[edit] Walkthrough
Speak to the Captain who will brief you on the situation and send you to scout North of the wall to find the Charr army. Try to avoid walking over Tar, which has an iridescent purple appearance and causes a 30% movement reduction. Travel north-west, you will find a gate with a lever and a Devourer or Grawl boss nearby. Beyond the gate there is a large group of Gargoyles attacking Grawls. Wait until the fight is over before attacking or simply run past them as they don't tend to follow. Cross the bridge and take the path to your left, heading West. There are Charr campfires along the path.
After the cinematic, run back South to Captain Calhaan at the wall. Do not stop for anything as the Charr will catch you. If playing with heroes or henchmen, you may wish to flag them to cause a distraction and help ensure that one member reaches Captain Calhaan to complete the mission.
[edit] Bonus
Kilnn Testibrie who is standing in an area to the east of the gate asks you to recover his armor set: Crest, Cuisse, Greaves and Pauldron. Some parts can be found before you actually talk to him. Search the wreckage hidden behind a ruin (at point 1). Close to where the Gargoyles and Grawls are fighting (point 2). Another can be found a short walk north from this NPC (point 3). The last one is towards the first group of charr (point 4). Take the four items back to Kilnn. You must finish the bonus before the cinematic.
[edit] Skill recommendations
- The party size is only four, so it helps to bring minion master or spirit spammer.
- You can remove Lightning Reflexes from Whiptail Devourers, using a stance-removal skill, such as Wild Blow, Wild Strike or Wild Throw.
- A party wide speed boost (e.g. "Charge!", "Incoming!", or "Fall Back!") will help guarantee success for the final run.
[edit] Hard mode
The Charr will run faster, use speed boost to ease your escape. An alternative is to skip the cinematic to buy a head start.

- Complete exploration of this mission contributes approximately 0.9% to the Cartographer title.
- Players can uncover large areas of the map by heading towards the source of Charr instead of running from them. There are two sections, north and west.
- To reach the northern area run past the attacking Charr after the cinematic. The area behind them is easy to explore.
- To reach the western area follow the mission path after the cinematic until you see a group of Charr running towards you from the right. Follow that path. It'll lead you to uncover a large southwestern area of the map. A running skill is recommended for finishing this section on the first try.
- Players can uncover large areas of the map by heading towards the source of Charr instead of running from them. There are two sections, north and west.
- Unlike other quest items, Testibrie's items can be salvaged and sold.
- After completing this mission, your party will be teleported to Fort Ranik.
[edit] Trivia
- Most of this area can be recognised from The Northlands in the pre-Searing Ascalon.
