  • Double XP for Elite Captures -- May 9, 2008
This weekend you will receive double XP for each Elite Skill that you capture. This experience boost will start at Noon (-7 GMT) Pacific time this Friday, May 9 and will extend through 11:59 PM (-7 GMT) Pacific time on Sunday, May 11.
  • Hero Battles Offer Double Reward -- May 2, 2008
Hop in Hero Battles this weekend to earn double Balthazar faction and double Commander title points. The double rewards will be offered from Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on Friday, May 2, through 11:59 PM Pacific (-7 GMT) on Sunday, May 4.

The festivities begin on Thursday, April 24 after the live update, running until Noon (-7 GMT) Pacific on Tuesday, April 29. The festivities include a brand new reward after finishing the Hell's Precipice mission in the original campaign, boardwalk games at the Shing Jea Monastery, and starting April 28, third birthday presents for characters created on this date.
  • Arena Bonus Weekend -- 18 April 2008
Starting Noon (-7 GMT) Pacific time this friday, you can earn double Balthazar faction and Gladiator Points within Team Arenas and Random Arenas. These double rewards extend through Sunday at 11:59PM(-7 GMT) Pacific.
  • GvG Double-Reward Weekend -- 11 April 2008
GvG's the thing this weekend, when you can earn double GvG Faction and Double Champion Points starting Friday, April 11 at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) through Sunday, April 13 at 11:59 PM Pacific.
This very special event begins at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on Friday, April 4, 2008 and will run all weekend, ending at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on Monday, April 7, 2008. Starting on Saturday, April 5, The Frog's personal friend, The Rabbit, will host a series of final extravaganzas so big they span the better part of three days

This weekend, from Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) this Friday until 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday, March 23, you will get a double dose of springtime goodness with random drops of Chocolate Bunnies and Golden Eggs in all of the lands of Tyria

  • Double Tournament Reward Points -- 4 March 2008

Starting at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) this Friday, you will earn double Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard and Norn reputation points for completing quests and defeating foes while under the effects of a shrine bonus. Points for completing books are unaffected. This boost will last through 11:59 PM Paciffic (-8 GMT) on Sunday.
  • Alliance Battles Bonus Weekend -- 19 February 2008
Starting at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) this Friday, you will earn double faction for participating in Alliance Battles. This bonus will last through 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 GMT) on Sunday.
  • Hero Battles offer double reward -- 12 February 2008
Participate in Hero Battles this weekend to earn double Balthazar faction for points scored and HB victories, as well as double Victory Points to bolster your Commander title. These double rewards will be offered from Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) on Friday, February 15 through 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 GMT) on Sunday, February 17, 2008.
  • Canthan New Year's Festival 2008 -- 6 February 2008
The Canthan New Year's Festival event begins at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) on Friday, February 8, 2008 and will run all weekend, ending at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) on Monday, February 11, 2008.
  • Double Gold and XP for Vanquishing -- 1 February 2008

This weekend you will receive double Sunspear and Lightbringer points in both Hard mode and regular gameplay. Check in with the appropriate resurrection shrine NPC to obtain the bounty, and double up on the rewards from Noon Pacific on Friday, January 18, through on Sunday, January 20.

  • Eye of the North Unique Item Weekend -- 21 September 2007
    During this weekend bosses throughout the Eye of the North expansion will have triple the chance to drop their unique weapons. This increased droprate will start at noon (-7 GMT) on Friday, September 21 and will continue until 23.59 (-7 GMT) on Sunday, September 23.
  • Double Tournament Reward Points -- 11 September 2007
    Starting at 12:01 Pacific time (-7 GMT) on Friday, September 14, you will receive double Tournament Reward Points for participating in Automated Tournaments for both GvG and 1v1. This increase will last until 11:59PM (-7 GMT) on Sunday, September 16.
  • Triple Experience Weekend -- 4 September 2007
    Rack up levels and skill points beginning at Noon Pacific time (-7 GMT) on Friday, September 7, when you will receive triple experience for completing missions throughout Tyria, Cantha, and Elona, and completing repeatable primary quests in the Eye of the North expansion. This added boost will last until 11:59 PM (-7 GMT) on Sunday, September 9.

