Stuck in a corner and cannot move

For solo Luxon FFF, I start from Jade Flats and get the Arena quest. On the way down after talking to Arena Master Portus, I am getting teleported and stuck here in the corner (see picture.) Is there an emote like /relocate to move my character to a legal spot on the map? File:C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\My Documents\My Pictures\Stuck in Arena.jpg

Reporting misconduct

Hello, im a GW player i recently got scammed for 3k on a "supposed" run to chantry of kings (if thats even a real place) and this dude says he will run me there for 3k and then he logged. Misconduct such as scams can be reported by contacting support. The /report command can also be used, but it only works if the other player's character is still in the same zone. Unfortunately you won't get your cash back. -- Gordon Ecker 08:39, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

• 12 from attributes
• +1 from headpiece
• +3 from superior rune
• +1 from 20% chance for +1 death magic weapon
• +1 from Grail of Might

The above gets you to 18 death magic. Above that it gets trickier... with things like...

• +1 from Golden Egg
• +1 from Candy Corn

Is there any permenent why to have 20 or 19 death mastery? I have 16 Death mastery form sup rune, head piece and attributes.

define permanent. If you have loads of golden eggs, grails and other such stat raising consumables then yeh there is, by using them. If you mean passive boosts like runes etc... then no. 16 is the highest one can have using passive attribute boosts. -- Salome 20:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

What happends if you use a item but dont meet the requirement

By "item" do you mean a weapon/focus/shield-type thing? Basically, if you equip a weapon with a higher req(uirement) than you currently have, then the first line of text in the description (i.e., the damage range for weapons, or the armour for shields, etc.) will not be as effective (the weapon will do less damage than it would if you met the requirement, etc.). All of the other lines of text (mods) will still work, though (i.e., if your shield has a +30 HP or armour vs. fire or something you'll still get those benefits). --Dragon nataku 01:01, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

If you mean create one for your own personal use, as in a .jpg file, you'll have to take screens on the in-game map, then paste them all together using Paint or something. If that's not what you're talking about, then just ignore me. :P -- TERO talk 03:24, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

changing guild alliance

Talk to somebody in House zu Heltzer (called Kurzick Ambassador) to change alliance. You have to pay 500g to do so though, but you can't be in an alliance with other guilds when you do this (I think the exception is if your guild is the leader of the alliance). --Dragon nataku 00:57, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, you can get there as a Luxon. You just need to pick up the Journey to House zu Heltzer quest from Jamei in Maatu Keep and do that to get to HzH. You only need the 10k Kurz faction if you want to continue with the Kurz storyline after getting to HzH (i.e., doing Befriending the Kurzicks and eventually Eternal Grove mish). trouble connecting online

For some reason every time I try and communicate with other players in the game the message "player not connected" is returned, although I can still read other player's messages and I am connected to the internet. It sounds like the person you're trying to communicate with has set themselves to Offline status in the friends list window. When they do this, they can talk to you all they want, but you cannot send them messages. Which kinda sucks because then you can't tell them that they're set to Offline (some people just forget that they've done this). If you're in the same guild you can tell them via guildchat, or if you know how to contact them outside the game, you can let them know that way, as well. Collector's Edition mini

HELP WITH DIRECTX ( anyone that would work with guildwars)

So my computer crashed, and i lost directX (I think).... So i tried downloading versions 8.0 9.0 and 10.0 and several times... but still i cant connect to guild wars because i appparently dont have DirectX... Or i dotn know how to varify it. So i guess what i'm basicly asking is... where can i download a Direnct X that WILL WORK, or how do i varify i have it? Talk to me if i'm not being clear enough... PLEASE HELP!!!!

V8 is windows 2000, V10 is windows vista, and cannot be reinstalled. Run the "test my computer" on the GW login screen. This should help Dominator Matrix 01:35, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

1. Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, on the System tab, verify that the DirectX version is version 9.0c or later versions.
3. On the DirectX Files tab, in the Notes box, verify that the text "No problems found" appears. Dominator Matrix 01:40, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

I dunno about the later editions of GuildWars, but my original copy of Prophecies comes with install discs, and when you run the Setup option on the disc, it gives you an option to install DirectX 9.0c. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the DirectX 9.0c setup on the GW discs is a separate setup file. Either way, when you run the normal setup, it will ask you at the end whether you want to install DirectX 9.0c. -- TERO talk 02:52, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, when you run Setup on my copy, it gives you a menu where you can choose to install the game, install DirectX 9.0c, or some other stuff (like a GWs video). EDIT: Ok... so i downloaded 9.0 adn it said that it has already been installed but then i tried to run guild wars adn it still said i didnt have it.... but then agian i didnt try to do it from the disc... but anymore help will still be usefull.

