Look i understand that there are some skills that need to be nerfed for the economys sake PermaSF that was an unbalanced skill ill give you that. Ursan is pretty good skill too. but why is it that wen any one skill that is in fact an elite skill do you wanna make it suck? i recognize the need for balance but jesus Light of Deliverence? Your only display of noobery is your infrequency of signing on your own talk page, friend. It's not a sign of noobery to have trouble with signatures, though, and I was pretty close to asking for help before it finally came to me. If you enable raw signatures, it allows you to put code around your whole signature, and to change the order of links. If you want a picture, you have to upload one to the name of Image:User Briar sig.png and make it redirect to either your talk page or user page. If you want a font, you'd have to put your coding inside the link, as so using my sig as an example, changed to your name: Briar. If anyone can get font outside of the link to work, be my guest to contradict me. Not all religions have histories of blood, the vlad the impaler thing is a huge assumption and probably inaccurate. Nor do the bloody religions necessarily promote bloodshed today. There are some wonderful, loving, truly decent people who believe in God, or Allah, or whomever. Free passes should not be given because of someone's religion, but personal religion should not be arbitrarily ridiculed.

Religion should remain religion and stay out of things like government or public protocol, because not everyone believes in the Christian God so not everyone who is resident in America wants to submit to Christian overtones.

On one hand religion is very important on a personal level, it promotes belief and many people, educated free thinking people suggest belief is an extremely important thing for the human. On another hand it's a very dangerous entity that can be used to enslave the mind and subjugate the masses. Parent's who literally start crying in grief because their child does not hold the same religious beliefs as them, that is awful, that is the result of the exploitation and corruption of religion. Science professors wanting to teach creationism, science professors .... What?

I have a problem with religion because of its negative social results. At the same time I love it because it gave us tomes upon tomes of wild and fantastic fantasy. Being so widely prejudice to the point where you just simply hate everything about every religion isn't something to be proud of. What I got from this is "If I ever meet a practitioner of Wicca, they're a bad person because I think religion is an evil bloodshed conspiracy, so I hate that person." Some things in this world, you're going to see the darkness in them and it's going to beg you to hate. But excessive hate is like drinking poison in order to hurt someone else. I dont hate people who are religious. I hate people who think their religion makes them better than everyone else. And seeing as 99.9% of people ive met that are religious will try to shove their religion down your throat ive come have a very VERY bad opinion of religioin in general. And yes, Every single religion does have a history of violence and bloodshed. I defy you to name one single acknowledged religion that doesnt have a bloodlist longer than the combined kills of every serial killer in the history of america (and i only use america here because with the exception of Jack the ripper im not familiar with any serial killers anywhere else in the world). I will admit, it is a feasible idea that decent people do exist in the world that follow the teachings of their bible. Not just the parts they like, or rather, are scared of. But their bible as a whole. The whole "Not shoving it in peoples faces 24/7" is a big factor of this. And while none of the major religions condone the killing of other religious factions now, they have done so in the past. Anything that has ever at anytime condoned the act of murder for the simple fact that someone doesnt beleive the same thing you do is a bad idea to become involved with. This is my opinion and its not going to change untill i meet a decent ammount of religious folk that i dont end up despising. Alice i think very highly of you as both a player and a person (reading your wiki posts) But you should really drop this like ASAP. Because i can name at least 3 genocides commited by every major religion and every faction of that major religion. Off the top of my head in fact. Some of them less than a few hundred years ago. They are NOT in search of a higher form, theyre in search of englightenment. Big difference. Lol. Look its very simple, a religion is defined by the idea of otherworldly creatures (gods, spirits, angels) playing a role in our lives. And how to appease them. That has been the idea behind religion since the dawn of time. If there are no otherworldly creatures as a focus of the organization then it isnt a relgion. Buddhism or bhuddism however you wanna spell it, is a discipline. Begotten by a MAN with no name, only a title: The Buddha. It is a path to SELF enlightenment. And while i havent studied this jainism association, from what i have read it sounds like the same thing. There are no otherworldly powers that have any focus whatsoever in this so called "religion". It is all about you, the individual, and showing you a way to live your life to find enlightenment and peace with yourself. Not all religions have to do with "pleasing a spirit or [deity]." Several Buddhist schools detail some sort of beginning/creation. Some describe The Buddha as a god (namely Mahayana, one of the largest). Most include an afterlife. All include a set of beliefs concerning the purpose and relationships of the universe (and not to mention reincarnation, karma, and spirits... if you don't consider that at least slightly religious, then I don't know what is). No matter! I'll write some about it too! Firsts, I don't think Hindu have made it very far into the war business, and many other different religions, cults, orders etc etc. Second, Christianity is mostly separated into two major blocks: Catholics and Protestants. I understand your view upon Catholics, and as Mr Paladin clarified alongside someone else I spoke to in-game, they have their reasons; I don't agree with them, but that's how it rolls in non-Math or Physics material. Now, the Protestants are something special; they swipe away how the Church used/uses fear to "express" religion, and take the Jewish method: religion through the faith in God, not the fear of "Do this or go to Hell". So accusing all Christians of that act is stupid, bottom line. Now, I don't understand or know enough of the Muslim ways, so I can't say anything about them that'll be good for this argument, so onto Judaism. Judaism is probably the cleanest and filthiest of religions, being made of so many inner conflicts and confusing terms, that if you don't ask or know enough about the Bible, you might interpret it wrong or you won't understand it at all. For example, take the sentence "An eye for an eye" - it is the widespread view that it means "You killed my brother, I will kill yours" or "You took my arm, I will take yours" - that is the Muslim (I think?) translation of that sentence, when the true translation is actually about trade: as you probably know, traders exchanged goods, and not goods for money, so for example I give you my 50 eggs and you give me your 40 cabbages; that's what the sentence really speaks of, making a fair deal. Just to clarify this, I am probably a fanatic about anti-God ways, as I question everything he supposedly did (I even found out he made a humane mistake and Moses fixed him! >:D), but I am still human amongst humans.

