Uploading problems?
Is anyone else having problems to upload images? When I try to upload something, I get the big red message saying "The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file" (which is the same message that appears when you try to upload something over the 2 mb limit, for the records). Insisting sometimes makes the image go through, but this is proving to be unreliable.
(I wonder if it has something to do with me uploading 100+ 2 mb images earlier today...) Erasculio 23:02, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- Same problem here, I have tried different pictures on different computers, the photos were edited by seperate computers, and on different operating systems. I tried removing and reinstalling Java for IE7 and still no luck. I also tried re-uploading Poke's test picture and still received the error message. Ghosst • Talk • 15:03, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

How do I change the font face and font color of my name that my posts are signed with? And what determines if a signature is before or after a name? Empress Amarox 03:43, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Guild Cape image
How do you change the guild cape image on Guild pages? I've been put in charge of updating my guild's page and I can't find anyplace to change the cape file name in the Guild template. Do I need to just upload a new version of the file or is there a way to change it on the page itself? --Shinigami King 00:20, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- Click on the image on your guild's page (or the image link) then upload a new version of the same in the image's page (you will get the option somewhere). After you upload it, you will need to wait about one hour or so until the server updates it.--Fighterdoken 01:38, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Cannot edit page/possible corruption
Would an administrator please delete one of my user pages - User:Joseph/Tracker from the database? I cannot edit this page at all if logged in, and it hangs on submit if not logged in. Possibly caused by a time I submitted a page and for a reason I can't remember I quit the browser before it finished loading the whole page. I have the wiki code for that page so do not worry about anything. Obviously I cannot add a deletion tag for the same reason. If any user manages to successfully edit this page, please leave a note on my talk page and I'll respond. Many thanks! – josəph 13:24, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- works for me without any problems - do you get any error when trying to edit the page? poke | talk 13:30, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- No error at all. I can edit my other (sub) pages. What happens on this page, is the edit page opens and the browser acts as if the page is loaded, but nothing is displayed. This occurs with Opera, Firefox, and (an older version of) IE. If I am not logged in, the edit page is displayed but upon submitting a preview, it reverts to the above problem of thinking it's loaded when it isn't. – josəph 13:46, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

help by the admin log?
Hello. I have a hard problem.
I wrote a huge text on User:Yullive/skill improvement and invested a lot of time. While writing I copied everything and added it to my vista sidebar memo. I often used the preview function, but didnt saved the page. (because I didn't want to fill the log --> "Please use the Show preview button before saving changes to reduce the number of edits shown in the recent changes list.")
I finished the writing and wanted to save the page, but I misclicked and closed the site. -.-
I thought: "Calm down, you saved it!", but the memo only gave me, what is saved right know. Far not all! I copied in the time between an other text and because of that I cant can't use "ctrl+V". :(
My question:
- Is there a log for admins, where my preview has been saved?
- Is there the posibillity to get the old copied files ("ctrl+C") from Windows Vista (any log, or something like that)? --> I even do not swich of my computer. Yullive 00:01, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Until it's saved, all the text is kept on your end; there's no log to view previews or anything. Unfortunately, you'll need to re-write anything that wasn't saved.
- When you say you accidentally "closed the site", do you mean you mistakenly left the page, or entirely closed your web browser? I would suggest getting Firefox if it's the latter, because that will "remember" entered text for you, so you can just hit the "back" button and still have your work intact. Of course, if you closed the whole thing by mistake, then yeah, that wouldn't make a difference anyway. >.<
- P.S.: and no, I don't think the text you entered would be saved on your end anywhere, not unless you did copy them, in which case, you should be able to just paste them again (ctrl+V)... -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 14:32, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I copied it, but I copied another text after and so it got erased. Isn't there a protocol in Windows, saving this copies? -- Yullive 17:44, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Nope there is no such thing. Also I would recommend that you actually Copy the whole Text in the Edit Window and then paste it directly into Notepad. Should anything go wrong with the Saving then you can just switch back to notepad Ctrl+A Ctrl+C it and paste it back into the Edit window. The Sidebar Memo is not made for holding huge amounts of Texts either but rather for small notes etc. Anyway whatever you wrote you will need to retype it. --SilentStorm 18:11, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you all for response. -- Yullive 21:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

