Emotes[edit]

See the Emote page for a complete list of emotes.

Character information[edit]

  • /age displays the following message in your chat window: "You have played this character for <number> hour[s] <number> minute[s] over the past <number> <day[s] or month[s]>.
Across all characters, you have played for <number> hour[s] <number> minute[s] over the past <number> <day[s]
    or month[s]>.
You have been in this map for [<number> minute[s]
    or <number> hour[s] <number> minute[s]]."
Bug Bug.The /age command tracks full minutes spent per map, and will truncate any seconds down to the previous minute when zoning or logging out. This also counts for the server instance in towns when you join one, meaning you could gain 1 minute of age, by only being there a few seconds.
  • /deaths displays the following message in your chat window: "You have died <number> time[s] and have gained <number> experience since death."
  • /health displays the following message in your chat window: "Health <current health>/<current maximum health>, Energy <current energy>/<current maximum energy>".
  • /hp is the same as /health.

Miscellaneous[edit]

  • /bonus creates any bonus items unlocked for the account in your character's inventory. Only works in an outpost or town.
  • /bonusitems displays a complete list of bonus items unlocked for the account in your chat window.
  • /cokeplay is for Korean players only. See Coke Item. For other players, it works like /bonus.
  • /favor displays the length of time left before the Favor of the Gods expires, or displays how many more titles have to maximum rank before the world once again earns favor.
  • /help opens the Help panel. Same functionality as the F10 key.
  • /invite <character name> invites the named character to your party. Only works in an outpost or town.
  • /ip displays the IP address of the server to which you are connected.
  • /kick <character name> kicks the named character out of your party. Only works in an outpost or town.
  • /leave causes you to leave your party. Only works in an outpost or town.
  • /namepet <name> changes the name of your pet. If used without a <name> parameter, this will restore the default name of the animal.
  • /petname <name> is the same as /namepet.
  • /preorder is the same as /bonusitems.
  • /report <character name> sends a report about the named character.
  • /report sends a report about the currently targeted character.
  • /resign causes a party to die and forfeit if all of its members use this command in PvP. If all members of a party use this command in PvE, their party dies and the party leader receives the Return to Outpost button on their screen. Doing this will not increase the death count displayed by /deaths.
  • /roll <number> rolls a <number>-sided dice (2-100 sides). Only works in guild halls and outside of outposts and towns.
  • /special creates any special items (Broken Toy, Factions Collector's Edition Prize, Nightfall Collector's Edition Prize, and/or promotional miniatures) unlocked for the account in your character's inventory.
  • /stuck frees your character if they become stuck. This not only frees you from being stuck in the ground, but can also show you where you are standing if you think you might be rubberbanding. In addition, any skill currently being activated is canceled. However, this command does not always work, e.g. if you are stuck in a gate during an Alliance battle or on a beacon in Borlis Pass.
  • /wiki opens the Main Page in your web browser.
  • /wiki <search term> searches the main space of this wiki for <search term>.

Developer and game master commands[edit]

Developers and game masters (GM) have special commands that they can use for debugging, support, and for hosting live events.

In addition, developers have special commands that they can use on the private development and staging servers in order to test new functionality. These commands are not available, even to developers, on the live servers. Developers intentionally limit their ability to cheat or to affect the economy on the live servers, because they want to play the game the same way everyone else does, and they don't want to have to police other developers and GMs.

For a list of known developer and game master commands of this kind, see Game master.

Deprecated[edit]

The following commands have no known use or have been disabled, but are accepted by the client and will not result in an "Unknown command." response.

  • /bug provided the ability to send Guild Wars Support "important game data" when submitting a support request on their support website.[1] Was first used in the beta to report bugs.
  • /.favor has no known use.
  • /follow Was used to follow a selected target, was mostly used for power leveling.
  • /ignore supposedly was used to add the currently targeted character and any other characters on that same account to your ignore list (if space permitted).
