Mesmer fixes in PvE

Thanks for this. It's good to see that Anet is reading the forums and taking advice from players. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 16:47, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

I just hope they won't change every skill to another Cry of Pain. I'm fine as is atm with my Mes in HM. Vanquished buttloads with just Empathy and Backfire. BlazeRick 17:03, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
What if they simply make fast casting also work like a scaling MoR or MoC ...seeing as how PvE mobs (and some PvP Bots) now interrupt 1/4-second Spells *leering glare*. Or maybe they could just make a Fast-Cast attribute version of Stone-Striker and kill 2 birds with one stone (IE: deal with Energy management AND Survival issues in one blow). Other than those things, I fail to see what everyone's complaining about with Mesmers in PvE... IE: plz explain why they need MOAR offense capability?? That's all I hear around here "Oh they suck at AoE / offense" ...WUT? Some of you still think Your Mesmer isn't dealing enough damage?? Son I am dissapoint... --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 20:07, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
AoE Diversions all around! <font color="#0InfestedHydralisk 20:14, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
With the power creep, AoE/Offense is all that's worthwhile in PvE outside of elite areas, so that's probably not a bad idea. As long as they're careful to keep the changes out of PvP (to avoid more VoR-like mistakes) then I'm sure it'll be fine. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 20:16, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict x2) Exactly. I in fact even used a build with MoR, back when it was still 50% HSR. Really, we're fine imo. Though with all them builds posted on PvX with PvE-Skills for Necromancers and Elementalists, I could see that some people feel "left out". Really though, don;t make us Ursans please, ktnx. BlazeRick 20:17, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Rly... WTF guys? Wasn't there some discussion last year about there being TOO much focus on Offense? ...To the degree that it makes everything else including Strategy a moot point? There's already 100B's, Fire Eles, WotA Necs, Discord Heroes, SpiritSpammers, Scythe'aSins, JesusBeam, and stupid ass Sliver SF'ers who never really got nerfed. You really wanna add to that just B/c Mesmers aren't quite that Imba? I mean Rly, if you wanna talk about lacking power, try playing a Dervish or Offensive Paragon. If PvX and PuG chat is to be believed, you can't even Get on a HM team as either of those. Mesmer tho'? NO PROB. --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 21:46, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Two things please: 1. Be really careful, to my understanding mesmers aren't meant to be a damage dealing class, and 2. Split changes if things get hairy, mesmers don't need to get more VoR like in pvp. -- Tha Reckoning 21:49, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Chill out Ilr. You seeing stuff. BlazeRick 22:37, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Aw, come on! You should be focusing on their rehab! Getting them their fix will only extend their problem. The other day I saw a mesmer asking for '50 gold for the storage', again and again. Each time he hot some, went away and came back! He don't need more mesmer yunkies! They should get decent jobs killing stuff like everyone else! Ahem, now, seriously. They re a support class. But they don't support much. Yeah, they can make the enemy weaker, but that's just half of support. They have an attribute line called 'inspiration', and they theme is being showy actors. But they don't inspire much the team. Instead, inspiration deals with energy recover and self-defense. Energy recover should be moved to fast-casting, self-defense to illusion, and inspiration should be focused on some kind of party support less focused on cursing the enemy and more on buffing allies. With some allied effects unique to mesmers, like, for example... hm... making allies steal energy, or making ally attacks silence enemies for a couple of seconds or... I don't know right now. It's late here. I'll think of something tomorrow. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 02:00, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Why does everyone keep calling Mesmers support? Monks are support. Ritualists are support. Paragons are support. Apart from Expel Hexes, Mesmers are offense. BlazeRick 03:03, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
I never said they were support, and I never mentioned anything about offense. I said they aren't damage dealers. They're meant for shutdown, hence the interrupts/energy stealing. Punishment hexes take that too far by dealing lolridiculous damage. -- Tha Reckoning 03:06, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