- It is likely you did actually do it but probably didn't realise. They are very very very unlikely to suspend you incorrectly. Have you been trading in normal chat? Because that's what most people get caught out on. Buying/selling should only be done in trade chat. Anyway, if you still think you're innocent or want more information, try contacting support, although it is likely they will just say to wait out the 66 hours.- TheRave (talk) 06:12, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Images and links...
I was reading through the help files on Media Wiki about images and found this...
But when I try it here it opens to the image itself or to the redirect that is on the image. Are image links disabled here on GWW or am I doing something wrong? The link= command ends up showing as the alt= for the image. Suggestions? Solutions? Elric Coy 23:40, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Image:Assassin-tango-icon-48.png. calor (talk) 03:35, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- I don't believe you can link that way, especially using an image that already has a redirect on it. Try uploading your own copy of it. -- Wyn 05:20, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Based on your sandbox I think that this might have something to do with what you want? --Kakarot 05:26, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Calor ~ what??? is that an attempt at some kind of response?
- Wyn ~ That sucks.. I thought it was the redirect at first so I put that theory to the test. That is why my sandbox has the any tango icon. That icon is not redirected anywhere and the link command still doesn't work, even though Media Wiki says it should.
- Kakarot ~ again that sucks... more work per link than I'd like to invest but if that is how it has to be done, I guess that is how it will have to be done. Strange that it doesn't work, even though it is in big letters on a wiki help page. Did someone disable that function on this wiki for a particular reason? Is it possible to find out why its not functioning? Or why it was disabled? Elric Coy 15:02, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- The easiest way to "link" an image, is simply upload your own version of it, and redirect it. I've never seen it done any other way, except with an Image map extension which GWW does not have as it is going to be a feature in an upcoming upgrade to Media Wiki. -- Wyn 15:19, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- What if I want to use that image to link to several different things depending on which page I was on... Then I'd have to upload one copy of the image for each and every different link I wanted to create. That isn't very efficient and wiki wasn't meant to be used that way. Just like wiki isn't really supposed to be used as a forum either but that's a different story.
- Your suggestion may be the "easiest way" but its not really a good idea in the long run as the more people do it the more bloated their user accounts become. Unless storage space here on wiki isn't a concern. No, I'd rather just use the nav image template or find out why the |link= command doesn't work. Elric Coy 15:53, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- The reason the link parameter doesn't work is that we aren't using the latest MediaWiki version, because there isn't a stable release yet (if I understood it correctly). It will work when we upgrade, but that might take a while. - anja 16:02, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you Anja. A real answer (not that the other responses weren't good). This article was suggested by Wyn on my talk page... I read it and made a lot of sense. So, I guess I'll be using the navimage template till the Mediawiki version that has a working link parameter is stable and working properly if I want to use any images as link buttons. How do I check if I am blocked?
As the title says, how do I check if I am blocked from GWW?
I've been having problems loading images on both GWW and guildwars.com since the Wintersday update and I'm pretty sure it's not caused by adblockers or whatsoever because I haven't installed any of those during this period and GWW and guildwars.com are the only two sites that exhibit such a problem. Tried viewing GWW using another computer but the result is the same but when I use the same computer (laptop) on another network (office) it works just fine so I concluded it must have been something to do with IP blocking...
EDIT: There have been a couple of users with similar ip (218.186.12.XXX) experiencing similar problems as I have in posts up there so any admin could help us sort this out? (I am from Singapore by the way) 218.186.12.207 19:00, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
- There's not much we can really do about it. Assured, you are not blocked, as you made that post. Being blocked has nothing to do with the speed of the wiki. You can turn off adblockers for GWW, as we don't have any ads to defray costs. Hopefully that will make it faster. calor (talk) 00:42, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- My guess this is an ISP issue since as you say, the only other report we have had of this is from someone in the same IP series as you, and he is also in Singapore. I would suggest you try accessing the wiki from a different ISP in Singapore and see if you have any problems. If you don't, then I would suggest contacting your ISP to see if there is some type of filter they are using. Adblocking plugins often make images appear blank, so if your ISP has some sort of internal adfilter it may be causing these problems. -- Wyn 05:29, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- To Calor: I'm using vanilla IE7 and haven't installed any third party adblockers so I don't think I have any adblockers up that is causing this problem. Also, I notice that this strange problem extends to plaync.com and even arenanet.com as well. I was beginning to think it was a problem with the NCSoft server clusters but when I tried lineage2.com (another NCSoft MMORPG) it worked fine. So how should I go about to try to solve this problem? Should I take up this issue with my ISP?

