Factions

Hey do you guys no where, or how i can get a factions Trial key? I'm trying to get one for my friend but, i cant find one. One didn't come in my factions, just a prophesies trial key. I would buy one in game but it is illegal right?--The Rit 20:45, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Not only is buying one ingame against the EULA, but it's almost 100% always a scam (i.e., you give them the money and they either do not give you a key at all, or give you a fake one). I believe copies of Nightfall come with a trial key that will work for Nightfall, but also one that will work for all of the other campaigns as well (i.e., Proph, Factions, and NF). I believe it's called an Epic Trial Key. I can't remember if copies of GW:EN come with one. Either way, you could ask one of your friends if they've got one of these maybe. Pretty sure there's no other way to get one (unless one of the other nice people on here have an unused one, since I've already given people mine). --Dragon nataku 00:21, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Marksmanship Critical Rate Progression

I was wondering if anyone knew the critical rate progression for marksmanship. I can't seem to find values for it anywhere, including the marksmanship article. I ask because I am trying to do calculations on my total critical rate with and Assassin/Ranger criticals build. Thanks in advance.

 --66.244.117.41 23:38, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
It's about 1.3% per attribute rank. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 01:56, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Merge

I know you can merge accounts, showing that you have ownership. Would it be possible to merge a trial with an actual account? I am asking this question because I happened to get some rather valuable items with the 8 hours so far, and it would fetch from 20-50k. I looked on the support on the official GuildWars website and to no with no luck. Thanks --96.225.202.13 03:25, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

No, merging wipes one of the accounts. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:54, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
I would suggest trying to trade your items to a permanent account. Or has trading been disabled for trial accounts? WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 12:47, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean it wipes? And I can trade (its the really good trial key)but i dont have 2 computers. I wish i could merge my trial and proph accoutns D:--96.225.202.13 15:51, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Either risk using another person (friend maybe?) to hold the stuff and give it to your Proph account, or use one of the not-so-supported-by-Anet ways to run two accounts at the same time on one computer. There are two ways that I know of. One involves messing with your registry, and the other involves using a third-party program called GWx2. Neither of these ways will get you banned (last I checked, anyway), but Anet's stance on it is that if doing either of these breaks your game, don't call support cause they won't help you. --Dragon nataku 03:21, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Last I checked, trial accounts cannot trade/drop items.
No access to shared storage, player trading, dropping items or gold, or picking up things dropped by other players. [1]
And by "wipe" Why Gordon probably meant "everything from that account (character, item, gold, title track, unlocked skill, etc) will be deleted and access to that campaign will be added to your other account". --NIN37 23:54, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Reaching Lion's Arch with a foreign character

I traveled from kaineng to kamaden but cant get to lions arch and Ive done the mustering of troops. It will let me go to the first mission in kourna but I still cant go to lions arch. Help please? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Twowolf (talk).

You can reach Lion's Arch by completing one of two quests: Chaos in Kryta from Guardsman Chienpo in Kaineng Center or Terror in Tyria from Deras Tenderlin in Kamadan, Jewel of Istan. Terror in Tyria isn't available until after you've completed The Time is Nigh and reached the Consulate Docks outpost. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 09:00, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

What campaigns do you own? Heroes are exclusive to Nightfall and Eye of the North; unless you own one of these, you won't have access to Heroes.
I'd suggest taking a look at the Heroes page, you'll find more info there. List of Nightfall heroes and List of Eye of the North heroes also shows where each Hero can be found. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:56, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Confuzzeled