Oh no titan. I totally agree with you. I am very rash, very impulsive, very hot headed, and VERY predjudiced. But the predjudice extends to things i categorize as "Mass stupidity". Religion happens to fall under one of those categories. i didnt actually read your whole post though. lol. • Protestantism has ninety billion denominations, only a few of which really adhere to what you call "the Jewish method" (obtw, what were the pharisees up to? As you can see, even "the Jewish method" was practiced by those who don't get the point).
• An eye for an eye certainly meant the bloody deed and not just trade; the idea of "fair repayment" continues there, just as with the various commands like stone your children when they disobey in a particular way and stone adulterers (have fun in Leviticus); nor did Jesus mean "lol make unfair deals" when he said "You have heard it said 'An eye for an eye,' but I tell you...".
• Indeed, the Bible has several factual errors (or at least that conflict with our other recorded history); for example, in Mark he writes there is a certain king at some time and it turns out Roman records disagree. But Paul writes in one of the epistles that "all scripture is good for instruction and raising up", which means either he had no clue and is wrong or the Bible's main point is not to communicate historical facts (as in the Math/Physics fields if you like?).

Seeing people dissect the bible to try to substantiate whatever they're presenting doesn't sit well with me. The bible has had 2,000 or so years of human hands upon it. Human hands involved in many different sects of the Christian religion with different beliefs, amending the bible to make their own (what?). Human hands involved in the cover up and erasure of preceding pantheistic religions across the world. Because, let's face it, some people aren't comfortable with differing opinions, and they'll do dastardly things to make their opinion the right one. The people of God are not exempt. I first bought guildwars when it was young and buggy. I have been a loyal player for over 4 years now and i must say, YOU SUCK! Everything thats wrong with this game is YOUR fault. Every broken farming skill every person that wants to grind out farms over and over again for massive ammounts of stuff and every person with a brainstem that saw some synergy in a build and slapped together making something that was entirely to powerful for not nearly enough skill is YOUR fault. The fact that i dont have to pay a CENT for every bug fix, crash fix, and update, Along with a lack of monthly fee, has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on how you and the rest of arenanet run your servers. AND as the COMMUNITY MANAGER it is YOUR responsibility to develope, test, and implement new skills. In RA I almost prefer bringing Parasitic Bond just for the sake of having even the slightest form of selfheal, especially since it gets removed. If your careful you can keep a monk completely loaded up on that bar with while constantly keeping parasite up as a cover hex. Seeing as theres only one skill that can keep up with it and nobody ever uses that. And i only put LC in there because i didnt know what else to use. I dont like PoD personally. And Weaken knees is Meh. AoE Healing Redux is leet tho. plus theres the fact that once you use it your monk has to decide who to take it off of firsts. Magehunter's isn't useless in PvP, although I personally prefer devhammer. Coward is pretty sweet. ED used to be good. Pendulum has some niche uses, or it did in the past anyway. Empathic goes nicely on Paragons. Order of Undeath isn't useless in PvE. Grenth's Balance has some very useful applications in PvE. Weapon of Fury is actually a pretty good skill, it's just that there are more vital elites to take. Stunning Strike is one of the best skills in the game, and Cruel Spear is still decent as a ranged DW, although it was much cooler back when it ignored blocking. Grenth's Grasp is sometimes used along with bows or spears for perma snare at range.

Anything that changed the function of this skill and doesnt take the instagib out of it is stupid. This skill has an instagib clause because of its overpoweredness. If you take away the overpoweredness of it and leave the instagib then it becomes just another useless elite. And besides, Its not about the other skills. Briar, 600/Smite is just as gimmicky as SF, the number of skills doesn't account for anything. Other day we had a full guild team, enough to do a HM balanced dungeon run, but guess what was done? Both of us Monks went as 600/Smite and the other 6 leeching, because it is simply easier (and faster) to clear the whole thing using 2 Monks than fighting the way normally with a full team, gigging on vent and making far less effort. I have a love/hate relationship with SF. on one hand it allowed me to farm enough ectos and scam enough suckers to get every armor and weapon i want on almost all my characthers. on the other hand it has made people hate assassins. A proffesion ive been using since they were first introduced. Prior to that i was running a War with an axe combo. Cuz lets face it, Chaining attacks to string conditions and bonus damage together is a fucking awesome idea. I just dislike that I can't ask friends to go on characters they like. Normally, I can get a group of friends to go on characters they like with bars they want to run. Thats how I did it on my monk and ele...
