A Staff is a two-handed projectile weapon that can be linked to any caster attribute, has a maximum damage range of 11-22. It is one of the two preferred weapons of casters.

• Base properties:
  • Maximum damage range¹: 11 - 22.
  • Damage type: Chaos, Dark, Holy, Cold, Earth, Fire or Lightning, usually dependent on the linked attribute.
  • Attack speed rate: 1.75 seconds.
  • Range²: 1.2 danger zone radius.
  • Projectile flight time³: 0.6 seconds.
  • Projectile arc size: Low.
  • Energy +3..10
  • Halves skill recharge of spells (Chance: 10..20%)

1. Affected by height. Like all ranged weapons, damage increases if the target is at a lower height than the attacker and decreases if the target is at a higher height.
2. Same as normal spell range, not affected by height.
3. When at danger zone range (Shortbow range).

• Additional properties:
  • In Prophecies, Factions and Realm of the Gods drops and some Nightfall collectors and crafters: One not salvageable inherent modifier.
  • In Nightfall, Eye of the North, The Battle Isles and the Bonus Mission Pack items: One inscription upgrade slot.
  • Name prefix: Staff Head upgrade slot.
  • Name suffix: Staff Wrapping upgrade slot.

Any profession can receive the benefit to energy from staves, since the attribute of staves is linked to their damage; unlike foci, whose attribute is linked to the energy bonus.

Note: This is a list of all the different appearances a wand staff have. It is completely independent of its stats and modifiers; for example a Bo Staff may be as effective as a Zodiac Staff if they share the same linked attribute, inscription and modifiers.