BlazeRick, just reath the Mesmer article, that description is not player-made. That's the role mesmer were supposed to have, the descrtiption in the offical site, manuals, etc. Even if it's not their current role, that's the role they were supposed to have. Just think about the role of a sniper. Is a sniper offensive? Well, they kill enemies. Still, the role of a sniper is support. They do so by taking out strategic targets and instilling fear between enemy lines. Yup. Snipers kill, but they do so to break the enemy, to demoralize them and destroy their formation. That's why they are a support role. Something similar happens with mesmers. Mesmers won't heal the party, but if the mesmer powerblocks the enemy healer, isn't that support? Mesmers have now quite a few armor ignoring AoE tricks under their sleeves, that's why I say that they should focus changes in them towards a more direct support role, rather than just 'weaken the enemy', to make them more diverse and versatile. I'm a bit tired myself of using always just the same four of five builds with them. Even with dervishes I change my builds more often. But don't mind me. I've seen so much Monty Python that it's almost impossible to tell if I'm joking or not. Well, life itself is like that. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 21:41, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Then you and I just have a different understanding of the word "Support". BlazeRick 21:52, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

tbh mesmers have 5 of the greatest skills ever made for PvE in the history of the game. Echo and its counterpart, VoR, and ether/cry. Those skills alone make a mesmer worth creating in PvE. Abusing OP PvE only skills is how you pwn PvE. --Master BriarUser Briar Sig 2.jpg 21:56, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) If you want to do damage, there's an app for that. There's no reason that Mesmers need to do damage. Am not trying to. Just talking about Paragons. BlazeRick 05:06, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Tbh Raine, while paragons have the ability to pump out good theory-crafted damage, The damage you just mentioned while probably good in pvp, is absolutely terrible in PvE. No one would bring a damage paragon over a damage caster. No one that wasn't terrible that is. That paragon spot would be better spent with Focused anger, an IAS, and Save Yourselves. Everything else should be used to keep save yourselves up at at alllll times. And while yes, it is possible to bring an imbagon and a damage paragon, it will not happen. Ever. Why? Because pretty much anything that uses a wand, does it better. A LOT better. This is the reason most sins don't use daggers in PvE. Why? Because sins are godly tanks in PvE. They're piss poor damage dealers though because single target damage in PvE is how you show everyone in the world that your absolutely awful. =/ Oh, and while we're complaining about boomerang swords, i would like you to show me where any ranger in this game carries his quiver and how putting poison on a bow string helps the poison on an arrow? --Master BriarUser Briar Sig 2.jpg 05:18, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

