Oblivion stuff.
Damn, told myself I wouldn't do that. I sorta, accidentally powerleveled my new Snowscale monk, mostly in Speechcraft and Mercantile. I might reroll her later and take out speechcraft. The perks kind of suck. Might plug in Mysticism for shield spells because I get hurt. A lot.
But I still roleplayed to an extent and I got a tab open right now, began writing the fanfiction under the header I added yesterday. It'll go through some edits but I'm just wingin' it, very happy with the first paragraph. Hope you people enjoy.
December 17. 2008[edit]
Another day, another commentary on Fable. Let's call this a "sequel post". Afterwards a small word on Oblivion.
I believe I'm going to throw outs the CONS of Method's 1-3 from my previous entry... A couple of them I found out relatively recently.
Method 1: Melee. Unless you go all battlemage, and EVEN THEN, you're pretty much stuck swinging something throughout the entire game. Not too much of a con for me though, since I have fun anyway. Without physical shield, you're suseptable to getting your combat multiplier knocked down, and a lot. The special problem is Balverines when do double hits, and bandits that sometimes hit you 4 times before letting off, effectively killing 20 points from your multiplier. Overall, then means you get less experience as you play. My pure will-user was able to max out the most used spells before he even got to the arena.
Summary: Too simple, less experiece due to being hit.
Method 2: Using ranged all the way through just isn't viable. In order to get headshots you need to have your cross/bow upgraded to the latest and greatest, or youll have to go for a 2-shot, and enemies might just be running your way by then. Not enough things to help you attack more than one fow, only Multi Shot where you get the one target more than once per shot. Which is nice, it's just not AoE. And the experience you get from hitting something with your cross/bow isn't comparable to the mass amounts you get with spells and melee. Summary: No AoE, no hitting multiple targets. Skill experience is sparse.
Method 3: Pure magic. This is a sad thing I discovered recently as I plowed through the final two-three missions before the Lost Chapters expansion quests. Using physical shield, every enemy slams it for a decent chunk, more damage than you would take with maximum toughness, you'd take less damage as a melee character... This means you have to pop twice as many will potions, not only to keep your "Armor" up, but you keep having to cast spells as well. Now, I only use a center-few spells so I'm usually only using them for the Physical Shield, but every now and then I pop something bigger that almost shuts my Shield off. And it's life threatening because the enemies at where I am now, hit me for triple than they normally would as a melee character.
Summary: You pop potions more than the above 2 methods would.
And now, just a small word on Oblivion.
A while ago I spoke of how awesome my Hand-To-Hand character was, and I made this perfectly cute female nord face... And then after I beat everything I sought to reroll her and actually take my time a bit. Roleplay a good bit. But alas, I could never duplicate the perfect face. My next nord females always turned into some ugly chick that looked like she was 20 going on 80 almost. It wasn't too terrible but it just... wasn't what I wanted.
So I gave up on starting with maximum strength and went with my favorite race, Argonian. Storyline and personality is the -exact same-, only I have a cute pale argonian. Yes, I went all-white again. Hey, she's not really going to be a thief anyway. Or, she might! If that's what roleplay takes her. Like the need for food or somethig. But again I'll be doing a lot of trekking so food will be found on the road.
What did she do? She was a monk that got too angry and beat a lot of monks into submission, giving her an unspoken excommunication from the church along with a nice visit to prison. She didn't kill anyone, but she almost did.
I just hope I don't level too fast. I did take Speechcraft and Mercantile, which are terrible to level in this game. Instead of taking optimal skills, I went with ones that made sense (Alchemy would have but then "would this ex-con be carrying around all this equipment just to make a potion? No). So I took speechcraft because she has to talk to a lot of people (and had to get the wrist irons off) and mercantile because she'll be trading a lot... I'll pretty much be doing a lot of dungeon delving with this character, as she's effectively an escaped fugitive (I'm ignoring the last-minute pardon thing the Emperor gave), I'm avoiding the Imperial City at all costs -except- the initial visit to sell my crap, then I just fast traveled to like, Bravil, or something, and starting from the bottom up.
Eventually, I might roleplay it so that she has to fight in the Arena to win her actual pardon-all-crimes.
In conclusion, it will be a fun roleplay. Everywhere Riki goes, she'll see the looming tower of the Imperial City, marveling in it's beauty along with the realization that it's the most dangerous place for her to go.

Survivor Finale will be on soon. Glee. Oddly enough I've never had a blog post about that family tradition for the past few years. Survivor is like *the* reality show.
Anyway, games. Specifically I have more on my recent Fable spree. (For those just hopping in, this is Fable 1 only. Fable 2 commentary will come after Christmas).
Method 1: Melee. Easily the easiest way to play, because you get nothing but strength and general experience which effectively doubles your ability to level stuff up.
Method 2: Bow. I tried this, it didn't work. I basically became a spellwarrior again. Now, I was able to survive without ANYTHING in toughness and only put 4 points into physique. Maxed health. I /did/ max every skill-related, um, skill. (Very original in category-naming, guys)... But eventually I became the standard melee-swinging and will-using battle-mage. Bows didn't do enough damage nor could they ever hit more than one target so it just wasn't optimal for normal play. Slower play, maybe. If you have the patience. But going all-skill and little-strength is certainly viable. If you're like me, being a hulking mass of human isn't attractive after a while.
Method 3: My new favorite. I know how powerful magic is in mid-to-endgame but I never thought how it would work in the start and it does wonderfully. You would think default = weakest spell, right? Wrong. When it's maxed, it hits up to 4 targets and it STAGGERS them, so nothing really gets near you. And for the ones that do, combo it with physical shield which has your mana act as your health so there's no need to level anything up in the Strength line. (A couple points in health might be a healthy (hurr hurr hurr) way to go though, just in case).
I owned up the entire Arena quest with pretty much nothing but Lightning.
My current rotation is Physical Shield and Lightning. I pop enflame (AoE damage/knockback) a couple times here and there. Slow time for the bandits and rock trolls. If I can afford it, might throw in a couple others just for the hell of it.
I have about 3-4 points in health and 3 points into speed. Other than that, I've got enough max spells where the game still considers me a pure will-user.
The other reason I enjoy this is because I actually like being skinny, making the clothing look a hell of a lot better on my character. In Method 2, I had my guy in fire-assassin garb... But try wearing it as an all-strength character. Terrible looking.
I didn't think pure will-using would work, but holy hell.

Spoilers: Punisher War Zone
Guh.
(Not sure if anything here is spoiler-like but I often tag my reviews anyway, to be safe).
First off, I was a huge fan of Thomas Jane's version of the Punisher (2004, was it?), it was brilliant and well done. Now, I'm also able to suspend some disbelief, so I don't mind when a character passes along actors. You can't always have the same guy.
However, this movie pissed me off. What is it about sequels where the writers look at the prequels and comics and go "Yea, that worked very well. Let's NOT do that," and then go fuck up what worked.
So far, this sounds pretty harsh for my 7/10, but let's get the terrible things out of the way first.
Dialogue/Script. Are you kidding me? The lines that were given were terrible, some of the scenes were cringe-worthy.
Accuracy. Not a big comic guy but the Punisher HAPPENS to be one of them that I'm fairly proficient at. Fairly. I'm no expert so don't quote me on any of this... But didn't Frank Castle have one kid? And it was a boy? What they SHOULD have done was stick with the basis the previous movie set forth, the Family Reunion. It was believable and the slaughter was relatively realistic. So tell me, where the fuck did the Picnic come from? I don't recall exactly how his family died in the comics but I also don't recall him having two kids. They did the exact opposite of what they should have done and acted like the previous movie didn't happen. Mistake.
The little girl. Terrible actor. Seriously, the one scene where they were in the subway, she arbitrarily rushed to this chest that the Punisher kept his kid's stuff up ad started, basically, STEALING shit from out of it, putting clips her hair and playing with a toy. Now, it would be understandable of Frank Castle allowed it but the way it was done was terribly.
On a similar note to above, the Mother/Daughter relationship towards Frank Castle wasn't developed properly. I can't put my finger on what they did wrong but I didn't develop any sympathy for them. Perhaps It wasn't enough airtime, I don't know. But I didn't give a damn about them. They did something wrong.
The gore. I know, I know. The comic was bloody and the previous movie was violent. But this was excessive, in a Grindhouse-esque type of blood spray. Sure, I've never witnessed a shooting but blood doesn't pop out of you when you're shot like you've got a gallon of ketchup tucked under your jacket. The previous movie blended the violence with just the right amount of blood that made it believable.
A final, minor complaint that isn't nearly as bad as the above points; Most of us Punisher fans recall the fight against the Russian, yes? It was epic, it was long, and the Punisher showed that he's just a normal human being by getting F'D up and needed major aid by the end of the fight. However, in this movie, he wore armor most of the time, got shot a grand total of what, 8 times during the movie? Even the fight with Jigsaw's brother, was too short and the Punisher prevailed way too easily. They're called Boss Fights for a reason.
OKAY. That was pretty harsh for my number review, so by now the word "contradictive" might be popping in your mind... So let met explain what saved this.
The acting. Save for a couple of the minor actors such as the random Mexican who uncharacteristically played with the girl, and the girl herself, the only two terrible actors I can think of... And the guy who played this random Mexican probably wasn't his fault. The actors did very well for the garbage script that was handed to them.
Jigsaw's brother played a believably menacing comic-book based villain, even more-so than Jigsaw himself. I must admit I wasn't deep enough into the comics to know if Jigsaw even had a brother BUT, at least it was an addition that didn't suck.
Writers made this same mistake here, as the writers did with the Chronicles of Riddick, terrible script but the acting, effects, and action, are able to save this movie from being complete garbage.
I think my 7/10 might be *too* high, maybe a 6/10, but I did enjoy the movie enough. It just depends what you go to see it for.

Fable stuff. With the Lost Chapters. Spoilers ahead, in case you haven't played it. (you loser)
It's pretty definite that I'm getting Fable 2 for christmas and the more I think about it, the more I play Fable 1 for nostalgia's(sp?) sake. I make characters look good. Damn good. Most of the game I do good but I take the bad path on the major end-game spots like the Sword of Aeons (which I, oddly, skipped in my recent character. Just went and got Avo's Tear) and keeping Jack's mask.
I love being bad on the game but It's extremely annoying, watching people run from me and screech. I go to towns a lot for semi-roleplay and rent collection. So I'm keeping my attractiveness stat up (grr, still -12, Jack's Mask gives like -156 so it's difficult) and going to attempt to get my morality up. Then I'm going to put on some non +light armor and see what happens.
It's annoying because donating at the Temple of Avo only gives like +7 to my morality as opposed to +300-450 like it used to. I wasted 100k gold for 8 stinking points to my character's alignment. Bastards.
My eventual goal is to make a seperate save game after I'm set up and then slaughter a city to see if It's still possible to get those ugly-ass horns. Just as an experiment.
Fun stuff.
December 1. 2008[edit]
Been gone a month. I've been playing WoW with the new Wrath of the Lich King expansion, made Allein a death knight. I'm now Alleindakaa on Earthen Ring, just mashed her IC-last name into it. Gonna clean up my Earthen Ring characters, there's a few I like but never play. I shit you not, I have three level 13's which seem to be RP-only. But I don't RP them. At the end of it all I may just have Allein (lvl 66 warrior), Alleindakaa (lvl 70 (YES!!!!!) Death Knight), and Relmyna (lvl 33 rogue, Blood elf, my only hordie at all). Oh shit, yea, Imrein (level 27 paladin)... All else, no reason to keep any of them.
So yea. That's where I've been. Leveled a death knight from it's starter level 55, to 70. My first 70 happens to be the new class. It helped a lot that you're 58 by the time you leave their starting area, being able to hop right into Burning Crusade areas to level up further and faster.
On GW right now though, gonna farm on Hasin and probably plop straight back on WoW when my brother is done with it.
I hope to get Fable 2 this christmas. *Crosses Fingers*

Ahhhh...
I've beaten two campaigns and an expansion with that scythe. I beat another with an axe. Finally, Nikki has become the first character with every single campaign unlocked with relatively EVERY area in each. I need some Jade Sea exploration but, generally, I have everything. Nikki will be my relative go-to girl when friends or whatever need help in a mission, provided they don't mind a melee-ranger.
Speaking of being a melee ranger... I mentioned on an earlier entry that I did rate the standard Never Rampage Alone axe build, originally I rated it a full 5 because it worked on Istan island, but the vote got killed because I wasn't testing it against level 20's and up. Well, as noted, I've beaten every damn thing with either the axe or scythe.
I've yet to attempt my recently attained hammer builds for her, and I'm a little iffy with it. First, there's no AoE. Second, the hammer elites and hell, the normal skills, require way too much adrenaline for easy spammage. It's unfortunate but I may have to PvP and unlock some hammer skills that are actually to -my- liking, preferably ones more energy based. Sadly, not many decent hammer elite alternatives and I'm currently dealing with Earth Shaker, which requires a whopping 8. Jesus, man. When I need to knockdown something, I generally want to interrupt something at the START of the fight. But, I've yet to play it so I can't really judge. I probably won't for a while, in fear of sacrificing my l33t scythe damage.
I also gained a couple more armors for Nikki, luxon and elite druid. They're for her princess-roleplay... but I'll just put on the Norn for normal stuff. Well, the luxon is runed up so I might use that from time to time.
I was originally thinking about making a list of where each of my characters are in a campaign but really, all I need is to check my character page and read "Completed This" on their achievements and I get an idea of who I got where. If they don't have a campaign completed, I probably don't have them very deep into it.
As for Guild news, attained 2 more members after Wild. Pretty new to RP but as my guild page stated, I don't mind new roleplayers and I can teach of needed. As long as their not bumbling morons. I also had Wild recruit temporarily and she got this one guy who had a large vocabulary but had a problem with spelling. He was in for around 10 minutes, and it was true. His spelling was, to my sight, fine enough to mess with and wasn't moronic. But I don't know what the hell happened. He asked "do you control my movements and all?" And I was like, "No, that's all you..." and continued to explain something. He randomly chimed in, "You keep your assumptions" and promptly left the guild. Extremely confusing. I wish I had kept his username to inquire what exactly happened. But seriously, if he was offended by something during my explanation of guild policies, I don't want someone that volatile in my guild anyway. They got offended by something extremely random, what kind of stuff would they flip out over later?
Anyway, got a LOT of bites from my recruitment spam in Kamadan so I might make that my advertisement center. I want to try Rata Sum as well, it's high-traffic and if they have EoTn, it's a promise they have another campaign or more... Could be a good spot.

In other, less-ranty news;
Other than Elric, now Shadowphoenix built a small story that mends a little with my Vanguard. Should be fun. This is two people now, and this tells me that my Vanguard is thought-out enough for people to branch off of. That's awesome.
That's all for now, practically just woke up so I might have some added thoughts later.
Added:
*sigh*...
tl;dr version: When Shadow had to leave in an RP session, something must have broke in her brainparts. Concluding with an IC comment "I must depart" or OOC "my hubby came back with food, gotta go", would have done just fine but instead she makes her character flip out and stabs my character in the shoulder.
Really shadow, was that necessary?
November 6. 2008[edit]
God damnit. PvP is complete fail. Right when I need to unlock shit, the kurzicks can't AB and builds don't mean shit in RA. I've got the best warrior build for general PvP but I get butchered. No, I don't want to hear this "u suk lolol" because I doubt that's an issue. I'm no pro but I'm a couple steps above the average scrub.
This is bullshit.
When did Random Arenas stop being random? I shit you not, I was PvPing all day to get the damn Focused Anger for an imbagon and I only got a monk approximately three times. But the enemy team almost always had a healer in some form. Almost always a monk, and sometimes a N/Rt or Ritualist healer. I mean, what the fuck. This is not an exaggeration. This is what really happened. On the small chance I did get a monk, we were raped anyway.
Fuck you, PvP.
November 5. 2008[edit]
I totally voted for Obama. No, I'm not one of those white people who like to hide their opinions.
But this was my first year I was able to vote in an election so I'm saving the sticker to put on something that will actually last a little. I know the popular vote doesn't say much (as of last night Obama was only a 2% lead in the pop vote with something like 3.5million ahead of McCain) but it looked like he had almost double the electoral votes. Awesome.
I personally think it's a good shift in America, having a black president. It proves that, by a certain extent, we hurdled over the great obstacle that is racism. Sure it's not gone overnight because of a black president but I think it's a worthy shift in mindset.
Now we'll wait and see if Obama can put his money where his mouth is.
November 2. 2008[edit]
For SOME reason I got my Warrior into prophecies and through a LOT of it. At Thunderhead Keep right now, and I even went through the jungle missions O_O. Even Aurora Glade! INORITE? It's unlike me but I think boredom has it's cold, deathly grip upon me. I want to play Shizuma more but I really have nothing to do. I SHOULD get off my lazy ass and do Nahpui Quarter, to get closer to my Kurzick armor.
Anyway, Might archive at the end of December.
October 31. 2008[edit]
Holy lack of updates, batman! Nothing has been happening!
Well, shit has been happening but it's just been the same shit. So here's some highlights.
Farmed a 4th stack of ToT bags, amazingly enough. And I thought I was done at 3. But it was able to fund my Asuran armor stack for Shizuma. Now, I'm going to hold off on that vabbian and shoot for Kurzick next (which, without runes, will be extremely cheap at around 10-15k, I don't need to farm for that). I also need to start plopping my swords on even my non-melee heroes because I need to save a few spots. Hell, I run sabway on her anyway so it won't hurt. After or during my kurzick armor fund, I really need to try and equip my guild hall a little bit. Buy out all the 10k NPC's just to get them out of the way.
I got a member for my guild on the 28th. That's a hell of a highlight. And they're still with us O_O. They said (claimed) they were really excited about the Vanguard's base storyline. So, hopefully this will be a valued and longterm member. Even then, the Elric dudemanguy mentioned in the last entry, made his own RP guild to join up with the Vanguard. They haven't met ICly but it should make sense if you read what the Vanguard does and his storyline. Should be a good story to come. I wasn't expecting to build an alliance but this is a good basis for people who want to aid the overpowered Vanguard in demon-pwnage.
Speaking of roleplay, finally did some the other day. Not with my ally, but a previos OOK (Or GoD, whatever, some roleplaying alliance I was in before) that I helped a while ago and added because they were cool.
Her, and my member I roleplayed with. My new member is pretty good, they have near-perfect grammar but they just need to work on their clarity and general common sense while roleplaying. (You don't walk up to someone in real life and start spewing random shit... Generally.)
RANT TIME:
I don't like the friends list. I try to use it in it's most literal form and only add friends, y'know, people you talk to. But I've got people on my list that NEVER TALK TO ME. Seriously, why are they going to (allegedly) add me if they don't say one word to me? This might sound kind of Emo but I'm /so/ messaging some of the people as they come online to see if they REALLY have me added.
This is an annoyance that I've had for a while on other games.
However, on WoW I use the friends list a little differently. I use it more as a locater than what it's supposed to be. I'm not terribly popular regardless of how long I've been around and roleplayed (I'm content with simply being "reknown", people know Allein by name generally), but I still add a lot of the popular and not-so roleplayer so I can see where they are. (On WoW, it gives a person's name, level, class, and actual zone they're in). It's a little stalkerish but hey, I gotta go where the RP is these days. (And thanks to the recent update, WoW roleplayers are swimming in the new content more than roleplaying, damnit!)
One final little rant is my mother wanted to drag me to this allegedly haunted road after she gets off work (2am D:) but I was fuckin' mad because I wanted to get this years Halloween masks and stuff. But I was woken up at 3am THIS morning, which HAPPENED to be when Mad King showed up. After wrestling with the normal lag I get after AFKing for too long, I was able to get the Zombie Face Paint, and then the Lupine Mask a couple hours later. Then I slept some more. Came back and I had 3 lupine masks in my inventory, lawl. So I'm content with being dragged out on an (GHOSTS AREN'T FUCKING REAL, MOM) allegedly haunted area of our city. Psh.
That was longer than expected. Enjoy your Halloween, everyone.
October 27. 2008[edit]
Not much happened yesterday even though I was on GW all day.
So far I've farmed about 3 stacks of Trick-or-Treat Bags so far, And within the farms and other items I've made about 200k in all, possible more. Of course, not at one time and it's all been dumped into a guild hall NPC or armor for Shizuma, which she has a couple more sets of. She has Norn and Deldrimor now. I might go back and get the norn helm later but for now, I'm glad I omitted it because it was fucking EXPENSIVE. I had no idea I had to get fangs and claws for the shit.
I've got my eyes on Asuran next, the materials needed aren't so bad. So other than Vabbian, I've got all the expensive stuff. Thank you, permasin farming. I never thought I would have made so many armor sets in a somewhat short amount of time.
And I've spoken to Elric Coy in-game about my game, and the dude is a fucking genius. He doesn't shy away from mentioning that he has above 125 IQ (the top 10% in the country, apparently) but, he proved it easily. We spoke for around 2 hours (we both had to stop our farming because we type so fast and... a lot). And he asked a lot of questions, poking holes and seeing if my ideas still floated correctly. It was like an interview on how I run (or plan to run) my RP guild. I counted 4 different occassions where he helped me refine an aspect of my RP guild, and HE'S NEVER ROLEPLAYED BEFORE, short from building storylines behind his characters. He just never played it out.
Two of the biggest ones are as follows:
- He insinuated (he's intelligent, he said this without saying it directly) that he would deserve an officer spot if he did decide to hop in my Vanguard, and I tried to explain how Vanguard Officers are very serious business in my lore. They're often the most badass and reknown soldiers that are promoted to lead squads and be the first one in a battle, and the last one out. Vanguard officers are not the kind that stand in the backlines and point and yell "Kill those! Now go over there!"
But he directed me with a series of questions that A GW officer and a Vanguard officer are seperate, and even though He'd be an officer for the GUILD, he didn't have to necessarily be an officer for my VANGUARD. Holy shit. Brilliant motherfucker, this Elric is. I would never have figured that.
- Another Idea I had planned was using GC for OOC banter and organize IC sessions. But he brought upon the simply concept of using Ally chat (as we have no alliance) for the actual IC, and GC for what I already planned. Hot damn. I was planning to ignore ally chat altogether. But with this, I might not ever hop in an alliance, keep the chat all to ourselves O_O
So a public THANK YOU for my buddy Elric, who's helped me (and probably will in the future) with my RP guild. Still no members, but at least it'll be a slightly better place to RP in when I finally do.
October 25. 2008[edit]
Once upon a time, (well, pretty recently actually), I was in this CoF run with a warrior that had the coolest look ever. And with some drive, I mimic'd that look:
File:User Vanguard Shizuma Bone.PNG
Oh yes. Oh yes. Not just for halloween either, FO'EVA.
Too bad it's not her best Roleplaying suit. She's best in her ancients.
And since I'm spoiling the shit out of her I think I might make a "Misc" section on her page instead of just plopping it all on my Misc images page.
October 24. 2008[edit]
Sweet. This is my first real event that I've got a farmer character. Life is sweet. ~120 bags as I type this blog. Another hour or two I will have a full stack.
Added:
Gave my Resignation from Xen of Onslaught and my post went like this;
(and I'm not censoring the leader's username this time because it's not difficult to figure out who it is on your own)
I'll try to keep this short. Noteable word is "try".
Around the time of my rejoining with Boe as our new current leader, he brought up the point "This is a new and different XoO!" Yes. Yes it is. And sadly that's not a compliment. Not completely XoO's or Boe's fault. The alliance they joined is terrible, it's full of idiots, lunatics, and children. And it's really two things that brought me to this brink of quitting XoO:
Boe's contradiction in unfairness. He explained to me over vent that he was on "my side" regarding how I use language (cursing, cussing, foul, dirty, whatever), and more recently he basically stated if he gets ONE whisper about it, he'd kick me.
Don't you all think it's kind of fucked up how he says he's on my side but has his finger on the kick button?
The second point is the alliance, and not JUST because the constant whispers I get about some select words I use over alliance. They're idiots. What brought me to make this post is something that just infuriated me, someone used "rnt" for "aren't", purposefully. I did not adress it because I did not want to tack any more drama to my resignation. But seriously, there is -no- excuse for typing like that.
I'd rather leave peacefully than waiting for the next time I use a curse word over Alliance chat and get reported/kicked.
This -might- not be a permanent quit. Over a year ago when XoO had it's own series of divisions and alliance, I told myself this would be the last guild I'd ever join because it had everything: 18+ people, maturity, helpfulness, and the freedom to say whatever the FUCK I want, within the bounds of common law, obviously.
I still like XoO. I still like Boe even, I just think it was a kick in the nuts. Untill then, I'll go make my own self-placement guild and build upon that untill XoO gets to another, less-shitty alliance.
I hope I'm still allowed to frequent the forums and Vent.
A relatively drama-less, clean leave. The GWO alliance is terrible, which is sad given their reputation.
So my previous backup plans of creating my own goddamn guild are a reality. There's a one thing I fear:
- The ability to call for an alliance group for something immediately.
- Which will force me to rely on PuGs.
The obvious stuff like merchants (Can go to a city) and human interaction (I always say I H/H most of the game) aren't much of a problem with me. And any problems I do have I hope will be fufilled by getting a future alliance or, hell, MEMBERS.
Yea, so far I got the Xunlai Agent and Canthan Ambassador (Mistake btw, I thought the canthan guy was the one who offered entrance to Alliance battles), more to come since I'm not nearly finished farming the halloween trick or treat bags.