  • Dragon Festival Returns -- 3 July 2007
    Cantha will celebrate the Dragon Festival again this year through a multitude of fun activities in Shing Jea Monastery. The Dragon Arena and Rollerbeetle Racing will reopen; the Shing Jea Boardwalk will offer all sorts of games of chance; and the monastery itself will host a reenactment of last year's event, as well. Fun, prizes, and a special gift will be your rewards! So join the celebration at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on Friday, July 6th, and celebrate this historic event until 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday, July 8th.

    This weekend, get double points towards your Luxon and Kurzick alliance titles starting at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on Friday, June 29. Receive double points for transferring 1,000 faction for Jadeite or Amber, for exchanging 3,000 faction for an alliance skill, and for transferring 5,000 faction to raise your alliance's reputation. The bonus ends at 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday, July 1.
  • Hero Battles Offer Double Rewards - 19 June 2007

  • Weekend to Dye For - 12 June 2007

  • $100,000 Tournament Series May Championships this Weekend! - 24 May 2007
    This weekend offers the last chance to earn qualifier points for this month's championships. The final GvG May Championship will start at 05:00 GMT on Saturday, May 26. The final 1v1 May Championship will start at 08:00 GMT on Sunday, May 27. You or your guild must have at least 20 QPs in order to participate in this weekend’s championships.

    Saturday is a dual birthday for Guild Wars: It is the second birthday of Prophecies and the first birthday of Factions.   • Heroes' Ascent: Changes & Bonuses - 27 March 2007
    On Friday, March 30th, Heroes' Ascent will become an 8v8 battleground once again. This permanent change will be celebrated with a special weekend offering double fame and double faction. It all begins at Noon PDT on Friday, and the special bonuses will end at 11:59 PDT on Sunday, April 1.
  • FoW and UW Access Weekend - 20 March 2007
    Players who have been looking towards The Fissure of Woe or The Underworld with an eye to its challenging gameplay and special loot will be pleased to note that this weekend offers free and open access to both areas. All statues of Grenth and Balthazar located within outposts will be active for characters who are qualified to enter these areas. Access will be at no cost, and will not be tied to a territory holding the Favor of the Gods. This free access will begin at Noon PDT on Friday, and end at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday night.
  • Lucky Weekend Planned - 13 March 2007
    Starting at Noon PST on Friday, March 16, PvP players will earn double Faction and Gladiator Points in Arenas. Plus, with a bit o' luck, PvE players may find a unique drop or two in missions and explorable areas. These opportunities will run through 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday, March 18.
  • Heroic Weekend Ongoing - 6 March 2007
    Bring your Heroes or recruit new ones this weekend, for they will get double XP while they are below you in level. Plus, you will have double the chance of acquiring Hero armor upgrade pieces in Dajkah Inlet, Remains of Sahlahja, The Shadow Nexus, and Gate of Anguish. The event will run from Noon on Friday, March 9 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 11.

  • GvG Bonus Weekend Coming - 27 February 2007
    As players prepare for the next rounds of the Guild Wars Celestial Tournament, we offer two benefits to PvP players this weekend: double GvG Faction and double Champion Points. The double rewards begin at Noon PST (20:00 GMT) on Friday, March 2nd and end at 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, March 4 (7:59 GMT on Monday, March 5).
  • Canthan New Year Coming! - 8 February 2007
    This month, we will be observing a new holiday in the Guild Wars world: A festival celebrating the Canthan New Year is coming to Shing Jea Monastery, with a passel of pleasurable pastimes and porcine plentitude for the populace. You can take part in smaller festivities in Kamadan and Lion's Arch, as well. Head over to the Canthan New Year's Festival event page to learn more about this exciting new celebration.   • Weekend Plans: 3-for-1 Fun - 6 February 2007
    This weekend, you have the opportunity to test Heroes' Ascent with an 8v8 party size configuration and share your comments throughout the coming week.   • Testing Weekend #2 - 30 January 2007
    This weekend, starting around Noon PST on Friday, you'll have another opportunity to test updates for Guild Wars. We're rolling in a significant number of skill changes along with updates to Heroes' Ascent, as well. We'll be leaving the changes in place this time, but will assess player feedback to help formulate future balance changes and updates, so we hope you'll try out these changes and provide your feedback on the fan forums.
  • Canthan Triple Green Weekend - 23 January 2007
    This weekend, starting at Noon PST on Friday, all bosses in Cantha will be three times as likely to drop a green item. The triple goodness will run through 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, January 28, so get ready to go green hunting!
  • Test Weekend Coming! - 16 January 2007
    This weekend, you are invited to test a number of skill balance changes and alterations to the Heroes' Ascent area. Join us on Friday, January 19, around Noon PST and try out the changes to the PvP area and to a number of skills. During the test and after, we encourage you to share your thoughts with us via our many fansite forums. The testing weekend will run through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, January 21 (7:59 GMT on January 22.)
  • Double XP for Elite Skill Captures - 9 January 2007
    This coming weekend, you will receive twice the normal number of Experience Points for every Elite Skill that you capture in Tyria, Cantha, and Elona. So join us this weekend—with existing characters or perhaps with a new one—and double up on the XP! The event starts at Noon PST on Friday, January 12 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, January 14.

