Oh? Is it my turn? Sorry, I- never mind.

Happy now?

..or does someone else wan't a new version of Pumpkin Crown this year? Like, they did a new version of Dragon mask? Personaly, I think the time is right: with one-in-a-lifetime-quests and all that! :DCharocles 20:08, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- I want a pumpkinhead myself, I missed the Halloween that had them. Along with the witch hat. I got all the festivla masks that don't match anything :(-- anguard 20:13, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- I want the older pumpkinhead and the witch hat. And don't get me started with 2005 and 2006 Wintersday hats. I missed all of them! :D - J.P.Talk 09:35, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- I wanted the witch hat too, but I didn't have Nightfall at the time. It'd be neat if they did do a different version of it! Blessed Jade Wind 15:31, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Just wanna hav ye' olde pumpkin on me head
- I know what ure talking about, JP... I missed alot of those early masks, 2!:/ However, I'm happy to say that I maneged to get the Freeze Crown (or what its called...). I rly love it :D Charocles 17:01, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Last year's face-paint was positively awesome (my rit sports it year round when hanging out in towns). I really think two pumpkin heads is enough... This year I want something animated or glowy, or another thing like the face-paint. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 20:00, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Ye olde GLOWIN pumpkin head?
- we NEED another pumpkin hat... we crave it.. we demand it... we... rly want one plzzz!!!DD: No but seriously, another pumpkin crown would be awesome... It could be called "Mad Pumpkin Crown". Thats e very good idéa!!!^^Charocles 10:23, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Now, if it is Mad King's head, then sure go ahead (ha!). But seriously, holidays are already severely lacking when it comes to fresh content or incentive to even log in. I'm very glad, it seems they're putting a lot of effort into this halloween from the looks of Lindsay's journal things, but we already have two pumpkin heads and the second one was ridiculous (wow, a cute smiling pumpkin head, that really is great...). Enough rehashing, please, PLEASE, isn't that what April was for? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 20:25, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

New Quests[edit]
Only this Halloween season, maybe some sort of end-chest prize -> Mini Mad King's Guard? Rarity on the scale of Mini Polar Bear.. -- Skeletor, lord του νεκρός 08:48, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- My guess is that will be either a mad king guard minipet or, being halloween, maybe one Makeover credit as a reward for quests.--Sharkinucontribs 08:52, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Mmm I don't think it will be Makeover credits since they have never given real-money-purchasable items away in-game before. -- Skeletor, lord του νεκρός 10:28, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yup, I agree. I think it might be something along the Traveler gifts - an exclusive/rare mini, maybe a green. I doubt it would have a rarity on the scale of the polar Bear, tho. It would have to have a chance of appearing out of w/e end reward it is, and with millions of people going at it, it's bound to pop up more often. 89.122.19.195 12:45, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Or maybe EL Tonic of Mad King Thorn... Lápi 13:14, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- I wouild like to make my perdictions that the quests offered will be solo quests and when your off doing them your will get a buff, so your health, energy and armor is set, i think there may be like the winterday quests where they are repeatble. also need to add to the page that the costume brawl starts on friday as well as all the NPC collecters shouild be ariveing--Thedreadlordpie 14:39, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

- "Makeover Credit" That is not how cash-shops work. No company in their decrepit mind would just hand stuff out for free when they can make you pay for it in the cash shop or better yet PUT IT ON SALE (which actually brings in more money then not having a sale). /cashshopangst, anyway I will go off on a whim and guess it has something to do with GW2/Ancient Dragons. Collectors[edit]
Anyone know if the normal collectable NPC's will be at the event or have I been farming the crap for nothing, lol
- I'm sure they will be, but we don't add them to the page until the appear in the game. And they don't all appear at once, they come over time, so don't worry if they aren't there at first. -- Wyn talk 00:12, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Someone on Guru .dat'd the new quest[edit]
Here's what he found:
"Gathered from gw.dat
- will probably be a solo quest.
- take place in the underworld.
- player is transformed into an Agent of the Mad King with a custom skill bar.
The goal it seems is to capture as many Skeleton of Dhuum as possible while avoiding traps/enemies.
