Missing Primary Quests
I've been playing for a few days, and got to post searing, did the Piken Square quests and the Flame Temple Corridor and so on, but...
I've run out of quests. Or so it seems. I have no primary quest, and while I can talk to NPCs in various areas (such as Flaming Sceptre Mage Danaan) who go through the quest assignment dialogue (for the Stormcaller), no quest appears in my Quest List. I've explored to Borlis Pass, met up with Beccum Reedly and the same thing happens - it goes through the quest assignment dialogue, but no quest appears. My friend, who is also playing with me, is having the same problem.

The part after I make the character but before i play is slow is it meant that way and IM not sure if I was spose to choose nightfall. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:207.254.248.167 .
- The first time you play can be slow as the client needs to download the necessary files for wherever you're loading into for the first time, especially if you're going into a campaign you didn't install with. You can actually pre-download all the files first before playing, see Special commands and look for "-image" for how to do it. -- ab.er.rant 04:04, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Sunspear Promotion Points
I am currently a rank 7 Sunspear General and I would like to increase to rank 8-I think I need 1,200 more promotion points to reach that level. I have completed all of the primary quests in Nightfall and Eye of The North. How do I get to a rank General 8? I haven't done the quest "finding a purpose" yet in nightfall or challenge quest. Does this make a difference? Or should I just be concerned with promotion points in Eye of The North? 74.229.228.95 15:01, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- To max out Sunspear, what I did was go to the outpost right in between Kourna and The Desolation- Gate of Desolation. Turn it to hard mode, exit with axe warriors and paragons, get the bonus from the shrine and hop in the wurms. Ride around the east side of the map and head north, taking out the 3-4 mobs of the undead. When you hit 25 undead kills, you should be straight north of Vahlen. Go destroy his mob. All in all, it should take 4-5 minutes and net you ~520 points. When I did this, I was getting about 7000 points an hour. -elviondale (tahlk) 15:49, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure I got shedloads of Sunspear points from LB/SS farming in 5-man HM teams from Ruins of Sahlaja. If you know know what it is, just turn up and join someone advertising it, you'll get the point quick enough. :) Biscuits 21:36, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
How do i get to play 2 GW at once?
Can someone plz help me cause i have to GW accounts and i want to play them at the same time but i cant cause i only have one computer so what should i do to play them both? Plz help me plz?
- there's four things you can do: a) accept that you can't play them at the same time, b) buy another pc, c) get a friend's pc or d) make your own operating system that allows you to run guild wars on the same pc twice. - Y0_ich_halt 18:56, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I remeber once someone said how to play both GW accounts at once, it had to deal with deleting ur cookies but i cant remeber?
- don't need to add a new topic :) deleting cookies won't help much for gw since it doesn't have anything to do with your browser. to play two accounts, you'd need to run guild wars twice, which normal operating systems (or at least windows) will never do. one way i can think of might be changing the coding a bit, so you actually have two different guild wars on the pc which you can run at the same time, but that would be more than illegal afaik. - Y0_ich_halt 19:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Boss-like foes and HP regeneration
Do monsters at the end of dungeons have natural hp regeneration? I remember that Zoldark the Unholy from Vloxen Excavations didn't regen during the fight, but is it something unique to him, or do all boss-like foes share this 'feature'? --Torins 19:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- The reason Zoldark doesnt regenerate is because he isnt really classified as a boss. Most real bosses i now do. I havent yet found one that doesnt regenerate health. --Burning Freebies 21:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think so far Rotscale is the only acception to the rule of non bosses with regen --Sumta 04:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