- To Wyn: Hmm the images try to load but time out and eventually display the broken image link placeholder... is that a sign of an adblocker? Sounds like I should speak to my ISP... Anyway I have included a detailed problem description below, if anyone has any inkling what's going on or can provide a suggestion that will help when I contact my ISP, I will be very grateful.
- Detailed problem description: General site slowness, only text can be loaded, images try to load but will time out and never load. Even when an empty tab is opened and the direct link of the image such as http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/thumb/b/ba/Guild_Wars_Factions_logo.png is entered, it will time out. Happens to GWW, guildwars.com, plaync.com, arenanet.com, used to be fine but started happening around the start of the Wintersday updates and persists even after Wintersdays changes have been reverted. Also seems like multiple users on similar ip (218.186.12.XXX) share the problem. Personally I am using Starhub cable from Singapore.218.186.12.207 05:58, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

- Jons answer is good but if you still aren't sure I can understand your confusion, but if you look up the spell here on wiki and read the chart that is on each one it would be much easier to understand.
- For example- Lets look at Incendiary Bonds. If you read the description it says-
- If you read the chart you can see that as you add skill points into Fire Magic, the amount of damage increases and the amount of time the burning lasts also slowly increases. The green numbers in the description give you the amount of damage or burning time at those most common attribute levels.
- i.e. 20...68...80 fire damage at Fire Magic 0...12...15 Elric 15:57, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

- Are you talking about accessing your guild page through the F10 menu? Or just accessing the F10 menu at all?
- For the first, if you had one and now it doesn't appear, it may have been deleted by mistake, so request the reinstallement (sp?) on the admin noticeboard. For the second one, the only reason why i would think you have problems with the f10 menu is if you have hidden your UI somehow, or if you have problems with your web browser.--Fighterdoken 17:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Creature type on the wiki
Hi, At the creatures section, when I enter to a creature type to see its characteristics, i do not see to wich damage they are vulnerable or more resistent. I also would like a better aclaration for the weapons mods like "+20% damage vs undead", I do not have a good idea of which enemies are undead or not, and reading the wiki it seems even more harder to know it!!
Thanks. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:62.57.211.215 (talk).
- You can find this information in the infobox that all creature articles have. The "Type" parameter should tell you what kind of characteristics a creature share. By example, a Charr Axe Fiend is a creature Type = Charr, so clicking on the Charr link in the infobox will bring you to an article which includes (or should) what the species is weak and strong against.--Fighterdoken 17:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
wrong pictures
This has been bugging me for awhile, but I kept forgetting about it. Gogo ADD? Anyway. It's about this page. If you click on the last two pictures in the first row of pics (Elementalist Ancient armor overview, specifically Left and Right), they go to the right places. If you click the first two (Front and Back), you get taken to some random person's character in fem ele ancient armour, that's really distorted and is not what we're supposed to be seeing. I'd change it myself but I can't find any revert option there, and attempts to modify the Front Back ones on the page I linked to to be the same size resulted in blurry images, so I didn't bother uploading them. Perhaps someone with better Wiki and/or Photoshop knowledge could fix it. --Dragon nataku 20:27, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Its to do with the wiki caching images. I just checked and found the same thing. It was fixed for me by refreshing the cache by clicking Page Refresh/Reload on my browser multiple times in quick succession.- TheRave (talk) 20:31, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- All the images are properly showing for me....I don't see anything out of the ordinary with the ones you mentioned... -- Wandering Traveler 20:32, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- The Rave may be right... I've had issues myself with images after I upload a new version. Try forcing a refresh with ctrl-f5 if you are using IE or FireFox. It may not work every time since it seems the old image leaves a ghost in the machine that is sometimes called up even though you've already seen the correct image where it's supposed to be. Elric
- Hum, you're right, sorry. I just did the Ctrl-F5 thing. Didn't realize it'd been changed since I first noticed it sometime last year ^O__o^;; --Dragon nataku 22:10, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Wanted_pages
In an effort to participate more I was looking through the wanted pages section. I noticed that there are a lot of links to guild pages that do not exist. Is there a way to weed through these links and determine if the Guild Page should really be created, have the link reduced to text since it doesn't exist until the guild owner creates it, or filter these links out of the wanted pages section? Or should nothing be said or done... (self filtering?) Elric 21:29, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- in the case of guild pages, it's generally up to someone in the guild to create it. If you want to remove them from the Wanted page, I believe the only way someone on this side of the server can do it, is to go through, and remove any links pointing to said page. There should be a little thing saying "X Links" next to a wanted page, where X is a number, if you click that, it will give you a list of locations that link to the wanted page. It might be possiable for someone with server side access to exclude the guild name space from the wanted page (with it being a Special page, only people with Server side access can edit it/edit what it displays). ~PheNaxKian Talk 21:34, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Phen, I explored those links, but I doubt I have the authority to edit all those links to eliminate them from the wanted list, idk if a policy regarding links to guild pages that do not exist is warranted or not though. Elric 21:39, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- A policy that is disallowing links to not existing pages would be bad. There is no problem if people link to those pages, just ignore it or ask them to change it or change it yourself. poke | talk 21:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Is it ok for me to edit a user's space to remove a link to a non existing guild page? Elric 21:48, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- As far as I'm aware that's fine, and there shouldn't be any problems with it. However before you do start, i think it's best to leave any links in Wikichu's Logs. Everything else should be all right.~PheNaxKian Talk 22:11, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