Agent of the Mad King skills
Sugar Rush - speed boost
Sticky Ground - snare
Sugar Shock - knock down
Everlasting Mobstopper - capture Skeleton of Dhuum
Mob skills or traps
Bone Spike
Flurry of Splinters"
There's also a bug right now. Use a tonic and then a sugar item and it will say something about Mad King Sugar Rush or something. Can't remember what it said. Karate Jesus 18:40, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
1 problem, they say chain of questS in plural, wich normally means there will be more than one :D --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:84.196.126.75 (talk).
- literal quotation (text under quest of the halloween page on the official guildwars site): ""The new series of Halloween quests starts in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. Speak with the Mad King's Steward to begin your adventure! Remember, these quests are only available this year, so be sure to complete them while you can!""
I highlighted the important words for you, those words used in plural. So I don't know if it is a doubt.
Thank you for trying to spoil everything! Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 18:29, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome! And honestly, I haven't seen anything to convince me that there's more than one quest. Mistakes with "plurals" have been made in the past. It's possible that there's just one. Karate Jesus 13:59, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
If you say so, it would be nice tough if there will be more than 1 quest.
- I think it's highly likely that there be a chain of quests. Do one, do something else for the guys you just helped, help them fix what they broke, etc. There is precedent for this, and it's much more likely than a single quest. 89.122.19.195 08:41, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Karate Jesus, they didn't just say "quests". They wrote "SERIES OF QUESTS", implying that there's more than one. Hope that's it's clear this time, but yet again I'm not sure. --Frozen 15:22, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Dude, WTF? Only 2 Halloween quests??? Now that sucks... --[[Image:Canthan script - dark.jpg|30px]]Timus 06:00, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm enjoying reading this after the fact. Also, KJ, no one mistakes every instance for the plural, not to mention the improbability of writing "them" for "it"... anyway, tis behind us now| 72 {U|T|C} 15:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Underworld quest?[edit]
I'm a relatively new player and have not ascended yet-- do holiday quests like these typically require you to have access to the area (in this case, the Underworld), or do they teleport you there somehow?
Bard09 4:42, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- You get teleported there --RIDDLE 05:09, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Edit Conflict: Usually the quest NPC will teleport you from a port town, (Either Lion's Arch, Kamadan or Kaineng Centre) directly to the Underworld. This is how the Wintersday quests, which take place in the Underworld, are handled. You can be any level and still enter the Underworld from the quest NPC. In the case of the Wintersday quests, the version of the Underworld you load into is different from the one you see normally, and you are buffed to keep it accessible to anyone. Ascension, or its equivalent, does not matter. 114.78.7.146 05:11, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- These Halloween quests require you to have access to one of the UW access cities, like Temple of the Ages or Chantry of Secrets, not just a port city. However, you don't have to be Ascended/Hunted/Weh No Su, or even level 20, to enter, only must have a run to the city, the easiest obviously being LA-ToA. Rose Of Kali 11:18, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Why only Lions Arche and Kamadan?[edit]
Am I the only one wondering why this event only takes place in Kamadan and Lions Arche? or are there more people wondering why the madking wont appear in Kaining center? I hope for a quick response.--Wysth 11:10, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe because the Dragon Festival is Factions-only. | 72 {U|T|C} 14:13, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- And Canthan New Year. It's always been this way, LA and Kamadan get Halloween and Wintersday, Cantha gets Dragon Festival and CNY. -- Wyn talk 14:21, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Probably because Halloween isn't celebrated by the Canthan people. ;)
Also Anet had two teams working on the creation on their games, one team worked on Prophecies and Nightfall, whilst the other just on Factions - prolly another reason why Halloween is in Tyria and Elona, and not Cantha. -- Skeletor, lord του νεκρός 21:02, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Well, I did get some ToTs when Nick-farming this week. No quests or hats or collectors, but at least you can get ToTs. Rose Of Kali 11:20, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- @ MrPaladin - it could be a marketing ploy, or something to do with the fact that Kaineng Center is almost always packed with people anyway. I don't much enjoy watching my ping go up into the 50k range during the New Year, and I think Halloween would do the same. Kamadan is bad enough, thank you. - Vik 18:41, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Quest Acquisition / Time Frame[edit]
The question i am looking to see, and should be in the quest section somewhere, is what time frames can you accept these quests?