Hey when you click on the link builds than PvXwiki, it gives me some builds. I was looking at the Rit ones and it said that i could use a shield. Than some ranger ones said sword or hammer, when their secondary was monk... I dont get this. Is it possible to use any weapon and actually do damage with it?--96.225.202.13 23:12, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but the damage will be very low. Shields (16 armor) give 8 armor when you do not meet their requirement. Many Monks use shields for extra protection, even when they do not have 9 in the corresponding attribute. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 23:22, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Might be worth noting that the only thing that needs the requirement (i.e., requires 9 strength or whatever) is the damage (in weapons), or the armour (in shields), or the energy additions (in focus items). Any other mods the item may have will still apply even if you do not meet the requirement, so if you're a monk and have an armour 16, HP +30, dmg -5 (20%) shield you don't get the armour 16 part, but you get the HP +30 and the damage reduction. This might be a reason why they do it. --Dragon nataku 03:25, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure there's general gaming addiction support groups out there. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 07:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
If it really becomes a problem, you can give your account to a friend to hold for a while. Let them know your current password. Instruct them to change the login e-mail address and password. You'll get the e-mail notification that your login info has changed, but if you don't respond to the e-mail, then you can't change it back without the friend's help. That way, your account stays intact, but you can't access it in a moment of weakness. Make sure it's a good friend (one that won't delete your character or sell all their armor and weapons) that is also willing to log-in every so often so that ANet doesn't delete it for inactivity. 64.32.249.154 00:34, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
ANet does not delete accounts due to inactivity. Accounts are only terminated when User Agreement/Terms of Use are violated (would need a severe offense). --NIN37 01:23, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

First, do you have Eye of the North? Second are you at least level 10? You need both of these things to do that quest. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 13:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
For one, make sure that the Hole of Istan quest is in your quest log (press "L"). And note that to enter the Fissure, you "talk" to the targetable "Fissure", instead of simply walking into it. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 14:58, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Also, please note that if you have one of the other quests that take you to GW:EN (i.e., What Lies Beneath from Lion's Arch, or I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha's Feet from Kaineng Center), you will NOT be able to get the Hole of Istan quest in Kamadan. --Dragon nataku 02:17, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

It sounds to me like you have some sort of firewall issue either in your computer or in your router that is preventing you from connecting to the ArenaNet servers. You may want to contact your ISP and ask if they can help you solve the problem. Or use the link at the top of this page to contact ArenaNet support. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 15:40, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

If by "dint go past 0%" you mean the game was downloading its updates, I have to tell you that, if you're installing the game from the internet (instead of using a CD/DVD), you'll have to download about 4GB of data... Which can take quite a long time (from 1~2 hours on a very fast broadband connection to a few days on a 56Kpbs dial-up modem).
If this is your case, try using the -image command line arguments.
"..\Guild Wars\gw.exe" -image
Sorry if I misunderstood your question. It's a bit hard to understand your text due to the lack of punctuation, could you rephrase yourself, please? --NIN37 17:02, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Or talk to your parent/guardian to try to fix the networking problem. If you are not getting past the very first connect screen, it's most likely something in your connection privileges. If you are on a school network, they may have it blocked, many schools do, and in that case, you won't be able to play. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 17:18, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Swordsmen ship

Hey, i made a new Warrior lv 8 right now. I equipped a lesser swordsmen ship rune to my plate mail body, than i got a Templar head that gives me 1 swordsmen ship. Now when i equip a sword req 9 swordsmen ship, It acts like i dont have 9 swds men ship. When i go to the attribute bar, it says i only have 7 swordsmen ship, when i should have 9 (plus the rune and armor thing.) Thanks--96.225.202.13 01:30, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Try this, take off all your armor, raise your swordsmanship to 7, then put your armor back on. --mira castillo 01:38, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
or, take the swordsmanship rune off your body and put it on your headgear. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 01:41, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Level 8 characters should have 35 attribute points. To get your Swordsmanship attribute to rank 7, you'll need to spend 28 points, leaving only 7 unused points (that could raise a second attribute to level 3). Are you sure you haven't spent points or other attributes? --NIN37 04:10, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
If you have 7 attribute points in Swordsmanship, a headpiece with Swordsmanship +1 (Stacking), and an equipped Rune of Minor Swordsmanship, you will definitely have 9 Swordsmanship. Check you have the items equipped properly, and click the links here for more info. :) Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 12:05, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Well its me again, i tried taking off my armor, it now says i have 9, but with a maxed green sword i can only hit 11's..--66.154.221.1 17:29, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