Lulz. 4 days past the day we were supposed to get our 'net cut off and looka me. Still posting. Might have been a bluff or it might have just been postponed so, not getting my hopes up too much. If I suddenly stop editing, you'll know what happened.
In the meantime, trying to muster up my massive boredom into something productive like getting that really annoying quest, An Unwelcome Guest done on my rit but the only help I get is USELESS help. I hate my alliance.
Speaking of which I used "language" again over AC and if my leader gets a whisper about it, just one more, he'll remove me from the guild. lawl. My Vanguard RP guild may come sooner than later. Now I got to decide if I should dump into guild hall NPC's or into my collector character. Will be a tough call. But I'm not kicked yet so, we'll see.
Added:
So I happened to Attain primeval for Shizuma after I looked at where she was in Nightfall (Horde of Darkness) and realized she was THREE missions away from endgame. I quickly hopped to my storage and found 40k, which is only 20k at minimum to get the armor (minus the helmet). So I Pushed her through, and sadly had to pay 6k out of the armor fund to get a run through Gate of Madness because I tried H/Hing it, and died. I tried it with allies, and failed. And I don't trust PuGs so I just paid a runner. It was worth it, because it worked. And got masters, to boot (I often avoid masters due to time wasting. Not in it for the titles, my derv excluded. Getting Protector of Cantha on her was accidental.)
So yea, I cleared my storage of charr carvings, (both kinds), elite assassin tomes, lockpicks, and was able to must around 86k, where I was able to buy the materials and runes easily. (After salvaging her sunspear armor).
That sets me WAY back from her vabbian armor but hey, the event drops haven't started yet and my warrior looks more badass than I've ever had a warrior.
October 19. 2008[edit]
Well, wrapped things up with my homies on Warcraft and posted my impending AFK doom on a thread at my XoO guild forums for Guild Wars. (Read Oct. 18 entry) Wrapped a lot of things up on Gw, minus creating a whole new character, whom I had some decent starting fun with. So, if the balls behind my household are able to keep up to their threats of shutting the internet off, I'm well prepared and mentally seperated. Half of me expects they won't hold up and we'll get an extra week but the other half knows better.
I'll miss this blog for however long I'll be offline.
Current proud that my dumbass finally realized I could shrink my main V symbol and make a signature out of it:

Before, I thought I had to go in Paint and make a 19x19 one but no, just resize the shit. Duh.
In other news, Namura has replaced Nisai, and regrettably has a very similar name to Namuen. I've always wanted to recreate my old bow ritualist so I just needed some provokation. (My Oct 16 entry explains my annoyances that my perma-pre wasn't a good boredom reliever anymore). Now, what I need to do is get this ritualist some EoTn armor and that will automatically click in my head that she's too accomplished too delete. (Got all the way to HzH with the last one, NO idea what posessed me to delete her). So far, he damage is so-so. Got a couple different bow builds. The one you see on her page and a splinter/barrage (of course) which does a bit less damage when I'm in areas where enemies have the intelligence not to clusterhug each other. For now, she's at level 15 and will work on her when I come back.
Till then, I'll be at the mercy of movies and xbox 360 games and after that's dried up, I'm going to be an extremely bored asshole. Guess I gotta figure out what I can do different on Half Life 2. Perhaps plowing through levels with a pistol. Finishing the atrocity that is Quake 4? Finally get a damn level 60 on Mass Effect? I dunno. I might finally be able to finish some of these goals now that I've somewhat seperate myself from the addiction that is Guild Wars and WoW, knowing that my internet will be shot in a day.
Coulda come at a better time. I have an entire stack of charr carvings I was planning to sell for Halloween collectors in Ascalon. Damnit. And I was prepared to put my permasin into more use that farming golds and make a killing off of the event drops. Damnit.
So, at least untill internet comes back OR am able to mooch off a friends internet and post again, much everyone.
October 18. 2008[edit]
Guh. Internet will be shut off in a couple days. Not going to go into intricate detail on here because It would sound like "whining" or "emo" to everyone on the internet, where anonimity gives everyone this mindset of saying whatever they want about others. And believe me, I've gone over the scenario in my head and there's no way I can explain my home life without it sounding "whiny" or "emo" to others.
All I'll say is that there's one or two people in my household that doesn't have jobs who should and the brains behind us all have to cut out an amenity to get by (and further down the road "one" will be "many").
So yea. Not a goodbye.
October 16. 2008[edit]
I was going to make this a section on my Misc page, but this works just as well.
Ladies and gentlefags, I give you my own character commentary. Listed from the order that my Character Bar gives it, I will comment on all things about that particular characters. How I feel about them, what I think about them, ect.
Huntress: I can easily say I'm not proud of the name, and would immediately vote for a name change if ever possible. Surely my oldest character to date, debateably my best, before EotN came out and my ranger dethroned her. Now she's kind of collecting dust somewhat, I do odds and ends and would prefer it if I could must up the patience and finish Eye of the North with her (She's got everywhere else, damnit.)
For roleplay, she's gone through some rewrites. She used to be just human, a worshipper of all gods including abaddon. I made her a Margonite later and abolished the name "Huntress" because it's fucking stupid.
Nisai Oril: No real opinion other than I might eventually just delete her again. No patience for a permapre currently.
One neat trivia tidbit, is I got some names mixed up. Technically Nikki should be named Nisai Oril. From my days of Starcraft Roleplaying, I had this runaway princess named Nisai Oril who shortened her name to Nikki to make herself less obvious. It worked, and unlike many of those stories out there she stayed hidden from her previous life, minus some close encounters with land-scouring guards.
So, I will not name another character Nisai Oril and probably vouch for a page delete later, in the event I want to wipe out yet another permapre in room for something more productive.
(Farming on the perma to level isn't even a good boredom reliever anymore.)
Shizuma: A lot of her trivia-based information can be found on her page. She's about my tenth warrior I've made, the reasoning found on an earlier blog entry. But finally, with a collection of swords, three armor sets, rank 2 survivor, over a million experience, a collection of elites at her disposal, I have finally attained a warrior I probably will never delete. She's too accomplished. Before, I would do the same build, the same dumb shit and get bored with the character. But this time, I learned from my mistakes.
I am sort of bored but it's not really Shizuma's fault, more like I'm burned out of guild wars and just waiting for the halloween/christmas events to pass so I can go play something else for a while.
Hasin: Neat little tidbit. She was designed after a build I discovered on PvX, and it was the best damn build I've come across for a PvE assassin.
Hasin is about my third or fourth (and final) attempt at an assassin, I could never get them right. A decent build really fixed that for me.
It wasn't untill recently (~1 month around this post) I finally decided to go permasin and see what all the fuss was about. She jumped from 300k exp to nearly 3 million in a month worth of farming. With breaks in between, of course.
For roleplay, she's a very neat character that I need to flesh out a great deal more.
But with two armor sets and a capability to fill in a PvP assassin slot, she will never be deleted.
Nikki: As mentioned, her name is actually Nisai Oril (A name I recycled on numerous warriors, much to my idiocy) on roleplaying terms. As mentioned above, the final Nisai Oril might be deleted soon and will fix that little split problem.
Nikki was designed from level 1 to be a very serious Eye Of The North character, at first it was because of the armor. (To which I gained easily). Deep down I also knew that after a couple plays through EoTn I'd get extremely bored with it (expressed in previous entries), so I figured I should do the best and first on one character, Nikki was it. I designed her roleplaying story around it, even. Which will be soon fixed because that's really not the history I originally had. She is a runaway from another land, not an abandoned infant.
Overall, I consider her a main, right next to my dervish.
Namuen: A long time ago I created a paragon when they were really badass. When Nightfall came out. For reasons I do not recall, I deleted for something else (I have a bad habit with this), and remade a few months later. The character SUCKED and deleted very shortly after reaching level 20.
I honestly have no idea what I was expecting to do with Namuen when I made her. I think I accepted the fact that I will not be a singer, but rather a spear-chucker and do my own thing. It's worked out fairly well.
She's my most developed storyline-wise, next to my dervish and Nikki. Her trivia section mentions only H, but Nikki's history is currently unwritten. So on GW-wiki terms, Namuen has my longest written history. Very proud of the result and wish I could roleplay her more often.
Theresa: I've had a terrible habit of deleting MM's I've had in the past, too. An odd discovery I've made is that as soon as I get some kind of faction armor, I consider that character too accomplished to delete. Such is the case here. Even though I have done very little with Theresa, she has Norn armor and that immediately shuts off any desire to delete.
Tomes helped get my Flesh Golem back. I do not recall what idiotic thought process led me to delete the necromancer I had that actually cap'd Flesh Golem manually.
Anyway, that's about it. Other than AB and other tidbits I don't play her much.
Alitosh: Guh. Never could get mesmers right. Not sure if it was the lack of elites or my terrible timing that I can't interrupt a damn thing for shit, but I attempted a pure degen mesmer before and it was extremely boring and I was very weak. I got a little better thanks, once again, to PvX.
As roleplaying is concerned I designed her from the start to be based off my WoW-RP character Allein. Sadly I have not been able to roleplay her very much. Her exp is still floating over 150,000 so that proves that not only do I not even play her normally, I don't have that many areas explored to roleplay AT.
I did somehow muster enough patience to get asuran armor for her... But I must admit, it looked better on the wiki armor page than it does on her in-game. I was expecting a trenchcoat type thing but instead I get a huge stiff mass for a dress. It's ew. But tolerable.
General Synopsis:
Huntress: Nightfall/Factions unlocked, my 1st main, but now primarily used for roleplaying.
Nisai Oril: Permapre that is looking at future deletion.
Shizuma: Various collector that I would much prefer to roleplay more. Possibly my 3rd main, and extremely spoiled.
Hasin: Nowadays, my farmer. Has some of Nightfall but would prefer to try and dig deeper into the atrocity that is factions.
Nikki: Eye of the North, 2nd main character. History looking at a rewrite to a more accurate version.
Namuen: Almost pure roleplay, not very deep into anything.
Theresa: Minion Master for AB, possible future SS. Generally just for roleplaying.
Alitosh: Pure roleplay. I don't have much patience for normal mesmer play.
October 15. 2008[edit]
Hopping on WoW for a short amount of time to get myself familiar with the harbor and barbar shop. The shop is genius. One of my characters accidentally had earrings (because they were goddman invisible to me upon character creation. Gold, shiny, next to her white skin and shiny gold hair). But finally was able to remove them. Also, before I deleted Imrein a long time ago her hair was actually black. I have no idea why I made it gold. I was able to dye it as well. Goodie goodie.
Allein is now more cute than she was before, with a ponytail. She just had sexy long hair before but now she's a different level of attractiveness with "cute". Not sure it fits given her story. Oh well, time will tell.
October 13. 2008[edit]
If a tree falls down in the woods but noone is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?
Yes. Whether or not there is a human around, vibrations are still made. Critters, ants, buts, animals, birds, might all still be around to hear and feel the tree falling.
Stop trying to sound intelligent with your philosophical bullshit that's had the same answer for years. People keep trying to look smart by spouting these outdated questions that supposedly have multiple answers when it really doesn't. They ask these things to try and distract people from their hidden idiocy.
October 12. 2008[edit]
Hit a slight snag. Just kind of mumbling around untill event items start dropping for me to farm the shit out of. Doing CoF runs on Shizuma to get her Deldrimor rank up so I can get the armor as soon as I touch down on the Central Transfer Chamber. But getting there is a bitch. EoTn lost it's spark after a couple times. It's just annoying now.
The runs around the place really tune down the annoyance though, gotta admit. It's a bit better when I can just zone to where I need to go when I need to do it as opposed to fighting through ten zones and getting my ass kicked by wacked up raptor patrols and over-aggro.
I need to keep reminding myself of the above fact because I'm still scarred of trying to fight my way to Rata Sum but I DON'T NEED TO ANYMORE.
But yea.
Also was dubbed a semi-judge for Shadow's Create a proffession contest. Wyn was having some troubles or something so I happily stepped in and gave my input and judgements. I wonder if I get paid.
Added:
Okay, I honestly don't know what it is about my warrior this time but I'm just going nuts on the elite skills. Out of ALL I've done, this is a list of elites I capped just because I happened to be in the proper area:
- I love this skill. It's a shame I might never use it.
- I hunted this one down because I wanted to see how good it was. It's awesome.
- This right here was the first elite skill I ever capped when I began playing guild wars. And hey, it's not bad to boot. Especially if I decide to go all-energy attacks (But I love my Barbarous Slice and Gash Combo too much at the moment.) Still, Warrior's endurance holds a special spot in my heart and list of acheivements as "First elite ever".
- I think I unlocked this one via tome untill I discovered; It's not that great in PvE.
- Because I think it would just be useful to have.
- I was in the area questing.
I have a theory on why I'm capping these things so much. I believe it's because my build is pretty finalized so I don't need to buy anything else. So I'm mass-capping while cap sigs are still cheap. I guess my mindset figures, "Cheap caps, so what the fuck, let's go use them". I dunno. It's kind of neat to have this arsenal.
But none of my characters (with the possible exception of my dervish) have nearly as many elites as I've gotten on Shizuma. I might as well cap the hammer and axe ones too and call her my elite collector as well as armor and weapons. Haha. We'll see.
October 10. 2008[edit]
1:30am in the morning. I'll consider it the 10th.
Listened into Blade Radio for the second time in my entire life. My bud Secksy was spewing on about it in whispers so I figured, fuck it... All I was doing was farming anyway I figure I'd attend.
All I know of blade radio is what I remember the last time. A dude-DJ and people were QQing and bitching about Jade Isle or some PvP related bullshit that I didn't care about. But the music was good.
Music was still good, because it was upon request. GW people don't have bad taste, excluding my friend who demanding really, really, stupid shit like The Man/Woman song and the Toast song.
Also people. Don't ask DJ Tesla to sing. Just don't.
It was an overall good time. Finally, a reason to use my golem tonics to stick out a little.
I was my usual abrasive self and unexpectedly got called out (an involuntary "shout out", if you will...) and she played a bunch of machinegun and glass-breaking wave sounds on my name. Hilarity. Secksy said I was trolling but I was just being my normal jackass self. The way I spoke to Tesla and people around is the EXACT SAME WAY I talk to my friends, guildies, and allies. So I wasn't doing shit on purpose.
And a personal shout-out to the people of guild wars: Turn your fucking sensors on. Jesus christ.
October 9. 2008[edit]
Grr. GW needs to hurry up and start halloween drops so I have something to farm for.
Anyway, Shizuma. I did a lot in one day with her. Yesterday I went from Istan Island, into SSC, into Vabbi, and up to Gate of Desolation (Not the mission, did that this morning). And I was mapping some of the way o_O. But, finally attained Ancient armor and thought I'd replace the generic armor pics with actual in-game photos of her when I actually get the armor.
My eyes are currently on, either Kurzick armor or hop into EoTn and start that up. Not looking forward to either. They say getting to HzH is easy but you gotta go through some of the most annoying missions on the planet. (I'm looking at you, Vizunah Square. Fuck you.) And Eye of the North was fun the first couple of times and then it becomes a chore. And hell, I want THREE of FOUR EotN armors. That means doing is all at least twice and some partials. (Well, okay, excluding Deldrimor. I can join CoF runs for that.) But that still leaves me with Asuran and Norn that I will need to get.
Since EoTn is slightly more annoying I might haul into factions first.
October 7. 2008[edit]
Holy shit, I was banned from the Guild Wars Guru forums for a sales post violation, early bumping. Damn. I was just replying to what someone said, I only "bumped" it two threads. Coulda Warned me first, jesus christ.
And onto the guild drama. I wanted to reply to this guys massive post on our actual forums but I couldn't say anything nicely. Honestly. So I'm going to post it here and reply to everything in the only way I am able.
I was going to censor "XoO" to keep some anonymous but I've mentioned my guild name too many times before. So I'll just sensor the names. They'll be in "---'s". (The leader is referred to a three-letter shortened version so you'll see 3 --- often).
There is something going on here that I really should talk to all of the officers about. Me and this guy are not getting along and I am trying hard to get away from the guy and apparently the leader of XoO:GW is his bodyguard. I am having continuous run ins with this guy, interjecting rude comments and swearing when speaking to me.....as exampled in this thread and in screenshots of his daily activities in XoO.
A couple times, sure. But recently I had been trying to ask nicely about a conversation he was having in guild chat (PUBLIC) and he fired at me, claiming I was "butting in" (his exact words). I was trying to be nice and he thought it was too late for that. So who's the asshole here? It's not me this time.
I know our awesome leader is gonna leave some huge post with gigantic words and massive spin, but the bottom line is this guy is constantly butting in on things I am doing and being rude. --- [h]as continued to ignore it for some reason and even blame me for it after showing him screenshots. I have no "personal" interest in vanguard except to get him to stop interjecting in my affairs with rude comments.
The leader hasn't ignored it. I've spoken to him on Vent numerous times and he sees it as it's not really me at fault. If he's lieing, well that's on him. I have explained to the leader about the event of me leaving or being kicked, I will not be heartbroken. (My backup plans are in another blog post!). And I'm not "interjecting" in anything, I just wanted to know what he and another guildie were talking about. It was innocent as shit.
There was yet another incidence of me trying to carry on a conversation with someone and he butted in and then blamed me for the situation. I simply tried to carry on my conversation with the person and ignore vanguard.
Yes, I blamed you because you were being FUCKING RUDE. AFTER I was being nice! I sent him a PM to avoid GC-drama, "I am trying to be nice but you're blowing me off?" Which is, in fact, a pretty nice way of saying that especially for me.
--- has now come to the leader of ---- (guild name) to defend Vanguard and come after me.
The leader wasn't coming after him. He was addressing his rudeness.
In my opinion --- has something against me. Maybe my flaws are too much for him. Maybe he just doesn't like me. Maybe something is going on with him and Vanguard. Regardless of the reason. This Vanguard and me situation has gotten to ridiculous proportions.
Something going on with me and the leader, lolwut? Really, was that insinuation necessary? And the situation, in my opinion, isn't that serious. Some apologies would work. Let's start with him, "I'm sorry for saying a lot of really obvious and stupid shit on AC and ignoring you in GC." Yea.
I simply want this kid to shut up and leave me be. I have ignored him in vent, I have ignored him in Guild Wars. I don't see or hear what he says. He took the time to PM me and bother me. I have simply ignored him.
I'm sorry. It's a fucking MMO. People talk. People encounter each other. Ignoring a guildie/alliance makes things confusing. Yes, I PM'd him, trying to figure out WTF. He is a very confused guy, thinking everyone's against him. Well, I feel the same way too because of my abrupt nature. But instead of abrupt, this guy is an idiot.
I have also tried to move on in the forums but he keeps at it, as exampled here.
Yet for some reason, Boe has CONTINUED to allow this harassment and the behavior from this kid........ THE SAME EXACT BEHAVIOR THAT GOT ME DEMOTED.
Eh, won't explain this.
My remaining acct will probably be kicked out of XoO for speaking against Boe, whatever, I expect it.
He left first.
In my opinion --- is not doing this guild a service. He is a tyrant and a dictator. He does things without the counsel of the officers. He does things that he alone feels are right. He ignores the officers and members when they speak out against decisions he makes. He treats everyone like they are less intelligent than him.
Haha. No? Counsel of the officers? There's at most, like, two of them online. They get on vent often. He doesn't. The leader probably spoke with them on vent about various topics. And in the month I've been around I have not seen any "decisions" or comments against them. And finally, no, he does not treat everyone like that. He's been extremely diplomatic from what I've seen.
--- is not a leader. He is an administrator. He is a smart guy, who is good at paperwork and organization. When comes to people he is seriously lacking. The officers of this guild should discuss this. I have talked to several of them. To some degree, I won't say completely, but so some degree all of them agree. They just won't say nothing.
Over-net mind-reader are we now? No, that's just the inner hope that he thinks everything will be alright to his favor. World doens't work like that, homie.
If I get kicked for having the balls to say that you run this guild like crap, oh well.
Leader isn't like that. I've been relatively outspoken and he really doesn't mind it. I've said things that would warrant a kick in a non-adult guild. Yes, we're fucking adults, man.
You have done me dirty ---. You have lied to me about everything you have said to me. You have ignored what is going on in this situation, you have continually gone after me since the day that I went off in AC.
For those confused (If I have any readers at all), apparently this guy went off in AC cursing at people "fuck you" "fucking retard" and stuff like that, which is a big no-no in this alliance. He got demoted. And apparently, he's had a target on him because his rudeness surpasses mine, even. Hell, at least I have the capability to be nice at times. Just, not this time because this whole post was nothing but an attack against me. I can't reply nicely to it.
I have done my best to be a more helpful, more involved, more decent member of XoO since the day of that situation. You told me, "oh man I love you. You are a very important member of XoO. This demotion thing is very temporary.....blah blah blah"
Everything you do or say is to make you look good. EVERYTHING you do is for you. You do nothing for the betterment of this guild. You do not deserve to be the leader of this division. You are a two faced liar who is only out for yourself and the people that have you by the balls or the people you want to impress. Everyone else is dispensable.
All that and you want to come back to the guild someday? Are you kidding me?
I am not quitting XoO, so don't manipulate this as me quitting. I am sick of being treated the way you are treating me and I am telling you. I fully plan to be back in XoO on January 1st, 2009, as we agreed and as ----- (an officer) witnessed, unless of course you are lying about that too and don't talk to your officers about it and just don't let me in.
If this gets me kicked.... Good bye XoO. I love this guild and I am sorry if I have to go.
Sounds a lot like a quit to me. Especially after assaulting the leader like that.
I do NOT want to talk to --- or vanguard about this. DO NOT PM ME in game or out. DO NOT EMAIL ME, don't talk to me over AC, nothing.
If any other officers want to talk to me, I will talk to them. Only them.
I am not checking these forums again until this crap gets hashed out. So, talk your heart out.....I ain't listening.
Way to be an adult. It's always better to be diplomatic and diffuse the tension before it becomes a bitter hate. And oddly enough, I'm really not angry about this. (Maybe because it's one of the many occasions where I'm right and one of the rare occasions where someone else sees that I am right).
And he wants to talk only to the officers. Sure, because they certainly know the entire story, amirite? No. Only one of them really does.
The sad part about Vent is people are not as honest as they could be. It is very possible that the leader is lieing about being somewhat on my side, I can feel it in ma' gut. But people are too fucking pussy about hurting people's feelings when they could use a good reality check. Oh well.
The leader hasn't seen this post yet so, we'll see what he has to say to me later.
October 6. 2008[edit]
Okay, so here's the deal and I'm not gonna explain why. My membership with XoO is slightly strained. Some people can't handle my abrupt nature apparently (even in my attempts of improvement). Therefore, I have a backup plan.
I will be creating a roleplaying guild based on my Vanguard theme. I have a semi-website for it. I wish I could just go ahead and make the guild page now, but I have yet to speak to XoO's leader about my recent problems. But anyway, even if it doesn't make it to guild form, I'm just glad I have a fallback in case this extends to other games.
(It's already made a slight leak-in-reference on WoW. The Vanguard Commander was Allein's (my WoW main) mentor.)
Kinda excited about it. Revamped my main page. Cut out my personal info and migrated some of the roleplaying stuff to my main userspot.
Many edits will be made in the future of the extremely minor-variety. Adding sentances, fixing typoes. Etc. Trying to spruce it up. Right now I want to find out (if possible) to get the "V" symbol in a thumbnail, but smack dab in the middle of the first paragraph, newspaper-style. Probably will never be able to.
Added:
Current guild drama averted. My Vanguard Guild creation will have to wait.
October 4. 2008[edit]
Damn. On my last legs with Shizuma's survivor. Might only make it to rank 2. Thing is, I'm just finding excuses to not do the Irontoe's lair for brawling. That's bad. Seriously, I walked up to Kilroy to start it and just minimized to do something else. This blog post included.
Ah well. Rank 2 isn't terrible.
Added:
Ugh, people are terrible. Not game related.
Was reviewing a couple of movies (Might link them later) at Imdb... Afterward, reading some of the "best" and "hated" tiers of reviews. I think it's terrible how people can be so "O.M.G. this is the worst movie I've ever seen!" Apparently they don't watch a whole lot of movies. I just can't stand reading the reviews when people just shoot down the movie without much consideration. I was reading a "hated" review on Disturbia and one review, literally said "I'm 45 minutes in right now and debating whether or not to eject the CD." Fuck me sideways, they didn't even watch the thing. If a line starts with "Worse movie of all time", I skip that review because they obviously don't give anything a chance.
To date, the only movie I could not watch 15 minutes of is Gardfield. All other movies I've sat through, (Excluding "the cable guy", but it was mostly for boredom and and not the quality of the movie) so nobody has an excuse to be entirely too harsh on things.
Though, to date, I've not rated anything a 10 at all. Though, Will Farell's "Stranger than Fiction" just might get my 10.
October 2. 2008[edit]
So, yea, deleted my elementalist because I barely bothered with her except to AB or RA. And I can do any ol' thing in those anyway so I won't miss her too bad. (I'll miss the damage of SH but I will survive.)
Anyway, I was fooling around in character creation and came across this hairstyle, and Shizuma from Strawberry Panic immediately popped in my head. And since that was such a wonderful Anime, I figure I'd pay homage to the character by naming my collector warrior after her. If I ever roleplay her, the personality might be similar as well. (Lesbianism might be included, don't judge). So yea, my previous plans of just collecting armor has expanded to weapons and shields as well. I'm more worried about the armor than anything. The one saving grace is I won't be runing any of it which can save 5-10k immediately. Another good point is I don't care if the weapons are maxed. If storage becomes a problem, I'll start equipping heroes at random. Oh, and one final cool point: I might just omit the helmets overall, except the Templar one. Because it's cool looking. And the Ancients. If I can ever press that far into Nightfall. It's well down the road.
In similar news, got Shizuma from 1 to 20 in a day, thanks to brawling. Gonna start doing more runs and actually use these scrolls I've been getting as drops. I'll miss the 400g profit from one of them but the rewards are totally worth it.
Added:
I will be attempting rank 3 Survivor before I both getting runs to other places where I can get the armors. But, like my paragon, I'm pretty happy with rank 1 so I won't be heartbroken if I lose patience.