- when can you start accepting the quest
- when is the quest no longer offered?
- at what point are you prohibited from entering uw for the quest any more?
- when is the reward no longer offered for the quest?
Some people cannot be here every day, but if they can run in and grab the quests and do them later that would be useful to know. --131.193.231.129 19:47, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

No New Quests?[edit]
Seems to be no new quest today, Anet sure are keeping the public happy -.-
According to people in LA the absence of a new quest is due to the fact that some people found yesterdays quest "too hard" and they wanted to give people more time to complete it. Apparently Regina posted that on a forum somewhere or something along those lines.--Evil guy563 19:25, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'd rather believe there isn't another quest than check the forums... Tidas 19:27, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Well that's not logic because... If many people think it's too hard, many people probably died wich means normally Dhuum would wake up faster, as he got more energy thanks to all those dying noobs (nothing personal, no offense)--Echo, Sierra Echo(this is not a cheap bond rip-off XD) 19:44, 28 October 2009 (UTC)19:41, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- Um...ok, 1) the quest wasn't hard. It just took a while. 2) Never listen to the forums unless they have actual information from an official source or screenshots to prove what they're saying. 3) They technically have 4 (5?) more days to complete it. The quests have to be done in order. 4) Who knows what the hell is happening? No one. So quit speculating.
- They'll tell us soon what's happening or just not provide another quest. Either way....it's probably gonna suck. Karate Jesus 19:40, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- As Regina stated on GW Guru (yet another great work from the communication team), these quests aren't daily. --Frozen 19:41, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- I would expect Arenanet to have had this planned out so that all the quests would finish at a specific time. I don't think they pushed this time back a day. Besides, the quests aren't time-sensitive day-wise. You can do yesterday's quest and today's without stalling all the people that did yesterday's.... yesterday. Taros 19:43, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Its rough the first time, complete it once and you'll have it down, just make good use of your Knock-downs, and MK influence, i didn't think it was hard when i did the quest the first time, i thought to much work for the reward but decided eh something good will come at the end--Lord randy taylor 23:54, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- I would imagine, since Arenanet likes setting things up like theres a pattern and then smashing it into the ground with some twisted sense of developer logic (just look at Deldrimor armor in EoTN) that the last quest(s) will become avaliable the day before, or on the day of the finale, and cause massive amount of issues because they will be challenging and people will miss out blah-blah-blah. But, I could be wrong.
- As for the quests; as with most things people don't know how to use the function of patience, or observe patterns. First quest was an absolutely breeze, second quest was challenging but with the reduction in spawns within the UW itself it was only the Pits, with the way it's laid out, that proved to be time-consuming. After discussions I have had with people in Kamadan and LA, the main issue people are running into is exactly that, they run into it thinking they a) can do it by just running really fast, and b) forget that each skill has a specific useful function. ~~000.00.00.00~~ 18:58, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
There better fucking well be a new quest today. It's not my fault people are morons that can't handle 10 second KDs. Instead of slowing everyone else down, give these idiots an extra day AFTER the quests are introduced... 147.226.88.228 19:26, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- According to Regina again, there will be no quest tomorrow either. But I'm not in US, so maybe that she was in fact talking about today. Go figure... That's a good excuse for them to delay their "work" anyway. --Frozen 19:29, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

- User:Regina_Buenaobra/Journal#Quick_Reminder_About_Frequency_of_Halloween_Quests_-_29_October_2009 de Kooning 19:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
I found your comments actually laughable, Regina has stated on her journal that the quests ARE NOT DAILY but that theres just a series of them, which means that they could appear within the next few days, the festival continues right through till Monday which means youve still got 4 days of which the quests could appear on so try to be patient and stop complaining. People think just because its Halloween this week and the introduction of a quest chain automatically makes it daily? wrong, just because its a new quest chain does not mean it has to be daily so try to have some patience about it.Simzy 19:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly, there is no real reason to hold back on further quests due to them all being available. Looks more like the quests are not ready or they may be dumbing them down. Aro 21:14, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- ITT People complaining about innovative progressive quest implementation (innovative as far as guild wars goes) only because it's not daily. Wow people, way to be. Let's just forget about trying to add some vitality to a PvE-dry 5 year old game and go back to farming z-quests.