This is the reason why HM is a failed concept. BlazeRick 05:58, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Do you know why the imbagon build is what it is? Because most players are too terrible to do anything other than no-holds-barred-spam a skill. Did you know that you can maintain SY! with Spear of Fury, any maintainable IAS (even Aggressive works), and an adrenaline buff of your choice (I use "To the Limit!")? And guess how many skill slots that leaves!
So no, you don't replace your caster damage with a para - you replace your shitty damage para with one that can throw spears respectably AND keep up SY! like nothing should be able to do.
I've BT,DT DoA shitterflames way, and we NEVER ran a Focused Anger paragon because it was sub-optimal.
So before you go off into your "theorycraft" speeches, take time to consider that you may not actually know what you're talking about. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 06:50, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Uhm, yeah i do. Okay? And, No. Just no. On so many levels, no. Your so far off key with that post its making my head reel. People use imbagon because of the three E's of PvE. Effectivness, Ease, and Exclusivity. A party wide pair of shouts that decreases almost all physical damage down to 0, and decreases all damage period by almost half. on your entire party. Effective. You throw a spear and spam skills on charge/recharge. Ease. Paragons are rare in PvE because again, Single target sucks. And people know that imbagons are amazing, so they create one thinking it will get them into groups. Exclusivity. THAT is why the imbagon is what it is. Not because only terrible players play pve. Its because it makes something that is ridiculously hard, ridiculously easy. I would really appreciate if you didn't bash on PvE players like that. Its fucked up. Just because I would rather be the ass raper against pve than get my ass raped by lame ass pvp gimmicks doesn't make me less of a player than you. Go fuck yourself. Okay? --Master BriarUser Briar Sig 2.jpg 07:04, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Mesmers have for the most part always been damage AND "mesmer" in PvE, but as power creep grew the mesmer part was neglected. You have condition builds but the better elite for it (Fevered Dreams) is horrid on a mesmer compared to on a necromancer. You're missing fast casting to get conditions up faster and blind, but weakness and...actually having energy to cast makes any advantages a mesmer has fairly worthless. The Necrosis nerfed destroyed LA and MoR builds, as it was the main "filler" or upkeep skill. As for paragons, they're good damage and SY spammers, but oh look...one is a damage based build and the other is support. There's people out there with double standards, as in some profession are allowed to do many things well, but mesmers are only allowed to fill one role or are only allowed to be good in PvP. I can understand that PvE based skills shouldn't spill or ruin PvP, but many players come off as a bit oppressive. Mesmers have recharge, energy, attribute spread, primary attribute, and skill usefulness issues. Cuilan 01:39, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
In pugging, people go for ease over effectiveness because they want to be assured that everyone can do their job well enough to succeed. In non-pugs, it's more likely for people to run harder, but more effective bars. Maintaining SY withouth FA is harder, so pugs don't want that on a paragon! It's the same reason people run Manlyspike over SRspike: Manly is easier to pull off - no timing required, just prep and EXPLOSIONS!
Actually, I can't be fucked to argue anything, let alone properly. You're totally right, kudos. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 02:26, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Also, they have some PvE skill nerfing to do. Like how Mindbender gives you fast casting but there isn't a skill that gives you critical strikes or soul reaping. Oh and Save Yourselves which in a way makes much mesmer stuff worthless. Cuilan 22:40, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Mindbender doesn't affect signets. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 15:52, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
But most signets are worthless in PvE b/c of their 20 or 30 second recharge and single target nature. ...Second the motion on "SY!", not only does it make anti-nuke mitigation from mesmers pointless, it makes all other Paragon builds moot too (and then they all get nerfed b/c everyone's runnin Imbas) --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 20:14, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Racism

To whom it may concern:

I recently discovered that one of the in-game characters has a name which is an anagram for a racist term. Thanks to the wonderful User:Underwood for pointing this out on the wiki; others have removed it deeming it not worthy of note. However, I find it worthy to note that this character, Goren also happens to be black and exhibits all the racist stereotypical aspects of a black person, and that is being big, brutish, unintelligent, and subordinate to whites. This is not the only time that your game has ignored concerns of the consumers. A prior incident involved the capture and torture of a corsair prisoner in the training grounds within the Nightfall campaign. I expect this situation to be rectified in a similar manner. Thank you for your time.--98.238.164.249 10:30, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

You're wasting your time. Those are not stereotypical of black people. Those are stereotypes of Security guards and "Hired muscle". They're not going to change the NPC's name because of some quasi offensive racial slur against black people. Btw, In case you hadn't heard, Africa is mostly populated by peoples of a darker colored skin. And seeing as nightfall is based off of Egyptian culture, yeah, he's black. So are 90% of the other heroes and NPCs from that campaign.
Btw 2/10. Terrible troll. The above message was posted solely to give ANet an out. --Master BriarUser Briar Sig 2.jpg 10:36, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Besides, as it was told in the Mission Goren, negro means black, the color, in Spanish and Portuguese, which has nothing to do with Africans. This was just a coincidence :P And Rho, calling the IP coward wasn't too nice. Actually, the English word 'negro' comes from the Spanish and Portuguese. And it has to do a lot with Africans, because that was the name Spanish and Portuguese used to refer to people from there, as in 'black people'. I don't know about Portuguese, but at least in Spanish using 'negro' to refer to someone with dark skin is still considered offensive for some people, but way to less and way for less people than in English. I think it's more the way you use it and the context than just using the word. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 18:25, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the White mantle wear red mantles. Even D'Alessio wore a red mantle. I think their name comes from the notion of a cloud or veil over someone's eyes. Like... like cataracts. They are there to veil the truth, after all. As for multi-culturalist. I've checked most of their models. Most of them have native american features (both south and north American natives) and some have Mediterranean features. First of all, the people in Africa are whites covering themselves in mud giving them the look of darker skin. Secondly, the stereotypes fit both and since the NPC also happens to be both, I see reason to bring this to Arenanet's attention. It is not just about the name being an anagram for a racial slur it also happens to be the name of a "darker skinned" NPC. Just because a part of the game is based off an existing country on the planet doesn't give anyone the right to slip in negative undertones about a group of idiot whites playing black face. Please confirm/deny this quote