That sounds pretty normal. You'll hit for more or less depending on your foe's armor and level; as you get to be a higher level, you'll probably hit for more as well against the same foes. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 17:57, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
See Damage calculation for more info on what influences your damage (your level, your enemy level, your enemy armor level, etc).
A level 20 character using a max-damage sword should deal 15-22 damage against a level 20 foe with Armor Level = 60. --NIN37 19:14, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
And as a quick example, since Warriors should have a total of 100 armor against physical damage, if you're a level 20 and you hit another level 20 Warrior with a sword, you'll only end up doing about half that (about 7-11). If you're only hitting 11s against foes right now, chances are they're either higher level then you, or they're Warriors as well. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:19, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

In-game store (needing some updates?)

moved from Help:Ask a wiki question
Guild Wars In-Game Store
Hey, could someone check the prices for the campaigns?
Wiki says Prophecies costs "19.99 USD / €25.99 / 15.99 GBP", while the other games cost "29.99 USD / €19.99 / 14.99 GBP" (this info, itself, makes no sense, since if it's cheaper in Dollar compared to the other games, it shouldn't be more expensive in Euro/Pound).
Also, PlayNC store says all of them cost $29.99 each (I believe prices in € and £ would be similar to the other games, but I can't check European prices).

And "Additional character slots" are said to be able to upgrade your account to hold "up to a total of 32 slots". This statemant was probably made before Nightfall release (4 + 2 + 26) and is somehow inaccurate.
Checking a comment about Character Slots, seems you can "buy up to 26 character slots" and "character slots purchased other from the in-game store does not count towards that maximum amount" (so Pre-Release Nightfall that came with 1 bonus character slot and, probably, PAX prizes could enable a player to have 35 or more character slots on their account).

Yeah, I know I should be a bit bold and edit the article myself, but since I cannot check 1st info (I can't confirm European price and don't have a non-prophecies account to see how much it costs in the in-game store) nor give accurate data on 2nd info (might want to check with more people who got Nightfall PR pack to confirm they can get 35th character slot, and no idea whether PAX prizes - or similar bonus character slot - would work same way), think posting here (or inside In-Game Store talk page) would be more reasonable. :P --NIN37 20:11, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
I can confirm the UK prices in £s. You will find that a lot things are cheaper in $s than £s even taking in consideration of the exchange rate, mostly due to tax and import duty but also due to other differences.
I'm not sure on the character slots though sorry.- TheRave talk (talk) 20:19, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. So, in Europe, Prophecies is the most expensive game? O_O
I've change price in USD to 29.99 cause that's what PlayNC site says (at least today). --NIN37 21:24, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Does chance to half recharge skill or chance to half cast time of skill stack?

Example: rod w/ 1/2 recharge skill A 20% and focus w/ 1/2 recharge skill A 20% = 20% or 40% chance? Same question for 1/2 casting time 20% - rod w/ 1/2 cast time skill B 20% and focus w/ 1/2 cast time skill B 20% = 20% or 40% chance? thanx Sledj 08:23, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes they stack but the total is not 40% its 36% if i remember correctly, the number may seems odd but it has to do with math and i think overlapping or something Durga Dido 08:44, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
More precisely, having a weapon and offhand with a 20% chance each to halve casting time results in a 32% chance to halve the casting time and a 4% chance to quarter it. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 09:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
And you'd get a 36% chance of Half Skill Recharge.
Check 40/40 and its discussion page for more detailed info.
A very useful chart can be found at GWG. --NIN37 11:25, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes it's 36% because the first weapon has a 20% chance reduction. Which leaves 80% chance of failure. The 2nd weapon then gives a 20% change of the remaining 80%. 20% of 80% is 16%. So the first weapon (20%) added to the second (16%) = 36%. Or something. ;) Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 12:38, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

The "saved builds" are stored in text files on your computer. If they get removed some how (by doing a format, reinstall or similar) then they will be lost. Installation and access keys

I have an old guild wars game that has every thing but the game's access key was already by my brother. Can I use the same access key? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:69.230.41.8 (talk).