- Just to note there, Eloc's example is a sarcastic one (I hope). W/Mo's with Mending are a popular joke among players, as many newer players see the health regeneration from Mending and think of what a good deal it is, when in reality, the points they spend to make it effective (and the energy they lose by using it) mostly serves to dampen their own overall effectiveness as a Warrior. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 07:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

zephyr hedger
I'm on the Koss's Elixir quest in nightfall. I'm supposed to be slaying this thing called a Zephyr Hedger.. problem is, it's ridiculously powerful. It spams Lightning Strike and Lightning Bolt and Lightning Surge, which somehow do over 150 damage per hit (not including the extra "moving" damage from Bolt). How is this even possible?! My level 17 heroes get killed in 1 hit (60% death penalty from trying to kill off its minions under 2-hit-kill fire from the boss), so it's impossible to kill. What am I supposed to do? - But doesn't armor take damage off the base damage of the attack? As in, the only way Lightning Strike will actually do 65 damage (20 air magic) is if the target has 0 armor or the attack has 100% armor penetration? - Not to mention, bosses (and some boss-like foes) deal extra damage with some skills. Protective Spirit is a must-have for guys like that generally, Heros use it wonderfully as well. And yes, all damage levels out at 60 armor; While Invoke Lightning does it's listed damage against a foe with 60AL, I've done tests involving 0AL, some skills to reach -40AL, and landed hits with the same skill for about 700+ damage. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:14, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Demons
Are the demons in Guild Wars from Christian religon or are they monsters that were made up by the creators of Guild Wars? Also is Guild Wars apropriate for an 11 year old to play? I am a christian so I am picky when demons are in the game.
- Some have some trivia meaning to them, but mainly made up by the designers. For example, Abbadon as a Hebrew word translates to doom/hell. Also, anyone under 13 is not allowed to play the game. Read the back of the Guild Wars box. — ク Eloc 貢 23:44, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- That said, we are not ArenaNet, so we can't tell you aren't allowed to play. I'm sure if you are willing for eleven year olds to play, that is entirely your decision.
- As Eloc said, the demons of the world of Guild Wars have some background to them which may have been inspired by ancient lore or religion. Some names were certainly inspired by names from religions or other cultural heritages. Abaddon is an example of that - in-game, Abaddon is, loosely put, a big bad person who wants the land to fall into "night".
- With your religious concerns, there is not much that will, or should, insult or harm an eleven year old's knowledge of Christianity. It is, after all, a game rated T for Teen. However, the Guild Wars community can often be a bad one. While there is an in-game filter to censor any "bad language", that option can easily be overrided in the options menu. It is up to the person playing to decide whether or not they want to see the language. While many of the community are willing to help players or give them a few tips, there are a few exceptions.
- The game itself is a good one a lot of fun, and there is nothing in the content that should harm an eleven year old. -- Brains12 • Talk • 00:09, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Lightbriger points not going up (in Titles window) when it seems like they should (i.e. when I kill elementals)
I have done massive searches on the Wiki. I want to bring up my Lightbringer points. I can still do this in human form (post Wurm ride) in the Mirror of Lyss area where there is ONE of the FEW remaining Master of Whispers sentries. (Everywhere else my game rank is too high.) When I farm there I can watch my LB points go up in my title window as I kill Djinns and the lion creatures. (Sorry don't have time to look up the proper nomenclature). The problem. Even in the sulfurous wastes and EVEN with a ghostly spirit that promises me a "bounty" on LB type creatures the numbers in my LB title window do NOT go up like they do when I am playing as a human. (I have been through the vortex and can now see how a high LB title would be very helpful.) Is this normal behavior for the game? I have never gotten out of one of these areas and seen a jump in points. You'd think killing elementals would be.... well. elementary and add to the LB title but it doesn't. The Wurms are so much more powerful, quick and profitable. Doing it the manual way in human form (the only way that seems to work after my first Wurm ride, could take weeks of solid and dull "play" just to reach the L5. I can't imagine how long it would take to get to level 8, months if I did nothing else. to get to level 8. If anyone can shed some light on this, is it a problem or is this just the way the game is designed? (Gosh, I really hope it is not the latter of the two.) If you've had this problem please write. - Just to expand on this. Unlike other more traditional MMORPGs where they use character level to determine character strength, Guild Wars does not go down that path. Level is not as important as your skill set. A GW character is allowed to bring 8 skills from among over a thousand available skills into whatever you're attempting to do, be it missions, quests, or just heading out into explorable areas for a run. Your skill set and your personal experience with your the skills you bring and your character is what determines how good you are, not many levels you've managed to grind. -- ab.er.rant 05:20, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- You can reach level 20 fairly quickly, but getting your hands on an effective and powerful set of skills generally takes longer; it ends up coming down to player skill rather then dedication, in the long run. Experience over EXP, to put it simply. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:44, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Nightfall bonus music keys
Hello. I purchased the Nightfall expansion Collector's Edition awhile ago (well, a very long while ago). I lose the paper it comes on often, but when I manage to find it again I always try to find the answer to my question, with no avail. Anyway, my question is: How in the name of Hades and Hellfire do I use the bonus music keys for Nightfall CE? I try to add the key onto my account in the Add Access Key section of the game, but the key isn't long enough to be valid. Any help on this would be much appreciated, as it periodically drives me nuts. Thank you for your time.--74.237.87.124 23:09, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