If I were you, I would uninstall GuildWars completely, then reinstall. I don't think you'd have to reinstall DirectX again after that... the other problem could be that DirectX is messed up on your computer? --Dragon nataku 06:48, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

At this point, what I would do is:

1) Uninstall GW

2) Update your video driver to the most recent version. If you're not sure how to do this, I'd call the manufacturer of your computer/graphics card

3) Restart your computer

4) Reinstall GW, and select the option to install DirectX 9.0c

Actually, you may not have to get a new one, especially if the problem is just either an outdated driver or even a virus. Often enough, a lot of the companies who make video cards have websites, and have the drivers for them on their sites somewhere. Just Google your video card or something. And if you have a virus that your antivirus can't get rid of, you can always just reformat your hard drive. Sure, you'll lose all of your files, but you'll also get rid of the virus without having to buy a new computer. --Dragon nataku 17:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Umm, I usually right-click my desktop and hit R (for Properties) then go to Settings and it tells me where it says Display. You can also go here and run the GWs test and it will tell you what vid card you have after the test finishes. Or should. Good luck! --Dragon nataku 23:13, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Ummmm... you don't have a video card? At all? ^O__o^ Did you or someone other than a computer company build your computer, and/or did you buy a used and stripped computer? Cause... I've never actually heard of a computer with no video card whatsoever. ^O__o^ Even mine has one (albeit an uber-crappy one). If you have no video card, you will have to buy one, as it is a physical thing, like a hard drive or motherboard, not software you can just download/install. If what you are missing is, in fact, drivers for your video card, then you can probably download those online. Ah... I find it tedious to communicate this way... anyway. I suspect that when your computer crashed, all of your stuff got deleted, including files for your hardware (like your video card). When you reinstall Windows (I assume that's what you're using), it will install a bunch of basic files. You should have another disc that came with your computer that probably has a name that includes "Service Pack 2" or something on it. This disc will allow you to reinstall the files needed for your hardware (like your video card). The name of the disc changes based on who made your computer (Compaq, Dell, whatever), but if you look through all of your discs that came with your computer, one should say "to be used for recovery" or something on it. --Dragon nataku 22:01, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure downloading drivers for it will help if all of the files for it have been deleted. And I can't tell you which drivers to download anyway if I don't know which video card you have (different brands, and even different cards from the same brand have different drivers). I think your best bet would be to contact tech support of the company who built your computer and tell them that your computer crashed and the files for your video card got deleted. Can you death level charrs higher than level 20?

Please help if you know this, if your character is level 16, 17, 18 or 19, can you continue to death level Charrs higher than level 20 in Pre-Searing. For some reason, I can only lvl them up to lvl 20 and they don't seem to lvl any higher than that. Is it true their max lvl is 20 or has any one here lvl them up higher than lvl 20? clone character

im in pre ascolon today and there is a chara who has cloned 6 titan warriors with green dragons? all are sitting only i was wondering how is this possible? it looks like he is from an international guild the guild name looks russian. tks

I think he means that it's multiple characters that look alike that are sitting around and they all have the same pet and are in the same guild. This has been known to happen a lot in pre-searing. It's not all that hard to make your character look exactly like another character and have a similar name, especially in pre-searing where there are limited armour choices. --Dragon nataku 18:21, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

The hints we have gotten so far indicate that your HoM accomplishments and displays will only count towards unlocking things in GW2, not actually be available for use. no quests

ive got nightfall linked with the original guild wars,ive created a dervish then completed the quest to travel to lions arch,but i cant get any quests in guild wars i can do missions but nobody has the exlmation mark above them to do the quests,i can do the quests in nightfall but not guild wars? please help --82.39.202.181 19:46, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Certain quests are only available to characters native to that land. Play through Prophecies a bit and you should find the quests. Calor 20:57, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Non Prophecies characters can only get quests beginning in Lion's Arch with the exception of Malaquire's Test and then continuing forward in the game. -- Wynthyst 23:33, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

From what I remember, most of the quests starting in Lion's Arch and onwards are available to foreign characters (i.e., chars from Factions or Nightfall). The only "important" quest I can think of in Lion's that isn't available to foreign characters are the ones to get the Signet of Capture from Magi Malaquire. Things like Villany of galrath and Report to the White Mantle are available, though (the second one being a primary quest to continue the Prophecies storyline).

no voice in some factions cutscenes

Why is there no voice in some factions cutscenes? For example, when starting a newly created factions PVE character, there is a cutscene taht play with the begining of the story. There is only text at the botom of the screen that tells you, but no voice-over reading the text. Same goes for when you start an AB in pvp. But i hear voice in other campaignes like prophecies and nightfall and some in factions. Do I have an incomplete install of factions? do i need to reinstall? Thanks.