- One of the problems might be that, if a guild page hasn't been edited in a certain number of months (not entirely sure how many), it gets changed from, let's say, "Guild:The Potato Guild", to "Guild:The Potato Guild (historical)", so any links that had linked to "Guild:The Potato Guild" become links to pages that do not exist. (and yes, I know I am terribly uncreative with names) --Dragon nataku 22:14, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- If the Guild, The Potato Guild has now become The Potato Guild (historical), shouldn't the original guild name now be redirected to the now historical guild name? If that is so I can do that and easily remove all of these from the wanted pages section. Elric 22:19, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- My suggestion for wanted pages, is to ignore the guild pages listed. Most of those red links have been created by 2 things. Our previous practice of deleting inactive guild pages, and our current practice of archiving them. This has created a large number of red links on userpages, either directly, or through userboxes. As for the redirects, those redirects are all deleted to allow for creation of a new guild with the same name if the guild has been disbanded in game. -- Wyn 22:39, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think ignoring the problem is going to work. Perhaps we can deal with the 2 issues that put the page on the historical or deleted list.
- Historical Guilds - A redirect on the wanted page to the new historical page with a template on the historical page giving directions for moving the historical page out of history or directions for seperating the old from the new by deleting the redirect and creating the new guild page?
- Deleted Guilds - A template on the wanted page explaining that this guild was previously deleted and is currently available for use?
- Solves the issue without putting our heads in the sand. No more pages and pages of wanted guild pages. Elric 23:17, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- You can't put a redirect for historical guilds. We've already been through this. There is a notice on the guild creation page telling people that if they are looking for the old page, where to find it. The redirect would stop anyone from trying to create a page with the same name should they create a new guild. Please see the discussion on the Guild page policy before you start trying to reinvent the wheel. The same thing goes for otherwise deleted guilds. There are many other ways you can contribute. See Projects or other wanted pages that aren't guild. -- Wyn 23:34, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Actually a better solution for the wanted guild pages is to find all the bad links and remove them or change them to the historical page whichever is more appropriate. -- Wyn 23:36, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I understand the creation message is there. Perhaps that was not the best way to deal with that particular problem. I checked the guild pages policy talk. The wanted pages was not a consideration when the decision was made. These guilds are slowly choking the wanted pages section making it harder for someone to find a page they want to work on. We need a solution to get these pages out of the wanted section so interested contributors don't have to filter through them. We want users to contribute more to the mainspace? Then we need to make it easier for them to find a page they want to work on. Elric 23:43, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps an easier way is a filter that simply filters out all wanted pages that are in the User: and Guild: namespace? Elric
- There is a previous request for such a change - see here. The talk page is revealing on why it is unlikely, unless the technical side of things has changed, that your suggestion will be done. --Aspectacle 00:11, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