If you have the game disc and wish to create an account and activate it with the access key, then no. You can install Guild Wars from any disc or the website, but you need an access key to create an account or to add more campaigns onto one. If you have already created an account, you can log in after downloading GW without need of the access key. Basically, the 30-50 dollars you paid for any of the GW games were essentially for the access key. 98.235.95.60 00:23, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Elonian Cartographer

moved from ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars suggestions#Elonian Cartographer

Ok now im not totally sure if this can even be changed but ill ask anyways, when i bought NF i already knew how to play the game so naturally i skipped the tutorial, unfortunately after the fact i discovered that shehak or w/e counts for a good amount towards the cartographer title. normally this wouldnt be a problem but i only found it out after the char was lvl 20 and had KOABD i plan to gain more titles on him and now i cant gain elonian cartographer is there anyway to either take out the amount shehak counts for or allow player to access it after the tutorial.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:99.237.19.17 (talk).

Even without the tutorial section(s) it is still easily possible to map the entire of any of the continents. This is so characters from other continents can still get the title. For instance my Tyrian necro has mapped Elona and he never had access to the tutorial section. The title(s) do not require every single little bit to be uncovered. The Cartographer page says "It is important to note that all possible areas of exploration for each continent actually total up to more than 100%. On each continent, there is an observed small leeway (about 0.1% to 0.2%) to account for areas that became inaccessible. On Tyria, this is most noticeable. All of the previous PvP arenas (such as Fort Koga) are no longer accessible, but 100% exploration is still achievable. On Cantha, Monastery Overlook and Shing Jea Arena comes to mind. For Elona, it would be the small Island of Shehkah.". If you're still struggling check out some of the help avaliable, for instance the Cartography Made Easy Texmod Mod. Hope this helps.- TheRave talk (talk) 13:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Bizarely, there must have been a time when none Elonian characters could get onto the island - my Factions character has all of the Island of Shehkah mapped, even though the gates to it are presently closed to her. --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 14:07, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok yea i know bout the textmod thing but thank you i glad to know i can still get grand master in elona--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:99.237.19.17 (talk).
Found this picture about tutorial area of Nightfall. Top picture is for non-Elonian; bottom picture is for Elonian that did the whole tutorial. Might not be very clear, but it's possible to see resurrection shrine NE from where character stands (Eastern portion of the island) is fogged for foreign character.
Back to OP's question, GuildWiki has a helpful guide if you're having some hard time getting Grandmaster Cartographer.
Since one single character has to uncover 100% of each continent to get Legendary Cartographer title, characters from any campaign have to be able to uncover at least 100% of each map (so, each continent has 103~107% of uncoverable area; not sure about the exact value).

North Kryta has a maximum 241 depending on what quests you have active and which popups you activate. It could be as little as 126. It is likely you have just missed a group with a large patrol or a popup has activated late and you didn't notice it. Just keep scouting around and you'll find it. Its likely that you are pretty close and only have one or two groups left.- TheRave talk (talk) 18:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

elonian protector title track

I have completed Consulate docks and venta cemetary missions and bonuses. My game map shows both completed. My Night Falls storybook shows both completed. Yet, my Elonian Protector Title track says 1/20 missions completed. What gives? Also, since i skipped the tutorial (and my storybook only has 17 missions listed) can i even max this title track? If so, how? thanx Sledj 00:57, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

You need to complete a mission to "Master" level (shows two crossed swords and spear on your world map) to have it count towards the Protector title. Check the mission pages to find out what you need to do to meet the Masters requirement.
For the books, you just need to complete the missions to any level. The 'Night Falls' book covers the missions from Consulate Docks and onwards; the three missions on the island are tracked (in Hard Mode only) in the 'Young Heroes of Tyria' book. — User Kyrasantae Fin sig.gif kyrasantae 02:52, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
As for your other question, the Elonian Protector title is only based on mission completion. The tutorial is a quest, it doesn't count towards the title. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 02:00, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

legendary guardian title

I have a Tyrian character and have started working towards my Canthan Protector title. Master Togo says I can look around but will not start the mission to Minister Chow's Estate. So I mapped to the beginning point for missions in Elonia and got more of the same. You have to run to Minister Cho's Estate from Shing Jae Monestary and then you can do the mission. You also have to run to Zen Daijun to do that one. You can not get the quests that take you to either as a non-Canthan character, but you can access both missions. You should have no difficulties starting the Chahbek Village mission on Istan either as long as you have Koss in your party. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 08:13, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

hero armor

trying to get a drop for general morgan is shadow nexus cant get any drops --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:69.230.167.125 (talk).