- And to the Mr's and Mrs's that want to be chauvinistic and tout their "amazing" ability; no, the quest isn't hard. The issue isn't a hard quest. The issue is mechanics flaws - mostly out of the hands of players - that make what should have been a pleasant quest into a painstaking experience. Have you been living under a rock? Actually, this may be news to you, but not everyone is a 5 year Guild Wars vet. Guild Wars publicity is not yet awfully low which means a lot of new players join daily and are fresh to everything. So in fact, in some cases the quest is indeed hard with very high-end mobs and a large initially map-less zone. There should be no manner of elitism trying to downcast new players who want to participate in a holiday.
- No, I'm sure no one is excited to not have as many new quests as fast as possible. This isn't what is supposed to excite people, you're supposed to be excited about the content, and when it's delivered is irrelevant especially in this case. - The community could really do without people who spoil yet-to-be-implemented but confirmed content. It's really troubling why people rush around so much. I don't see the logic in wanting to spoil things like what the next quest will be like or what the hat will be. If it's an urge to document the game perfectly, I see it as counter intuitive to documentation; just because you know it's coming doesn't mean it should be presented, it's not in the game yet and is not meant to be a part of anything yet. The .dat file is not what this wiki is here to document. Note on Daylight Saving Time change[edit]
If I'm correct, and I always am, at least the US and possibly other places will be switching their clocks at 02:00 local time on 01-Nov-2009. What this means moving from the international date line is that if your zone changes time at 02:00, your offset from ANet's PDT will change at that time. For example, in the Eastern time zone (GMT-5, currently UTC-4, changing to UTC-5) at 02:00 01-Nov (23:00 31-Oct PDT) the time will switch back to 01:00 while PDT will remain the same for the final appearance of Mad King Thorn, meaning the final appearance of Mad King Thorn for those in EDT/EST will be at 02:00 rather than 03:00. This will hold true for other time zones that fall back an hour, and could very well affect the local time of several of Mad King Thorn's appearances by one hour local time. Thought a quick heads-up would be a good thing! 74.40.135.18 14:26, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, it happens pretty much every year. -- Wyn talk 14:35, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, daylight saving time shift pretty much happens every year for those areas that observe it, but the actual time change doesn't affect the local time of appearances of Mad King Thorn every year. Thought someone might want to update the time chart or the note on the main page so that people don't miss him because they're thinking he'll be there an hour later than he actually appears. Also, UTC <> GMT since GMT does the daylight saving time shift, so in the spring GMT is actually UTC+1, and when set back in the fall is equal to UTC. 74.40.135.18 15:35, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- GMT doesn't change - it's effectively the same as UTC all year round. I think you're mixing it up with BST. -- pling 15:38, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- With all due respect, perhaps updating the Greenwich Mean Time Wikipedia article would be in order then *wink* While I agree GMT doesn't change, GMT is not used during the summer if referring to times by nation-specific names such as GMT and BST as opposed to WET and WEST. There's plenty more for good reading, but here's a decent start:
- "In the UK, GMT is the official time only during winter; during summer British Summer Time is used. GMT is substantially equivalent to Western European Time."
- Before people insist on bogging this down with inaccurate semantics, the main issue here is that any time zone that switches before the Pacific time zone (currently UTC-7 and switching to UTC-8) will see the appearances of Mad King Thorn an hour earlier than they would expect if their time did not fall back. 74.40.135.18 16:26, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Don't the Mad King's Guards usually stand up 5-15 minutes before the event. The event time says it starts in just moments.. and they're still seated.. So.. if the timer wrong?76.6.79.104 07:01, 31 October 2009 (UTC)- That's a No. xD 76.6.79.104 07:16, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Er yeah, I read that. I was referring to "UTC <> GMT since GMT does the daylight saving time shift, so in the spring GMT is actually UTC+1, and when set back in the fall is equal to UTC", which isn't true. Whether it's used or not, it's static, and it's the same as UTC. -- pling 14:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Finished festival times[edit]
Instead of deleting time periods for finished festivals, can we gray them out instead? - Decollete 14:56, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Time zones, again...[edit]
Ok, we have this discussion every frigging year, for each festival. We list PST because it's the time ArenaNet uses. We list UTC because it's a standar timezone that can be easily converted to any local timezone.
