As the spearmarshal of the Sunspears, Kormir is legendary, and her place as the head of the Order is assured. Despite her personal victories, she is deeply concerned with training new recruits. Kormir has trained more Sunspears than any historian can recall. She’s experienced, educated, fearless, and highly skilled. A calm, capable, and inspiring soldier, she does more than maintain the foundation of the Order—she strives to become the embodiment of a great Paragon. She’s proud of her achievements, and each victory moves her one step closer to securing her legacy. Many believe the organization would fail without her. This sentiment is not lost on Kormir. Each time she receives such extraordinary praise, she’s compelled to work even harder training the next generation of Elonian heroes.

The Guild Wars Nightfall Manuscripts

In 1075 AE, the time of the Nightfall campaign, Spearmarshal Kormir leads the players, new Sunspear recruits, against various Corsair threats in Istan. She later uncovers the lost city of Fahranur, where an ancient demon, the Apocrypha, is awakened and destroyed by the players. Kormir finds out that Varesh Ossa, Warmarshal of Kourna and descendant of Turai Ossa, is attempting to bring about the power of the ancient, forgotten god Abaddon. After tedious preparations, the Sunspears assault the offshore Kournan fortress of Gandara during the Consulate Docks mission, but they fail miserably due to otherworldly help from Abaddon. As the Sunspears flee, Kormir is attacked by The Hunger and presumed dead.

The Pogahn Passage mission reveals Kormir is still alive, held prisoner in Gandara and now blinded by the demon. Players assisting Margrid The Sly, a corsair, rescue her. This victory is short-lived, however, because she is later pulled into the Realm of Torment due to Abaddon's spreading influence over the world.

Later, the players reunite with her in Nightfallen Jahai. The players then storm the Gates of Pain and Madness before reaching Abaddon's Gate. The weakened god is chained and destroyed, and as his unbound magics spiral out of control, Kormir, using the gift the gods gave her in the Temple of the Six Gods, runs into and absorbs it, thus preventing the world from being destroyed. In the process, she usurps his position as god and becomes the Goddess of Truth.
