is it possible to farm with paragon? if it is please send me some good paragon farming builds. and one more question. is it beeter to farm with le or warior. need some good builds for those 2. plz and ty

More specifically, [1]. Just to note, there is only one documented Paragon farming build there, and it's for FoW (Fissure of Woe). PVE characters in PVP

Will the skill and item unlock packs allow PVE characters to use skills and items during PVP combat or are they for heros and PVP only characters alone?

you shouldn't (not 'you don't', since many still do) use pve chars in pvp as long as you have less than 1 year and 5 gvg victories exp imo. and there's no reason to use pve-chars over pvp-chars in pvp anymore since that pvp-equip update. they are much more flexible, that's a fact. the term that describes what you mean is 'universal'. - Y0_ich_halt 19:36, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

He is right though, PvP chars do tend to be vastly more versatile. Well unless you have a main PvE charecter who you've invested alot of time and effort into, such as my main who has ALL skills unlocked for her (both elite and normal) and 12 different sets of elite armour and numerous weapons and focus items. the code card for the music actually has a link written on it for another website. You go there and download the music, I believe; rather then unlocked on your account, the music is added into your game from there. When you go to the site listed and sign up for an account, the key will give you a free download for the listed product. You download the file, and it will install the music into GW for you. After that, just play as normal, and all should be fine.--Pyron Sy 03:46, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Cant pass out the loading screen

OK, so i was banned for a total of 72 hours and i got no freaking idea why i was banned i was just running a mission with some henchies then BAM!@!@! i was kicked from the server and when i tried to log back in and it said "Your account has been suspended from Guild Wars for a breach of tje User Agreement and/or Rules of Conduct. You will be able to join the game in approximatelt 26hours. Short answer: Yes...

Long answer: Yes, but you will have to get access to House zu Heltzer, which is a good few missions and quests in the story (and also requires that you obtain 10,000 Kurzick faction). And if you are looking to get Elite Kurzick Armor, you'll need to get even further. Also, there is no way to skip through the story. So you will be able to get it, but you have quite a bit to do first (and then you have to buy it!). Biscuits 12:16, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

To note, you don't need the 10,000 Kurzick Faction to get the normal Kurzick Armor; you need the faction for the "Befriending the Kurzicks" quest, which lets you progress beyond HzH, but you can buy the armor while you're in HzH. Armour Cap

I know the cap is +25 for stacking skills, which basically makes more than one worthless, but what if someone has cracked armour? Is the cap then +45? It should be but this whole nerf doesn't make sense so I doubt it. If I have 80 base armour, then get cracked armour, I now have 60. If I use Watch Yourself! for 20 armour, and then I use Stand Your Ground for +24 armour, does watch yourself cancel out cracked armour and I now have 104 armour? 58.106.236.226 09:02, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

afaik the cap remains even with cracked armor. but you can use single skills (*points to "Save Yourselves!"*) to increase armor even more, so you still get more than your basic armor. - Y0_ich_halt 14:30, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

If it's in an explorable area, it could likely be a skill effect instead of armor, such as Flame Djinn's Haste. There's no other fiery armor set I can think of besides Destroyer Gauntlets. Calor - talk 15:37, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

More than likely it is the Divine Aura, that is a bonus given to people who bought the Prophecies Collector's Edition. It is not tied to any specific armor, and there is no way to get it any more (unless you buy the Prophecies collector's edition). Biscuits 17:35, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

If it says that you have router problems then there is most likely a problem with your internet service provider. A slow internet doesn't prevent playing GW, since even slow modem users are known to play. -- (gem / talk) 23:12, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

The term "playing" is used very loosely is Gem's suggestion, as you will have severe lag, even after running -image and using the lowest quality everything. Playing with a connection that slow severely diminishes the quality of the game, as cutscenes are chopped up, and it's quite difficult to tell when to use skills, and almost impossible to interrupt. I would suggest getting a fast computer with a good connection, or getting something similar to DSL. Calor - talk 02:01, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

I played GW for about 6 months on a dial up connection. The only difference I see with my current connection is loading places/updates for the first time. To answer your question, it is possible to play GW with a dial up internet. I personally didn't have to do anything special or different when installing the game aside from wait a really long time. Hall of Monument - "Resilience" - prestige armour sets.