    This weekend, all chests located in Elona will have a doubled chance of dropping rare items. And, the drop rate for all Elonian keys will triple, too! Join us starting at Noon PST on Friday, and enjoy the extra goodies through Sunday at 11:59 p.m. PST.
  • Another Double Fun Weekend - 5 December 2006
    This coming weekend, there are two ways for you to double your PvP fun: You’ll receive double GvG Faction for unique kills, matches won, and flawless victories, plus you will get double Champion Points when both competing guilds have a rating of 1200+ on the Guild Wars Ladder. This Double Fun Weekend starts at Noon PST on Friday, December 8, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, December 10.

  • Balthazar Faction Weekend - 21 November 2006
    This weekend, Balthazar will bless those who do well in Hero Battles with a double dose of Faction. Get double Balthazar Faction per point scored and per Hero Battle victory, too. This opportunity begins at Noon PST on Friday and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday.
  • Unique Weekend Planned - 14 November 2006
    This weekend, boss monsters will be three times as likely to drop unique, or "green," items throughout Elona. Start your green hunt at Noon PST on Friday, November 17, and enjoy the extra chance of "seeing green" through 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, November 19.
  • Double Faction in Arenas - 7 November 2006
    This weekend, you will be able to earn double Balthazar Faction in Random and Team Arenas, plus you'll score double Faction for each match won and for flawless victories, too. This double-up on Faction rewards begins at Noon PST on Friday, November 10, and ends at 11:59 p.m, PST on Sunday, November 12.

  • Double Dye Weekend - 31 October 2006
    This weekend, you will have double the chance of scoring a dye drop in Elona. Come to the land of Nightfall and stock up on dyes for all your new characters. The event starts at Noon PST on Friday, November 3rd, and runs through 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, November 5th. Truly, this is an event to dye for.
  • Shing Jea Boardwalk Reopens! - 17 October 2006
    This weekend, visit Shing Jea Monastery and follow the crowds to the Boardwalk, that popular venue for fun activities and games of chance. The Boardwalk will be open all weekend long, beginning on Friday, the 20th, at Noon PDT and ending on Sunday at 11:59 p.m. PDT. During the weekend, you can also enjoy exciting PvP action in the popular Dragon Arena. Simply speak to the NPC in Shing Jea Monastery to join the fun!
  • Green Drop Weekend - 10 October 2006
    This weekend, every Canthan boss monster that you slay will be three times as likely to drop a special, or "green," item. The start of this event will be Noon PDT on Friday and the greens will continue to drop at triple the normal rate through 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday. Good hunting!

  • Another Double Reward Weekend - 26 September 2006
    This coming weekend, from Noon PDT on Friday, September 29 through 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday, October 1, you will receive double experience from capturing elite skills. Instead of gaining 250 times your level in XP, you will receive 500 times your level. Join Guild Wars this weekend and enjoy the bonus XP.

