Guild Hall Upgrades

Is there a benifite to having traders in your guild hall instead of using the traders in the towns?--98.203.222.93 21:41, 31 October 2008 (UTC)--98.203.222.93 21:41, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Other than convenience, no.- TheRave talk (talk) 21:47, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
PvP characters have access to the Guild Hall NPCs too, whereas otherwise they can only use services in the Great Temple of Balthazar. Not that it's much more use since PvP characters don't need most of the stuff on offer in the GH. ^^ And obviously they provide earlier access to services to low level characters who may not have found the regular NPCs yet. Changing computers

I've had guild wars for a while now and I'm playing on a dial up. I'd like to transfer my game to my laptop so I can go somewhere and play using a free highspeed wireless access. Is it possible to play the same account on 2 computers or will moving it to my laptop lock me out of my desktop.--64.108.150.101 10:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

You can play on as many computers as you like. But you can't use the same account on two (or more) computers simultaneously, only one at a time. To change computers its as easy as just logging in with your details (once Guild Wars is installed).- TheRave talk (talk) 10:13, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
I myself have GW installed on several different computers and use all of them at one time or another. There's no limit on the number of computer you can install it on, but as Rave said, you can only play on 1 at a time. --User Master Fast sig-icon.pngShinigami King 15:59, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Secondary assassin

Just wondering how do I get my Dervish to have assassin as his secondary; or do I need to wait until I get to the profession changer? Have I missed something or just not read something? I feel a bit silly asking, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

(I also hope that this question is in the right place) --82.22.199.67 20:29, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Become Ascended, Weh no Su, or complete Hunted!, then go to a profession Changer, either in Senji's Corner or Great Temple of Balthazar. And yes, this is the right place :) calor (talk) 20:31, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Wow! Mega quick reply! Thanks Calor! Oohhh... Time to pick a secondary prof.--82.22.199.67 20:35, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
There's also a profession changer in the Command Post, but you need to do the quest Building the Base: Prisoners of War before he'll show up there. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 20:38, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

The Fire Imp NPC

i have GW: Game of the Year edition ....... I read that it is supposed to come with a Fire Imp NPC, but all i get is the weapons included with the edition. i realize that i have an older version that did not come WITH the Fire Imp, but i have gone onto the GW's online store to purchase the upgrade for the fire imp, but it says i have already purchased it. when i log onto the game after this, it still gives me the weapons but NO Fire Imp. You mean the Igneous Summoning Stone? Please check the Acquisition section there again, if your version does meet the requirements. If it does, but you don't have the Stone, consider contacting support. poke | talk 00:28, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Please note that many stores still have the old boxes. You need to check IF the fire imp is on the back of the box. Otherwise you'll have to get it with the ingame store. Dominator Matrix 00:35, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Also, you need to be UNDER lv 20 to be able to acquire/use it. --Dragon nataku 03:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
No, you can acquire it at lvl 20 with the /bonus command, you just can't use it.User Ereanor sig.jpgreanor 05:31, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
If it's saying you already purchased it, then you should get it... double-check on a lower-level character maybe to see if it works (/bonus), and make sure you have plenty of inventory space when you do so.
If it still tells you you should have it, but doesn't give it to you, then yeah, contact Support about it. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:01, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Igneous Summoning Stone is available for players that have purchased

This is not the same as

Victory Tokens are not used for Wintersday but rather Dragon Festival. You will need to keep them in inventory until then. As for the Zaishen Chest/Drop rate, check that page. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 13:43, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
If you're running out of storage space you can always create a mule. The drop rate page doesn't describe everlasting tonics, but it is assumed to be at least 100 times less than a normal tonic drop chance (if not more). So less than 0.002 out of 100.- TheRave talk (talk) 13:53, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Unreceived Birthday Present.

I received a birthday present of 12 months on one charatcer but didnt not receive my birthday preset on a different character thats 12 months old. Is there a reaon or did I get hacked or something? Please help! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Barmar grave (talk).