Keep trying, I don't know what the minimum score is that will allow a drop, but I have gotten them with a score of 85-100. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 10:02, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
First, make sure you have at least one empty slot in your inventory ([Hero Armor upgrades do not drop in the ground like regular items/gold; instead, they automatically appear in player's inventory). Keep killing Margonite Portal Mage until you get them.
This is reported to be unrelated to your score (sure, the more Mages you kill, the higher the chance one of them will drop you some Mysterious Armor Pieces, but killing a large amount of them in a single run does not guarantee you'd get more items than killing just a few of them per run during several runs). --NIN37 16:52, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

How do you make ur guild tag in chinese?

Hello, I'm new to GW, i'm tryin to make a guild, but i want it in chinese, becauses i m chinese. But when i talk to the guild regitrater, it says i can only make guild in english letters. CAn some 1 pls help me? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Ryuke (talk).

ni hao (my friends don't teach me very much Chinese...). I am pretty sure that if you are on American/European servers (i.e., not Chinese server), you can only make guild name with English characters. But I think that you can make the tag have non-English characters (by "tag" I mean the part inside the [] things, like [龍の男], and yes I know that tag I just said is stupid, I am terribly uncreative, sorry. Also, it's in Japanese...). When you created your account, the game asked you what territory you wanted to be in, in this screen specifically, and I'm almost 100% sure that only guilds on Korean, Japanese, or Chinese servers can make guilds with non-English characters in the actual guild name. If you see guilds in other servers with non-English characters in the actual name and not the tag, it's probably because awhile ago there was also a Taiwanese server in GuildWars, but for some reason it was deleted and all of the Taiwanese players seem to have been dumped onto American servers. I hope that helps! Also, in the future can you put four ~ thingies after all of your comments here? Thanks. --Dragon nataku 20:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
You need the Chinese/Taiwan version of the game. Just find someone in-game with a Chinese name (in characters) and ask them politely if they are willing to create a guild for you. They may or may not understand English. Offering a chunk of platinum helps. --mira castillo 21:10, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Against the Destroyers

I have the primary quest Against the Destroyers active in EoN....I have completed the entire quest, up to Heart of the Shiverpeaks. I ran through it with a friend, and Jalis Ironhammer gave me the quest as well. It says now, in my Heroes Book, that I've completed it...however, Jalis Ironhammer won't give me the next quest! I can't finish the campaign without my quest log saying that I've completed that. I tried to abandon the quest to start all over (the only thing I could think of to do), but it came up that I couldn't abandon that quest. How do I get to the next step??--71.61.19.85 23:07, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Against the Destroyers is a quest that spans multiple quests... have you done all of those as well? List of Eye of the North primary quests should show you exactly what you need to actually finish Against the Destroyers, check that you've finished all those as well. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 01:22, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Check the quest in your Quest Log ("L").
If it's 100% complete, it should say "See Droknar for your reward" and have a "(Completed)" status next to the Quest's name.
If you've completed the Primary arches (Asur, Ebon Vanguard and Norn) and still can't get your quest log updated, chances are you've skip one of those "Look in the scrying pool at the Eye of the North". Go back to the Hall of Monuments and interact with the scrying pool until it updates and tells you to talk to Jalis Ironhammer (you'll probably have to redo Heart of the Shiverpeaks). IIRC, you can't fight The Great Destroyer until you have Against the Destroyers updated. --NIN37 05:31, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Best weapons

Hello i have been trying to find out what weapons are the best. Such as purple, gold, green, destroyer and tormented. If there is why is one better than the other. Between the say a perfect purple and a perfect gold is it the rearity of the drop? Are there damager modifiers built into each weapon increasing from white to green. and if there are do they change the damage percetage closer to a critical hit more of the time. Thank you

Dave --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:75.82.236.14 (talk).
The short answer is that if the stat blocks are the same, colour and skin don't make any difference. And as long as you meet it, attribute requirement doesn't make a difference either. For the long answer, see item rarity. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:32, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
As for Best that's really a personal choice based on what kind of builds you run and what your individual play style is. What is best for one of us is not necessarily best for the other. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 06:12, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Creature Health

How much health does each creature have? Does it scale like player health or is there a seperate formula?--Kenny 17:15, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

I believe it scales like player health, mostly. Bosses and boss-likes are exceptions, I think. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 18:02, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
All creatues (creature includes player characters) uses the clvl*20 + 80 formula. Some monsters then have hidden moster only skills that increase (or in a few cases, decrease) their health. Backsword 20:04, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Monk Heros

Hello I was wondering if what happens to me is normal. For example I put the skill Life Bond on there skill bar, and i target myself then I tell them to use it on me and it will be on me for about a half a second, is that right?