Look at me! I'm being all festive!- Vanguard 22:08, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Halloween is my favorite holiday. My plans for the past few years were to dress up darkly and scare people on the streets but they come with their fucking parents, damnit. Well, I did dress in an orange jumpsuit and creep a few people out by pretending to be an escaped inmate or something. A kid even approached me as I dodged behind a trashcan, I was like "fuck off!" It was hilarious.
First time changing my Charbar into a theme, too. I may build a christmas one, too. Even though I hate what the holiday has become.
Anyway, went bankrupt buying a Sabway for my Ranger's heroes. I tear through shit like I've never seen, even did a couple Vanquishes with them. Fun stuff.
I want to Raptor farm a bit more and get my assassin's exp to 2 mil+. That'll be somethin'.
September 29. 2008[edit]
Migrated individual histories of my characters to their respective pages. I also added a PvE only skill template to Nikki and Namuen, because they're really the only two that have enough PvE skills worth listing. I think Theresa to some extent. I'll go check.
Haha. She has Drunken Master and Ursan Blessing. Yea, not worth wasting a near-empty template over her. (I do remember putting her through EoTn only to get the armor).
I also had an entire blog post yesterday but I continually forgot to enter it. I went and watched Heroes with my mother, slept for 12 hours, I come back and to edit it in and it said "data was lost" so I pretty much forgot what I was talking about, EXCEPT THIS:
PvX has the worst wiki community I've ever seen. I had 3 paragraph sdescribing why before the mentioned loss but seriously. They must have no rules governing NPA.
Everyone there seems to have the delusion of grand balance so when they think a skill sucks, it must suck. Comments on EVERY talk page don't vary far from "You suck, your build sucks, fail less, ur doin it rong" and a MOUND of other internet memes. Seriously, not one page there lacks some kind of insult to something.
If anyone frequents this blog (I won't be making blog posts "minor edits" anymore, see if that helps traffic, unless for the obvious stuff like typos) you would know my various melee-ranger builds. Well, my rating was removed at one point because I only used it on the nublar island of Istan. Well, damnit, it still worked deep into both Prophecies and Nightfall. Beat prophecies using a scythe most of the way through, and most of Nightfall with an axe. It's a good build, damnit. And people still state "it has no advantage over warrior". And they won't even explain that arguement. You exploit Expertise which gives a slight advantage, making energy skills spammable.
Anyway. Before I lost the "info", I was talking about something else. Oh well. 'Till next time.
September 27. 2008[edit]
Finally got that fucking Glacial Griffon. I just used my permasin build. Took a while because of the low damage and I don't have as much energy in that area. But, took around, I'd say about 6-8 minutes. Not too bad.
I still Kinda need it on both my Dervish and Ranger... My derv more because I might eventually use the running build I've got for D/A. Which has the "I Am Unstoppable!" skill with it.
But yea. I can't exactly go permasin on non-sins. So, I gotta figure out something. Simply "Running away from the spirits" won't do. He recasts them. Grr.
September 26. 2008[edit]
It's both sad and awesome. Within days, my assassin went from around 300,000 exp to over 1 million exp. Gotta love raptor farming. I mentioned in an earlier entry that I would hold off on the farming untill events but it's a GREAT boredom reliever. Not to mention the whoreish amount of exp I get and random assortment of loot. Not as profitable but it's a good time waster untill the real stuff starts dropping.
In other game news, loaded up Oblivion again to try out an argonian caster. Basically the same shit I did before multiple times, only, a lizard. Like I did with my vampire caster guy, I'm going to try to hold back from leveling as much as I'm able so I can whiz through Shivering Isles without much difficulty. Hopefully. What'll drive me nuts is the lack of profitable loot so I'll be unable to afford better equipment. Unless I level.
On the flip side, my nub-skillz one-shot shit so it's not all bad.
Added:
Running my mesmer to Rata Sum to leech and take advantage of the double rep weekend. Maybe I can get her Asuran armor before she even bothers with actually playing in EotN. I need to get Alitosh to at least 13,000 rep. Doing the missions for the Asura will easily get the rest.
Added:
z0mg moar mezmer stuff. I basially got ranks 1-4 from leaching alone. I planned on doing the missions to make the rest up but I figure I'll continue leaching as my sanity holds up. It's balanced with the concept of "Something for nothing" with "I REALLY hate getting to the Asuran missions." The missions aren't bad but the massive shit you go through to get to them. Seriously, the quests leading up to the missions are harder than the missions themselves. I mean fuck. You find Gadd, and he makes your ass tromp through a Swamp to kill glowing Ettins. You locate Renk only for him to tell your dumbass to go back and get the other guys. Blimm makes you wander around pointlessly. Ugh. Oola is also nuckin' futs.
Added:
Figured out what my problem with warriors was. My problem comprised of two things:
- Always used the same build.
- Always went for one type of armor.
As soon as I gained that one armor, I was done with that character. I barely played the character. So, I have a new plan:
To Do List. Unless you're blind, clicking that should immediately show you a series of warrior pictures. I plan on creating a warrior for the mere goal of collecting armor.
I only see three problems with this plan:
- Gotta be deep into factions to get the kurzick, and deeper for elite kurzick.
- It's easy to get rank 5 in one of the Gwen titles. But it's a little more time consuming to get rank 5 in just about all of them.
- Vabbian is fucking EXPENSIVE. That'll rip more money out of me than elite armor.
Luckily Droknar's is an Easy run so getting Templar won't be difficult. I'm not entirely worried about some of the elite versions because they're not much different. I might even cross the elite kurzick off my list.
If I'm able to accomplish this, it will be a neat show-off character.
Right now this slot is taken by my brother's level 5 twinked dervish (funded by me, obviously), and he only plays Guild Wars when he's bored with all else so... This is further down the road. I have to wait for him to say absolutely "You can kill my derv". (Which sucks because I sunk 20k in that damn thing). But it eventually payed for itself as I discovered raptor farming soon after I twinked his dervish.
September 25. 2008[edit]
So anyway my original plan was to make an elite ritualist skill like, a "graduation" symbol for Namuen. (This works under the theory that elites signify great accomplishment or rank, like her Cruel Spear signifies that she's a formidable sunspear.) But I found a couple that would be wonderful to have even during roleplay-training. I'm not sure how I will justify her having a powerful ability only 1/4th through her training. (She's only been a student for around a year. Slightly less. I'm also working under the normal 4-year school deal.) I could just fast foreward. I dunno. GW's timeline is so screwy...
I wanted an aggressive spirit but Wanderlust is way out of my reach so I've got my eyes on Preservation and Spirit Light Weapon.
September 24. 2008[edit]
Got Nikki the last few missions of prophecies so if I ever feel the compulsion or boredom to help guildies and friends, I'll actually be able to aid throughout prophecies.
I still hate the campaign. But I feel about proph the same way I do about guilds: Hate them, but believe everyone should have one.
Well, with some rewording.
September 22. 2008[edit]
Gewd. Newz.
I now have at least one character that is able to access pretty much every prophecies mission. Now, I hate prophecies with a passion but I knew deep down I should have at least one of my characters deep into it, in order to help current and future friends, guildies, and allies. Now I generally pass up the option to help others because I'm a lazy-solo-playing-asshole, but I do on occassion help my fellow man. Aurora Glade however can go right on ahead and fuck itself. Hate that goddamn mission. As I do most prophecies ones. Except the early ones. Because they're easy.
But into the jungle and further they just get annoying.
(My Dervish has the ring of fire and some of the shiverpeaks missions but overall she doesn't count because she doesn't have the entire jungle or any of the desert)
Aggression aside, I'm STILL proud of having one character all up in Proph's ass. Still got the last few missions to go (Currently at Iron Mines) but for the most part, I got most of prophecies missions open for future use.
This little spree originally started when I needed to get to the Falls for the MOX quest reward. Turns out it was only around 3 missions away from D'Alessio Seaboard. Took around an hours worth of H/Hing to get to where I needed. Relatively simple. I figured, I was in the jungle already, might as well get her to the desert.
Ugh. The Desert. Those missions suck, too. Terrible.
Moar Aggression aside, can't wait for Halloween. Moar raptor farming.
September 21. 2008[edit]
Turns out Raptor farming really isn't profitable without event items or when your asura rank is high enough to where 50-160 points a run... really doesn't do much. Yes, Grogs are still dropping but I went a few runs without any of them and I only got like, 200g worth of whites. Sure, not a bad bounty for 2-4 minutes worth of work but I'd rather do something else like, Missions.
Winding down with GW again, which sucks. I want to roleplay more but now that I was kicked, I haven't RP'd for a second. And XoO's alliance is getting on my nerves. Everytime I cuss, no matter how innocent, I always get like two whispers "don't cuss plz." So I go, what the fuck, this is an 18+ alliance. Not children. Either there are some prissy bitches or a good few people are lieing about their age.
I was also feeling joyfully juvenile one time after someone said something about penetration and all I typed was "LOL PENETRATION" and nothing else. Soon after, a whisper "no sex content plz". They didn't even say it the proper way like "sexual" so that tells me they're younger... than they would like to be.
I love my XoO and I have said numerous times that it would be the only real guild I'll ever join again. But that promise is looking more and more distant.
I don't think I'll be able to find another adult guild of XoO's Calibur(re?). I might just make a roleplaying guild myself and go from there.
September 19. 2008[edit]
In my 26+ months of playing, I have finally made a permasin farmer. For the first time ever... I was able to go out and make my own shit.
Previously, I just played normally and let money come to me. But now, I can raptor farm and gain a sufficient boost in funding. Not to mention event items, golds, and lockpicks.
But not all is fine and glorious. I'm still learning. This is a hilarious thought now, but my first run: I only killed 4 raptors and then died. Two runs after this I killed around 5-7. But after getting some timing right and by watching a guy do one run, I then killed 14 in the next run, and actually stayed alive. Finally, I am able to kill 25~ish... But I'm not able to take on the boss very well. If it wouldn't flee so damn much I'd be able to kill it.
Staying alive is no longer my issue. Now I just need to corner the raptors properly and all will be well in the kingdom.
Currently shipping all the golds I get to Nikki because she's now 9 items away from Seeker of Wisdom.
September 18. 2008[edit]
Vampirism. Vampiric Touch. Vampiric Bite. Vampiric Gaze. Vampiric Spirit. Order of the Vampire.
My previous statement that there was no In-Game Lore to support the existance of Vampires, was incorrect.
September 17. 2008[edit]
Uneventful. So I just commented on some of the CAP crap, and also posted builds to all of my characters. As I sorted through them, I realized not much was secret about them so, steal away. Especially my ranger ones because those came from PvX, except for a slight few tweaks and some attribute changing. But all the builds I posted on the character's respective pages are my current versions.
But I did make damn sure I let people know how my paragon build worked. I built that myself because the folks at PvX, apparently, think paragons are only good at being a screecher or something. If only they saw my DPS. Sure, there's little to no support but fuck that, I hit like a truck. The skills switch around pretty often for different situations so I like that. Keeps me on my toes. Makes me think "Alright, what am I about to face? Minions? Holy Spear it is..." And somesuch.
But anyway. Page is at 31kb. I might stretch it out a little because this is my favorite blog page to date. Got lots of good, solid, and long posts here.
September 16. 2008[edit]
Shameless Self Promotion: I need Diessa Chalices for my Paragon! Taking any donations!
That out of the way, most of the money that I /was/ saving for that just went into my elementalist. So here's my odd little attempt at a melee-mentalist. Won't be submitted to PvX because, well, YOU try fighting in high level areas with this thing. No, don't. Just plug in something like this when you're helping on starting isles or something. I've seen meleementalists before, but when I asked about them (Around PvX) since there are no more around, I was more ridiculed than anything. So shit. I made my own.
Frosty Melee-mentalist | |||||||||
Elementalist / Warrior | |||||||||
Water Magic | 12+2+1 | ||||||||
Energy Storage | 6 | ||||||||
Swordsmanship | 11 | ||||||||
|
Equipment: Icy Elemental Sword of Fortitude. Shield isn't worth mentioning at the moment because it has NO complimentary mods to the build.
Currently, full survivors and Vitae (since it's a frontline) other than the headpiece and the rune. Everything else, shove with armor. +Armor wouldn't be a bad choice. Brawler's or Blessed, or others. Haven't tried that. An ele frontliner with 70 armor doesn't sound like a bad idea. But untill I can afford it, I have around 600 health. Or, will, once I get a shield health mod.
Overall. This is not something you want to tote around Eye of the North.
September 14. 2008[edit]
Well, I was finally kicked from Orphans of Kukai. And by kicked I mean "told to GTFO within 24 hours" and I just quit to keep my honor. (A suggestion from one of their own members.) Oh well.
-As- I was talking to people about it, And I shit you not, I was actually putting in my re-application for XoO. Within an hour I was back with my old buddies. Sadly, there's just on XoO left instead of the multi-division alliance there once was... But oh well. The alliance is pretty neat and I'm now able to get a group within minutes for almost anything. (In OOK, the roleplaying guild, I'd ask for help in Gyala Hatchery and I'd get answers like "Where's that?" or "I don't have factions yet". I hopped in XoO and within minutes of asking, got an entire alliance group. While in XoO, beating at least one campaign I believe, is a requirement. (It's said on my Achievements section in Misc that beating NF got me into XoO the first time).
The only pain with XoO is that it requires Vent. While I have both vent AND a mic, I fucking hate voIP programs. As I was trying to hook my mic up, I nudged a certain cord I wasn't supposed to, barely touching anything, is randomly restarted my computer. When It came back, no sound worked. Nothing. Not even my speakers work anymore, and they weren't even hooked up at the time (to make way for my mic plugs). So, damn. My sound Drive just went kaput AS I was trying to fix it for my XoO interview. Son of a bitch.
In other news. I got all the armor sets I want save for Asuran armor for my mesmer. But she hasn't touched EoTn and I hate the Asuran mission areas so I'll hold off. In the meantime, my gathering riches will be saved up to possibly buy Diessa Chalices, but I have yet to decide which character I want the Blindfold for. H would make sense, because she's a margonite and could RP the blindfold for hiding her eyes. Hasin would make sense, as she's a brawler and could say the blindfold was for training. Namuen Also, sort of. I mean, I had her as a Diplomat, then a merchant, but overall She seems to be leaning towards the blind seer like Kormir is/was/whatever. It would be neat to have my character follow in her footsteps. If not that, perhaps being a Paragon/Ritualist would be ne--
And I just though of that as I was typing it. I think I'll save up for the Blindfold for my Paragon.
Glee.
September 12. 2008[edit]
Grumble. 1 in the morning. Couldn't sleep so I just got my paragon her norn armor. After all of It I finally am tired. The armor isn't very Merchant-like (on terms of roleplaying), but I guess her excuse will be "I like to be a little more protected than normal skamps." Since the paragon norn armor covers a bit more than normal paragon armor.
I'm going to go sleep for 12 hours. I'll update this entry when I wake up, play, and more shit happens. Also, refer to Sept 11 entry because It still feels like the same day. I just like being accurate and named this one Sept 12.
September 11. 2008[edit]
Warning: Major language in this particular entry.
Yeesh. This Roleplaying guild (for those late to this blog, actual RP, not Anet's bullshit "RP = PvE" nonsense) attracts the most annoying kind of people. We got Ponchis (Fuck hiding names) who, HAS to be at least 9 years old with how incredibly sensitive to everything that is ever said ever. I was warned of this, and gave a friendly (FRIENDLY) warning that my character could be violent if the wrong things are said. And she flips out OOCly like "I'm not roleplaying with your nonsense!" Holy shit. I was trying to be nice.
And we've got a Minako who roleplays a Vampire. Yea, my respect for her took a hit right off the bat. It raised a little seeing her RP some, and it wasn't bad. But roleplaying vampires AND elves, in a game, with NO vampires or elves, with no lore to support the EXISTANCE of vampires or elves, is really fucking stupid.
But that's not what annoyed me. So we got person #1, who has an alt that's a wife of Minako (I have no problems with that, my main female on WoW also has a wife). So we all hop on alts (or mains for them perhaps) and we're doing a CoF run. But the entire time this chick is just, constantly bitching about her loot and the lag she's getting. It doesn't stop. She got a lockpick and ACTUALLY typed "meh" and said she would have rather had a black dye. I mean, come the fuck on. It's a lockpick. Relatively rare and an instant 1k if you choose to sell. QUIT YOUR BITCHING. Loot. Sucks. Sometimes. SO SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT. I've gone entire runs with whites. I've gone through runs where people got lik three golds each (not even at the chest yet!) and me with some pitiful purples. Do I bitch? NO. I collect money! So I grab everything without complaint. Jesus.
And on a final note, I haven't roleplayed with him by any major extent but there's a guy who also roleplays an elf in another guild within this Roleplaying alliance. Ugh. But, for all I know, he's got a reason for it.
September 9. 2008[edit]
Tossed my paragon into EoTn headfirst. It's okay, I got the first tier of survivor before I died at 170,000. EoTn is hard like that :( Still running on past 200k without a secondary. I might get one for her soon though, just because. I won't use it. Doing fine with a pure Spear build. And I'm two missions away from filling a book, giving it to Norn, and then some CoF farming away from getting Namuen her Norn armor. Slowly amassing cash during the missions. The more I quest and stuff the less I'll have to grindfarm later.
In other news. I think I'm counting Huntress as my main RP character. She's fun to RP but very difficult to get a relationship going. Especially with some of the people in OOK. I myself prefer more Meaningful relationship, even in roleplay. I don't appreciate letting people sleep around "just cuz." If some specific situations, permissions, and conditions are met, then MAYBE. But I don't think it would be wise to date a margonite then betray them, now would it?
I like roleplaying Nikki but it's a little annoying because I can't seem to get her personality straight. I wanted her to be neutral but she seems emotionless. I don't mean that. She was raised by Norn but I don't feel it comes out in RP sufficiently.
Roleplaying Namuen or Theresa might go a little smoother because they're my happier sort. I don't have many of those. Not sure.
Character hopping on GW is a little more rough than WoW. On WoW, I can plop onto another char and stroll around Stormwind and pikc up RP as I walk. However, most of GW's RP takes place within guild halls. This makes it difficult because not all of my characters have access or a reason to be in said halls. So, my roleplaying is much more limited. Hell I've got my necro in the hall ready to RP right now but I HAVE NO IDEA HOW OR WHY SHE'S THERE. AHH. Well, vaguely. It's a canthan hall and my necro is Canthan. Might work.
On a less roleplaying note. I fucking HATE all the Asuran areas/missions. The missions aren't terrible but the massive shit you have to go through to get to them. I get entire party wipes on those fucking defensive raptors and Ceretadons. So I walk into missions with DP (provided they don't clear it with the cutscene). But seriously, I get my ass handed to me in twenty different ways just to get three marks on a hero book. Or less. And this is Normal Mode. Ugh. Fuck you, A.net.
Rant over.
September 6. 2008[edit]
Well, got MOX, but only on two characters that can even remotely do the quests. They take you relatively deep into each campaign (with the possible exeption of the Cantha one), therefore, only Huntress and Nikki can do anything. But they BOTH can't do the final part, claiming the reward. Neither of them are very far into Proph (and Huntress, I just skipped around to beat proph for Hard Mode), so that will be annoying.
I think Anet did that on purpose to get people into Proph again. If anything, so people can regain some of the zones. I really should, too. But it's too large, boring, and annoying to mess with but I know it would be extremely helpful in the longrun if I got some Proph zones under my belt.
In other news, refining some of my character descriptions. This only happens once I roleplay the character a few times, get a "Feel" for them, then I am able to describe them more accurately. All but Huntress, Nikki, and Hasin have a basic layout but their descriptions are very unrefined and... basic. So Now that I'm roleplaying a good bit, I'm refining a lot of it.
September 3. 2008[edit]
Been taking part in some CoF runs recently.
... Holy shit.
It's extremely cheap at around 2k a run. I know most people who read this blog (if any) know how this works but I'm explaining it anyway. What these rich fucks do, being either an E/Mo, E/Me, or Mo/Something, bring a hero around with them and run the place alone. Reflecting damage to everything. I've yet to figure out what spell does that. Also, Unyielding Aura. Are you kidding me?
I've only done a FEW runs and I've gotten: Murakai's Reaver, an Elemental Sword, Ruby Djinn Polymock Piece. Multiple Onyx Gemstones, Sapphires, and Diamonds. Hell, I make approximately 1k-1.5k from the Hidden treasures and drops alone. And after I'm don't vendoring all the whites, blues, and shitty golds, I'm sitting on another 3k. And I haven't even sold the gems, either.
I plan on selling the Ruby Djinn too, was told it was worth 20k. I mean, damn.
Not to mention CoF gives me an ample supply of Vanguard and Deldrimor rank. (More of the latter than former).
But to tie this off. Thanks to these runs, I'll soon be able to afford primeval for my dervish. Especially with the shittons of bones that ALSO drop from this place (I shit you not, I believe I'm sitting on 1000 bones).
And now for something completely different.
If you're a viewer of my wiki pages, you know I RP or try too.
Well I finally got a taste of GW-RP, and I must say I'm not terribly impressed. However, they have some increased grammar which is a welcome break from the common MMO typer. (IE: Children) That alone makes me want to stay with them, regardless of their flaws.
I am aware GW isn't as RP friendly as WoW is. I mean, you can't walk, only run. You don't have nearly enough inventory space to have multiple RP suits. And even if you do, they're pretty much the same and it's extremely limiting to your class.
That all being said, there's still room for logic and general common sense. For example (and all of these happened within my three days of being with this RP guild);
You cannot talk to someone in a normal tone if you're half an island away. Nor can you hear them.
People cannot use the chat as a telepathic channel and do actions like "sits in the chair" or tosses something at someone".
You cannot know someone's "class" or "job" by looking at them.
Nor can you know their name without learning it.
You cannot stare at someone with your back turned to them. (I have discovered however, that's just GW's faulty positioning. SOME of the time...)
You cannot ignore someone's question three times and think that's normal behavior.
All this has happened to me within days. I mean, sure the game mechanics are limiting but, come ON.
Complaints aside I still plan on staying and getting the full experience of being a full member rather than "on trial", basically. We'll see.
August 31. 2008[edit]
Not that I expected it too, but AB is still in massive supply of morons. People still bitch about mobbing? They haven't learned that it's just a strategy that happens to work? Sure, you bitch when it's used against you but you never see this in local chat "OMG WE'RE MOBBING WHAT'S WRONG WITH US."
I was JUST in this match where the Kurzicks were mobbing the hell out of us. However, they were losing almost the entire game untill they started mobbing. So, we lose about 500 to 487, and I see this message that prompted this exact post: "because we mobbed". No, if we mobbed, we would have WON. It's ridiculous. We had that game almost the entire time.
Meh. I'm guild hopping (sort of) untill a XoO officer gets on. I joined a kurz guild at first, do two AB matches and we lose miserably. I'm in a luxon alliance now, we I lost the first game. Sure, it was a close one but it's still a loss. I mean damn.
Even on my ele nukebot I just run around shrines, killing the NPC's and capping. Course, my job usually means no other players there giving me a hard time but with how I play her, that's rarely a problem. I go cap the places where there's not anyone. And it works. I wonder why we're still losing? It's not all me, since there's 11 other people on the team.
August 30. 2008[edit]
Well, I rerolled a Paragon under the name "Namuen". I also switched out the Diplomat history from Jolei (a Warrior) to her. It would just make sense. The Diplomat history was also once my monk's. And speaking of monks, If I can attain another character slot I might just make a PvP monk. PvE ones are annoying to handle and are never very much fun.
If I can attain YET ANOTHER slot (making 11 characters), I hope to reroll my Ritualist and get the Kurzick Armor again, because it was such an interesting character. I shouldn't have cleared her history though, gonna have to rewrite it on my Roleplaying page all over again. But that could be months away.
I also need to get over the mental scarring of the Bonus Mission Pack. All but Gwen's story are kind of difficult. Well, Togo's isn't too bad but I can't get that damn discovery of killing the students. Those damn poison arrows rape the hell out of my and my Tengu buddy. I need to get a different spear for Namuen because the Charr Spear doesn't fit the character. If I roleplay her before I get a new one, I'll just RP without the weapon equipped. She is a Diplomat, after all.
August 29. 2008[edit]
Oh god. Am I completely fucking retarded? I just noticed that I deleted my Ritualist. Okay, my May 6 Blog entry states why exactly but damnit, they were neat to roleplay! Oh well, Alitosh is similar (and a near direct spinoff of my RP character "Allein" on WoW), which balances out. Still, all the work into her history that is still listed on my RP pages. Damnit!
I also checked the ages of all my Guild Wars character. I wasn't gone as long as I thought. My dervish is still plopped at 20 months. Damnit! A BUNCH of other ones are still at 9-10 months. Damnit! Haven't checked my Necro's age. Might go do that now.
XoO Officers haven't been online. I might try to find a roleplaying guild as a replacement, at least temporary. If they exist.
August 27. 2008[edit]
I seemed to have skipped a month, keke.
Anyway, big news on two fronts. One, level 65 on WoW. Drive for leveling has come to a screeching halt but, woo? Still gunning for 68 so I can hop into Northrend when WotLK comes out. (Same concept on how 58 was the minimum level for Outlands, 68 I believe for the expansion)
Secondly, got the Orange Box. It's loads of fun. Beat Portal, sorta. Kinda just watched as my brother did the hard parts. But I /did/ a few levels myself.
TF2 was neat, for a while. Till it became an achievement grind, it's just not as fun anymore.
However, Half Life 2 with the two episodes tacked with it, I see some major replay valuetime being put into it. I played a good deal of Half Life 1 but never beat it. It really is a magnificant series because It puts a decent emphasis on character developement and fleshes the story out on little scenes throughout the game. Instead of cutscenes or cinematics, you're actually there witnessing all of them. It's also net on how there are no actual "bossfights". It's more like "introduce a new, tougher, rare monster here and there". And more often than not, "tougher" enemies are easy-ish to take down once you learn them.
Also, Alyx Vance is hot.