Does the second character have free inventory space? The present can't show up if there's no room.
Are you positive the character is twelve months old? You checked by typing /age in the chatbox? If the character was deleted at any point, and then re-created, it "restarts" the age.
If you did get hacked, I would imagine the hacker would take more then just a birthday present. You can change your password just to be safe, but I don't think you were hacked. Just wait a bit and check the character again later, to see if the present shows up. And make sure you both have inventory space, and that the character is at least twelve months old according to the /age command. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 07:33, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
This happened once on one of my chars (I think it might've been my warrior, but that's neither here nor there). The /age command said she was 24 months old (she's now 37 months old so this was awhile ago), but she didn't get the birthday present for another 3-5 days. *shrugs* So... just wait a couple of days? That's normal for any character, no matter what campaign you're from.
Sunspear Modeki should have the quest for you no matter how quickly you finished the mission; check your Quest Log (L), and see if "Hunted!" is in your primary quests. If Modeki doesn't have any quests for you, you may have somehow already gotten the quest from him. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 18:46, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

No, if you have 2 swords and a spear, you have completed the mission. Have you made sure you don't have Hunted! as your primary quest? --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 05:10, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
You never need the bonus, expert's reward or master's reward to meet the pre-requisites for a quest. Is Sunspear Sanctuary on your map? If so, you've already completed Hunted! -- Gordon Ecker 06:13, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Mapping Cantha

I'm trying to map the whole of Cantha for Cartographer title(up to 98.3%) and theres a bit on the shing Jea Island (South East of the Monestery that I can't get to. Do I need to map that bit or can I achieve 100% without it?

--Markw 12:59, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

If you mean directly south east you'll be referring to the area we know as Monastery Overlook. This area can be accessed when the Shing Jea Boardwalk is next opened, making for some easy mapping. The downside is that it could be some time before the next boardwalk event happens. -- WarBlade 13:08, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't believe the Boardwalk will be open again until February for Canthan New Year, unless they surprise us :D --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 15:16, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
You can still achieve 100% without it. But you need everything else, commonly missed areas like JQ, FA, Shing Jea Arena, etc. --mira castillo 18:13, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Competetive Missions as well. There should be some helpful hints in the Cartography title page, or the talk page. 75.146.48.190 18:20, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
It's actually possible to map almost 107% of the Canthan map. There is also the glitched area around Eredon Terrace. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 03:56, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

The Afflicted Soon Kim

hiya, i'm looking for The Afflicted Soon Kim boss in Vizuna Square mission to cap Shadow Form on my sin and got to the end and i havent seen it, im wondering whether ive missed it or it just didn't come.. firstly, does this boss come to the mission every time or only sometimes. Also where abouts in the mission does this boss spawn? it doesnt show anywhere on the wiki that i can find so.. :/ --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:80.194.30.129 (talk).

He should spawn every time. However, he tends to die rather quick, especially with the large party size; don't quote me on this, but I believe he spawns at the start of the mission, in the area where the two teams first meet up. If you kill a large mob and don't know if he was in there, try looking for corpses and using Signet of Capture, just to see if he died quickly while you weren't looking.
Do note on the Shadow Form page that there's a few other places to capture the skill as well; Dragon's Throat is also fairly early-on, or if you can wait a bit, it's much easier to find Soon Kim in the Sunjiang District explorable area. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 18:43, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

kk thx, i'll just try the mission again and try keep my eyes open abit more. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:80.194.30.129 (talk).

To the contrary, I believe the bosses for Vizunah Square are randomized. Any boss of any profession has the chance to show up, but sometimes they don't. I believe...four bosses show. Theres a good chance he'll appear, but he won't every time. --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 22:01, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
You can also cap it off of The Afflicted Huu in Dragon's Throat, who always spawns.

Wandering is correct. When my main was going for Canthan Elite Skill Hunter, I was using a different page for elite skill locations (I hadn't found this Wiki yet), and the only locations that page had listed for the elites that show up in the Vizunah mish WAS the mish itself, so I ended up doing that mission about 23 times to get all of those skills. So I know from (oodles of) experience that they are, in fact, random in that mission. Which is a bit aggravating... One tip though: in that part of the mission where many afflicted spawn (the second huge battle area I think, where there's one spawn point in the front, and two in the back up some stairs), you should go up those stairs after everything is dead and make sure the boss didn't die up there without you noticing. gl! --Dragon nataku 03:45, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Farming

I've got a few questions about drop rates for Rare Materials as I am trying to make Asuran armor for my necro, and Monstrous Fangs and Claws are extremely expensive at the Trader:

Are the drop rates for Rare Materials greater for Hard Mode?

