Wrongly accused of leaching - anything I can do and how long does the PvP ban last?

I was wrongly reported for leaching in Jade Quarry because I reported a girl who was sitting at the rez shrine. So, she reported me to get even. Now I can't do PvP and am wondering if there is anything I can do for people who abuse the reporting system and how long does this PvP ban last? Thanks--96.233.251.75 19:41, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

is it a ban or are you just dishonorable? MrPaladin 19:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
It lasts about ten minutes. The reporting system is crap, don't bother using it except to report spambots. If you want to report people, get a screenshot of them doing stupid stuff and send it to support. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 19:53, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Journey to the North

at lvl 18 when I go to eye of the north I get point in the command area of skills and loose point in earth skills. I am el/par with a spear. I have nothing in command yet in eon game gives me 9 points there and I loose points in earth.

Journey to the North effect? You're using a Spear + a Command shield, so you get 12 points on Spear Mastery and 9 points on Command. --NIN37 21:28, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

pets

How many pets can you have at one time?

You can capture one pet for each character and hero. You may remove pets at any time at a Tamer or in the Zaishen Menagerie if you wish to capture a new pet. --Thervold 23:14, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Game Guides

Where can I find a game guide for Eye of the North and Nightfall?

This wiki is close enough to a game guide. If you want a paper one, you can search around google for one by Prima or whatever other company, but it'll probably be out of date. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 23:25, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Can I PL my pets with a scroll?

Thats basically what I need to know: it says that scrolls add xp to the entire party..does this include the animals? or is their no way to essentially PL a pet shy of taking it to high lvl mobs? Adventurer's Insight, etc, any of these I'm hoping will work but I don't wanna burn one either since I'll have no way of really seeing it in action..no way to monitor xp gained by pets. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! -- 68.39.138.186 18:17, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

getting pets for ranger hero

my charactor is lvl 20 d/mo with 2 ranger heros neither of which have the tame a pet skill yet both have beast mastery skills. how did i get tame a pet skill in order to access pets?--75.94.167.244 01:39, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Heroes have access to all skills unlocked on your account. To unlock a skill you have to buy it yourself from a skill trainer or a hero skill trainer or unlock it for PvP at a Priest of Balthazar. The skill you're looking for is Charm Animal. It will let you (or your heroes) harm a animal companion. The easiest way for you to get it would be to change your secondary profession to a Ranger. If you're doing the Nightfall storyline you'll be able to change your profession at Zuwarah in the Command Post after finishing the quest Hunted! and Building the Base: Prisoners of War. Changing your secondary profession for the first time costs you 500 gold, but any changes after that are free and can be done from the window you equip your skills in. You also get some free skills of your new profession, and Charm Animal is one of them. You need to equip it and, like I said, find a charmable animal like a Flamingo or Lion. I really hope I didn't complicate things too much for you :( — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o 01:51, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Actually you have to pay the first time you change to each new secondary profession (changing back to your original secondary profession is free). -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 05:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Salvaging armor items does not work

I am a level 9 mesmer playing Nightfall. I'm very new to the game. Have googled, wiki'ed, and FAQed this issue - can't find an answer.

I am at Kamadan and have two armor items I am trying to salvage - a corsair pouldron and a skree vambrace. Per the instructions in the wiki, I double-click the salvage kit, the cursor changes to a stick looking thing, indicating the game acknowledged the double-click. I then drag to the item to be salvage, click once, and nothing happens. I've tried over and over.

Can you help? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.150.173.12 (talk).

Is your inventory full? It won't salvage if your inventory is full. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 01:40, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
No - my inventory is nearly empty. Everything is in the vault. BTW - I have tried to salvage items in the vault, and in my ::inventory, neither works. I should tell you that one item (can't recall what it was) worked, i.e. I salvaged a piece of cloth from it, but the pouldron and the vambrace do not work.
Is there anything else I can try? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.53.210.162 (talk).
This is very odd, are they proper salvage items and not quest items that just look like the salvage items in question? Are they gold/purple/blue items? I haven't tried for a while but it may be the case that normal salvage kits don't work and you need to use an expert kit perhaps. Have you id'ed them? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 02:32, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Does it give you a message of any kind when you try to salvage it. Also make sure you are using a salvage kit and not an identification kit.Talk page Drogo Boffin 02:40, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
You say that you're "dragging" to the item to salvage. I'm not sure what you mean by that, but the process is double-click the salvage kit (release the mouse button), then click the item to salvage. That should work... --Mystisteel 03:11, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Which salvage kit are you trying to use? Perfect Salvage Kit cannot be used to destroy items, for example.