We don't list particular timezones because there are far more of those than required. And none here has more right to claim which ones are "important and relevant" to be listed than others. If you keep insisting on adding all of them, i will have to ask for adding CLST too, since i am too lazy to substract -3 to UTC.
And by the way, this is not wikipedia. If people doesn't know what is the difference between PST and PDT, that is not really something we should document. Heck, i don't live in america and i know the difference.--Fighterdoken 17:00, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed with Fighterdoken here. We only document PST and UTC, the rest people have to work out for themselves. -- Salome 17:03, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree; to my mind there is no harm in providing the information. --DryHumour 17:05, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- There is. There are far more timezones on the world that what we can document here. UTC works fine for reference purposes.--Fighterdoken 17:07, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- So revert the shit yourselves?-- anguard 17:09, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Afterall, there are at least 24 distinct timezones... Make a guideline for future timetabled events for future reference.Elephant 17:15, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- My opinion is still that a representative set doesn't really do any harm, but I'll abide by the apparent prior consensus. Nevertheless, the point Elephant makes is a good one. I presume that the reason this is discussed festival after festival is that there is no guideline for first-timers like myself. --DryHumour 17:21, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- it's worth noting that poke programmed a clock to appear next to the personal links (where the link to your user page, talk page contributions etc. are), which displays the time in UTC, so you can just check that clock and compare it to the time table :/. ~ PheNaxKian 17:33, 31 October 2009 17:33, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

DO NOT change the format of this table: lightgreen = a.m, lighblue = p.m, lightgray = "it was" (will change to white). this format used by any holiday before, so don't change the colors. --Itay Alon 17:56, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, good grief. I suggest updating GWWT:GF#Time Zones if that's another previously undocumented formatting requirement. --DryHumour 18:02, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oh cool... we expect ppl to do the math to their timezones, but at the same time we _need_ different colors for am and pm because ppl are too dumb to figure it out by themselves? Interesting... Don't get me wrong though, im all for just listing PST and UTC but the thing is the new coloring actually made it more distinctable and at the same time looked waaay better. --87.183.8.36 02:13, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

- In all things on this wiki, we strive for consistency. The community that uses these pages for information get used to seeing things a certain way, and by staying consistent from one event to the next, we make that easiest for them. As has been noted by several people in this discussion, this is brought up during EVERY in game event where there is a scheduled finale, and the mass consensus is to use the two timezones that correlate to the game for the broadest section of the community. Pacific time, since that is what ArenaNet is based on and UTC (GMT) because that is the global time standard. Both of these time zones are listed by ArenaNet in announcements, both on the log in screen, and on their website. The addition of the UTC clock at the top of the wiki page should make it relatively easy for anyone viewing the schedule to calculate when events will happen in their timezone as it gives a point of reference, which is also why the UTC times on the schedule are listed in 24hr format. To help those members of the community that find it difficult to convert their timezone into one of the two standards, I have created Help:Timezone conversion chart. This page can be linked on each event page where a schedule is required. Will this possibly end this perpetual discussion? -- Wyn talk 13:57, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think that there is general agreement concerning the zones; I believe that posters in this sub-thread are debating the colour coding for AM/PM times. (See also GWWT:GF#Colors for further discussion.) For my part I feel that the colour coding is not entirely self-explanatory, and is redundant for time having either explicit AM/PM or in 24h format. A simple green/grey scheme is, to my mind, preferable. --DryHumour 17:02, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Relevant?[edit]
So I happened to be walking to the far storage in LA, when the ground started talking to me. I looked around the wiki, but I have yet to find any info about it. Am I blind, or what? Screenshots [2] & [3] if anyone is interested/cares. Sorry I got my name in it, but sometimes it just goes on and on about you... - Vik 04:47, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