Is there any differnce whether or not you are in a Mission or just in an explorable area?

Does the level of the monster effect the rate?

Is there a difference in the rate if I have Heros, Henchman or other Humans in my party?

My theory is to farm the Vizunah Square mission which has hordes of Afflicted (which drop monstrous fangs and claws). If this is or isnt a good idea, or you have other suggestions as to where i should farm, i'd like to hear it!

Thanks! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:208.186.200.6 (talk).

The drop rates for materials really is not much different between normal and hard mode. Any where that you find afflicted you have a chance to get fangs and claws dropped, whether it's in a mission or explorable, but yeah, the highest concentration of them is in Viz mission. Drops are scaled to party size, so having heroes and henchies with you mean less will drop for you because some will be dropping for them. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 03:51, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll answer the ones I actually know the answer to, so if I don't answer something it's cause I'm leaving it to someone who knows more than I do. :op Anyway. I'm pretty sure there is absolutely no difference between being in a mission or explorable area, although your choice of Vizunah mish is good because, as you said, there are MAAAAAANY many afflicted in that one. That being said, level does not affect it from what I've seen. I have gotten fangs/claws from the lv 14 afflicted in Haiju Lagoon. Also, [| this page] may give you more options as to what drop such things.
Now, as to how heroes/hench/other people affect the drop rate... real players will have things drop for them instead of you, as you probably already know. Heroes and hench are counted by the game as "another person," even if they are AI. As such, things will "drop" for them (just not physically) just like with real people, so they also reduce your chances of getting anything yourself. Now, if your question was "how does having heroes and/or hench VERSUS real players affect the drop rate," I don't know. The common mindset amoung raptor farmers (yes, this is somewhat relevant) is that bringing real people along causes better things to drop, but whether this is just superstition or actual fact, I don't know. Good luck!
EDIT: Wyn beat me to it. Curse youuuu!!! /fistshake :op --Dragon nataku 03:57, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

NPC Selling Festival hats

What would u guys think about a NPC that sells past festival hats?? Or even letting the current festival hat maker sell Mask/Hats that you might have missed from the past 3 years?? Either way it could be a one time thing each year or 3 times a year for New Years, Halloween and X-mas selling the mask that represent that event. But the excpetion would be buying them with gold. I'm pretty sure there is collector's out there like i am that do not posses all the hat's/mask from the past 3 years. It's really suggestion rather then a question xD? Really is up to you peeps! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.238.196.203 (talk).

No, the whole purpose of the festival hats is to commemorate your participation in the event. If you weren't there, you have nothing to commemorate. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 06:13, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
ArenaNet have also confirmed this. Gaile Gray confirmed festival hats are "you had to be there" items when she was still Community Relations Manager. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 09:50, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Besides, Festival Hats are just decorative items - they do not interfere gameplay in any way. So missing them will not make your character less fit to fight into a PvP event or to beat last mission boss in PvE.
Don't take me wrong. I would love to be able to get hats from those events I could not take part into (namely, those that happened before I started playing Guild Wars and the ones that took part while I still had not purchased every campaign). But I do understand that people who did go to those events (and, in some cases, even helped the NPC to fulfill some tasks) would not be too happy to see every single newbie wearing those cool unique hats everywhere (maybe even those spam bots that used to flood Lion's Arch and the Great Temple of Balthazar).
What if hats were like tonics that would repeat themselves over the years? Yeah, that would be awesome, but I honestly don't think this would ever happen - at least not in the next few years. :P --NIN37 11:16, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Would be nice if they could make a compromise, though... as I had to miss a few of the hats (specifically, the first Pumpkin Crown, the Dragon Mask, and the Tengu Mask) due to hurricanes rampaging their way through Miami and making us lose power for weeks at a time. Kinda annoying that I did have the games at the time but couldn't get the hats due to the wrath of Mother Nature. But eh. As NIN said, it doesn't actually affect anything, but again, would be nice if they made it so that people who actually had the game at the time and had to miss the festivals for various reasons could get them somehow. But hey, I'm not gonna explode IRL just cause I don't have a hat. :op (edited cause I somehow got logged out of Wiki ^O__o^;; ) --Dragon nataku 22:32, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Thx for all your opinion's on this matter!! if they ever do i would be satisfied with some kind of duration mask!! All i needed was the tengu and were wolf mask :/.... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.238.196.203 (talk).