I wanted to ask you, Regina, to validate the information in this article, and particularly the quote "Gwen and Lt. Thackeray are destined to marry and establish the human city of Ebonhawke." Here's a quote that's supposedly official, but does not cite any sources:

"This spring NCsoft and ArenaNet celebrate the fifth anniversary of Guild Wars with Guild Wars Beyond, an ongoing campaign that expands upon the Guild Wars storyline by focusing on key characters and events that are destined to make history leading up to Guild Wars 2. The first such event, the War in Kryta, sweeps players up in a savage struggle between the oppressive White Mantle zealots and the Shining Blade rebels for the fate of Kryta.

Guild Wars Beyond allows players to experience the War in Kryta from the very beginning to its fateful finale through an intriguing viral campaign, a website that enhances the storyline, and with gripping new in-game content. They’ll join the battle for Kryta by participating in exciting quests, taking part in decisive battles, and by purchasing the new White Mantle and Shining Blade costumes for their character. Guild Wars players will literally take part in history, as the War in Kryta has a profound effect on the world of Guild Wars 2.

Within the war, players help the Shining Blade rebels oppose the White Mantle, a militarized cult that rules Kryta, in the hopes of restoring the Krytan monarchy and installing Princess Salma as queen. The legacy of these deeds carries 250 years into the future, where Salma’s descendent Queen Jennah leads the embattled humans in Guild Wars 2.

In addition to Salma’s storyline, the War in Kryta also focuses on several key characters that are destined to make history – Gwen, a brooding, beautiful elementalist, and Lieutenant Keiran Thackeray, a charr-hunting ranger. Gwen and Lt. Thackeray are destined to marry and establish the human city of Ebonhawke, a key location in Guild Wars 2, and their descendent, Logan Thackeray, is one of the iconic characters in Guild Wars 2.

In the coming months, Guild Wars Beyond will continue to unveil important Guild Wars 2 information and content via the current Guild Wars live game. For more information on Guild Wars and the War in Kryta, please visit www.guildwars.com."

Many wiki articles are now being updated based on this quote, which also appears on many other sites. But several users here on the wiki have their doubts about the source of this, nobody seems to know exactly where/whom it came from and it does not fully match Linsey's interview that's linked from guildwars.com, which states only that "Logan Thackeray is a major character in Guild Wars 2, but his exact connection to Keiran Thackeray is something that will be revealed in time." Can you please confirm or deny the accuracy/source of that first article's info? Thanks. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 22:35, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Gwen is an elementalist? User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 22:38, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, that was the first thing that tipped me off, though other places are quoting this with "mesmer" instead. I don't think this is legit, and at least a few other users agree with me, but the information spread like a virus, and the wiki is being hastily updated with this all over the place, so rather than starting revert wars on each and every article with this info, I'd rather have a solid answer to fall back on, as many people were quite eager to believe this. Quoting myself on Talk:Ebonhawke, "See here. NCSoft placed the press release on their website, unfortunately it can no longer be viewed (if it ever could be), but the opening paragraph is still on their front page, for now. See for yourself." --Santax (talk · contribs) 22:45, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Ok, but that discussion still debates the last paragraph, the one that talks about my "particularly curious" quote about Gwen and Keiran. And then there's the part where someone at ANet is supposedly noob enough to call Gwen an elementalist. So, the main question still stands: validate/confirm the quote about Gwen and Keiran marrying and establishing Ebonhawke. Last I checked, Gwen blew him off pretty hard, and Keiran seemed quite disillusioned. I think I'll be disappointed if they get back together, or at least sorry for Keiran, Gwen is destroying his romantic heart. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 23:36, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
I believe that's an NCSoft press release, and thus more of an NCSoft faux pas than ArenaNet's. --Riddle 23:49, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