- Like I said, I only brought it up because I couldn't find any other info on it. If someone wants to take a pic without their char name in it, that's cool, too. - Vik 04:50, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- This is the famous buried corpse. Stand on it and dance. That'll get it real riled up :) 76.164.111.57 05:45, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Wrong end time again[edit]
ANet got the holiday timing wrong again. The last holiday was supposed to end on a Tuesday ("Event will last through 11:59 PM Pacific (-7 GMT) on Tuesday"), but ended Monday 12:01 am (Just after Sunday midnight). This one was supposed to end on the 2nd at 12:01 am (Monday just after Sunday midnight), but as of 1:59 pacific time, you could still turn in quest rewards and exchange items at the various collectors. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 10:14, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Half of the stuff has finished, the other half hasn't. I've been round just now trying to hand in collector items (my bad for reading the wiki event calendar and not the official login, and thinking that midnight on the 2nd meant the midnight at the end of Monday rather than the end of Sunday/start of Monday) and only the ones in LA, Ascalon and Kamadan are still there. Drok's, Henge, Kodlonu, Champion's and Sunspear collectors have all gone, although the decorations are still up at Drok's.--Smarty 11:04, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- OTT Note on this year Pirate Day -> It was meant to finished on Midnight Monday, not Tuesday (Anet stuffed up announcement using last year's one). Batchie 11:13, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- And no spectactular end to the new quest chain. The threat of Dhumm, was just a threat apparently. I guess the barrier was never broken. And all is safe now lol..... It kinda leaves a WTF? on that one. Thanks for the try tho. Hopes something else happens. 71.85.106.56 16:12, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

- Still disappointing. I think they just didn't finish the quests on time, hence the few days delay while they were finishing up quests 3 and 4, and couldn't get the followup into Halloween at all. Now they'll have to re-design the finale to fit into Wintersday instead, or god forbid, next Halloween. Oh well, I still enjoyed my 112 phantom tonics on top of stacks of other goodies. - It's maam. And Anet failed the quest chain, is still late, and is trying to make it up with an absurd quest reward. What do you think? Rose Of Kali 00:16, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- That you have a real talent for being sore and disappointed, ma'am. I am sure you know better than the Live team in every regard. | 72 {U|T|C} 00:34, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- It's not what I know, it's what I see. And I asked your opinion on the quests being rather late for Halloween, not on mysef. Rose Of Kali 00:43, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Then I am sure you see better than them, and therefore have better/more knowledge. Anyway, my opinion on it is what I see: they didn't "fail" a created, implemented, and enjoyed quest line; they are no later than is currently required by the unforeseen difficulties that came up, and are thus as diligent as you or I would be in the same circumstances; and you have no proof that this wasn't the original quest reward, that the quest won't be so difficult as to merit it, or that 100 ToTs is even very high for a holiday during which you can farm 1 every 30-45 seconds or so. The opinion on yourself is just a bonus. | 72 {U|T|C} 01:24, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Anet really likes leaving people guessing about their intentions lately. Lately being quite a while now. Surprises are supposed to be pleasant, yet many recent update discussions are full of raised eyebrows and WTFs. People expect one thing based on hints and promises, and get another. What Anet knows or sees doesn't matter at all when the players don't understand it and get a cat in a bag. The game is for the people who play it, not people who make it. Also, personally discussing users on a wiki is frowned upon. Rose Of Kali 01:50, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Also, these "unforseen difficulties" are becoming more and more common. I know that Live Team is under-staffed, but now they seem to spend more and more time fixing post-release bugs. Maybe it's time to turn down the quantity and speed and turn up the quality? Rose Of Kali 01:59, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- If they turned down the speed, they'd be releasing one thing per year. The quality is just going to be bad no matter how much time they spend on it, since they have nobody testing the content. -Auron 02:04, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, then get the Test Krewe stuff going before churning out new content like crazy and getting "mediocre" written all over themselves. Explaining what's going on (outside of obscure forum threads, preferably) also helps turn down the overwhelming WTFs. Rose Of Kali 02:12, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