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say, but that reminds me of an issue one of my friends had a while back. He fixed it by reinstalling guild wars - find the file "gw.dat", delete it, and then run guild wars again. It could also be an issue with your graphics card, that it can't handle the graphics in certain areas. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 01:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
What kind of problem are you facing? If you get an igfx display driver error when you visit some places in the Eye of the North expansion, you might want to consider upgrading your video card driver (or even replacing your video card with a newer/faster one).
The way you describe your problem (can't play the game when you enter certain area unless you change your computer and move your character out of there), looks like your computer needs some upgrades. Does it meets System Requirements? --NIN37 05:31, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Skills Training

Every time I go to one skills trainer, I get deferred to another. For example, when I go to Necromancer Munne for training like I am told, there is no option for training, only a "Where can I learn more skills?" option. I click on it, and she tells me to go to Necromancer Kasha. So I go to Necromancer Kasha, and I get the same thing, only she directs me back to Necromancer Munne, who, only moments before, had just told me to see Kasha. The same thing happens when I try to get more training in my other profession, Mesmer.

Is this a game glitch, or do I need to level up more in order to be able to learn more skills (currently at level 7) from these trainers? If neither is the case, who else should I go to to learn these skills?

Please write back as soon as you can so we can get this issue resolved.

Thank you for your time. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Greywolf69 (talk).

The second trainer does lead you the wrong way, if you ask that trainer about more skills in their profession. Look up the pre-searing skills that biscuits linked to get all your skills. All professions have two trainers, except rangers have 3. StatMan 19:08, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Necros also have three trainers. The third is Oberan the Reviled, and he teaches Curses spells. You also have to talk to him for the Charr in the Catacombs quest, so he's not exactly hidden. --Dragon nataku 22:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

i want to buy gwen but there's one question i want to ask you.. when i buy game online with a credit cart.. are they going to send that game on my home address or just give me cd key so i can upgrate my account.. i more like 2nd solution.. thanks

If you buy in from the in-game store, it will be added directly to your account. If you buy it from the PlayNC store, they will give you the access key instantly and ask you which account you want to add it to. If you buy it anywhere else, they will snail mail you a retail box with the access key inside it. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 13:28, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Will I get the reward for the bonus if I didn't do it the first time? Edmond The Ranger 20:11, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes. --mira castillo 20:13, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. Edmond The Ranger 20:15, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
You can redo missions as many times you want to (for example, you could help a friend who just started playing Guild Wars).
However, like Mira said, you'll only get reward once.
For Prophecies, you get one reward for "primary" Mission and one reward for "secondary" Mission (aka, "Bonus"). Most of the time you'll be able to do either the primary or the secondary mission without having to complete the other one (so, if you just missed Bonus, you can do that later and don't have to beat the whole mission again). --NIN37 21:11, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
What I meant was like in some missions there are Bonus Objectives. Will I get points for those if I didn't the first time? Edmond The Ranger 21:20, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Every Mission (in Prophecies) has both a primary objective ("Mission") and a bonus objective ("Bonus"). You don't have to complete both of them at your first attempt. You can safely do just the main Mission (to advance in storyline) and leave Bonus for a later time. So, answering your question, yes, you can go back later and complete the Bonus you've missed. --NIN37 22:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

charater slot

Like how many can you purchase? Edmond The Ranger 20:43, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