;) --SilentStorm 00:17, 27 January 2009 (UTC)- Unfortunately, there is no way to filter the wanted pages list, as it is integral to the software itself (at least that's how poke explained it to me when I asked the same question.) The best way to remove guild pages from the wanted pages link is to remove the links from the userpages that contain them. I believe the highest number of links for any one page involved is 38. Would be a nice project for someone. I believe our last historical move was 3941 pages. -- Wyn 00:31, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Right now, I'm having big problems logging to my account. My username is "Robert Batchelor" but I have forgotten my password, and have just reinstalled Windows. However when I tried to get a temp password, I get the message Error sending mail: There is no e-mail address recorded for user "Robert Batchelor".
Can anyone help me with this problem? 202.89.173.203 15:27, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

<span style="color:red;">GuidingLight</span>
and just replace red with the color you want. To change font, you addfont-family:FONTNAME;
after red;. An image is added like this
. - To have your signature image link to a specific page, which is recommended, you edit the image page and add a redirect, like this:
#redirect User talk:GuidingLight
on the first line. Does that help? :) - anja 15:52, 4 February 2009 (UTC)- Yes! Thankee much! ^^ I never did that kind of editing anywhere on the Internet. --GuidingLight 16:10, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

- If it requires privacy, then either look for contact information on their user page (User:Username), or go to their userpage and look for the link in the toolbox on the sidebar that says "E-mail this user" (both you and the person you're e-mailing need to have an e-mail address set in preferences for this to work). If it doesn't need to be private, go to the user's talk page (User talk:Username), and click the little '+' tab at the top of the page to add a new section. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 17:29, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Editing Pages Too Much
If I forget something and edit a page like 10 times in a row, would it be bad? I don't know how wiki creates history... Also what's the use of "minor edit" thing? Just a marker? AlicanC 12:24, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- It would "spam" Special:RecentChanges and that page's history. To avoid that, use the "show preview" function. Minor edit is indeed a marker (so that people watching recent changes can distinguish big and small changes to an article). --Xeeron 13:56, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Each time you click Save Page it adds an additional edit to the pages history; for example this is the history of your user page; as well as adding one to the recent changes which is what most people use to watch edits for vandalism, questions in these ask a question pages and other edits. The Minor Edit button marks the edit as a minor edit which can if desired be filtered out of the recent changes using the hide minor edits link near the top and is usually used when making minor changes to a page in your userspace for example.
- One way to reduce the amount of edits that you need to make is to make use of the Show Preview button which will as the name suggests let you see a preview of what the page will look like after saving without actually saving thus reducing the number of times you need to save. Hopefully that answers your questions satisfactorily. --Kakarot 13:59, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- You just need to be careful because the "Show preview" button is right next to the "Save page" button and that you don't accidentily hit save when you mean to hit preview (like I've done a million times :-) Luke1138 16:42, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Guild Wars Guru - Reported Attack Site
I'm not sure if this is something relevant to the content of this Wiki so I thought I would ask the question here. As of today it appears that Guild Wars Guru have achieved the status of "Reported Attack Site" for any Firefox users using standard settings (see screen shot ). This means that Guru have individually and specifically been classed as a website that "try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system." I noticed that there is a reference to this website on the "Auction" page. Should this information be included as a warning somewhere on that page? --Bunny - Angel talk 11:17, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

- We were indeed hit by a Chinese hacker yesterday morning and for 2 hours, if someone was specifically using IE, had not updated their Windows XP since 2006, and had no anti-virus in place... you were probably vulnerable to a virus. We resolved the matter quickly and Google happened to be spidering the site at the time. Many webmasters are hit with false positives or just have the luck of the draw to be having issues when Google spiders their site and are labeled. We are not the first GW fansite to have had this issue and we do everything we can to protect our users. We have installed additional security on our servers, they are continually monitored and GuildWarsGuru.com is perfectly safe. It will not harm your computer. We are working with Google to get this warning removed. Inde