Can someone please clarify, to save your prestige armour in the Hall of Monuments, i have read that you can not save Deldrimor armour, but does your set of armour has to be a single complete armour set. ie. no mix and match, are you not allowed to get boots from one place, a top from else where, and so on, to make up your own set of prestige armour to save in the HALL. Non Stacking Runes

I know that if I have two Runes of Air magic the penalties will be combined and I will only receive the higher of the two. Will two magic runes stack if they are not of the same elemental type?

For example: Rune of Major Air Magic -and- Rune of Major Fire Magic

I expect the outcome to be: +2 Air magic and +2 Fire magic with a -70 health penalty.

Yes, the "non-stacking" only applies to runes of the same attribute. Fire Magic, Air Magic, Water Magic, Energy Storage... they're all separate attributes, and stack normally. (to be technical, they're not really "stacking" at all, because they're affecting totally separate attributes.) Are you talking about the Enchanted in Dragon's Lair? They have a high Armor rating and Endure Pain. There is no "better" elemental damage for these, you just need to grind out the fight, as eight people can easily defeat any single foe. Calor - talk 04:59, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

OP: no, Enchanted in the deserts of Proficies ascension part ive tested, their highly resistant to fire and earth. conversely they take full damage from lighting just as a normal thought, lighting is most effective against high armor

quitting my guild

I wish to quit my guild but since i last logged in everyone else has quit and GW has auto-designated me leader. If you are the last member of the guild, there should be an option in the guild window (G) for disbanding the guild. Just select it and the guild will be disbanded, kicking you out (remember that the guild hall and everything on it will be lost).--Fighterdoken 06:00, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Obtaining Heroes in Nightfall

ok so ive been lookin for heros on guild wars NF ive been having issues knowing were to get the majority of them the lastone i got was melonni and ive been trying to mission after it but im not good enough yet ive been playing about 2 weeks of the game i understand alot of it just not enough could i get like a list or something to help me find the heros? A few more heroes come about from later missions, and some (Zenmai and Olias) come from Prophecies and Factions, respectively. Also, since some do not play a major role in the story line you have to do side quests to get them. I had the same problem of not being able to get the heroes I wanted, and if you enmd up beating nightfall when you have beat the big bad boss at the end you go to what I guess you would call the credits or congratulations area. From there, along the path you will see all of the possible heroes and they will have the green exclamation point over their head and will give you rather simple quests for aquiring them. Also, The Heroes Wiki page has a list of the available heroes. Cick their name and the subsequent page should tell you how and where to aquire them. Hopefully that helps. I was in the arena and I saw a level 10 guy with a level 20 pet. (a wolf)

Check out the Wolf page. Take note, though, that when you charm a pet it is level 5 (or level 2, depends on the pet). I don't know how he could've gotten his pet to level 20 without leveling himself to 20 as well. -- br12 • (talk) • 15:40, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

IIRC, in Southern Shiverpeaks, there is the tamable Elder Wolf around Thul The Bull that starts at level 20, if that is the wolf mentioned. Possible run through to get access to charm the animal and healing while Charm Animal is active. — Gares 15:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

The easier way for a low level player to get a level 20 pet is throught death leveling. On Pre-Searing Ascalon you can hire a player to help you level a pet, so once it is high enough you can capture it. The downside is that people often use these pets for griefing on low level arenas instead of being used in PvE--Fighterdoken 17:24, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Umm... no. Time cards are only necessary when there's a subscription fee. GW does not use a subscription model, and GW2 has been stated to be without subscription as well. In Japan, you have two options: You can buy the box game and play it the same way we do here in North America, or you can pay online (like $1 or something a month). The latter model is more popular for games there, so that's why it's offered. So yeah, if you are in a country that happens to have the time card system, then assume it will be the same for GW2. Is there a quest list available for a character?

