument requires a tapestry; you can use any tapestry over any monument.

Speaking to Kimmes the Historian will allow you to view your HoM as character or account based. Each character must enter the HoM before their items/accomplishments can be viewed on the account-wide setting.

The Scrying Pool is the central focus of this room, and provides players with a location to view visions and cinematics unlocked during game play. As you progress through the storyline, an icon called the Call of the Eye will appear in your effects monitor to signify that you should return to the Pool to receive a vision.

Link to Guild Wars 2

  • This feature does not allow characters to be transferred between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2. However, it does allow character names to be reserved.
  • It does not support bulk transfer of armor, items, characters, or gold. However, acquiring select items in GW1 will confer benefits in GW2 via the Hall of Monuments.
  • Each of your GW1 characters has its own Hall of Monuments. However, the rewards will be "unlocked" account-wide and will transfer to your GW2 account, and it is possible to display all monuments attained on one account in GW1. Accomplishments dedicated in GW1's Hall of Monuments will continue to update your GW2 account even after GW2's release.

Entering & leaving the Hall of Monuments

  • When you go into the Hall of Monuments with a party, you will see the achievements of party member 1.
  • If that party member leaves the Hall while the rest stays in it, all achievements of party member 2 will appear, when party member 2 leaves, the achievements of party member 3 will appear, etc.
  • The achievements of player 2 will display until player 1 loads.
  • You can still get the "There are currently too many miniatures in this district. Please try again" If you try to bring out a mini when there are more than 15 miniatures in the Devotion monument.

NPCs

Allies

Charmable Animal

1 The Rainbow Phoenix will only appear if the Party leader has all the Tapestries unlocked, is entering the hall alone, and has either of the following:
"People Know Me" or higher (ten or more maxed titles).
OR "Kind of a Big Deal" and every monument is displaying the maximum number of displayable items.

Notes

  • Exploration of the Hall will yield less than 1 Eye of the North mastery point
  • Due to the April 23, 2009 update, multiple copies of a statue can be put into a monument. This serves no purpose other than to pretty up a monument or fill in the gaps.