Category question
Hey, so I've just discovered Category:Image_update_needed, and had a question about it. What's the general purpose of this category? I mean, what needs to be updated? Some of them have notes in the picture summary, but some don't. For example, I noticed that the pictures for female assassin Ancient armour (grey) are on there, and all I can figure from looking at the pictures is that they're too dark because of the setting. Basically, I don't wanna go about replacing pictures if I'm not entirely sure why they require updates. ^@__@^ --Dragon Nataku 17:50, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Guild Wars Wiki:Formatting/Images should provide you with the information about what images are expected to be, so you can see what needs to be changed in the images in the category. As a rule of thumb, images should show what they intend to show, they should be easily visible, and should not include unrequired UI (or aditional content).
- If you want to help updating images, just go ahead. Previous revisions of images are saved, so even if you somehow screw it, you or others can always revert back the image to a previous version. Just remember to take the image update tag out once you upload a correct version of the images.--Fighterdoken 21:36, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

My hopes of this being possible aren't very high, but why not try? :) Woopdeedoo 04:06, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, unfortunately contributions can't be added from an IP to another account, or added from one account to another. Your best bet is to simply log out and put a note on your userpage as an IP address, stating that all edits made with such-and-such IP before so-and-so are by you. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:17, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
My sock and my sig
Would it be allowed for me to move my signature image ([1]) to Image:User Why Sig.PNG to reduce code length? User:Why is an account I made in the time abbreviations in signatures were still required to be registered and redirected. — Why 18:24, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- On second thought, I suppose duplicating it to aforementioned location would be better, because my sig image links to an aweful lot of pages, as sig images tend to do. Would it be allowed to have Image:User Why Sig.PNG in the signature of User:Why Are We Fighting? — Why 18:27, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

how do you create a template and create a page (Nemis troy 16:59, 20 February 2009 (UTC)).
- Just enter the Page you want in the Search. If it doesnt exist there should be a link to create it. Another way would be to just enter it into the Addressbar. See Help:Editing for more info. Signature Image and Font
I got the color and stuff down but I want to know how to change the font and how to add a image behind/front of it. Anything and everything is helpful! Sentry007
- Take a look at my signature: <span style="color:#808080;font-family:Chiller">— Why</span>. font-family changes the font, as far as I know you can use any font installed on your computer, though it might not show up for other people. To add an image simply place the name of the image between 's and 's. For instance, you could customise your signature in this way: <span style="color:green;font-family:Georgia">Sentry007</span>, which would result in Sentry007. You'd just have to upload an image, 19x19px. — Why 02:08, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Ty, but one last question from where and how do I upload an image? And also, is there some sort of list of fonts available?? Anyhow, ty for taking the time to reply to me ^-^Sentry007
- Hmm, the easiest way to upload an image is probably to create a red link to one, and then click it. For instance, , click it and upload a .png image there. You can also use the Special:Upload page, though that one takes some getting-used-to. As far as I know there's no database for fonts, the best thing you can do is just open up Word and look for a nice font there. And no problem, I'm happy to help. :) — Why 00:27, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Correct Template for Bundles?
I wanted to update the entry for Urn of Saint Viktor but couldn't find the correct template. After looking at [Category:Bundles] I noticed that there is a huge amount of inconsistency across bundle entries. User Account Email Inaccessible

Is there a way to transfer to a new email address, access the user account in some way, or completely wipe it so that I can recreate it again? Thanks! --68.161.33.28 16:35, 3 March 2009 (UTC) Party
- Can you log into you wiki account? If you can, you can change your e-mail by clicking "my preferences" (or click here) and changing your e-mail address under the "E-mail" section. --Shadowphoenix 17:31, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Doesn't reseting your password give you a new completely random password without which you can no longer log in?
- AFAIK, unless you can still access your registered email address (is recreating it an option?), there isn't much that can be done.

