A size comparison with G.O.X.
M.O.X. the Golem is the latest hero to be made available within the Guild Wars universe, an Asuran construct, quoted as "...the ultimate in magic, mechanized party protection."

Meet M.O.X. the golem, the brainchild of a maverick Asuran inventor named Zinn. As an Asura with an entrepreneurial spirit, Zinn manufactured many golems for all sorts of clients, with little regard for their intended use—until one day when three of his golem creations turned on him. While being forced to augment these sinister creations against his will, Zinn also managed to develop his assistant M.O.X. to aid in his escape from their underground prison. M.O.X. now wanders the land in search of heroes that can help put an end to the three renegade creations and free his creator Zinn.

[edit] Recruitment

M.O.X. is recruited by speaking to it.

M.O.X. is only available to accounts which have access to all three released Guild Wars campaigns (Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall). In addition to this requirement, the character attempting to unlock M.O.X. must be at least level 10 to recruit it.

Guild Wars Eye of the North, since it is an expansion, is not part of the requirement.

To find M.O.X.:

Talking to M.O.X. for the first time will unlock it as a hero. In addition, a Golem User Manual is also placed into the character's inventory.

[edit] Skills

[edit] Hero default skills

12 Scythe Mastery, 12 Mysticism

[edit] Armor

M.O.X. uses armor with the same statistics as basic dervish armor. M.O.X.'s "armor" consists of a Golem Head, Golem Body, Golem Arms, Golem Legs and Golem Stompers.

Unlike other heroes, M.O.X. has no alternate armor sets. Its default armor set is already a prestige armor set, since a statue for M.O.X. becomes available in the Hall of Monuments when M.O.X. is unlocked.

However when using avatars M.O.X. will change his appearance as shown in the gallery.

[edit] Notes

  • Unlike other Golems, M.O.X. is fleshy and susceptible to all conditions and environmental effects that affect humans, but does not spread disease to human characters.
  • Due to its size and hidden weapons, M.O.X is an exclusively PvE hero and thus unable to be used in PvP. (source)
  • In combat, any weapon M.O.X. is wielding does not appear on its model due to the attacking animation used by Golems.
  • Item Spells are not displayed being 'held' by M.O.X. although you do see the Urn fall from M.O.X.'s model when it is dropped.
  • When you talk to M.O.X. for the first time after becoming level ten, it will give you a Golem User Manual, which can be used by players to gain access to the quest Zinn's Task.
  • Because it lacks armor upgrades, M.O.X. is the only hero that can be added to the Hall of Monuments without an armor upgrade.
  • M.O.X.'s default weapon is a max damage blue 9 req Clockwork Scythe of Fortitude with Damage +10% (while Enchanted) and Health +20.
  • Your account must contain the full release versions of all three campaigns; trial keys will not make M.O.X. available.
  • M.O.X. uses unique models for the five avatar forms.
  • A duplicate M.O.X. will show up as a "Dervish Construct".
M.O.X.'s appearance is bugged in PvP to show the wireframes for parts of his skin
M.O.X. appears always if at least one party member hasn't acquired him. Although, the golem user manual says you can only get a second copy from Zinn you can also get one this way.
