The Jade Mandibles of Scarabs in the Crystal Desert are capable of biting through solid rock. Because of their qualities, they are turned into mining tools.

Farming[edit]

Start from Amnoon Oasis and enter Prophet's Path. Cover the entire area up until the first teleporter, make sure to let your aggro bubble scrape around the edges and corners as most of the spawns are pop-ups. Around 32 Scarabs can be found, along with Rockshot Devourers who place Dust Traps and Flame Traps, so bring condition removal if needed. Don't use conditions for the farm as Jade Scarab use Plague Touch so it will only hurt yourself. Map back to Amnoon Oasis when you reach the teleporter. See the map to the right.
Diviner's Ascent
Speak to Nausuan in Seeker's Passage to start The Monk's Path (available to any non-Monk after completing Augury Rock; remember to change the secondary profession if needed). Map to Elona Reach and exit to Diviner's Ascent. Follow the quest marker and kill the swarms of scarabs along the way. As with any quest-based farm, remember not to accept the reward; if you accidentally complete its objectives, abandon and retake the quest.