New Wiki Account, Old Comments
I just created a wiki account. Previously, I was signing comments with my IP address. I was hoping that my IP signed comments could somehow be transitioned to fall under comments made with this wiki account I now have. Is that possible? Pkohler01 02:37, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Short answer: No. Backsword 02:50, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- As Backsword said, you cannot make the contributions you made on your IP adress count for the contributions on your account. An easy way to notify you made an account, would be leaving a message with your IP on the talk page of your IP, saying you have registered and providing a link to your userpage. That way people who check your IP's contributions will be directed towards your new user account. — Why 03:34, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- If that IP is static, you can add this template on the talk page of the IP, if you like. poke | talk 12:38, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Cache issue?
I'm trying to split pictures from Ahtok and Scout Ahtok, so I've uploaded a newer version for Ahtok and reupload existing picture to Scout Ahtok (could not move it, cause page already existed).
Now, however, server is displaying two identical pictures, none of which seems to be correct right now. >_<
Scout Ahtok file history shows a 225x598 file (which should be the 242x643 one, uploaded by Calor). No idea why it got resized.
Ahtok file history is showing the wrong picture (cache issue, perhaps?) with the correct resolution (from the picture I've recently uploaded).
I'll wait a couple of hours (as suggested on previous comments about problems with server's cache), but if nothing happens (i.e., pictures do not show correcly), I'm a little short on ideas on what I could have done wrong. >_<
Any tips, anyone? --NIN37 19:01, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Skill progression max12 template
I hope this is the right place to mention this.
In some of the Allegiance skills, I've noticed a difference in the progression mentioned in the description vs. the respective progression table.
See Aura of Holy Might, Spear of Fury, Summon Spirits, Elemental Lord, and Signet of Corruption.
The starting values of the above skills are different than the description. The values start from rank 1 instead of a typical rank 0 in other skills, so I'm wondering if the template takes that into account.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough faction to get even a rank one skill yet. Can any of you knowledgeable template masters tell if this is an issue?
Cheers. (Ralmon the Gen 04:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC))
- From what I can see on the skills pages you linked the green numbers in the skill description are the values at rank 0, rank 10 and rank 12 respectively. For the progression table, the numbers start at rank 1 visually but are calculated from rank 0. Since I haven't progressed very far in Factions I am unsure if they are correct but they should be. --Kakarot 04:30, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the rapid responses. I guess my concern is whether the values in the description pertain to ranks 1..10..12 rather than the perhaps expected 0..10..12, exactly because you can't get them at rank 0. Nonetheless, once I get my faction values up enough, I'll be able to tell. Thanks again. (Ralmon the Gen 05:07, 23 March 2009 (UTC))
(Reset indent) Howdy folks, I finally got around to making rank 1 Kurzick Supporter. I acquired Signet of Corruption: rank 1 gives 21 dmg/13 egy. Good job SilentStorm, for starting the tables from rank 0. I hope it won't cause too much confusion, since in-game we have to start from rank 1. Thanks again, people! Adding a hide button
Throwing tons of random user boxes and by extent category listings to my user page has caused to find that I've build up a rather large list of categories that my user page falls under. Is there any way to add a hide button to the list of categories on the bottom of the page, or hide it completely? I'd prefer the first, but any solution other then "Remove the category listings" is welcome.

Template Code
I have been playing for about 1& 1/2 yrs. I have 5 characters. I have never used a template code. What is the difference between using a template code and equipping the skills yourself? And can you use template codes for hero's? 74.229.228.95 17:49, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- The skill template also saves your attribute setup, but it is no different than equipping skills and spending attribute points yourself. It just saves you time, and lets you quickly switch between different skillbars you like. For example, you may have a fire elementalist bar you like, and an air elementalist bar. With templates you can switch between those two in seconds, and get the correct attributes at the same time. After you have loaded a template, you can of course change everything in the normal way to your liking, nothing stops you :) And yes, you can use templates on heroes too :) - anja 10:15, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Deadwood Fall vs. Arborstone
Yesterday, I added a dialogue for Kaolai in which the player was urged to head toward Deadwood Fall. The Europe site states Countess Danika was born in Deadwood Fall. The game manual available from the US site (PDF) uses Arborstone as her birthplace.
Not sure if this is simply a dialogue text bug, or part of Canthan history. As such, should this be mentioned in the wiki somewhere related to either Deadwood Fall/Arborstone or maybe Cantha, or reported as a bug/anomaly related to Kaolai's text? (Ralmon the Gen 13:15, 13 April 2009 (UTC))

Usernames with spaces and their user pages
My registered username has a space in it (Tasha Darke), but the url on my browser has an underscore in my name (Tasha_Darke). Are they the same to the Wiki software or different? If they are different, which should I be using and could it mess someone else up if I have pages that were generated with the wrong one (i.e. if I should be using User:Tasha Darke and instead have used User:Tasha_Darke as the root of sub pages)? Thanks Tasha Darke 07:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