I can not get command /dancenew to work any help would be appreciated

Hey i have been on GW for a while now but i just got a collectors edition to add to my account. I added it and got the mini pet etc., but for some reason when i type the /dancenew command my character still does just his default dance. Can someone help me with this problem id really appreciate some input.

--Kyrian Makhail 22:01, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

If you added a Factions collectors edition then only Assassins and Ritualists have a new dance. If it's a Nightfall CE then only Dervishes and Paragons have the new dance. There's not extra dance for Core professions (prophecies CE gives everyone the Divine Aura). — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o 22:03, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Thankyou the help is much appreciated though i didn't expect to get a response quite so fast. But thankyou none the less glad to see there are still people helping others on here. --Kyrian Makhail 22:10, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

getting my pet back

I was wondering if it is possible to get back my pet after I left it at the mengire? I noticed other cats that look like it but I realy want mine back. Any help? --24.7.205.183 00:12, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

It's kind of anticlimactic, but "your" pet is exactly the same as any other pet of the same species. I assume you gave it to Emryd the Tamer. Just talk to Wynn (Zaishen Training Captain) next to her, select the evolution you want, charm him, and pretend that nothing ever happened. ^^; — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o 02:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Don't give your pets to those monsters! I looked inside one of those little huts at the menagerie, and they use the animals you give them to make high-quality hot dogs! --Jette User Jette awesome.png 13:47, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
LIES! No pet labor was ever used to manufacture those hot dogs! --NIN37 06:03, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Creating a Guild in Factions.

Where may I find the Cantha Ambassador? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arkain Nanoc (talk).

You might try searching Canthan Ambassador. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 03:49, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Where is the "Cantha Abassador"?

I keep reading that in order to buy a "Guild Hall" I am to see the "Cantha Ambassador. OK! Where? In the game can he be found? Do I find him in a local pub? Maybe he is in the Guild Wars store? The grocery store getting munchies? Someone surely must know. I mean there are many Guild Halls as there is many Guilds too. Is there never going to be a known answer to my quest to make a Guild Hall? Help Me Please!

Thanks?  :( --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arkain Nanoc (talk).

If you click the link that Wyn provided for you above (or this one -> Canthan Ambassador) you will find a list of locations. On a wiki there's a lot of text in blue, and those link to different articles where you can find more information. Also, try not to make new sections on the talk page for replies, just add to an existing one. — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o 04:57, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
You might also want to check Searching help, which explains how to use the Search tool found on the left menu. --NIN37 06:10, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Suspended (Code=045)

I was suspended for 72 hours because of name policy. Is't possible for me to get suspended because of deleting chars? Because I've been deleting chars for 2 months to check builds and try out the profession and I think Guild Wars thought that I was deleting chars because of the name policy. But I think I was suspended because I was the wrong guy reported. I was in R.A to pvp but I noticed people kept on using names of the skill and replacing 1 word of the skill with the word "Satin". Then I asked "Who is this Satin? It's been 2 days here in R.A." and I know using real names is in the policy of Guild Wars. After that i was in a battle already after like 20 seconds bamm I got suspended.

Thanks for the help in advance--124.105.176.20 05:37, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Satin sounds like Satan. Anyway, if you want you can contact support, but I don't know what good it'll do. After those 72 hours are up and you log back in, any character whose name was found to be offensive will be blocked, and you'll have to change the name before you can play again. And suspensions are always caused by some staff member. Every report goes through real people. They aren't automated. (Exception is a dishonor hex for leeching.) Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 09:22, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Satin doesn't sound like Satan, it sounds like Latin but with an S. In any case, it's Friday, so by the time you contact Support it'll be their day off so it's not likely you'll get help before the block is lifted anyway. Looks like you're gonna have to wait it out.  :/ --Jette User Jette awesome.png 13:48, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