Level 55 on WoW, I can now make a Death Knight when that expansion comes out. Unless they change something... again.
There's a huge problem with WoWRP and the concept of ERP (Erotic RolePlaying, basically, playing out sexual encounters). I'm going to keep guild names and such (though, it's not like you can read previous entries, figure out my character's name, read what level I am currently, and go FIND the damn names) to a minimum to keep the discretion level.
This is a fairly old guild, started around 2005 (predated my arrival to WoW), and from what I can gather, had a bad reputation for being an "ERP guild". Well, they recently made a comeback and I hopped in, mostly because there were no RP guilds that really fit Allein. Even after all the shit I heard about them, one person who I respected greatly, said they had a lot of fun with them so I take their word above all others.
And, well, the general disdain and disrespect has remained on the poor guild.
However, just recently, I got a little confused. On the WoW forums, the guild second-in-command (the first doesn't use the forums) tried oh, so very hard, to defend the guild's honor and reputation, of it not being an ERP guild. Now, I was only in the guild for about a day at this time so I was just in there defending the individuals. (for the record I do not oppose or support ERP, I believe it's a valid type of roleplaying to extend two people's relationship. I myself have done so twice in the past year of playing).
The confusing part came from being in the guild for a month now, and I could confirm that there are four people I knew in there that roleplayed gay women (I omit myself, but I will say I certainly don't help the ratio) (I will also say whether or not they are female in real life is irrelevant. It's the characters that are fucking, not the people), and could most certainly confirm that three of them engaged in ERP with people either in the guild or outside. And all that is just on the top of my head, I could have gone down the damn roster.
I asked the leader when she was online, and she brought up some good points. I temporarily forgot that there is a difference between an ERP guild and a guild that has people who ERP. There is a decent difference there. While this guild I'm in seems like a central hub for it, it's actually just a noble's house. Not a whorehouse.
I'm still a little wary on why they try to deny and fight their reputation when it does hold some basis of truth. Regardless of how miniscule it is. But, I certainly don't help. Allein is a homosexual woman herself, but I'm not the kind of jackass to sleep and ERP with any woman who smiles at her. I do it with a good deal of maturity, and my character seeks commitment, I don't run around actively searching for ERPers. That is secondary, or less.
And yet, after all that being said, I love everyone in there, I /am/ having a lot of fun and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Plenty of good roleplayers in there.
In other news, watching a few more anime's, like Blood+ and Elfen Leid. EL, we had one DVD of it a while ago, borrowed from some friend. Blood, violence, language, and nudity. It goes a lot further than some cartoons dare to do. I got into it immediately, but we only had 4 episodes so that pissed me off. But YouTube is the new god, and I'm able to watch!

Level 51 now. See previous entry.
June 3. 2008[edit]
Oops, long time, lulz.
Beat factions. Like, a while ago.
Getting back into WoW, mostly for level 55's sake. 55 is the level you need MINIMUM to get into the Death Knight class. And even though I'm a pure roleplayer, I still want their equipment. I won't be an in-character DK, I just want their shit.
But yeah, level 47 now. Funny, since I vowed to stop at level 40 for RP's sake, and now here I am 7 levels later.
And sunken temple doesn't seem to rich in EXP, either. Even from getting run, with full rested, 5-7 bars at most. BUT I make like 25 gold in the process so that's a lot for me. (Hard to fathom on a Guild Wars site where 20g is a level 8 mob drop).

Not much gaming going on, mass anime watching on YouTube. Finished Strawberry Panic recently, damn good anime. Only 26 episodes and it's all on YouTube so It can be watched in a couple of days. (If you find the ones with Spanish subtitles, you're watching the wrong ones).
It's not what I expected. It turned out to be romantic, dramatic, and emotional. I'm not pulled to tears very often if at all but this came extremely close (Even further than the movie "Happy Feet" did). I wish there was more to it.
Still watching "Lucky Star" as well, most/all are also on YouTube. It's a lot more cutesie(real word?) than Panic. Like Saturday Morning Cartoons for Japan or something. I downloaded it's full intro, too. I luvz that song.
I need moar YouTube anime to watch. Dead of boredom.