There is still backstory to fill in - at some point humans are driven back to the Blazeridge Mountains at the edge of Ascalon and the Crystal Desert. I imagine losing EotN and her beloved Ascalon will be the failure Gwen needs to let go and let Kieran in - just a theory, though. As for the elementalist thing, it looks like an error, though it could be an accidental hint about class merges for GW2. I know people love their mesmer as much as some people love Apple products, but they're niche ANet did promise to reduce and streamline skills. --Falseprophet 19:34, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
"...though it could be an accidental hint about class merges for GW2." How do you figure that, exactly? Reducing and streamlining skills doesn't really make sense when applied to "Mesmer skills are now bundled into Elementalist skills". Gwen isn't around for GW2 anyway, and GWB still has the GW1 profession system (and every other GW1 system, for that matter). --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 19:53, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

We've got a lot of cool things coming up that have to do with the Guild Wars Beyond content, of which the War in Kryta is a part. As for the interactions between Gwen and Kerian, the only thing I can really say is: stay tuned, and you'll see. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 23:11, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
One thing I'd like to know, though, Regina, is why you guys felt the need to close this particular thread (referring to G/T) out of all the story threads in GW. Why it couldn't have been left open. She can have a descendant in GW2 without us having to be told the full history of how that descendant got there, after all, or who aside from her he came from. Did you think of that? Did you consider leaving us any room at all for our own interpretations? --Nathe 04:30, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Plenty of room on GWGuru I reckon. BlazeRick 16:22, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Costumes NPC in GH

From a topic above, it sounds solid that there won't be one in Pre, and that's fine. But having one in the GH would be nice. Why, you ask? Because it would be 1. convenient for everyone to get hats and costumes in the GH without having to travel to a busy holiday lag-fest port city and then backtrack to whatever town you came from, 2. convenient for all Prophecies characters who can access the GH as soon as they leave Pre, instead of having to get all the way to LA (in contrast to Factions and Nightfall chars, who can get costumes in under 10 minutes of creation), 3. why not? It's another gold sink. And if you don't want to make it a gold sink for whatever reason, make it one purchase in combo with the hats guy. Thanks. User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 00:40, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't even use costumes and I think this would be a good idea. --220.235.235.89 00:42, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
When I heard they added the costume makers, the first thing I did was checking the Guild Lord for the new NPC, I was disappointed when I found none... MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 16:04, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

No Mantle

It is said that the War in Kryta update will come soon. There are lots of information, but one in particular bongles me and simple logic: We can't side with the White Mantle.

The problem with it is that the Mantle isn't an oppressive tyrant, it's simply an effective warlord. They DID sacrifice people annually but only to prevent the Titans from breaking loose, which means all the time we fought them, they simply wanted to defend Tyria and humanity, and a few people dead is still better than having the whole world destroyed.

Another fact about the mantle is that they are the only force in tyria capable of fielding an army which can not only protect their nation with undead rising from every damn cemetery (imagine how fast the Lionguard would have been cut down), but after the all-out war (in which we were supposedly needed to tip the balance towards victory) they were capable of invading the Maguuma Jungle, capturing Henge of Denravi, and then after many grievous losses we inflicted to them (killing Demagogue and many many officers plus their guards) they were still capable of invading the Southern Shiverpeaks.

