Carla Maindeglace (born 1048 AE) is an Ascalonian living in Elona. She is the younger sister of Phileas Maindeglace. She is brash and easily upset, but dedicates herself fervently to the task at hand.

Carla grew up on the east side of Ascalon. At quite an early age she became jealous of the attention her brother got from her parents, while she was comparitively ignored. This caused her to develop a great dislike of her family, and it was because of this that she left home in 1066 AE, with enough money to buy passage over the Shiverpeaks and a trip across the Sea of Sorrows on a merchant vessel. Carla disembarked at the ship's destination in Istan. Seeking a way to outperform her brother, she discovered the Order of the Sunspears and decided to enlist for combat training. She chose to study the native dervish discipline, and was assigned to train under First Spear Keima Kirisu. Her dedication allowed her to rise quickly through the ranks, and by 1075 AE she was a commander, under then-General Keima.

In 1075 AE, Carla was one of the Sunspears investigating Tahlkora's allegations against Warmarshal Varesh and General Kahyet, responsible for the discovery of their plans to bring Nightfall. She was later reunited with her brother Phileas when Spearmarshal Kormir recruited him among other foreign heroes, and over time her resentment of him faded and she grew to see him more as a person than as a rival. Just before the assault on Gandara, Carla was promoted to the rank of General, which she held throughout the subsequent war despite becoming second-in-command when Keima was elevated to Acting Spearmarshal after Kormir's disappearance. After Abaddon's defeat and Keima's formal inauguration as Spearmarshal, Carla was elevated to the position of Raidmarshal.

In 1078 AE, during a diplomatic visit to Kryta, Carla investigated a series of earthquakes and became trapped beneath Lion's Arch along with several of her old allies. She subsequently met Ogden Stonehealer and Vekk, and became embroiled in the battle against the Destroyers. She was part of the attack squad sent to fight the Great Destroyer. Afterwards, she returned to Elona.