Blog mood: Ripping hair out.
I screwed up my entire char set. Really, almost the only reason I made Nisai was for kurzick armor, got that, and now barely play her. I made Jolei as a permapre warrior, completely seperate and unique. Now that I made Jolei go post she's now going to be EXACTLY THE SAME, only with -30 attribute points. And templar armor. Why can't I just buy another suit for Nisai? But then that would render Jolei entirely useless.
The only thing I got going for Jolei is that I want to muddle through prophecies so I have at least one character through a lot of proph so I can help people in Proph. It was the campaign I beat once and was done with, and even with the char I beat proph with (my dervish) I just skipped from droknar's to Thunderhead keep and went from there.
So maybe there is a point to my nearly 'IDENTICAL' warrior. (Serious! She'll have the same damn build and everything!)
Oh, let's not even get to my new permapre monk.
Lets.
I'm not even sure if I'll bother with it. Though, I would find some interest in mixing healing with smiting for some AoE farm, I'd like to get a test run of that. But once I'm done with that, then what? I actually have a seed of thought in my head that I will ultimately delete this character, and that thought probably won't go away.
But then that would leave me with two options, Ritualist and Paragon. I don't want either.
Ugh. I'm a mess.
OH! I was so infuriated with myself I completely forgot, my newest Xbox Live experience. Since my mother is incomprehensible amounts of awesome, she got me Shadowrun as well as another 3 months of Xbox live (both very cheap).
Shadowrun is a... neat experience, to say the least. It's about damn time some game creators made a game with Elves, Dwarves, and Trolls sporting guns. Forgot the stereotype with dwarves an axes, these badasses have goggles, helmets, and shotguns. Combine that with an assortment of magic, I feel like I'm playing the "Dark Magic" mod for Unreal Tournament.
It's very strategic. You can assume different roles or you can just shoot anything in your path. I haven't developed the skill of switching powers in mid-game. I generally stick with my "Dwarf Medic" persona. I gain cash and get things in this order: Rez, Rifle, Tree, Glider. Rez rezzes. Rifle does slightly more damage, Tree heals people, and the glider is... just that.
The game feels a little wierd at first but once you get used to it, it feels very old-fashioned, which is good. I've only been playing for a day, but I'm generally on the top 5 after every match. I still need to learn how to switch skills fast. Maybe some other time.
In other news, None of you can handle this kind of awesome:
May 2. 2008[edit]
Since I has no job and my mother felt she owed me after the little to nothing I got on my birthday a day and a month ago, she got me an extra character slot and the bonus mission pack. I've been having a ball.
Both my warrior and my ranger have some assorted melee weapons and I have NO IDEA what I want to use!
Not to mention I've got to save and shell out 30k to get all the mods I need.
Getting those 15^50's are gonna be a bitch.
Anyway, after some massive consideration I decided to make a mesmer, A vanguard Alitosh, which will be loosely based (or largely based, haven't decided yet) on my WoW RP character, Allein. Allein being a "Trilesta", a special shadowcasting race that is basically one with the shadow. It's a bit complicated, but anyone who delved deep into the art become essentially immortal. Not gods, mind you. But it is overpowered RP-wise. Oh well.
Now if you excuse me, I owe Alitosh a screenshot.
Moar:
This extra char slot and BMP (not bitmap, nub) is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, they come with awesome weapons and cash. On the other, MORE cash output has to be made to mods and such. Not only that, I need to get armor that doesn't suck for Alitosh, and I *REALLY* want to beat the bison tournament for Nikki.
I have entirely too much to do.
May 1. 2008[edit]
As usual, worked on Vanguard Nikki hardcore, upgrading two Nightfall titles and almost got to 1.1mil xp. I did the sulferious wastes farm, and getting to rank 5 LB would take around 7 - 10 more runs. Fuck that noise. I'm content with my r4, that's 20% more damage to margonites, and it's noticeable! It even upgrades ursan blessing's damage by like, 10 points. Insanity.
That's all I did for 4 hours yesterday. Played some Gears of War a little, Oblivion for 30 minutes.
Also did World of Warcraft, the graphics problem I had before seems to be non-existant now. My brother was able to play it for hours so I figured I would try again (not sure If I addressed the problem I had here on this blog. Basically, the HuD, my player, and trees would disappear for a half a second, like a flash. But it would happen over and over again and eventually lead to a system crash.) It works fine now, I was able to get my paladin from 9 to 16 with no trouble in the past 2 days, no screen-flashing or anything.
I might play WoW some more today, try and get to Deatholme because that has to be the funnest place in the game ever. Not to mention I'm 4 levels above my rouge when I made it to the ghostlands. My rogue was level 9 when I started doing quests in the ghostlands, and it was rough, since 10-11 is the norm. But my paladin was level 13 before I touched the ghostlands.
I have no idea why.
But after leveling 3 times, the green quests I had are now finally dwindling so I can haul myself over to those level 14-16 trolls for more accomplished EXP grind. Can't wait.
Apr. 28. 2008[edit]
Random thought: You know what's funny? I use the green theme in almost everything I do because of the Vanguard thing. In my dreams, the Vanguard flag is green. My Navbar here is green, I try to dye most of my armor green (provided it looks halfway decent first), and yet it's not even my favorite color. Black/red is.
Wierd.
Apr. 27. 2008[edit]
First UW run, and all is not well in the kingdom.
No, this is not a "We whiped in first 5 minutes" (which did happen on my second attempt, no story there) post. In fact, we were doing extremely well.
I even got 3 ecto drops throughout this first run of mine. Couple deaths here and there but we recovered perfectly. And at 66xp a kill, the DP was gone in a flash. Good drops, ectos, lockpicks (didn't get any of those...)
Let me reiterate something. This was my first run. Though, I WAS told not to accept any quests untill told to, I saw on two or three different occasions where quests were accepted and things spawned without a word.
So we're on 9/10 of the quests, on our way to 10th. I was the first one there, I had the dialogue quest open for a bit, waiting for confirmation on "don't" or "grab it". Anything. Nothing. On an instant I click accept and I see "don'ts" "omg noobs" "idiots" and "morons" spamming my team chat.
Now, I will accept fault. But this was my first run. People can't expect me to be perfectly shiny on the first try? Of course, only ONE guy knew it was my first run but the whole thing was nearly flawless, I felt no need to type "Confession, first run".
I don't believe it was a waste of an hour and 50 minutes. Maybe that's because of the 3 ectos I got? Or the 2.5k I made in random loot? I don't know. I'm not saying people should forgive and forget, but just forgive.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I most certainly will not do that again.
In other news, I'm begun to be a little more royal to my heroes. Before, they were nothing to me other than henches with 8 skills. But as I'm playing Nikki nearly nonstop for the past few days, I've discovered that armor upgrades are kind of cheap. On top of that, I had about 6 random assorted green/gold weapons lying around that I never could sell, or never got around to selling. So I'm also equipping them with my old equipment. Jora is now using my old elemental sword and desctructive shield. See Pic for reference.
Damn flags.
Apr. 27. 2008[edit]
I need to take my accomplishments where I can get them.
Every time I'm feeling good about my character, when I progress further or get a new item, I just look at a person and it's all crushed.
I was on Nikki just now, happy with my newly acquired Rank 2 LB title, sporting my long-gotten Norn armor with a mask of Mo Zhing and some new Deldrimor equipment. I walk over to one person who also has norn armor and they have glasses, dragon gauntlets, and rank 8 lightbringer. I'm starting to feel I'll never really catch up to the "elite."
Apr. 25. 2008[edit]
Hopping on my mother's laptop while I plop Nikki in the 9 rings game. I can only afford around 150 at a time while I go out and farm money or play Dragon Arena for tokens and such.
Speaking of which, just ended a 20 winning streak in DA. VERY proud. Not quite the record of one of my allies at 37, but 20 wins is still bragworthy.
Did some RB racing as well, only a few matches. It's based more on luck than actual skill like DA. But it's just fun, it's so different from the Guild Wars game itself and that's why I really play it. Reminds me of the Pac Man and Tetris mod for Unreal Tournament.
I don't even LIKE doing the 9 rings thing. But After blowing 30k on the new Deldrimor Sword, what good is an idle 3k anyway? So, tickets ahoy. I'll make it back after the event.
And yes, those new weapons are fucking SWEET. My only regret is I only have one character in Hell's Precipice, and untill I get other characters there, I'll only be able to get the weapons if I craft more. I was able to get the shield for free with the talisman, but my second run I blew 30k on materials and shit for the sword. But it /does/ look damn good together.
Future notes: Gonna press hard on Nikki, get her through some of prophecies and try to find a group that doesn't suck copious amounts of cock at Grand Court of Sebelkeh in Nightfall, I'd like to get Nikki deep into there as well. No innuendo intended.
Apr. 20. 2008[edit]
At least, I think it's the 20th. That's what my computer says, but it's been wrong before.
Just a random note: Trying to get a post gold to pre gold conversion is a bitch. Especially when assholes want a 1:2 ratio. They want my 20k but I'll only get 10k in pre? Fuck that. What the hell is wrong with 1:1 ratios? 1:1.5 makes a little more sense, like giving 15k and getting 10k. The theory that gold in pre is harder to make. Still, noone is willing to trade with me.
I'm being entirely ignored sometimes. On presearing.com, this one person called Jeenyus claimed they could get a Mini Destroyer for 10k in pre. (I want it on this character specifically). I'd have to pay some interest around 15k, y'know, for labor. Makes complete sense to me. They buy the thing and I pay a slight bit of extra for their work. I don't mind that.
4-5 days later, this person has not sent me 1 message on the forums. I messaged them in-game, no damn reply.
And when I tell people my offering price and get no reply back. A "sry no ty" would be sufficient. At least acknowledge my existance, assholes.
Apr. 17. 2008[edit]
There IS something about full ursanways that makes me the most intolerant to players. Snobbish if you will, but there's a certain air of idiocy about them.
Apr. 16. 2008[edit]
I've been working on Vanguard Nikki for the past few days, got slightly bored with my permapre. Well, not bored actually. I'm saving up post gold in hope to exchange for pre gold to get a pre-searing mini destroyer. Problem is, I want things for Nikki again. Specifically a zealous sword. I want to get an Igneous Blade for 'er, and have an extra build for a sword.
That aside, I'm really proud of my ranger. Over 600,000 xp, gotten legit. I'm not as proud of Huntress's 1.1mil xp because half of that is from Faction Farming in Lutgardis with a guildie. Not exactly gained honorably. While Nikki's titles are going everywhere but down.
Speaking of those titles, still not sure what I want to dump my books into. Asuras give me things like Pain Inverter, extra energy, and Air of Superiority. While the dwarves gives me Light of Deldrimor and Drunken Master+Dwarven Stability, which are so damn useful. A speed buff that lasts over a minute? You can't lose.
I also got a few more norn skills, I may even be able to replace Nikki's cyclone axe. It was always so useful for charging adren.
Not too worried about that rank though, HM ursanways will get me r10 in no time. Well, a few days anyway.
Apr. 15. 2008[edit]
My case for Ursan Blessing.
This is not a planned or thought-out report. I write as stuff comes to mind.
I LOVE Ursan Blessing. Not because I "cant find a good build" (an arguement within my own goddamn alliance), my Axe Ranger does quite fine in all things PvE. But when I want speed and a failsafe group, I look to find UB groups. It's not breaking the game, it's just speed-farming.
I use the term failsafe loosely, even ursanways come across groups that sap energy and then turn everyone into pincushions.
I broke the skill down in my head yesterday, and even though my opinion of UB has not lowered at all, I begin to understand why people think it's so bad.
So here's the breakdown. You get 6 people who are now sporting 800 health or more. Put on their norn rank, they get nearly another 100. That's 900 health. Give this group two monks with an elite that makes healing spells 50% more potent. Give them a spell that heals them every time they are hit. Combined with the +20 or so armor UB also gives... Level 28's and such are hitting 6's and the players are getting healed for 30. Every time they are hit. I think I need to repeat that. Every. Time. They. Are. Hit.
So we got bitches who are one health buff away from breaking over a thousand hitpoints, armored out the ass, and untouchable, for the most part. Now let's look at the crap they're sporting.
A skill that does damage while ignoring every form of armor or damage avoidance. Not only does Ursan Strike hit twice, but it does touch damage, ignoring everything. You can do up to 140 damage every few seconds.
Not much of a weakness you say? They might get pounded you say?
That's fine, they have Ursan Rage! Physical damage (which armor DOES reduce) to every goddamn thing around you.
They also have a shout that weakens enemies and adds damage to you. IN ONE SKILL.
They also have a good speed buff.
These are just a few reasons why people hate UB. If we wanted to get into a more intricate discussion, we could talk about the economy and how it breaks the game.
And I will.
As I stated Here, "...the economy is completely normal. When there's more of something in ciruclation, it's cheaper. When there's less of something, it's expensive. Ursan Blessing is no different than godly 55/600 farmers, only UB is more team-based farming. Which is how GW should be."
I might be an asshole for saying this but how the hell can that be argued against? Gold is ALREADY unlimited by killing monsters. If we're talking real-world economy, then the argument is already moot because of the simple concept of killing stuff.
The arguement people brought forth to the game-breaking thing is that they don't want new to moderate players being "good" in high level areas getting high level areas.
Let me repeat that so it sounds a little more clear.
People don't want new to moderate players to be "good". That's all it boils down to.
Everyone wants to strut their high level crap, some set of armor that cost them 150+k to build, even though it functions the exact same way to MY set of armor that looks just as neat, but only cost me 20k for the stuff. I don't get it.
Even *IF* UB killed that, there are plenty of things you can gain satisfaction over. For one, rank title farming is only 4 or so titles. UB can't farm treasure hunter for you. UB isn't going to get you LdoA.
There are plenty of things to stroke your E-Peen over. Leave Ursan Blessing alone, for those that don't meet up to elitists goddamn standards.
Apr. 14. 2008[edit]
Boredom reliever? I haz a couple.
Recently I've been trying to save up cash in both pre and post for a Mini Destroyer, for my pre-searing character. I thought about getting one in post but at the time it was too expensive, but it's not significant when I play on 6 other characters who DON'T have the mini. So pre-searing is the way to go.
I managed to sell my Eyes of the Forgotten for 10k pre-gold. Cheap, you say? Well yes, but I've had the goddamn thing for months. Got my droknar's scythe so I'm done with it. I have a few more things to sell and that destroyer is as good as mine.
But when I'm not selling scythes or farming pre-searing dye and lewt, I'm on Vanguard Nikki, farming Hard Mode Norn rank. I tell ya, it's a lot more fun than I remember, provided you get a decent group.
I was grouped with this guy named Caveman, he was being a complete ass, claiming that "Diablo 3 = Hellgate: London". I disagreed, because I'm big on Diablo Lore and Hellgate does NOT = D3. Similarities, yes, but too many differences as well. But anyway, he was attacking the smallest of shit that people were saying but I couldn't help to respect him, because it was a little too close to home. Yea, I'm an ass to a lot of people in game. That's a bad perk of playing for over 21 months, my expectations have skyrocketed. Once I know how to do something, I want other people to know how as well.
That's why it's hard to PuG things these days, someone or everyone is doing something for the first time, even as we speak. It's annoying to handle, knowing FULL WELL I was there once, too. I just hate grouping with people doing stuff for the first time because I'd much rather be concentrating on the mission, run, or whatever, than trying to talk them through it, "Okay, now we go THIS direction for bonus" and whatnot.
This has led me to a very harsh attitude towards GW players, I attack little things, but things that are normally easy to find out. "wut duz WTB meen?" Is asking for a flame. "Could someone please tell me what WTB stands for?" Is easily more respected. Hell, I gave someone an entire tutorial on what LdoA and Deathleveling was, because they asked in a decent manner. I can be decent if these scrubs are decent first.
Meh, kinda diverted a bit. I don't exactly plan these blogs as I write them, which is why some are shorter than others.
Norn Farming! Yesh, it's a lot more fun than I remember. Takes about an hour to do but I can get 2-3k worth of loot a run, which helps. Even when/if I get rank10 Norn, I still might join these farming parties.
I'm still trying to finish that damn quest to get that damn skill, my last two runs didn't get that far due to a disconnect and a computer crash. I just can't win.
Or I may get off my ass and do ursanways in FoW or DoA that I keep hearing about in my alliance chat...

Wiki stuff: I thought about nominating myself as a Bcrat, but the only problem is I have yet to understand what they DO. I read the page, and all I've got registered in my head is they're just there to listen to the community and relay information to the admins to help come to a decision about something. If it's really that simple, I wouldn't mind doing that at all. Playing GW for nearly 2 years now, I can easily get a general idea of how people feel about certain things. (Bitching in-game and out).
But if Bcrats get some kind of admin-like powers, I'd barely use them. The most I like to do is patrol around, fix vandalism, and point at people who violate image naming (provided someone doesn't get there first. I swear, some of the wiki-goers must be awake 22 hours a day just lurking the wiki).
That's the only reason I haven't nominated myself. Mostly out of ignorance. What do they do? What powers to they get? WHY do that get powers? Do they HAVE to use them?
I'll gladly take answers on a talk page, if someone lurks on over to this blog post.

Guild Wars: Got my permapre to 13. I think my record is 14 but I don't remember doing nearly as many of these charr runs before. Maybe my record was 12, not sure.
- Edit: Record is 12 with both an ele and a warrior.
Either way, I know it's going to be a long road to 16, and an even worse one to 17+ if I ever get the seed of thought in my head of "Hey, maybe I can get to 20!" I don't have that thought right now but it could happen.
I did some Charr runs with a level 15 and they told me they get 1% of xp a run. That's bad. Course, I would do it for the sake of loot.
Speaking of loot-in-charr, I remember getting 2 charr bags and a kit after a day or two worth of runs. Jolei is 5 days old now and I've gotten NOTHING. Not even my teammate got either bag or kit. What the hell happened to the drop rate?
Other: If you haven't already, I recommend playing some Stick Arena. It's fairly easy to learn and after bookmarking this thread as a useful reference, it can be fun to play. The only real problem are the hackers, which is an easy fix with the "Quit" button. There are the over-zealous players, but we see them in any and all FPS's anyway so it's not much worse.
It'll be hard at first but once you learn the maps and where the weapons are, all you got left is learn how to move around and you're set.
Good for passing the time. Especially in a boring college class. Trust me, I would know. ;)
Apr. 9. 2008[edit]
And now for something completely different.
I want to gather these thoughts before I forget them all some day. This is a synopsis on the History of my logical change.
I began questioning religion around grade 9. I don't know why, I guess it was just developing critical thinking at the time. I had a good friend at the time who is a loyal but not fanatical christian (a good type of theist friend for any athiest to have) who I spoke to about it. As always, he did preach but he did not mean to. I am under the impression he was repeating his Sunday school teachers nearly word for word, or summerized it to his interpretations. Either way, there was no clear answer for the questions I asked like "Why do I feel this way?" "Why is there such evil in the world?" "Surely an all powerful being could not let [concept, event] happen..."
He got around to mentioning "air". This is important because this was pretty much the first arguement I was able to counter myself. We may not SEE air, but we can feel it. We can measure it, rate it, etc. Well damn, you can even SEE it in effect if you have a scientific wind tunnel to a sheet of paper flowing in the wind.
Most of my 9th grade was into this phase, but I did not call myself an Atheist. I KNEW I wasn't that deep into thinking that there isn't a god AT ALL. I would not allow myself to close that door. Later on, Probably somewhere around 10-11th grade, I discovered a new term "Agnostic" after taking one of those stupid internet quizzes. I hate those things, but they are fun and they DID introduce to me the Agnostic term, even though I probably would have found out eventually. Still, I researched this term and told myself "Oh hell yes. This is me!" I interpret Agnostics as people who don't believe there is sufficient or any evidence that a god exists.
In the near beginning of my 12th grade year, I combined "Agnostic Atheist" to purely define what I am.
I don't believe in God. I probably won't untill it's proven. Thus, Agnostic Atheist.
I thought deeper into this concept, and realised something. Even if a god was proven to me, I don't believe I would worship it. Number of reasons.
- If it were so powerful, why didn't it make me believe? Why did god not go out of his/her way to prove themselves to me?
- I don't think they did a good job of our world. Too many problems, too many things unanswered, I don't think they would be worth worshipping. All I've had in my life is my parents Divorced, unable to grasp education (college, high school was meh), and financial problems that force my family to move somewhere else every other year, making me unable to attain any long-term friends. I only have one good friend, my Christian bud.
Which brings me to where I am today. A 19 year old Agnostic Atheist, about 7 months out of High School.
And I know I will never change.
Apr. 8. 2008[edit]
Got my Permapre to level 10, wrote up a Pre-Searing farming guide (link on Apr 7 entry), and then did all the secondary quests possible and nabbed Elementalist as my official secondary. Man, it doesn't take much into fire magic to make Fire Storm badass. I never use this in post, with a build like the one in this picture never needed it.
I'm wondering if Charr-Boss drop rates got lowered. Did 3 boss runs yesterday that got me to level 10, and not one charr kit or Charr Bag... For EITHER of us in the team.
Good news is, most Charr farming groups look for 10+, and I'm in that range now.
I've also noticed that title-hunting is big in Pre. I'm content with my r3 Kurzick, but how do people get ale in pre? o_O?
Apr. 7. 2008[edit]
Guild Wars Stuffs.
Made a Perma-pre character again. Same plan as last time. Made a warrior so I have no urge to go post, (As opposed to making, say, a mesmer and then getting a REALLY good green in post and wanting to leave pre). Though, I chose a DAMN good weekend to start this permapre. Forgot that these party items were dropping and at 125-200g a pop, I got very rich very quickly. I even surpassed the 10k I had in post.
Yes, my level 9 pre-searing character is twice as rich as my other 7 level 20's I have in post.
But yeah, I'm just stockpiling cash now. She's at level 9 so it's the ideal level to start charr-farming, though I may need to invest in some runes first like +1 to Str, Sword, Tact, and Axe. Hell of a need. The rest to health mods.
I plan on stopping at level 16 as usual because that whole "death leveling" thing does not appeal to me.
I *might* actually keep this character because I've TRIED everything else. My monk didn't work out due to complete boredom (I don't think she even made it to Zen Daijun). Mesmers don't have enough pure damage output (same problem with my monk perhaps?) I love the degen but the level 20 mesmer I had couldn't DO anything. My two level 20 Paragons I had at two different times, ugh. Bad history. The first was badass but deleted to make room for something else. A few nerfs later my next paragon wasn't badass at all. It really sucked. So, I have everything else for better or for worse.
Wish me luck.