Speaking of our side are supposed to dismantle humanity's best weapon, our best hope of survival, AND to aid the puny lionguard who break as soon as they see their foes, to aid the queen who was hiding when Ascalon was burned to the ground, and undead roamed Kryta.

Just: Why are we supposed to do that?

--Boro 10px‎ 08:01, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Don't do it when it's released? :P But seriously if the Mantle wins then they'd have to change the humans storyline for GW2. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 08:21, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Boro actually makes a good case ...better the tyrant you know than the one you don't. (even if their "peacekeepers" started messing up all my material farming by killing my farm mobs first and generally giving me extra -DP everytime I get near them ...god I hate that crap!, would have to reroll just to get "clean" explorables agian). --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 10:14, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
oh no not your farmable areas what are you ever going to do... ON-TOPIC: i agree i support my unseen overlords.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 10:25, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
The appearance of the peacekeepers can be explained with the mantle "splitting up" to the bureaucratic faction (that needs to be dismantled), and the traditional church-millitant faction which we can support. This way the mantle will loose some power, the blade will win, and everyone can kill the peacekeepers knowing that they are not more than bandits. --Boro 10px‎ 13:48, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
You can't side with the mantle because they are evil. Period. Remember Black & White, Bioshock, Baldur's Gate, Fable or many others? They let you take bad choices. That's a good idea, it adds freedom and 'realism'. But they let you get away with it. And that's a bad idea, VERY bad idea. Choosing the evil path should ALWAYS be a dead end. A trap, a path to the worst possible ending, if any ending at all. Like being a maniac with a chainsaw and a shotgun in a mall. You do bad stuff until you are shot down by the 'good guys'. Why? Because being bad is bad! That's why! It's pretty obvious! You don't praise your kids for bullying the neighbor's kid or eating their dog! They are not humanity's best weapon. They are just a bunch of bullies, and this is their dead end. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 14:28, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

The world isn't morally consistent, beyond what we've legislated to be so. Therefore, I fail to understand why games should reinforce this illusion. 141.165.170.90 17:11, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Most of the Mantle were almost certainly ignorant of the real nature of the Mursaat and the fate of the Chosen. As Saul's Story told us, only the top Mantle ever even saw the Mursaat (and the ensuing massacre) before the events of Prophecies. Most Mantle soldiers are probably still just dupes, who we'd probably quite like if we met them socially. Decent fellows. It seems a shame to kill them. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 21:02, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Boro, I doubt it's a factor of whether or not the Mantle are evil. More that you say...killed their leader, crippled their army, stole a holy artefact, prevented their sacrifice, allowed the Door of Komalie to open, killed scores of Mursaat. Why would the Mantle allow you to join again? --Orry 00:17, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
B/c their top enforcers right now are a bunch of crooked gypsie hags very clearly suffering from <griffin>GIN-GI-VIT-US</griffin>? ...next to them, the guys who put undead Rurik out of his misery and sent the Lich back to Abbadon are frikkin model citizens. --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 01:23, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Probably we would have a chance to redeem us as we have killed abaddon, the reason why the sacrifices were made. Also we have sealed the door of komalie forever with the lich lord's soul (if the ending cinematic makes sense) --Boro 10px‎ 05:43, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
If you just do what you are told and never asks questions, you are as good or bad as the ones giving the orders. A puppet. Once the puppeteer is gone, the puppets go berserk. Kill the leaders, and you get peacekeepers. The mursaat are like the V. They just took advantage of the situation, and turned a bunch of grunts into an army of 'saviors'. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 13:35, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Given that the Guild Wars games do not have multiple endings, it seems not in keeping with that aspect for you to be able to side with the White Mantle. Remember, in Prophecies you all found out that the White Mantle were the baddies. You already sided with the Shining Blade. It wouldn't make sense within the continuity for you to join the White Mantle, given the fact that you're already affiliated with the Shining Blade. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 01:20, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