From experience in other 3d rendered games it usualy boils down to two problems... 1- your video card or video card driver is having problems, if this is the case you should be seeing problems in games outside of guildwars also. 2-your data files have become corrupted. Since Guildwars automatically reloads content you might want to take the tiime to uninstall/reinstall the game (the may be a quicker more complex methd by deleting certain data from the game files but I don't know it) MrPaladin talk 14:38, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Artifacts like this probably mean that your graphics card is overheating, or outright dieing. Sorry to say this, but You'll have to look into buying a new graphics card. Roar! Poki#3 (talk) 15:43, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Before you buy a new video card, you might want to open up your case and attack it with compressed air, particuarlly all the fans and vents, paying special attention to the video card fan (usually faces downward off a board in a tower computer these days) and the area immediatly around it. If that dosen't work, pull the card and give it a thourough nook-and-crannie investigation. Make sure the fan blades are still turning fairly freely, too.
(IF that doesn't work and you're otherwise SURE you need to replace the thing, you might want to replace the fan and/or heatsink IF you feel comfortable doing so (and, in some cases, have some arctic silver on hand) . . . also, depending on the specific construction of the mounting and how modular it is. (The fan/heatsink on my whichever vendor ATI HD2xyz is a total ursan flamewar to deal with, for example.) --Star Weaver 01:55, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Imperial Sanctum In Factions

I am having a hard time getting my Paragon/Neucromancer through Imperial Sanctum. I have gone on Wiki and it doesn't have anything specific for a Paragon. I had no problems getting through with my Ranger and my Assasin. I am using Heroes and Henchman. Any tips you can give me for a good Paragon build for this mission would be apreciated.74.229.228.95 20:21, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

That's the one with Shiro, right? You're a paragon, so you get that crappy celestial skill... meh, just abuse your heroes. Give Olias Spoil Victor and some other skills, give Master of Whispers Spiteful SPirit, Insidious Parasite, Price of Failure, and Reckless haste. Finally, give Zhed blinding flash. Assuming you can keep the hexes on him when he goes batshit, it should work. Alternatively, just find an elementalist and tell him to triple-cast Celestial Storm with echo and arcane echo. Usually kills him in approximately 50 seconds, if you're lucky. Faster, if you can find more than one ele. I took eight once, he died in 10 seconds flat. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 01:06, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Celestial Summoning deals enough damage to end Meditation of the Reaper. Wild Throw can be used to end Battle Scars. Heroes can't get celestial skills, but henchmen can. Like Jette said, attack punishment skills work great against Shiro, however, unlike in Nightfall, you'll also need a more direct source of damage due to Meditation of the Reaper. And it needs to be actual damage, life stealing won't work. A mesmer hero with Empathy and Wastrel's Worry would work, as would a ritualist with attacking spirits. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 07:29, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I once killed Shiro with Life Stealing - using different characters, testing weird builds - just for the sake of it. :P
[Sacrifice + Grenth's Balance;OABBQ8YFKE2QPBAAAYHqEA]
Lower your health until you're almost dead, and use Grenth's Balance. Might need a few tries, but once you figure out how to sacrifice yourself without dieing, you can beat Shiro pretty fast... It's possible to kill him with Life Stealing while he's still under Meditation of the Reaper, so might be a good thing (you won't activate his 1..20 x 30 map-wide life-stealing) or a bad thing (if that stance does last 30 seconds and Shiro is still alive, expect a party wipe).
Since this build will work better when you have low life, bringing AI healers might not be a good idea (remember, this build is VERY suicidal...). I used a fully melee H&H party. Yeah, got wiped a few times, but, hey, I did manage to beat that mission in both Normal and Hard Modes... :P
Haven't really tried this with Warrior or Paragon, but my Ranger managed to kill Shiro without major problems... for that extra pip of energy regen, either give Succor or Blood is Power/Blood Renewal to one of your Heroes... or add Masochism to your build (lol?). Unyielding Aura might be a good choice for fast (instantly?) resurrection skill...
Oh, and since you're gonna use Grenth's Balance a lot, the higher your maximum life, the better it works (tip: Survivor + Vitae for a 600 hp armor set). Flag your Heroes and Henchmen to body-block Shiro (and the Bound Construct) and don't hit Shiro with your weapon (Riposting Shadows would probably kill you, since you'd be already low on health).
Since Heroes do not get any Celestial Skill, I used 7 Henchmen (again, I wasn't really trying to beat the mission, was just testing weird builds and checking whether they could be used): Warrior Devona, Warrior Lukas, Necromancer Brutus, Necromancer Sheena, Elementalist Kai Ying, Mesmer Erys Vasburg and Mesmer Seaguard Hala.
Might not be the most efficient build/party, but just a suggestion for players frustrated/bored with that last mission... :P --NIN37 12:48, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
