Notes[edit]
- This is one of the few places in Kourna where you may obtain Lightbringer bounties.
- A Preserved Red Iris Flower can be found in a chest in the southern Corsair area.
- There are four bosses close to each other in the southern Corsair area; use caution when approaching them, especially in hard mode.
- In hard mode, the Corsair Grapplers in this area can instantly wipe an entire party as they deal extremely high area of effect physical damage.
- These quests affect the spawns in this area:
- Complete exploration of this area contributes approximately 2.6% to the Elonian Cartographer title track.
- Vanquisher runs of this area without active quests require defeating around 177 foes. Including quest influences, it has been reported to range from 153 to 201 foes.
- You can avoid killing 3-5 of the hidden Mandragor groups by first clearing the western area, crossing the river using the southern route, and defeating a pride of low-level lions nearby.
- The lions in this region are all located in the east, across the bridge. They're all in one pack, and they all start out as hostile; they are however still charmable.
Trivia[edit]
- The map provided with the Collector's Edition of Guild Wars Nightfall names this area as the "Barbarous Coast". The Barbary Coast, or Barbary, was the term used by Europeans from the 16th until the 19th century to refer to the middle and western coastal regions of North Africa. The barbary pirates of north Africa are sometimes called "Turkish corsairs" or "Ottoman corsairs".
- There is an exit portal behind a permanently-closed gate in the north-east of the map that cannot be accessed and does not lead to another zone, but could sometimes be seen by players from a far enough distance that the gate model had not loaded.