Is there a command (like '/quests') to let me know which quests a character has done? Is there anything other than a command?

Screenies

I know alot of people have already asked this but, im having a bit of a hard time accessing screenshots. I have asked quite a few people on the wiki, but it hasnt solved my problem yet. Im not blaming anyone, and i really appreciate ur help, but its just not working.

Ok, heres my situation: When i try to take a screenshot, it says its full, but i have no record of a screenshot being taken. As well as there is not screenshot folder in where i installed the game. Your screenshots should be saved in C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Screens. Check there. If the folder does not exist, create it. If it does exist, and it's empty, and it still isn't working, that that the folder is not read-only and that you are running Guild Wars as an administrator. I too have had this problem, though it has been with me since hard mode was introduced for GW:EN. I did contact support and, contrary to what others have been saying on this page, they were quite helpful and fast to respond. Ultimately though we could not find the cause of the problem. It seems to come and go and Guild Wars is the only game/service that has given me the trouble. While not really a help I felt since someone else is posting a similar problem hearing multiple reports would unearth some rare bug :)! Sanmigdark, try contacting support there were a number of things they took me through before we figured out we couldn't figure it out. They are helpful, at least the ones I spoke to (I even sent a report back to the manager commending them, and I never do that.) DelvingAngel 21:42, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

It depends on what build you're using, see Sword Hilt, Sword Pommel and Inscription for details on available sword bonuses. A max sword from a collector can generally be bought for under 1000 gold. Rarer swords are far more expensive, but they don't have better stats. The price of upgrade components varies a lot with rarity and desirability, some are so common they're considered junk and can be bought for several hundred gold if you find someone with them, while others can cost over 10,000. -- Gordon Ecker 09:25, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

A sword's maximum damage is 15-22, and the lowest requirement you can generally get is a requirement 9 (they come lower then that, but those are super-rare and not all the useful anyway). If you've got a sword with max damage and a low requirement, then you're set; everything else is mods, like extra health, extra damage, and so on.

Gordon lists a few good places to start looking for modifications and weapons... another note on the collector weapons, you can trade collectible items for those. Keep an eye out for NPCs with [Collector] next to their name, see what they're collecting and if they've got any swords.

And if you're looking for purely expensive swords, the Elemental Sword is quite rare and pretty, and can sell for over 100k gold. GW Drop Rates

Hello, Happy Holiday everyone. My question is...what is the drop rates on this game? For the past few days I've been farming for certain green drops and manage to get like 1 every four to five hours playing. X.x; I'm not kidding. Once I started farming at 8pm and managed to get the drop I needed like around 11pm. I've read on some websites that having 7 henchmen lower your drop rate, but I still wish to know what the drop rate is. I apologize if this question has already been asked and answered. As far as I know, no actual drop rate data is available, people just have estimates. I can tell you that the drop rate is split among all party members; with an eight-man group, the chance of you getting a drop is about one in eight, because the drop is assigned randomly. Which is why henchmen are a bad idea for farming, they can't get drops, but they still count as party members, so only a one-in-eight chance for you again. Like I said, I don't know the drop rate personally...

...Oh, one other thing I know is drops tend to get progressively worse over time, at least from my experience (not sure if this has changed recently). Meaning, kill a boss fifty times over, and the drop rate for him gets progressively worse. entering the under world

i have 1 question and it is this if u ascend on prophices is it possible to go to the under world? and yes i have beat the last mish and can do hard mode and if i can plz tell me were to go.(mega slaya)

after ascending, you can go to the temple of ages to go to the underworld, though the world does need the favor of the gods, and you must pay 1 platinum. you can also go to the Fissure of Woe from there. Guild Wars Guru has a very comprehensive green items price list. I personally use /Ritualist, simply for Death Pact Signet. My Necromancer just uses Necromancers skills for the most part. Mesmers are a good secondary as well though, Arcane Echo is good for a lot of the Necromancer's more powerful skills, and both classes share a love of Hexes and degeneration, which combos nicely. Aside from that, like Ab.er.rant said, it's generally your own play style and personal preference that decides it. Main advice would be: Don't hurry. Clear your way up to the altar, and use range spells (or aoe damage) to clear the altar group by group. That, or just run fast.--Fighterdoken 21:32, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Elite skill title bug and the NCsupport nightmare.