Apr. 3. 2008[edit]
Mass Movie Spoilers in this entry, you have been warned.
Both of these reviews were my own entries to IMDB.
"NEXT"[edit]
Bad:
- I did not like how the movie suddenly wants him to see hours or days into the future. I thought the 2 minute limit was a splendid querk and I watched this movie hoping that he would save half the world with two minutes on his timer. It was a clever and decent limit put on the character.
- I did not understand How he was able to dodge 7 bullets (Or however many this movie decided to shove into the clip). Nick's character could only see the future, not move through it. Which he did.
- The movie is incomplete. It could use up another hour to explain things like motives, how he uses the power to his full advantage (Like the cast of Heroes are able to "build upon" their powers to make it stronger, much like he did to scan the factory).
- The European's motive was not explained. There wasn't even an effort to do so.
- The "True-love" thing seemed a little stupid. "Hi. I can tell the future. Clearly, we should(will) have sex." I personally think It would have been an interest twist if the love interest was the FBI agent.
- I HATED when the movie warped back to after Nick's character and Biel's make the lovings, that made the entire movie pretty much useless.
- Regardless of the 2 minute limit but 3 hour+days with Liz, the movie should have pressed on this more and given Liz a bigger role. I would have respected this movie more if the "Love Interest" plot was made more important when Liz realizes how important she really is to him.
Good:
- The cafe scene was very clever, him trying to win the lady's heart in some form or another. I got confused when she just said "Please, don't" to him when he tried to walk up to her and flirt, made me think she had some type of predictive power too, but instead that was just one of her reactions on her mental rolex. Thinking of that makes it make a little bit of sense.
- I liked the "Jason Bourne" Feel to the movie, how he was dodging people coming at him. I love those type of sequences in any movie.
- Dodgeing the FBI was unnecessary, but the character's logic DOES make sense when he states, "I can't help them. I can only go two minutes and only if it directly effects my life". This does make sense.
Overall:
The 2 minute limit was a good idea. They should have
emphasized on saving the world within two minutes, THAT'S the
definition of "suspense."
The movie was incomplete. Director's should not be afraid to add an extra 30 minutes or more to explain things.
"GRINDHOUSE"[edit]
Planet Terror:
Wasn't impressed. The "Missing Reel" kind of killed it for me. You don't have to skip a sex scene, just use the "fade to black" method, and yes. We get it. They screwed. Okay, now tell us why the place is on fire and why the cop suddenly respects this juvenile deliquent.
The zombies were exaggerated but that was FUNNY and I enjoyed that. Wasn't expecting the women doctor to prevail. After killing her kid (Basically) by giving him a gun, breaking her hand (Which magically fixes later! Yay?!) and cheating on her husband, I was expecting her to die.
Could have been better. The Missing Reel thing really did kill it for me, as I hate unexplained and incomplete movies.
Deathproof:
Much more clever, my only gripe is the second set of girls talked entirely too much. I pressed fast forward for a few seconds, I came back to them and they were talking about boys. I fast forward'd again, and they were talking about cars. I pressed it again and it came back to them actually doing something.
I was NOT expecting the first set of girls to get slaughtered, even though I should have after the Planet Terror segment. I was expecting the second set of girls to get ruined, but they prevailed. It was an interesting and unexpected contrast.
With all the useless talking, I was hoping the second set of chicks would just die already, but with the sweet car chase I found myself CHEERING for them. I was shocked to see the girl on the hood survive.
NEXT: A solid 6/10
GRINDHOUSE: A decent 7/10. If seperated, Planet Terror is a 6/10 and Deathproof would be about 8/10.
Apr. 2. 2008[edit]
Not much to update since I went to bed THREE hours earlier than I normally do. It's hard to get syked about Mass Effect even though I've been dying to get it back for months. It just feels "Meh." Might kill my infiltrator, try to press on soldier, or try with a pire bionic class anyway. Hey, I know how badass those pistols can be. Even If I don't want to constantly use my entire bionic power rotation on two or three guys, pistols *are* beefy.
And with a high-enough level shotgun with the right upgrades, you can constantly shoot and have no overheat.
First things first, get that damn level 58 to 60 for that powergamer achievement. Grawr.
I've sorta returned to Neopets. Didn't take me long to get hated. Personally I'm only there to write up stories and expand my pet's storylines into a mass of turmoil and seriousness. I hope some roleplayers there will heed the call of maturity and help me expand on it all.
Apr. 1. 2008[edit]
No fools joke for me, especially since I hate the concept.
That being said, I got to borrow Army of Two from my friend. Played on Live because, even knowing that the AI you get when playing single player isn't bad, I still didn't want to risk it. I should have though, even when the other guy wasn't bad himself he went AFK A lot, short amount of time, never more than a minute or two, but he went away like three times a mission.
Ah well, got a couple achievments. Still going for the 250 kills with handgun.
Guild Wars: This would have been funnier if the heads were filled in, looking more like actual stick figures. Though xkcd's heads aren't filled in. But they make sense. (Note: Don't bother with that link untill after today)
Mar. 31. 2008[edit]
Beat Army of Two with my friend yesterday. It was disgustingly short, but he allowed me to borrow it for the week so I can achievment-whore the hell out of it.
Due to WoW screwing up, It seems I may be on the computer a lot less. Or more, since Guild Wars seems to be healthy. I just don't have much to do on GW at the moment, even though I have an ENTIRE list, I just don't know where to start.
Might just hop on my ele and pwn face.
I've also developed an obsession for Christopher Walken's dance on the Weapon of Choice video. If I had seen this before, Vanguard Huntress might have been a male dervish.
Mar. 29. 2008[edit]
Birthday tomorrow. But let's talk about important stuff.
After WoW's new 2.4 patch (big newz), a shit load of people including me had to jump through hoops to get the damn running a little more properly. Graphical issues and comp explosions out the ass. After a reinstall and doing varies things a useless Blizzard Tech told me to do, I have come to the conclusion that it's not MY computer, it's THEIR game.
Damn shame too. Just made a paladin.
Mar. 10. 2008[edit]
Remade my monk in PvE. Let's hope I don't lose my bloody patience.
I've tried this one before but it was either too boring or too difficult. I just don't like the pressure I have. I might avoid PvP altogether this time.
AB'd a good bit on my Ele. Badass as usual. Couple things I've learned though; Once an assassin gets on me, I'm dead already. A decent one, anyway. Not even warriors! I can NEVER take warriors on! And I was even at half health when he charged me! I just loaded the area with AoE. Casting crap on him hoping I could outlast. It worked...
Assassin came out of nowhere and took me out at 80HP. I messaged in local "GJ sin, you can take on a squishy with 80 health. Be proud."
Haha, anyway. Yeah, that's it.
Mar. 8. 2008[edit]
Amazing what I can do in a few days.
First off, Just finished my concept skill Avatar of Abaddon, an idea I've had for a long time but never had the actual skill conditions idea. With the creation of that page, ideas formulated.
I also finally got Theresa some new armor. My lazy ass has yet to upload the screenshot so I can remove that god-aweful scar pattern screenshot I have of her right now.
Made a To do List For guild wars. I have my work cut out for me. My personal goal is to get Theresa's SS build, as that will be the most expensive thing. A few of those characters I haven't touched in months. Shows how much of a priority they are.
Shoved my ele in some AB's yesterday. Lost a lot, but not before AoEing the jesus out of everything in my path. I even killed a Dervish by myself. Sure, he was already at 80% health but that's still high for a caster versus tank, yes?
I did finally manage to beat EoTn, as noted on my March 3 blog. That's about it.
Shifting between WoW and GW, depending on boredom level. Ah, it's good to have a computer back again. And If I'm bored with all of those, I have a 360 to fall back on.
Life is good. I'll await another computer explosion.
Mar. 5. 2008[edit]
Hopped on WoW for an hour or so yesterday. A few "Holy shit it's you..."'s later, and I hopped back on GW to refine a Seeping Wound assassin build.
Wanted to give it a test run yesterday but didn't get a chance. It basically comprises of mass conditions, and right when my sin runs out of energy, two heavy-damage signets pound on them. It's energy-intensive and the recharge time sucks horribly, I might just have to stick with my PvE build. 90 armor and unblockable, but uses 2 pve-only skills. Very sad.
Updated a few of my character pages. A couple of their experience's are just guesses (Nisai might have well over 150,000 at the time I wrote that), but for the most part it's accurate. I built all those character pages back when I didn't even have GW so all 8 pages were bland and didn't give a lot of information. They are looking quite fine now. All I need is to figure out that pronunciation thing.
Either way, I have fun updating Nikki's titles here and there. Rank8 Norn will be very good for some future ursanways. Untill it's nerfed, anyway.
As for WoW, my brother got it back as soon as I was getting back into GW so I probably won't be on it much. But I don't play normally anymore, at least I usually don't. I just pure Roleplay, and if there's no roleplay, I will either character-switch or hop back onto Guild Wars. If anyone want's to roleplay, my character is [Allein] on Earthen Ring.
Mar. 3. 2008[edit]
Double rank weekend is over. Damn.
Got a lot done though, worked on Nikki. Got her to rank 8 with norn, barely did a damn thing on any other faction. Hey, rank 8 is good for future ursanways. Though, I did get a couple rank ups on a couple different factions but only because I beat EoTn this weekend.
Another bit of good news, I got Nisai Oril past one of the annoying Factions missions, Vizunah square. That brings me a step closer to getting 1k kurzick armor back for her. I've already got 20k in storage, that's more than enough to get the materials and such. I'll also have much more than that by the time I get to HzH.
Other than that, I would like to get my necro some different armor. The scar pattern is nice and all but most armors look kind of crappy. I'd like to get her one of the three EoTn armors though, probably Norn. All I've got to do is turn in a full handbook to somebody and that's straight into rank 4 for any alleigence. I'm diggin' the asura armor but last I hear, they're the hardest to farm.
That's it. And yes, I'll archive soon for the people who have trouble loading more than 32kb of fucking TEXT.
Feb. 28. 2008[edit]
Didn't do as much as I would have liked on GW, I was too busy trying to get the "Feel" back, and I felt like playing AB or something. But by the time I got reinvited back to XoO, it was pretty much time for me to go. I can do some later today, I guess.
Massive graphics problem I've never seen before. Sometimes the ground becomes a green, orange and black grid-like mess. The only thing that Fixed it was restarting my computer. I hope that crap doesn't come in the middle of an AB match.
Character-wise, I was able to update every character page with current titles. I should be getting their xp down but won't bother with that yet. For the most part I played my necromancer and assassin. Theresa has droknar's scar "armor" now, but has a shitty weapon. And I'm dirt broke. May do some PvE with my assassin to get some cash back. My prize money for winning my guild's cape competition is completely gone (it was 25k, but that's what I get for having a computer that doesn't work for 4 months).
Future plans include: Getting my ele back to level 20. She already has max armor/weap and I remember she was BADASS in AB. Only this time around I'll have +30 attribute points. I just don't feel like grinding.
Same deal with my warrior, who is a level 14 but has the health of a level 22 (haha, no joke) and, of course, max equipment all around.
The most annoying thing about working these three characters back up to level 20 are the elites. A couple of them I bought tomes for, and that probably ran me 10k when I was on GW last. Probably cheaper now but I have a total of 200 gold account-wide after getting droknar's armor.
I'll add more to this entry later.
Feb. 27. 2008[edit]
Sen. Clinton got WTFpwned. I like her healthcare plan, and you know she's probably telling the truth (as opposed to saying something to get elected and then doing something else) because when she was the First Lady, she pressed HARD on healthcare.
Still, If Obama gets the nomination, he has my vote.
Hopped on guild wars for a few short minutes to see how it will run. The internet is somewhat slow but GW seems to run fine. A newly slicked computer, reinstalled windows and everything. It'll be slow at first and smooth out over use. I reckon I'll have a lot to put in my blog as I play. Hell, I might even edit today's entry. (The notice above no longer applies, since I finally have internet at home). My [Xfire] gave me 3 hours, but that was half the time it took to just install the 60,000+ files. I do the -images thing. Kills off my first playing session but it would take hours loading every zone in-game anyway, might as well get it out of the way. Conveniency, y'know?
So finally, my wiki-blog might actually be a blog on what the wiki is actually about. Guild Wars is never short of stories, y'know.
Feb. 26. 2008[edit]
Got a working computer with internets at home. Coming back to guildwars, doing the -images thing, still has a few hours left on it. I probably won't be playing tonight. I plan on taking notes on every characters, including current Armor set, screenshot retrieval, Experience points, and titles.
Also planning on watching tonight's Presidential Debate. Finally at the age to vote so I have to pay attention more.
Feb. 25. 2008[edit]
I whored achievements on The Darkness yesterday. Got 200 points worth of stuff, my gamerscore is 3100 even now. Woo! I'm pretty much done, too much of a pussy to try the game on Hard Difficulty. All other achievments are either multiplayer or just fucking impossible (Like the 25, 50, 75, and all 100 collectables.) I won't bother with those.
I need to get Halo 3 for the multiplayer. But I'm a little afraid. With Gears of War, there is very little learning curve. Anyone can get really good if they play enough, and it seems there's like a "skill-cap" to the game. I've killed pro's a few times myself. Everything is perfectly limited in weapons and counters. Now, with Halo, the maps are a little more open ended. Cover means nothing. There are tons of weapons and the asskickers keep kicking ass while the scrubs whipe themselves off the concrete after every game. I may fall in the scrub category and it will just murder the fun for me. May have to resort to Campaign-Multiplayer.
I did play a sample of Halo 3 multiplayer at my friends house. Another little tidbit: It seems HALF the people don't have mics, while a seemingly solid 95% of people on Gears have mics. Communication is key, in my opinion.
/rantover.
Feb. 19. 2008[edit]
Now for something entirely different that has nothing to do with games at all. Someone said this on some forum and I believe it bears quoting:
People hate math because for a lot of people, it's really counter-intuitive
First, we tell people how to add and subtract, but that you can't subtract a bigger number from a smaller number
The next year, we go "haha! just kidding!" and introduce negative numbers.
We tell people how to divide whole numbers, but we tell them they can't divide say, 9 by 5.
The next year, we go "haha! just kidding again!" and introduce fractions. And then we teach them some tricks to add and multiply fractions, but they're so damn similar, it's hard to differentiate which one is which. We take these confused people and force them to do these awkward contortions with their mind, which bores the people who get the concepts and alienates those who are struggling with them.
A little while later, we start talking about taking roots of numbers, but then we say you can't take a square root of a negative number. Most people are scared off by this point, but those who trudge on through get ANOTHER "haha! just kidding!" moment and we introduce imaginary/complex numbers.
We TELL people that math is useful, because it's obvious to us, but we don't really SHOW them. We make up stupid word problems that don't really relate to life, because to those of us who are good at math, numbers DO feel concrete. We internally mock those who don't make the connection that making change and calculating sales tax and estimating them are all the same things you do in workbooks with subtraction and percentages and mental math, and most people are pretty quick to pick up on when someone else thinks less of them.
A lot of kids who are good at math aren't socially adept or good at sports and such, and so they rely on their mathematical abilities to make the other kids feel small. As school progresses, it becomes more and more advantageous to have mathematical acuity and harder and harder to pick it up if you fell behind, so the animosity grows, and the socially awkward math geeks become even more condescending. Both camps feed the others' negativity.
We tell everyone that math is so useful, but then kids go home to their parents who also suck at math and are leading perfectly good lives and feel like they're being lied to again.
Math is a workout for your brain. Just like some people come to P.E. without physical acumen, some people come to math without mental acumen. In either case, if you keep at it, you get stronger, but those who excel based off of nothing other than genetics mock those who don't.
By junior high, we've started to learn how to split up everyone into stereotypes, and we decide what type of person we do and do not want to be. Included in those stereotypes are the jock and the math geek, and if you've been a nerdy kid who got picked last in P.E., you start distancing yourself from jocks and associating with math geeks. Vice versa with the jocks. Then this whole division gets amplified in High School, where most people seem to abandon their emotional growth.
With teaching like that, it's easy to see why most people have had an absolutely horrible experience with math.
Feb. 18. 2008[edit]
As my previous entry noted, there isn't much to say.
I DO have 3 more months of Xbox Live courtesy of my brother and his money-paying job. Played a little bit of the Darkness on multiplayer. It sure as HELL isn't made for multiplayer, but it feels a little like Half Life online, as the gameplay goes. If you're lucky enough to find a host that doesn't lag like a motherfucker, the movement is pretty smooth.
I still need to get Halo 3, but I'm a little iffy on the multiplayer. I'm under the impression that there's not much more than a bunch of trashtalking 12 year olds on Halo. I'll find out eventually.
Feb. 11. 2008[edit]
I have no idea how much time I have on Xbox Live so I just powerplayed Gears online for the past three days. Made a couple friends, hosted a few matches. Hosts are badass, but I still think the extra health/damage thing is bull. I was taking shotgun hits that normally kill me.
Anyway, I let my friend borrow Oblivion so I might just skip the next week on this blog, or add an entry when something interesting happens. I have plenty of other games to play.
Feb. 7. 2008[edit]
Got my thief/assassin to level 27, that is all. Leveling is so slooowww but I love the character type.
Other than that, I gathered about 20 or so games that my brother and I aren't going to play anymore. I hope to trade them all in for a new 360 game. I have about 20-30 Ps2 and normal Xbox games, and I know I'll only get 2-10$ for any of them. I'm prepared that I'll probably only get one or two new games, if any at all. If I don't get enough of anything, I'll just stick it into saving.
I really need a new 360 game.
Feb. 6. 2008[edit]
I've figured out why my thief/assassin was hard to level. Because all those thief-related skills level slow as HELL. Maybe not sneak, but Marksman (bad mechanics?), Blade (Using marksman...), Illusion (excluding spam-leveling), Light Armor (because sneak attacks = don't get hit), Athletics (That's slow to level in itself, but then again it's constantly going up) and Acrobatics (Because I don't jump everywhere I go, especially if there's a risk of fighting). That's why Sketali was at level 25-26 for a pretty long time before I saved over her.
Well now I'm at 21 with the same character with similar stats and similar equipment and i'm just now realizing that I can't do much without training. Takes too damn long.
That's all I really discovered yesterday. Hopefully I can level her a few times later today.
Feb. 5. 2008[edit]
Back on Sketali Shaetchi, my argonian Spectre (assassin/thief/spy hybrid, she is whatever she needs to be in a given situation). I have something called restartitis, a condition given a name by the official elder scrolls forums. When you feel the compulsion to restart your character when there's little to no reason to. Well, there's usually some reason but it's probably minor "I shouldn't have taken alchemy!" or something.
Either way, I got this character to level 26 before and accidentally saved over. 500 or so different saves later on different characters, I've finally gotten back to her. Since I got a level 51 FIST fighter, a level 43 magic user (max level around 47 once I get blade to 100) and a level 33 warrior. With that experience, I should be able to get this thief past 26 without sucking. And experience has also given me an ability to powerlevel and get practically free training (draining a skill 100 points for 2 seconds and going to any ol' trainer).
That being said, I've discovered how "Umbra" the sword is early in the game. It's a quest item so it's WEIGHTLESS but does the damage of a sword that weighs 50 pounds. Keep in mind Sketali's blade skill is still only like, 30. While most swords tuned around her level only do 4-6 damage, Umbra does 12. Double the damage to her level. It's too bad she's a major bow-user (part of her story). but it's weightless and... undroppable, so might as well keep it around. It's related to the Clavicus Vile sword and according to the UESP.NET, it's supposed to weigh 45 pounds, which I assume it will if you choose to keep the sword during the quest. But on UESP, it's considered to be a quest to "start but not complete" just for this reason.
So far, so good.
But BEFORE that, I was on Assassin's Creed again, got another assassination in. It seems I can do about one assassination in a playing session before I just feel like getting back on Oblivion.
I want Xbox Live so bad, all those sweet mods for oblivion :(
Feb. 4. 2008[edit]
Beat my main mage's level record of 38 with a level 42, and COUNTING, because my blade skill is still at 60ish. It's slowly but surely leveling, as I finally got off my ass and got a daedric dagger to use with him. Not enchanted, but it doesn't need to be. I thought about getting the Goldbrand, but that sonofabitch is like 48 pounds, totally not worth it.
I really need to roleplay him more often, I got some of the most perfect clothing for his character. Very noble-like shiz.
He's about all I played.
Went to a church super-bowl "party" thing. The only two people I knew there was my brother and friend, but I wasn't around them the entire time. Felt very out of place, I was sitting there wondering how many of these teenagers running around were actually christian. There was even a goth'd out chick there. I know I'm not supposed to judge a book by its cover but damn, it would be nice to know THAT story.
Killing my bro n' friend on a 2v1 match of air hockey, that was sweet. They might have been screwing each other up but I take my achievements where I can get them, thank you.
Didn't even watch the game, I wanted to write "cowboys" or "redskins" on the winning team bet chart just to screw around, but I didn't.
Blah. 'tis all.
Feb. 1. 2008[edit]
Strangely, this entry is actually on the day of play (as opposed to the second notice on the top of this page).
Gave Assassin's Creed a whirl again. It's all fine when I'm in towns, running away isn't so bad now. Did the first assassination and now I can counter attack (which helps a lot). But going in between cities is the experience that kills the game for me. I can walk normal speed inside cities but outside, apparently the guards think "Ohshit, he's jogging. HE MUST BE AN ASSASSIN."
And onto Oblivion again.
My vampiric necromancer guy, wrote a short bio on my last entry. Got the clothing I wanted and got him to level 39 which was sufficient in making him a vampire. My theory was that at max level, being a vampire wouldn't be so difficult. Try doing the cure vampire quest at level 6 like my brother did. Too many places you don't have access to, you're speed is too low and you're too broke to buy a horse to speed up fast travel. It's a painful experience to be a vampire at a low level.
While not ANNOYING as a low level, managing the clock to avoid the sun is a time-consuming chore. Many quests take you to places 3-6 hours away, and when you arrive you either have to feed to get rid of the sun damage or rest/wait/hide for another 15 hours for it to be dark again. I spent more time waiting than playing. Being a vampire holds no decent rewards at all. At least in Morrowind there were about seven different quests. In Oblivion, there's ONE vampire quest. The cure.
Other than the relatively pathetic vampire abilities (many of which I already had, being a full-blown magic user), nothing in Oblivion makes being a vampire fun.
I'm thinking of going back to AC again, although my navigation skills suck hard and I can't find out how to get to Jerusalem. The map is of no help at all because I'm constantly going in the direction the map tells me to, and 6+ dead guards or so later (from walking an extra MPH apparently) I'm on some other path looking in the wrong direction. I hate that shit.
Perhaps I'll hop back on Gears and play through the vampaign by myself (my brother and I did a runthrough, I haven't actually played the thing by myself yet).
Jan. 31. 2008[edit]
This will be VERY short.
All I did yesterday was make a battlemage on Oblivion, similar to that level 38 I've mentioned earlier. Only "alchemy" was replaced with "restoration." And this time he's male. I'm blowing a hole through the SI expansion, not for the leveled loot but for the looks of the clothing this time. I want to get Sheogorath's Regalia and strut around in Cyrodiil with it. And I want to see what all that SI clothing looks like on a guy, as I have a habit of making primarily female characters (That was explained earlier). The difference is very radical. And sheogorath's clothes don't look too great on a female anyway. Good enchantments, shitty look.
Technically he's level 4+, but I'm purposely not leveling so everything in Shivering Isles is tuned to a level 1 so I can just hurry up with it. It's funny to see everything die from a 15 damage fireball.
Anyway, that's all I did.
Further Ideas:
Naaryin, an intelligent necromancer. This is not common as most Cyrodiliic necromancers are bent on the destruction of the Mages Guild and all they stand for. Naaryin is much like Hassildor in the sense that he is a part of the Mages Guild but mostly as an informant or contact. Naaryin is often called on for help in come extreme situations (IE: Mannimarco's return) and when the Mages Council chooses to use the "fight fire with fire" concept of war, by using dark magics against the necromancers. Naaryin is that kind of man, but hesitates killing people that share his own interest in magic.
To escape this political insanity, he fled to Sheogorath's Shivering Isles for a few weeks where he could experiment with impunity. He even aided Relmyna Verenim in some of her own experiments. Naaryin quickly became a well-looked upon Shivering Isles citizen, but he had to eventually return to Cyrodiil and attend to some duties as a noble.
[Technically, this is as far as I've gotten. I haven't even beaten the SI campaign with him but I hope to just grab Sheogorath's clothes and run back to the starter-area (after selling un-needed loot) and "beginning" there. My original plan was to just beat SI for the clothes, but the place suits him so well I decided to add the experience to his story. While he's not technically insane, he still IS indeed a Necromancer. Which reminds me, I need to get robes for him, too. I began SI as soon as I left the sewers. In the future, he'll also be a vampire but that is reserved for level 30+ like my last magic user. The only difference is, I don't give a shit about blade so I'll go get vampirism once all my magic stuff is maxed. Blade can stay at 26 for all I care.]
Jan. 30. 2008[edit]
Ohshi- I forgot I was using my friend's wirelesswhatever to get Live, so I can't play at my own home yet. I was so excited about playing Gears online I completly forgot that lil' detail.
So I tried Assassin's Creed again. I get pretty demoralized a while ago with it. I try to play for fun but when I do the slightest thing, walking one extra MPH gets the entire country against me. COUNTRY. I'm sorry, but "running my ass off" is not fun. What's demoralizing me NOW is the constant 20 on 1 fights are too common and takes too long. Takes away from the game. If it had the kind of GTA star-alert type thing, I'd be fine. But no, you do *one* thing and you're screwed.
So I got off that and back onto oblivion. Might have to uninstall KOTN altogether because it's too much trouble than it's worth. Earlier I had a follower problem, now some of my restoration trainers get killed, which is annoying for my knights and monks.
Nothing but problems yesterday, it seems. KOTN gives a badass suit of armor but that's ALL it gives. My daedric looks cooler anyway.
Jan. 29. 2008[edit]
XboxLive, under my OWN damn username of AvauntVanguard. I was previously SpectralSpadez, but that's a pre-set up Live username on my friends Xbox for people who are playing with him. But I gotz my own shit now. Though, the only multiplayer game I have is Gears of War.
First Impressions? Hilariously fun. I'm not too good but I get a kill in here and there. Gridlock seems to be my best map, I chainsaw'd three people in a row in one round. I got nicknamed "chainsaw masta", which only goes into effect on that particular map.
I didn't do much else yesterday because right out of school my friend came with my bro' to come pick me up and we just played together most of the day. They did play some GHIII but I suck ass at that so I didn't bother. Plus, only one guitar. My friend had to use the controller. Where's the fun in that?
Either way, Xbox Live is some good shit. Unless my brother pays for some extra months, I'll be off of it at Feb. 28-ish.
Jan. 28. 2008[edit]
Success. That level 47 I had suffered from a KotN glitch, a bad one. A constant follower that, while fought with me, still reported my crimes. I fixed my deleting and reinstalling KotN, which is awesome. Except I had to do the whole KoTn questline again, which is a price to pay to freely do crime again. That level 47 is now a level 50, all campaigns beaten. I think I'm the victim of a blood price thieves guild glitch but I'll fix or ignore that later.
I also remade my level 21. The first character I made at Christmas when I got my 360+Oblivion. Since I didn't know how to play as much, the character kind of sucked. 40 hours of gameplay, gone. 11 hours later that same type of character is a level 25 with 3 Master skills. I got more done and better only 1/4th of the time. Must be that experience thing.
Now for the real fun. I was at my friends house playing Gears of War, playing on Xbox Live with my friend for the first time. Unfortunately I was known as "SpiritualSpadez", which is basically the dummy username for anyone who plays with my friend. That could be up to four different friends using that same tagname. I wanted to rename it Vanguard, but I'll get live for myself some day.
I was in this game with some idiot called "Wikid". His username was longer but for the sake of arguement, let's call him Wikid. He was the most unsportful, vulgar moron you'd ever find on Live, methinks. Even my friend never met someone like this, and he's had Live for a few months now. He was throwing insults on the first two rounds that we were even IN the game. He won most of the games, he had nothing to bitch about. (When this was over we might have won 2 games, he won the other 3)
It gets better, this guy usernamed "DJ" (It also was longer, something like DJVOCO or some mess like that. Again, DJ.) Came in and whupped his pathetic ass across the map. Wikid was good, but not that good. Finally at the end of this little event, Wikid was yelling "YOU'RE ALL TRASH. GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT." Kicking everyone on our team out of his game, as he was the host. No one like that ever deserves to be the host.
EatLead (my bud) and I played with DJ for a while, who also kicked our asses, only was better about it. Now, I'm a good sport but I can take so much ass kicking before I get annoyed. Instead of bitching, I just get quieter and eventually just leave. That's my fault though, not his. I just don't enjoy losing over and over and over. I play games for fun, and being relentlessly slaughtered isn't fun. This is an attitude that came from my days of playing Unreal Tournament and hell, even Guild Wars!
But yea, that's all I got.
LATER THIS DAY... Signed on for my first month of free Live. Tag is AvauntVanguard. All those oblivion mods cost stuff. Sadsad. Still, multiplayer gears of war will have some fun times in the following month. Maybe more months if my brother pays some.
Jan. 24. 2008[edit]
Once upon a time I had a level 21 warrior. One of the first characters I made after I received my Xbox. I was unfamiliar with Oblivion Mechanics (well, more prepared then a TES newbie, as I did come from Morrowind) and had a few skills I never used. Beat the main quest and both expansions. There wasn't much more I could do to level up further.
Remade that character. Technically she's an Imperial Guard in my storyline, but I made her a nord for higher strength (trust me, it was much needed). I'm still a sand panda that her endurance still started at 55. Either way, She's level 7 now and not sucking. Well, the level 21 version didn't suck but I was practically done with everything. Either way, she's remade and doing better.
Still wondering how the hell I'm going to get my mage above level 38. All magic skills are maxed, but Alchemy, something I never use ever, is still at 55 or something. I can only train something 5 times per level. If everything else is maxed, and making potions isn't sufficient, how the hell am I going to level?
I'm not remaking her that's for damn sure. Even at 38 she's entirely too badass. I'm content with being stuck around level 38-40.
