Halloween 2009 was a Guild Wars in-game event, to celebrate the annual return of Mad King Thorn.

Halloween has come to Tyria, and that means the return of Mad King Thorn, new holiday quests, loads of creepy items, the Costume Brawl PvP event, and more!

The ghoul-apalooza begins on October 23rd and runs until 12:01 AM Pacific time on November 2nd. The main festivities take place in Lion's Arch and Kamadan, but the Halloween spirit can be found in other places around Tyria.

Mad King Thorn’s games begin! His minions ride!

His grip on the land will strengthen

But all is not well on this Halloween

It stirs in the Underworld’s gloom

An ancient evil, long unseen

If awakened, it spells our doom

Do partake in the Mad King’s revelry

But take care in the jack o’ lantern glow

For this is the season of devilry

And something wicked lurks deep below

Event calendar

Date	Activity
Friday October 23rd	Lion's Arch, Kamadan, Droknar's Forge, and Tomb of the Primeval Kings are decorated in the Halloween spirit.
Monday October 26th	The new series of Halloween quests starts in Lion's Arch and Kamadan.
Saturday October 31st	Mad King Thorn makes appearances every three hours throughout the day in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. His first appearance will take place at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time and his final appearance will begin on November 1 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time.
Monday November 2nd	Festivities conclude at the stroke of midnight.