I have capped all 130 Canthan elites - I have checked this 5 times now from a variety of different sources. My title track says 119/120. Methinks mine is bugged?

Also, I cannot contact NCsupport. I fill out the 'ask a question' form on their site, and it asks me to create a new account (even though I filled out the form to let it know I had the PlayNC account already). Even if I try to fill out the new account option, it says that my account exists already, and I should try another email address. This is so frustrating - is there just a direct email address I can use?

You might consider a program such as mapping out to ensure you have all the elites. I don't recall any situation in Cantha where you can gain an elite and not have it count (whereas you can in Elona) so my first guess is that you're missing one. Lojiin 00:11, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Collector's Editions of Factions and Nightfall have exclusive minipets; some minipets came from magazines, and the majority come from Birthday Presents (when a character of yours reaches a year old, you get a random minipet in a Birthday Present item).

Items are expensive because of inflation. Gold selling sites get most of their gold from bot farming. Bot farming increases the amount of gold in circulation without increasing the amount of rare items, causing inflation, and gold selling allows people to accumulate huge amounts of gold, allowing them to drive up the prices of extremely rare items. I see his point, but his ban is deserved. Things which are advertised in game get bans for people, that's a little sloppy to allow the in game advertisement in the first place. And he is also right about being put on an unfair playing field, my Guild Leader and some of the officers were VERY rich, they even paid people for faction donations to keep us in a town owning alliance. They had all the elite armour and a myriad of req 8 weapons etc. I recently found out he was banned for a week for buying gold. My first thought was worrying I might be banned for faction farming and accepting his bought gold, although this is not an uncommon occurance and we were unaware he bought it. The point is this guy played for a long time with all the gear I work hard to obtain and the game did nothing to stop him. When it finally did I found out he got a 1 week ban and that was it, he still has all his uber gear. I could farm for a week and still not get the benefit he got from his gold buying, this is the second time he has been banned as well. If you want to get gear fast, buy A LOT of gold in one go, buy all your gear, take your weeks ban and be happy because you saved yourself time. Anon

There have been ome cases recently where people have been banned because they have been thoughts of as being part of goldbuying. All of them have been banned though. I contacted support a while ago to ask if I can get banned for accepting large gold sums as reward for running if the customer has bought that gold (and I'm not aware of it). I am Trying to build a 600 monk and Smiter combo using a hero to enchant myself. I have never done this before and dont know how to go around the fact that my hero will not hold an enchantment on me. If you disable the heroes enchantment with shift+click on the skill he wont remove that enchantment, but you need to manually force him to use it on you. -- (gem / talk) 07:42, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

royal tomb of primeval king

In the "elite mission" section, the faq said that the 3 mesmer bosses at the end of the 4th stage of the tomb of the primeval king are supposed to drop at least 1 green item. But, 2 times with heros/henchies i got absolutly nothing from those bosses. Is it a badluck or a bug? Thank you for your help. --209.5.96.146 13:11, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

They drop at least one item, not atleast one item for each person. The rest of your party got all of them. I was playing as an orders necro for a B/P team once and that happened to me. - HeWhoIsPale 13:16, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

To elaborate, since heroes/henchies take their own share of the loot (which you never end up seeing), and the greens that drop are randomly assigned with repetition possible (i.e. the same person can get multiple items, and some can get none), what happened was that all of the greens, when randomly assigned, were assigned to henchies/heroes and not you. Yup, just bad luck. They drop 2 each, for a total of six. In a party of eight, most should get one and someone might get several. Backsword 14:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

what are those boxes where ur face is on top of ur inventory screen?

every time i open my inventory screen or my skill log i see my chars face is in a little box and there are four boxes like that but my chars face is only in one what are those boxes for anyway???--Killerwolf999

If or when you get hero companions, their faces will be in the other boxes, allowing you to select them. Backsword 14:42, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