  • Upcoming Weekend Fun - 13 September 2006
    During the upcoming weekend—September 15th through 17th—Alliance Battles will receive a boost. You'll receive double Balthazar faction for all kills, double Kurzick/Luxon faction for all kills, and double Kurzick/Luxon faction for all wins. In addition, the battle line movement will be accelerated and the line will be seen to shift hourly, rather than every three hours. Join in the fun starting at Noon PDT on Friday, September 15th.
  • Double-Fun Weekend Coming! - 6 September 2006
    This weekend will provide you with two ways to double your fun: First of all, you will find that the drop rate for all experience scrolls is doubled. In addition, all XP scrolls—new and previously-acquired—will have double the duration time during the weekend event. The fun starts at Noon PDT on Friday and runs through 11:59 PDT on Sunday night.

  • Heroes Ascent Extended Weekend Event - 29 August 2006
    Come and claim your fame in Heroes Ascent during this Labor Day weekend’s special event! For the first time in the history of Heroes Ascent, participants will face off against each other in smaller teams of six, earning double fame along the way! To add to the fun, this exciting extended event will begin at Noon PDT on Friday, September 1st and will run all the way until Noon PDT on Tuesday, September 5th! Be sure to join us in Heroes Ascent this weekend and take advantage of that extra time to rack up your fame!
  • Competitive Weekend of Fun - 15 August 2006
    During the weekend of August 18 to August 20, you will earn double Kurzick, Luxon, and Balthazar faction in the Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry competitive missions! Additionally, all PvP characters that have access to Factions will now be able to participate in these missions simply by talking to the special Luxon Diplomats or Kurzick Recruiters that will be located in the Great Temple of Balthazar! The double faction fun starts at Noon PDT on Friday, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday, with the PvP character access remaining open even after the event ends. Come join in the fun this weekend watch those faction points rack up!
  • Another Double-Your-Fun Weekend - 8 August 2006
    This weekend, August 11 to August 13, you'll find yourself twice as likely to nab a rare drop from any chest in Cantha. And, to help you get into those chests, you will also notice an increase in the drop rate for keys, too! Come along this weekend and see what you can add to your collection of cool items! The fun starts at Noon PDT on Friday, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Sunday.

  • Upcoming Weekend with an Elite Theme - 31 July 2006
    This coming weekend offers special bonuses for players who enjoy missions, roleplaying, and unique items. Factions players will be granted access to all Canthan elite missions the entire weekend via an NPC in Kaineng Center. In addition, there will be the chance of double rare loot drops within Canthan Elite Missions during the weekend! This exciting weekend will begin on Friday, August 4, at 12:01 a.m. PDT (07:01 GMT) and will end Sunday, August 6, at 11:59 p.m. (that's Monday, August 7 at 06:59 GMT). We hope to see you there!
  • Guild Wars Nightfall PVP Preview Event - 25 July 2006
    This weekend, from July 28 to July 30, players will be able to experience a special sneak preview of our newly-announced game through the Guild Wars Nightfall PVP Preview Event! During the event, both Guild Wars Prophecies and Guild Wars Factions players will get a first look at Guild Wars Nightfall, and will be able to try out the two new professions being introduced in the game. In addition to testing the new professions and arenas, players also will be able to compete for items throughout the weekend that will be exchangeable for a variety of rewards.
  • Another Fun Weekend Planned - 19 July 2006
    This weekend, Guild Wars players will enjoy another double dose of fun, as players acquire double faction in arenas. That means twice the faction for unique kills, matches won, and flawless victories. In addition, you can ring up double Gladiator Points for winning ten consecutive matches in the Team and Random arenas. The fun starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT (7:01 a.m. GMT) on Friday, July 21 and lasts until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 23 (06:59 GMT Monday, July 24).
  • Double Weekend Fun - 12 July 2006
    This coming weekend, you'll have a double-dose of Guild Wars goodness. First, you can participate in the Guild Wars Factions Championship Open Event. Secondly, as a special treat for all guild-versus-guild players, everyone playing during the Open Event—which runs from 08:00 GMT Friday July 14 until 08:00 GMT Monday July 17—will receive double Balthazar Faction! That's double faction for unique kills, for matches won, and for flawless victories. Join us this weekend for twice the fun!