Yeah, we thought that was wierd there too. I think we figured that the obvious narrator for it would have been Master Togo, who is standing right there and being talked about, so having him do it would have been awkward. IMO they should have made the Emporer or Kuunavang do it, but IDK if either of them have voices as of yet or what they are. (Also, keep forgetting Kunnie's a girl. Hm. Wont Run

If this is your first time using the game (and/or just re-installed the game), after choosing a character and logging in, you will probably have to wait a rather long time for the game to download more files. Patience, grasshopper, once the files have downloaded you'll be able to play to your heart's content. Barring a zombie invasion or something, of course. --Dragon nataku 17:05, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Missing one Elite Signet in Nightfall

My titles bar is saying that I stillneed 1 elite signet in Nightfall, but I have reviewed multiple lists, multiple times and I have all the elite signets. Is there a mysterious hidden signet?

You know, the same thing happened to me just last week. I considered adding a note to the list that Wynthyst just indicated, but I didn't get around to it, apparently. Make sure you have Lightbringer Signet from the Seeker of Whispers in Chantry of Secrets. It's not on that list, but it counts towards the elites you need to get Elonian kill hunter. Punch the Clown

I'm having trouble with that quest. I can't seem to deal much damage... How long should defeating one Norn Brawler take? And does anyone have some hints for me on how to do this? --File:User Horsedrowner avatar.jpg horsedrowner 07:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

When I do it, it maybe takes ~10 seconds per brawler. (I'm not that good, but I've done it enough) The best hint that I can give you is, when you get knocked down, it's a LOT easier to stand back up if you alternate clicking the "Stand Up" skill and pressing 8 on your keyboard. That makes your energy go up twice as fast. Also, when you're attacking 2 or 3 of the brawlers at once, make sure to focus on one...once you knock them out, your health goes back up, and you can move on to the next. Restarting a quest

If you Abandon a primary quest is there any way you can restart it

Regarding Whirlwind Attack and scythes, I don't see any inconsistancy. Whirlwind Attack attacks the target foe and all adjacent foes once, scythes have a property which allow them to hit up to 2 additional foes. -- Gordon Ecker 04:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

What? That's not what I'm saying and that's not how it works. Scythes have a property which makes up to 2 additional foes within range targets for attacks made with it. Whirlwind Attack targets the target foe and all adjacent foes. So whats the deal??? Say I have 5 foes adjacent to me... the end result is it only pops up 5 dmg numbers. Shouldn't it pop up at least 7, 5 +2(due to weilding a scythe)? If not 15 since Whirlwind reads like it attacks each foe? I think what you're missing is that Whirlwind Attack is an attack in and of itself, it's not added to your next normal attack. It's just like Cyclone axe, triple chop, hundred blades etc. The property of the scythe being able to hit up to 3 adjacent targets is overridden by the skill - which hits all adjacent enemies.75.146.48.190 21:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

changing secondary profession to one from a different campaign

According to the Wiki, if u have more than one campaign, a character created in one campaign will have access to professions from the other campaign as their secondary profession. I have all three campaigns, but when i was choosing a secondary profession for my nightfall character, only nightfall professions were offered. Ohhhhhh, actually, I think he means the Death with Honor quest in Jaya Bluffs. It sounds similar to what he's talking about, but you can only do this quest if you're Factions-born (which is why some people might not recognize it). missing rune

I notice that there is a missing rune from the rune trader. Assassin Rune of Superior Shadow Arts. It's just because they're out of all of them (and sometimes majors too) because everyone and their dog hero is using perma-shadow-form stuff lately. The traders don't list things that they have zero of, apparently.

The Rune Trader has done this to me rather often with minor vigor runes. I never fully understood why. The trader will sometimes buy the same rune from me at a different point in time, but most of the time refuse. I always hypothesized that it was because it was "too expensive" (1k at that time, seems a bit odd to call that "expensive"), but I never tried it with other runes around or above that price. I am trying to connect my Nightfall campaign to my Prophecies campaign. I bought the Prophecies/Eye of the North Platinum edition. I entered the key and for Eye of the North things came up to connect, however nothing for prophecies. How and where do i get to prophecies from Nightfall?

Factions into Factions Collectors Upgrade?