According to character slot, you can buy (from in-game store) up 26 additional slots. --mira castillo 20:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
You get 4 character slots for first campaign you purchase. You get 2 additional ones for extra campaigns (so, 4 + 2 + 2 = 8).
Then you can purchase up to 26 extra character slots in the in-game store (so 8 + 26 = 34, if Math isn't tricking me).
But if you're going to buy that many character slots, getting a second account (so you get characters AND Xunlai Storage) could be a better idea. --NIN37 20:49, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Not necessarily NIN, having a second account for storage can be cumbersome as it requires the cooperation of a second person to transfer items unless you are lucky enough to have 2 systems at your disposal. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 21:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Or you could edit your registry if you know what you're doing, or use certain 3rd party programs that allow you to run two accounts at once. Please note that neither of these methods are completely advocated by Anet. I believe Gaile called it the "If it destroys your hard drive and blows up your refridgerator, don't call us" policy. Doesn't mean it'll get you banned, just that if something happens to your game from doing this, official support will NOT help you. --Dragon nataku 23:11, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Wait until Halloween decoration is removed. Probably any missing NPC will come back when event ends. --NIN37 14:15, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
I contacted Support about this a long time ago because it started when Lion's was decorated for Halloween (around Oct. 23, so it's been quite awhile!). They said, word-for-word: "Lion's Arch should now be reverted back to normal as the Halloween Event is officially over in all time zones. Please let us know if you have any further questions." This was on Nov. 3. Nice to know that they have absolutely no clue what they're talking about! Just further proves to me that it would probably be more productive for someone to bash their head against a wall repeatedly than to contact them...
Anyway, my suggestion would be (since you did say you have all campaigns) to travel to Nightfall first, and then do the quest from there that takes you to Factions. Lionguard Figo is still around, so that solution SHOULD work... (by the way, Magi Malaquire is also missing. Not sure about anyone else though) Good luck! --Dragon nataku 17:26, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
The problem is (as stated) that Jiaju Tai is missing in the Halloween version of the NPCs in Lion's Arch. Dragon nataku, when you contacted them, the event was over; they later announced that due to inadvertently ending it one day earlier than had been announced they would bring the Halloween event back again for the additional weekend. When the second Halloween event is over, I'm sure she'll be back. -- Lord Ehzed 17:42, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
My point was not that the event was not over. My point is that Jiaju Tai and Magi Malaquire are still missing, even though Anet seems to be aware that they are missing. And that seems silly to me, since both of those NPC's are rather important. --Dragon nataku 21:56, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Not a fix, but a temporary workaround, for a player who has all 3 campaigns, would be to travel to Elona (Nightfall) first and take the quest to Cantha (Factions) from there.
Sure. Prophecies->Nightfall is way harder than Factions->Nightfall due to smaller party size (6 against 8), lower level henchmen (level 10 against level 20; note, though that there are 4 level 12 Mad King's Guards henchmen during Halloween) and probably lack of Heroes (other than, say, M.O.X. and perhaps some Eye of the North heroes).
But since you don't really have to kill the mobs (you just need to close the rifts - and keep them closed), quest is still doable with full henchmen party (did this myself a few times, to help some guild-mates travel to Elona, before I got my own copy of Nightfall).
Also, if you check Linsey's talk page, you'll find out that she had fixed this glitch, but it probably reappeared once Halloween came back in last weekend event. Being a bit more patient (to wait until cities are undecorated) should solve this missing NPC issue. --NIN37 01:06, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Secondary Weapon

moved from Help:Ask an account question

Hey I have a question (of course). I have my Ritualist lv 18. Right now I have his secondary on warrior for the shouts and that stuff. I know it is possible to change your secondary for a toll. If I picked the Assassin as secondary, could I use daggers if i became high in Dagger Mastery? My ingame name is Verak the Warlord 96.225.202.13 15:03, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