Thanks, --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:206.53.75.163 (talk).

It's normal AI behavior. You have to disable the skill on their bar then manually activate it. If you don't disable the skill they won't maintain the enchantment. -Auron 21:07, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
How did I disable the skill? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:206.53.75.163 (talk).
Shift + click on the skill. -Auron 21:10, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Throne of Secrets Access

The only way to access the Throne of secrets is to complete Abbadon every time. There is no town or outpost there, the only way is through Abbadon. Therefore we can't help, you'll just have to kill him again.- TheRave talk (talk) 19:45, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

guild capes

how do you create a cape for yuor guild if you are the leader and where is the person that you have to go to for this task if you have to go to someone--64.68.255.61 20:24, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

The Cape article should be able to answer all your questions. But basically you need to talk to the Guild Emblemer NPC.- TheRave talk (talk) 20:26, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Death and regen

If you are part of a party and one member dies, and the surviving members cannot resurrect the dead party member, what happens? Does the dead member just wait for the remaining members to die before everyone respawns together? Or is there a way for them to respawn without being resurrected? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:124.168.204.28 (talk).

In an explorable area the resurrect countdown timer will begin. If there are surviving members when the countdown is complete they will be teleported to the resurrection shrine the others are resurrected at. --JonTheMon 00:31, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Only if the surviving members are heroes or henchmen. The timer doesn't start until all player characters are dead and none of the surviving heroes or henchmen have usable resurrection skills. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 01:49, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Guild Faction

I noticed that the guild faction drops, but why? does it drop when someone leaves the guild or does faction only last for a certain amount of time? or does it just drop gradually? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:96.231.80.62 (talk).

There's some sort of formula, but I don't know where it is or if it's even been publicized. I believe that it's so serious faction-farming guilds need to keep farming (hence the 5000 a day requirement for some guilds), but also so new guilds aren't at a serious disadvantage in the faction department. calor (talk) 02:24, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Isn't it just a loss of 10% a day? --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 02:28, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I think it is 10% per day loss of guild faction. I'm unsure if this affects both large and small guilds, though. User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 02:29, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
The faction rewards article also states it's a 10% daily loss. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 02:31, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Meh. I thought it had something to do with the size of the guild, but I guess not. calor (talk) 02:33, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I believe you also lose faction when someone leaves, though that is more of an observation than a researched fact. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 03:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

game of the year manual

I just purchased GuildWars Game of the year edition and have never played any version before. Is there a manual for this version? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.209.65.243 (talk).

GuildWars.com.
"Game of the Year" refers to "Prophecies" campaign.
Best way to learn how to play the game is through playing it. :D
There's a "tutorial" area at the beginning of each campaign, so you won't get lost. --NIN37 16:53, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Upgrades and Price Checks

Well this is sorta a 2 part question. I bought a shocking scythe snathe for 2.5k and i realized that was a ripoff. But worse, when I tried to put it on my Dwayna's Grace, or my Terror Scythe, it wouldn't let me.

Question: How come I can't upgrade my scythes with a shcoking scythe snathe, and is there a website with an item database that tells the pries of things? Thanks. --Rach 22:25, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Rach

EDIT: I also got a suntouched scythe from the costume brawl pvp, but i still can't equip it. can someone tell me why?

You can't upgrade green weapons since they are unique. (See here, it says that right at the top.) As for a place that tells prices, try here. Hope that helps. The Cabal User The Cabal Sig pic 04.png 22:30, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Unique items can't be upgraded. The wiki doesn't maintain any sort of price check resource because they change too much. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 22:32, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
