Ziv Devadas
Ziv was the ancient name of the second month of the Jewish calendar. Iyar [early name was Ziw or Ziv] Related to the Hebrew word "bright." The month name Ziv occurs in the Hebrew Scriptures only in connection with the construction of the Solomonic temple. Devadas is derived from the Sanskrit elements deva (a god) and dasa (servant, slave): hence, "servant of the gods." This is a southern Indian variant of Devdas, Meaning: Follower of God There is a professor P Devadas who is an amateur astronomer from India. A recipient of the Tamil Nadu State Award for popularising science, Mr. Devadas manufactures astronomical telescopes and has established an engineering firm in Chennai for the production of telescopes in India. The instruments are being supplied to research institutions, university departments, colleges, schools and amateurs.