That's about it. Might delete my male nord warrior since I basically have that in a female version, TWO times. My fist fighter and my guard. Both nord. (One is an imperial storyline-wise.) So, there's no point in having him. He was cool, too. A black guy with thick, blonde, corn rows. A black nord. Kekeke.
I also got off my ass and did what the manuel told me to do, which is have a seperate save game right at the end of the char-gen sewers so you'll never have to go through the tutorials again. It's brilliant, I've stemmed two characters from that one save game. Definately a keeper.
Not sure where to go from here, every type of character imaginable, I've done. I guess I should try working as an alchemist. It's the final function I have yet to figure out or master. (Master in both knowledge AND the actual in-game perk).
Jan. 22. 2008[edit]
Blah. Remade my level 46. Doing something a little different. I read about exploiting the level-scaling thing by choosing a bunch of major skills that you'll never use. So, theoretically, I'll eventually have the abilities of a level 40 with the level scaling of a low level (Since i still have Acrobatics, Athletics, and Light Armor, I still level up. Albeit very, very slowly.) I made two save games in case the low level loot drives me insane. My second save file is still in the beginning sewers so I'll be able to plug my old major skills back in and dive into the world once again and level normally.
It's a work in progress. Got bored with it kinda quickly and beat Mass Effect for the third time. Trying to get my level 60 Achievement, and I'll be happy.
Jan. 18-21. 2008[edit]
Woo, what a weekend. The character I was talking about on my last blog entry is now level 46, beat my previous record of 38 with my mage. After some calculations, I concluded that I would have gotten to a max of 52-ish if it weren't for that [Problematic Glitch]. I got a lot done on Rikkeh. Level 46, Beat Knights of the Nine, Oblivion Crisis is over, and was a decent distance into Shivering Isles. Was Arch Mage (for some reason), escaped prison a few times for fun, etc. I had a lot of fun and it's a shame I'll have to restart her (see link).
Strangely, I'm not as heartbroken. It will be fun to explore the wild once more. The only thing I'll really miss much is beating the main quest (because it's a bitch) and maybe my few Master skills. (100 athletics is sweet) But that's really it. Even my sneak was irrelevant because I used Invisibility so damn much.
Quite proud of her as she is, nearly the entire game I went through with only 2 real armor points (+80 from shield stuff) with no real armor but only clothing. Fun stuff.
Anyway, that's all I did this weekend. Got a character to level 46, beat a few things. Glitched into restarting soon. Very sad.
Jan. 17. 2008[edit]
For anyone who wants Oblivion to be somewhat hard again, Put the difficulty meter on easy and USE HAND TO HAND. Not only does it add some element of challenge, it's also tons of fun.
What I'm doing is exploring (I know, what a concept. The actual basis of the game and I just fast travel between cities). First I train H2H if and when I can, then just go out into the wild and level another few things up. It's shocking how fast skills go up like H2H, Light Armor, Acrobatics, and Athletics when you're just screwing around in the wild. Hell, I may not even have to train. Go out in the wild at 0/10 skills.
And for the first time in a long time, I'm actually roleplaying this character somewhat. I'm wearin a black hood (IE: Necromancer's hood), huntsman vest, huntsman pants, and fur boots. It's the perfect garb for a wanderer. Hood only worn on rainy days. I avoid the Imperial City, except to sell stuff, but immediately leave.
Oh yeah, I did the arena with just fists too. I've never had such a hard time while having tons of fun at the same time.
I don't know how else to explain. A great skill. I assume with 100 H2H and these +20 bracers, I may eventually be doing 12-13 damage with my fists, which is ONLY half of what swords are with a blade of 90-ish. No weight. No disarming. Great stuff.
Jan. 16. 2008[edit]
Character making sucks, especially when you're trying to make something exactly specific. A while ago I had a pale argonian, trying to duplicate that got so annoying I did the exact opposite by making the argonian very, very dark red.
Just yesterday I was trying to remake my battlemonk, stealth/combat hybrid, mostly using fists. It was level 3 at first and had the cutest face evar. Tried to remake it and could NOT for the life of me, get the same face. I spent an hour using the "random face" thing, editing around to try and make the same character. I failed, I'll have to suffer with what I have.
Anyway, powerleveled my Battlemonk to level 16. Even though Hand-to-Hand is left in the dust (powerleveled Alteration to 100, Illusion about 50 points (5 levels) and snuck around the Dark Brotherhood's pet rat for a while, leveling sneak a few points so I won't be completely nüb when I actually *start* playing the game. Might have to spend a few K's to get H2H back on par. I powerlevel mostly for leveled loot, armor, and rewards. Most in-game rewards give you items that are on par with whatever level you are, and that's what I'm hoping for. Getting powerful items early on. Oh yea, and daedric quests.
I went to the Dark Brotherhood at level 3, didn't leave untill level 16. Took about two hours. Fighting will be annoying but some training sessions will fix that (and the Arena, which will be pretty annoying unless I do the training first.)
Before that, I actually DID roleplay. First thing, I avoided the Imperial City Completely. Just exploring, I got the entire space above Anvil explored. Any quest I will have in that area, I have about 7 explored places I can travel to and go from there. I thought about doing this some more, but at level 16 it will be a little more difficult than one-hitting wolves and bandits (Bandits who are now probably level 12-ish instead of, say, 2-ish.) So I'm a little wary of "living off the land" some more. I will try to stay on paths and continue to avoid the Imperial City.
I want to explore more but I don't want to fistfight a fucking minotaur either. Then again I've fistfighted Daedroths before and that wasn't TOO terribly bad.
Either way, I pray I won't have to branch off into a weapon category since I've never had a fistfighter this high a level before. Good news is my hitpoints are on par with a warrior's, so even though It may take me a while to kill something, I will take a beating that of a warrior (even though I'm wearing Light armor as well).
Eh, it's going to be an interesting character to play. If I can't handle the wilderness, it'll be interesting to try and stya secluded to cities (at least untill my H2H becomes non-suck).
Jan. 15. 2008[edit]
I skipped out on the Daedric armor for my level 38 battlemage-assassin. I just put it into storage for another time. Joined the thieves guild, did a few jobs. Amazing how quick and easy things are done with invisibility.
I hopped on my unique nord guy. Unique in the sense that I made him black (when do YOU ever see a black nord?) storyline wise, he's half redguard. A dangerous and badass combination. Two warrior-type races in one bulking package. He's a custom class, but essentially a warrior. I threw Alteration in there for 3 things: Powerleveling, unlocking, and shield spells. Mostly powerleveling, spamming "open very easy lock" on doors and crap. Does NOT take long at all.
Got him to level 6 before raiding rockmilk cave in hopes for Dwarven armor, got nothing, and went to bed. Zzz.
Jan. 14. 2008[edit]
I have something to say after all!
Debating whether I should have full Daedric on my new hybrid mage character. Got the armor, but I am so god awefully slow it's not even funny. And my light armor is 37 while my Heavy armor is still at a pathetic 7. I may just set the daedric to the side (in my Skingrad house) and stay as I am now. Still, daedric seems so much more fitting for battlemage-type character.
I got one hell of a to-do list for Oblivion when I get home today.
I'll be archiving this soon, at the 32k page limit.
Jan. 11-13. 2008[edit]
Nothing BUT Oblivion. My mage went from level 7 to 38 in just a couple of days. You could say "powerlevel", as I spam low-level spells untill the skill is 100. Did that for about 4 different magic schools. Then I got smart.
I would spam-level one thing 5 times then train something else different 5 times. Should have done that a WHILE ago. For this case, I trained in blade. Not the most useful skill but I leveled it for many reasons: Backup. Magicka does run out. And loot space, each strength gives 5 pounds more to my encumberance, to which I use a lot when looting. To date I have about 370 encumberance+more with enchantments, which is much better than the 150 I started with. (Which was fine for levels below 20, as I never had/needed more than 30 pounds of equipment, I didn't bother with armor.) Untill level 30-ish, I armed this mage with some enchanted glass equipment from bandits. Light armor skill may be low but 27 armor rating is better than 4 that I had from random boots and gloves.
Yeah, Carol my mage is all I've been playing. She's very hybrid-like, does a bit of everything ranging from magic and into stealth and a little into combat. I recently discovered the sheer power of Invisibility, so I blew a whole through the dark brotherhood quests, even with a sneak skill as low as 35 (which is low when I'm sneaking around things leveled with me, as they would obviously have a higher sneak than me at this point.) May get into the thieves guild eventually, and even fighters since my blade is now on par with my level. (still 75-ish, but it would have been stuck at 25-ish had I just ignored it.)
Customized my own Destruction spell that basically does 80 damage, 20 points from 4 different sources. So when I encounter something that's immune to say, fire damage, it will still take 60 points from damage health, shock, and frost. Better than spell-switching.
A neat discovery on-par with invisiblity. The main quest I was always scared to do without anything but a warrior-type character. This scar comes from trying to shut an oblivion gate down with a high level thief, and it ended very badly. Didn't die, but I barely did any damage and the damage I did relied on sneak attacks -- which couldn't be done every time. Try fighting a fucking daedroth with a fucking dagger. I dare you.
But with my customized 80-damage spell, I one hit those damn daedroths and 2-3 shot everything else. And I am armed with Goldbrand and it is a worthy backup (22 damage, as opposed to 16 or lower from daggers) when magicka is run out. Oblivion Gates aren't so scary with my battlemage. Customized class, "domini", I couldn't think of anything at the time because I knew this character wasn't going to be a pure mage from the start. And what I'm doing with her now, "Mage" does not do her justice.
So I'm just on the beginning of "Allies for Bruma" untill I had to surrender the xbox to my cousin to play Guitar Hero 3, which is my brother's and I never touch that cursed game. But yeah, that's why this entry is entered on the day I actually played this particular session (read the second notice on the top of this page). Hell, tomorrow at school I might not have much to say since today's entry was actually entered today! Still, my gametime is not over yet.
Toodles.
Jan. 10. 2008[edit]
Didn't touch Oblivion. Mass Effect all da way. Got to level 50 on my female Vanguard (biotic/combat class, pistols and shotgun training only, I stuck with pistols). Forgot to increase the difficulty, it's still on casual... but once I beat it again I'll be able to play for a third time, starting as a level 50. It will be glorious. It's shocking how badass pistols can be, for being the lowest damage weapon type.
I also started a male Soldier, because I've seen how powerful assault rifles can get (on my vanguard chick) and I really want to train in them. It's aweful starting out though because the accuracy is just BAD. Even though I knew it would be a rough start going in, but it's still frustrating when I'm dead broke (my vanguard has exceeded 4 million credits) and can't buy some of the badass Spectre weaponry. good news is I know how much those things cost so the SECOND I amass that money (around 400k) I'll be buying my soldier a really, really nice assault rifle.
New discovery: Killing things gives you credits too. I thought this was hilarious when my level 48 was shooting a geth, killed, and recieved like 12,000 credits. I wish my level 11 soldier was like that.
I also found out the loot is pretty much leveled. Even at casual difficulty. My pistol isn't even at it's max damage (the damage bar isn't full, like I've seen some shotguns and AR's have) so I'll be starting up again on normal difficulty with my level 50 (she might be level 51/52 by the time I finish) in hopes to get an even more badass pistol.
And that's all I did.
To summarize: Got to level 50 on a female vanguard. Made a male soldier, currently level 11.
Jan. 9. 2008[edit]
Played Mass Effect, doing the next difficulty with my level 45-ish character. I might end up beating the game 4 times with the same girl. That's all I did yesterday.
I DID do two dark brotherhood quests on my remade spectre on Oblivion. Leveled up once, then hopped on Mass Effect.
Jan. 8. 2008[edit]
Beat Mass Effect. Very epic, pretty much movie quality.
Brother is getting into Oblivion, which is cool because I like talking about random TES stuff, especially since he played Arena and Daggerfall before I even got INTO gaming.
I saved over my level 25 Spectre,(a hybrid class, technically she is a spy but also a thief/assassin when need be) which is entirely coincidental with my Mass Effect playing. Sketali, my character, predates my experience with Mass Effect. I was so heartbroken but at the same time, I get to do the Thieves and Dark Brotherhood quests all over again! I didn't do anything wrong the first time but they were so fun and went by entirely too quickly. I am powerleveling her, which is sad but hilarious. I made it to level 5 in the first Aeylid ruin across the exit from the sewers. Illusion spell spamming and sneaking around things. 50+ in sneak at level 1. Brilliance.
My only regret is my marksman will slightly be left in the dust. I'll fix that soon enough. I also regret that I kept blade, as my level 25 never even used it. (32 blade at level 25). Even up close I just poked people with arrows. The only time I need a dagger is DB quests, which are over quickly.
That's all I really did yesterday. Beat Mass Effect. Saved over a level 25 oblivion character. What a day.
Jan. 7. 2008[edit]
I kind of overplayed Oblivion. Slightly bored, blew through entire factions too quickly and it leaves me with little to do. I should try fighters guild with my wizard or something. good thing I have many other 360 games.
Played and nearly beaten Mass Effect, got through a romantic storyline (hawtness) finally. Even though I'm a masochistic bastard who played the female-female romance sub-plot, even I am a little perturbed at the lack of possible man-man romance. I just don't like leaving those doors closed. I mean look at games like; Bully. Not even a damn RPG (in a sense) and still enables your character to swap spit with dudes. Jade Empire (never played the man-man romance on that one, I should have though). And Fable was the easiest to be gay of them all. (While I found a buff man in a dress to be disgustingly histarical, I never went homosexual on that particular game). Still, the man-man romance on Mass Effect is a door that should have been opened up, damnit.
On top of that annoyance, the beginning of the game includes way too much damn dialogue. Of course i'll pay attention the first playthrough but afterwards there's really know point once you know what they're going to say (all but your own character). Regardless, it's a fun game that I plan on beating 4 times, two as female and two as male with good side and bad side. I have yet to figure out if that even has an effect on the game. Can't wait to kill Wrex or something.
And if all else fails I still have Gears of War. I'm scared of that game though. Not because it's a scary game, but even on easy it's... kinda hard. I think I'm on act 4 or something.
Also, side note, unlocking achievements is t3h fun.
Dec. 26. 2007 to Jan. 5 2008[edit]
And now for something completely different.
But not totally. The day after christmas I gained enough christmas money to afford TES4: Oblivion for the 360 I was gifted with. I actually cried when I opened it. I don't cry. That's how awesome it was.
A week or so later I have a level 24 thief (still 23, in the process of locating a bed), who blew a whole through the last Thieves guild mission. That was almost too easy. Should have pumped the halls with more guards.
A level 20 Guard (warrior, basically) who beat the main story FINALLY. Took my ass long enough. Might never do the main story with a non warrior character ever again.
A level 7-ish (two skills away from 8) mage, a type of character I purposely avoided untill I really knew the mechanics of Oblivion. Even though I came in decently prepared from being a die-hard fan of Morrowind, things still changed. I was also shocked on how quickly I blew through the first few levels. The first six levels on Oblivion are usually the slowest and worst. But the more I play, the more characters I make, the faster I seem to be leveling. Must be that experience thing.
Part of me wants to remake my thief on the basis that the Dark brotherhood and thieves guild are just so damn fun. I wish I could just go back and do them again with my now beefy level 24 thief. (I pretty much did both those questlines under level 10. Of course I could have been higher but with my experience I probably COULD do them under 10.)
Beat both the expansion packs too. The Shivering Isles is a splendid play through madness which I have incredible fun with. And it's not too hard to do even with my thief who can't stab at anyone to save her life. I pretty much rely on stealthy one-shot bow kills and if I don't kill something with that one hit, I got problems. But even Shivering Isles was a splendid play-through. My only predicament is that, as a major roleplayer, I have to find some kind of loophole for each of my characters and why they don't go completely insane in Sheogorath's madness realm, as many people do upon entering it. I made my warrior half insane, a short and simple way. My thief is a daywalking vampire, so she's obviously seen some shit in her life to make her resistant to most of the madness. That was only loophole I was proud of because it makes sense, while my warrior loophole I still think is kind of pathetic.
For my mage, I won't make her crazy, but when I put her into the Shivering Isles story, she'll be more like a scholar, studying the area with fascination instead of addiction and craziness. Should be fun.
I still await my wireless reciever so I'll be able to get some downloadable content like the Wizard's Tower for Wizards (ogm.) and a sunken shipwreck for thieves.
That's all I got for now. Ta. Come back again, or I'll pluck your eyes out.
Dec. 23. 2007[edit]
Excitment for Morrowind is winding down. This blog may turn out to be a normal blog just yet! (Well, when GW comes back around it'll be a blog just on Guild Wars)
Wrote a somewhat harsh review on [Vvardenfell Libraries]. Mostly because I can, and every mod that people just seem to praise for no reason, always needs a black sheep to point out the crap in it. I love having 1000+ more books in the game, but the mod clumps them all nearly in one room and fucks my computer up. Needs more space, in my opinion.
My own mod gets more downloads by the day but doesn't seem to get any more actual comments. Very sad.
I need to rummage through more games, Morrowind is losing it's spark (yet again). Or I need to fiddle with the CS some more, although I have no idea what I would make. The only thing I can do is edit weapons, place NPC's and make houses. Not much more than that.
Dec. 21. 2007 -Screenshots!-[edit]
Screenshots! First we have [Ashgul,] my Khajiit mercenary. Then I have six more images of pretty much the same chick.
Here is Randa [Starting out.] Only two promotions later and she's packin' [a bit more]. A little more after that, she gets more [hero-like]. Finally, she becomes [second in command]. But some unfortunate things happen and she has to [change her hair] and use an out-of-the-way [unused tower.] Lucky for her, the Imperial legion claims that the crimson cross armor is given to more than one of their heroes, regardless if they are not seen as much as Randa is.
Eventually she makes her way to the top, getting the [Paladin's sword], but her life is still in the sway of corruption that she can only hope to break out of some day.
Dec. 20. 2007[edit]
Didn't do much. Gave my brother the computer after a couple hours worth of play yesterday. Got a bunch of new mods i'll screw around with when I get home today. Got a massive face replacer for EVERY single NPC in all three games so I have yet to see that in action. That's about it. May add more later.
Dec. 19. 2007[edit]
Brother's birthday today. He's like, 25 now.
But on to the important stuff. Remade Randa the imperial guard. Imperial Dragon, rather, keke. Level 60, everything maxed exept Luck, Axe and Spear (both strangely at 63, luck is still at 49 or something). And her storyline is taking a dark turn, which was unexpected but then I think: All of my characters are sinister or corrupt in some manner. Even when I TRY to make a good natured character, someone ends up hurt anyway. She was a noble guard, but due to blackmail she's running around terrorizing civilians for their rent money, which will end up going to the imperial legion.
Now, deep down Randa will always be good natured, she's just simply being manipulated and will always be a "Good guy", she just needs to get out of her rut. But not after killing some people (think: Kill Bill, that chick was the protagonist but killed hundreds of people first) and many others will be hurt.
Didn't touch the CS because I kept trying to kill the Dark Brotherhood master guy in Mournhold but it keeps crashing when he dies. Either it's the DB armor replacer or it's the "talk as soon as dies" script that keeps screwing me over. Either way, I had to abandon my "Dark Brother Genocide" and left back to terrorize civilians. Randa will head to Solstheim soon to help and head the Raven Rock expedition (the corrupt side obviously, as she's been ordered to get the most money out of it. Again, manipulated). Should be an interesting roleplay.
Dec. 18. 2007[edit]
Brother is really getting into making stuff. He wants me to be his partner in crime when it comes to making a questline. I think I finally convinced him to abandon his hopeless attempt a [total conversion], which is good since it's too much for us two to handle for a very long time. I convinced him to start small, we both need to learn how to mess with dialogue before we do anything else.
My mod finally made it onto [Planet Elder Scrolls], which to my understanding is a very high traffic site. It was accepted into the site just yesterday morning and had 22 downloads and a few comments when I checked it last night. My school is blocking PES so I'm not sure what the numbers are now. I'm just very proud of my first mod. Not because it's decent, but because of the time I spent on it. A lot of n00bie mods throw something together in an hour and slap it on a download site "hopeing it r gud". Not me, I ran it through the game many times before bothering to .zip if up and upload it. Encountered a few problems so it's a good thing I did (problems which are fixed now.)
As for actual gaming, I haven't played for like 4 days, but I will hop back on today to remake my guard. Chances are I'll be fiddling with the CS again now that I know how to use it ^_^
Dec. 14-17. 2007[edit]
Didn't play as much. Spending more time with the Construction Set than the actual game, but I still didn't do much with that this weekend. Had to go places. I did put the romance mod back on so I seduced here and there but it got boring very quickly, and I'm going to have to remake Randa the Imperial guard, and cheat less. Gave her a full suit of noble iron (from "Ultimate Knight Shop") at the beginning. For a few days I was running around with 230/250 encumberance and trust me, it was a bitch. So, I'm remaking and going to play normally. I'm going to try and avoid using the "Balmora University" mod too, but I'm leaving it there in case getting training money becomes too much of an annoyance.
I shuffle between mods so much I have to remake a lot of characters very often.
As my mods go, the "Murderous Residence" one is out. All the kinks listed on my Dec. 13 blog are fixed. I learn if I wanted to make a custom container, renamed cupboard or something, I have to duplicate it, not edit what's there. Instead of a note I just made a full blown journal as the storyline behind the house. Gave it items from Tribunal and Bloodmoon instead of Assassins' Armory (since not everyone uses that). And it is indeed around Caldera, tucked in the hills and it's very nicely hidden. Not sure how many downloads it has but there are about 5-10 confirmed people that use the house for their vampires and necromancers.
Dec. 13. 2007[edit]
Splendid news! People actually WANT my mods! I've been asking about help on this simple house mod I've been doing, that caters to darker characters. (described in the Dec 12 blog entry) and a couple people actually would like to have it. I got a few kinks to work out:
- I accidentally made all torches have a "red" flame instead of the firey "orange" color it's supposed to emit.
- I need to make the notes read like notes and not books or scrolls.
- Need to replace all the weapons that are normally Assassin's Armory stuff with generic weapons from Tribunal, Bloodmoon, or Morrowind.
- Need to MOVE the house from outside Balmora to the mountains around Caldera.
I need that mess worked out and we are indeed in business.
As for characters, remade Sketali again. Now a level 41 Assassin. WHITE argonian, it's hawt. Gotta make her a vampire now and get her in the Morag Tong, and I'm set. Before I work on Sketali I will need to finish the house mod, which takes a good chunk of gametime but it's totally worth it.
Dec. 12. 2007[edit]
Didn't do *much* which is a mixed blessing. Got Ashgul a few levels, nothing spectacular. Which means I'm playing them for real and avoiding cheats hardcore. It's awesome.
I did however spend 2 hours on the CS. I *can* make interiors now, but not without copying some other interior for use, because I tried making a house interior from scratch and it was the most annoying thing ever. It's like a "one light goes out, they all go out" scenario with christmas lights. So instead I just stole the interior of Cauis Cosade's house and pasted it on my own, and just deleted everything but the bed, pillow, and walls. I made it into a creepy hideout, the only problem is that it's not really a good hideout since it's just a few steps away from Balmora's silt strider. IE: Not far from the biggest city in the game. And in the open, no less.
Oh well, it's a work in progress. The interior is HOT. With a skeleton on the bed and a nordic claymore shoved into his ribs. Across from that is a sweet area for weapons/armor display. Added a nord dancer girl just for laughs, gonna remove. I plan on replacing the nord dancer for an argonian dancer, see if the dancing animation works the same way. Cross your fingers for me.
Of course, I won't be doing any of this immediately since I've got 5 hours of school left.
All in all it was a good experience, finally learning how to use the Construction Set. The only thing I really need to learn is dialogue. I got it so that the whole world won't say the same thing, but my specific NPC's won't say what they're supposed to. I plan on giving them the "nolore" script and see what happens.
Dec. 11. 2007[edit]
Morrowind is running fine again, if not better. We sacrificed a few mods but I admit, I can't really tell which ones. Which is how it should be. I'm taking more time on my character because I'm not trying to rush myself to places I know there might be free modded stuff or easily acquired.
I didn't do much yesterday because my brother was off work, so he had the whole day.
Though my "Biographies of Legend" mod is coming relatively nicely. I made it so the custom dialogue topics aren't being said and used by EVERYONE, but my new NPC guys still aren't saying what I want them to say. Still, I have them in the game, clothed, proper faces and hair. Matthias is wearing Dark brotherhood armor (with the DMDB texture replacer, armor looks more ninja/assassin like rather than black chitin >_>) Shad'Artael is wearing the expensive purple robe (like the mantle of woe in bloodmoon, but not wearing that one) like I've always had him wear, and Dalyn is wearing the bonemold armor, as my first character I made 6 years ago and that's the first set of armor. So I'm still using that on him.
The books on those three characters are nicely placed in the rare books shop with Matthias standing right beside them. Mod is going good, once I add about two more books and get the dialogue to work, we're in business.
Dec. 7-10. 2007[edit]
Was messing with the CS trying to make my own NPC and f'd up the entire dialogue of the game. Had to reinstall. I figured out how to make books and I am able to place items around places. I wrote two books, biographies on my three main characters I refer to as "the three brothers". I was going to take it a step further and place one of the subject matters (IE: one of the brothers) standing around the bookstore saying things like "Yeah, I'm here seeing what they wrote about me". But I load up the game and EVERYONE is saying that. Even ordinators. So, yeah. Welcome to the CS, my brother told me.
Anyway, onto the actual characters. I had Ashgul wearing Dark Brother armor for a while, but it didn't fit well. I finally got her to solstheim and dressed her up exactly how she should have. Got her in snow wolf armor finally, but I need to find that damn NoGlow mod.
That's about it. I had to clear out the morrowind folder entirely because it won't uninstall properly. Come on Bethsda, is an "uninstall" wizard so difficult? So... I haven't had time to put it back on yet most of my characters are gone. When I do reinstall I'm going to cut down on the mods.
Dec. 7. 2007[edit]
Not much progress today since I pretty much just woke up and won't be able to touch a computer with internet for the next three days. I can't play morrowind on my own computer this morning because my brother is exploiting the sneak function by putting something heavy on the sneak key and telling ME not to get on for a while. Bastard.
Anyway, Remade Ashgul the merc and Sketali the assassin. Roleplaying them around a bit. I think I cheated too much too quickly because I got tired of them both within the hour. Oh well, we'll see how it goes later. I cheated a lot less on Ashgul, oh! Which reminds me;
Ashgul was super fun with the "in jail at vivec" alternate beginning. It equips you with a lockpick and a level 15 lock and an ordinator that never turns around. Oh, and a 0 bounty. Hot. But anyway, I roleplayed a bit, slept and got attacked by the Dark Brotherhood. Dispatched him with fists and took his clothes. And Proceeded to assassinate the Guard (even though this isn't my assassin character, Ashgul isn't one to take chances with just "sneaking" by). She also initiated a jailbreak with 3 NPC's who apparently like to stay there. Lotsa fun. Can't wait to play her more.
If you haven't noticed I do have an abundancy of female characters. Shouldn't be creepy, since it balances out with the thousands of hours I put onto Matthias on many other games. Not so much on MMO's that don't really have a first person view, I don't like looking at a dude's ass for 8 hours (8 hours being my average gameing time a day, more on weekends obviously), ergo, female characters ahoy. Ashgul was once a male but was slightly too stereotypical for a mercenary so went a different direction with reworking a storyline by making it female and telepathic. Yes, Telepathic. I haven't fleshed that one out yet.
Check back on Sunday or Monday. Maybe earlier if I can sneak on this computer (Using my grandmother's is taboo and grounds for murder around here.)
Dec. 6. 2007[edit]
"Alternate Beginnings" works like a charm. I have an Imperial Guard who was able to start in Gnisis, because that's where you go to join the Imperial Legion anyway. Perfect! I regret it slightly though, because of the completely revamped Seyda Neen mod I used, although it makes Morrowind run a little slower.
Game performance issues out of the way: I've discovered that Morrowind runs smoothly when I get the game going. but when I enter another modded area it turns into a speedy slideshow, and it's extremely annoying. I suspect it might be the Knights armor my character wears, but I'll be experimenting by making a new character later today. It's probably due to the mods, because the game doesn't slow down untill I get to an area that a mod is active.
That aside, I've got a very neat woman imperial guard, level 16, Knight of the Imperial Dragon. Screenshots? Eventually. got her leveled pretty quickly, but I abuse the "coc" command intensily. But "coc-transporting" places is no different than Fast Travel on Oblivion to me, so I'm not much guilty about it. (and trudging through the slowness just to get to where I need to go is aggrivating.)
Blah, enough about that, though. More about the character itself. Her name is Randa, started out as a simple Imperial guard and quickly worked her way up. In mid-rank she got upgraded knight armor, and at the top of the chain she was awarded with Crimson Cross armor (again, screenshots eventually.) And that's about where she is now. Soon she'll be doing some jobs in Mournhold, then trudging back to Solstheim to help out her fellow comrades.
Other than the slideshow effect my computer likes to make Morrowind do, I'm having a relatively good time. The first few minutes are fun but then i'm forced to "coc" all over the place because it would take hours to get to a simple area.
Dec. 5. 2007[edit]
Brother is back into Morrowind now that I've got it all set up. It was laggy, slideshow-like at first but I see now that the system was just getting used to the game, as it smoothes out over time. The mods don't help much with the performance, but they do help the gameplay. My plan to use the school computers to email myself files didn't work, my yahoo email never got the attachments, or the emails even. Not even the funny little "install now" messages I sent myself.
Regardless, I still got the files I needed. All I need now is a few more mods, simple crap like "leggings for beasts", A better Seyda Neen expansion, and a mod that changes your starting area between 30 different areas that include:
- - Exploring around Dagon Fel
- - Stepping onto the docks at Ebonheart
- - Getting something to eat in Caldera
- - Browsing the market as Gnisis
- - Drowning in a shipwreck on the east coast
- - Hiding from the law
- - Diving for pearls near Pelagiad
- - Hunting in the Grazelands
- - Working in the fields
- - Collecting ingredients on the Bitter Coast
- - Grave Robbing in a tomb near Balmora
- - Studying in the Balmora Mages Guild
- - Gathering firewood in the Wilderness
- - In prison at Vivec
- - Shipwrecked on a beach
- - Fighting a battle in the Vivec Arena
- - Setting up camp near Khuul
- - Working as a commoner in Maar Gan
Still not sure if you get to CHOOSE between these or if it's random. Either way, it'd be a handy mod to have. Not sure how the character creation side would work but I'm still at school, so I might find out later.