Ok, i currently have all the campains tagged together as one (prophecies, factions nightfall and EotN on one account) but what i would like to know, is if i bought Factions: Collectors and added this code to my account, will it take effect? because i would not like to waste £50 on something that may/may not work?

will it overwrite my current factions? lose my account? delete my factions based characters? or will i get the full Benifit and be able to use /dancenew and the kuunavang?

warrior energy problem

Uh...from my experience, there is no possible way for a warrior to have 4 energy regen, unless affected by energy regen spells, such as Blood Ritual and Blood is Power. Well, technically /petname NAMEOFPET also works, but I've always used /namepet. If you ever want to change the name you've given him/her/it/cheesecake, just use the same command. If you want to reset the name (i.e., if it's a Snow Wolf, to reset the name to (whatever) Snow Wolf), just type /namepet without a name after it (this is how one can see what evolution their pet is currently on, i.e., Hearty, Elder, Playful, stuff like that). bonding

in my vast research of gw game playing came across an item of bonding. like bonding a hero monk to an npc that you are suppose to keep alive for the mission or quest.unfortunately i cant find an explanation on how to bond. probably cause i dont know what im looking for. any ideas??

I have beaten a boss several times now in Sacconth valley and yet has drop the unique green weapon that wiki says he can drop. Sunspear Quests - "Rising in the Ranks: First Spear"

Anyone know if I'm stuck? In NF, I collected enough Sunspear points (about 125) before I ever activated the First Spear quest from Runduk [Sunspear Rank Officer]. And when I accepted the quest, he won't give me my reward or title - I suspect because I've got more points than First Spear needs. I've been using Expert Focus with 15 in expertise: Preparation. For 24 seconds, your bow attacks cost 2 less Energy and deal 10 extra damage. Expertise should reduce energy cost: 15*4%=60%, if a shot costed 10 now it should cost 4, 4-2(expert focus)=2, but it costs 3:

If you need to figure out which drivers to download, go to Start Menu -> Run... -> and type in dxdiag . That will bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Click on the "Display" tab, and it should bring up a window stating the Name, Manufacturer, and Chip Type. Whatever is listed next to "Manufacturer" is the company that makes your card. Go to their website (Google it), and go to their downloads/drivers section. It'll probably ask you what model your card is...that's listed in the DirectX window next to "Chip Type". Then, download the driver, and follow the insructions on the website on how to manually install their drivers (it's probably just as simple as running a setup file). I hope you guys realize that this is the same guy from the "HELP WITH DIRECTX" topic further up the page. To recap for lazy people who do not want to go read the insanely long topic, his computer crashed. I had him run that "Can you run it?" test for GuildWars, and under the video card section it came up a huge question mark. I have concluded that when his computer crashed, the files for his vid card were erased, and as he cannot find his recovery disc, his computer apparently no longer recognizes that he does, in fact, have a video card. So I'm not sure running dxdiag will help much. Can't find next Primary quest in Nightfall. I have not abandoned any quests with this current character.

I've visited all outposts for NPC's with explanation marks and found none.

Well, I believe to put an armor set in the Hall of Monuments, all the pieces except the headpiece need to be from the same set of armor. But besides that, it's all the same. You don't take more or less damage or get some special inherent benefit from the gloves. Calor 15:20, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Aaaaaaaaactually..... I bought warrior Canthan 15k for my war, but thought the helm was stupid, so didn't get it. But I could still display the entire set (including the helm I never bought) in my war's HoM. No, you don't need the entire set. If you want to mix and match armor pieces that you like, go ahead. This game isn't WoW, where you get a certain bonus if you have all the armor from a certain set. And, if you're worried about HoM, either:

• Complete one set, HoM it, get parts you want from second set, wear the combo you want, eventually finish second set and HoM it too.
• Get the mixed set you want, then fill in the rest of the pieces until you have two full sets to dedicate.

My first question is where to make suggestions for improving GW? I spent 10 minutes looking and this is the closest thing I could find.

Suggestion 1: Allow members of a guild to view the members of allied guilds (similar to the Guild (G) window). My guild is allied with two others. The friends list is nice, but I can't tell who is from each guild.

Suggestion 2: Allow the user to add a nickname next to each friend they add to the friends list. I just can't memorize which friends go with which character names.

Suggestion 3: Allow the Guild Merchant (and possibly other guild vendors) to retain items sold to them for resale to other guild members. This would facilitate trading amongst guild members. Caveats: a) the Merchant would mark up the price. b) There would be a either a time or item limit on items the merchant would keep before tossing items as unsellable. c) Perhaps the merchant would only do this for Gold or Green items.

ArenaNet:Portal is where you can find a lot of the suggestions, and it's in the navigation bar to the left under Arenanet interaction.