your attributes, skills and professions are completely flexible, i.e. in town you can change whatever you want as much as you like. that also includes switching to other weapon attributes and therefore using different weapons. by the way, i suggest you don't use daggers as Rt/A, except with Spirit's Strength. Rt/A is still a very good combination, though. Dash and Return can be pretty helpful. in pve, i'd go /Mo or /N, though. - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.png 15:07, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Of course you have to achieve the equivalent of Ascension to change your secondary. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 15:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey its me again. Why would monk be a good choice? I mean Rits all ready have some pretty good healing spells, i was thinking to be Assassin because all the weapon enchantments. Or a Necro to be a minion bomber... Ill accept ideas :D 96.225.202.13 02:25, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Moved your question to your previous topic. Please don't post your questions in someone else's irrelevant topic. You could also have created a new question... anyway. Did you mean monk as a secondary or primary? Monk is generally a good choice because it's easier to get into parties when you are one, but it's really not for everyone. If you find a combination that works for you, that's really all that matters. --Dragon nataku 03:43, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
I believe he meant Monk secondary. Ritualists are pretty great healers, but they can't remove hexes; going Rt/Mo gives you access to Remove Hex. (some high-end PvP teams also use Rt/Me with Expel Hexes, last I checked.)
And yep, you're right on the money with the minion-bomber Rt/N idea... those are pretty fun in PvE. :D
As a Rt/A, sure you've got weapon spells to use on your daggers, but you've also got lower armor (you'll die pretty quick) and no Critical Strikes attribute (which will hurt your energy and damage a bit). You're better off going A/Rt in that case, if all you want are a few weapon spells. But like Wyn mentioned, Dash, Return, and even Dark Escape can be good as a Rt/A healer... always nice to have an escape plan. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:19, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

What profession?

Hey, I've been back and forth with professions and I cant decide. I like Ritualists because of the weapon enchantments and spirits. But I like the Assassin Class as well. Would it be a good combo, because if i was a Rit/A, i would suffer because of the 60 armor rating, but i would have some good healing and weapon enchants. But If i was a Assassin, i really don't know what class, because Rit and A dont go good together. Mayber a Rit/War for weapons like swords, axes, and hammers, while still having spirits? I really dont know, i would prefer to have Rit be my primary --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:96.225.202.13 (talk).

Ritualist really isn't a very good profession for melee, at all. If you want access to a Warrior's weapons, you're really much better off with an actual Warrior.
That said, I'd take a good look at the Ritualist's Channeling Magic attribute, it does a lot of damage actually. Ritualists are great as support or healers as well. One of the benefits of a Ritualist is that there's a good number of options, without ever needing to use any secondary profession skills (I rarely need more then one skill from my secondary profession, even in higher-end PvP).
Assassins are really fun to use as well; shadowsteps and dagger attacks make for some fun spikes, and if you've got access to Nightfall, it's quite fun to run a Scythe 'Sin (taking advantage of the Critical Strikes attribute to do tons of damage with a Scythe). There's also Perma Shadow Form, which is good for tanking in elite areas, and opens up a bunch of farming options. However, a "normal" Assassin build sometimes doesn't work as well as other classes in PvE, since spiking has very limited use in there.
Really, I think you'll be happy either way. My suggestion would be to make one of each, then it's just a matter of choosing which one to use first. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 03:08, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't recommend it either, but you can change secondary professions in Factions after you've completed the fourth mission, so if your initial secondary choice doesn't work out, you'll be able to change it fairly soon. You could check the "Choice of Secondary Professions" sections of guide to playing as an assassin and guide to playing as a ritualist. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:58, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Well that being said, could it be possible to just be a Rit or do you have to pick a Secondary? what would be the positives in This choice, i was thinking more skill points to share but that's all i could think of --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:96.225.202.13 (talk).

Yes, you have to pick a secondary to be able to continue the storyline (at least in Prophecies and Factions. Nightfall is unique in that you can travel to other campaigns or GW:EN before picking a secondary and then wander around as a lv 20 PvE char with no secondary). That being said, just cause you choose a secondary, does not mean you HAVE to use your secondary at all if you do not wish to. I know most of the time my elementalists, ritualists, and assassins don't use their secondary professions, even though they have one (and most of them have all of the secondaries unlocked). --Dragon nataku 04:18, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Missing Attribute Points

Not a bug, the last 30 attribute points are gained by completing two quests. To expand on Gordon's explanation: the first quest (Lost Treasure) is given after you complete the Minister Cho's Estate mission; the second (An Unwelcome Guest) is given by the Kirin in Seitung Harbor after you complete the Zen Daijun mission - use the bell shrine to summon the kirin if you don't see him standing.