Dec. 4. 2007[edit]
Oh, joyous day! Morrowind works on my new computer. It took an hour or two for the computer to "get used" to it, because at first it was running very jerky. I also got the sound working. I was under the impression you had to, uh, "install" speaks or something. Yeah, I'm an idiot sometimes.
I'm not roleplaying as hardcore as I'd like to. 50% of the mods I want are .rar or .ace, and the computer I speak of has no intarwebs. Problematic. I plan on remedying this eventually. As for actual playing, right now I'm working with my exiled Dremora and my Nord hunter, which is very difficult to do since I'm really cutting down on cheating. (Avoiding money cheats unless I'm Roleplaying getting paid, then it's justified.) When I get more mods working I'll be working with my new favorite character; Khajiit hunter/mercenary with a MOHAWK. Yes. A fucking MOWHAWK. Screenshots eventually.
Added: I am KING. I am so brilliant I almost can't stand it. I downloaded WinRAR and winAce to the school computer, then emailed it to myself. Then I'll burn it onto a CD and transport it to the computer that has Morrowind and NO internets. Bingo, the mods I can't get I can suddenly get. Bow before my brilliance, bitches.
Dec. 3. 2007[edit]
I'll be getting back into Morrowind soon. Got a new computer. Still doesn't have internet access but it runs pretty well and has 17 GB to mess with. I'm estimating it normally has 50GB, but my friend had so much crap on it. I uninstalled a few things that I knew or recognised as things I won't need or use. Some things I don't even know or heard of. It's got a lot of DELL software on it and I have no idea what's needed and what isn't. 30 minutes of work and I cleared .1GB worth of mess. Sigh.
I've tried this on my other computer before but for some reason the Morrowind menu didn't load up when I started the game, I'm afraid it might because I have no sound, no speakers installed.
But anyway, yeah. Morrowind. It can still fit and I've got my couple hundred mods on a CD I can put on the computer. I'm going to try to cheat a lot less, I'll do the obligatory cheat-endurance at level 2 to give myself a free hundred+ hitpoints but that's about it. I plan on wearing the same armor throughout the game (AKA: Roleplaying), weapon might change though. Not for the damage (mods add max stull in low level areas) but as the story moves on.
I still have so many characters I want to roleplay in this fashion (same armor for the whole game, I've never done). I've got a Khajiit hunter with a mohawk. I have my 400 year old Argonian thief/assassin. And I've got an evil overlord/murderer. I'm torn between the first two. I play my argonian entirely too much so I might go with my hunter.
My only obstacle is the no-speaker software thing. If the game can't play music it might not let me play at all.