heroes ascent
I am currently trying to reach hero battles thru zaishen challenge. I beat the scenario I pick and it says consecutive win(s)1. Then I pick a new battle and beat it. Afterwards it says consecutive win(s)1. I do this more than five times and it always says the same thing. What am I doing wrong?
- Sounds as if are still in the zashien challenge mission and not the elite zaishen challenge. In the "normal" challenge mission you can not win consecutive matches...but you do need to beat each team atleast once inorder to gain access to the zaishen elite. Then once you are there you can start a consectutive string of victories...although i am not sure that you can unlock hero's battle from there...Coridan 02:01, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- You only need to beat five of the six teams in Zaishen Challenge to get to Zaishen Elite.
- That's not how you unlock Hero Battles, though. Hero Battles is automatically available once you have at least three (3) Heros unlocked on a character.
- ...to note further, Hero Battles is not a part of Heroes Ascent. If you're trying to get the that, You'll want to look at the article for Heroes Ascent itself. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:36, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Choosing secondary profession
My character was created in Nightfall campaign, Dervish. I'm asked to choose a secondary profession at level 5 and after checking on this site I see that I can choose a secondary from any of the campaigns as long as that campaign is connected to my account. I have all of the campaigns and last expansion, Eye of the North.
My question is how do I choose Assassin as my secondary when the choice is not offered in game?
69.60.236.31 12:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- I believe that you'll be able to change your secondary profession to Assassin once you have opened up your Command Post, since there will be a profession changer there that gives you the option of Assassin as your secondary.. But choosing Assassin as your first secondary class is impossible I think.. Tribio talk 12:36, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Only characters in Factions can choose Ritualist or Assassin as a primary or secondary profession at the start; same goes for Dervish and Paragon in Nightfall. Once you get far enough in the game though (for you in Nightfall, when you finish the quest Hunted!), you'll be able to change your secondary profession; you're allowed to choose anything at that point, regardless of campaign. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
After you did the quest Hunted!, use the boat to travel to the Great Temple of Balthazar. There you will find a profession changer who can give you the assassin secondairy. You can't pick the assassin secondairy right away as a nightfall character. Morgoth Bauglyr 14:34, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

I have searched your WIKI up and down and can't find any way to get an answer for the following problem, which is=====>I can't get my armor infused because the game won't give me the quest to do. Eighter I was already in the outpost and turned it down or it never gave it to me. But I see no where it is listed on your WIKI. I can't finish some of my quests because I keep dieing to fast, because of this armor thing. How can I re-take this quest or mission what ever it is. Can you help PLEASE!!!!

Killing two birds with one stone
Well, I have two questions that I've always wondered about, but that aren't of grave importance. Just something I always wondered.
1) Why do ranger spirits always face East, no matter what direction you yourself are facing when you drop the spirit?
2) Who in the name of Hades is Rodgort (of Rodgort's Invocation and Mark of Rodgort fame)?

- I'm pretty sure the whole facing-East thing is tied in with the nature aspect in the first place; often, cultures have names for the different winds, be it the East Wind, North Wind, and so on. East wind for example shows a few examples.

Insignia Stacking
Here's an example: Undertaker's Insignia Health Below 80% Armor +5 Health Below 60% Armor +5 Health Below 40% Armor +5 Health Below 20% Armor +5
If you have this insignia on 2 pieces of armor, for example, would that effectively double?
--Norleas Scourge
- No, armor bonuses on insignia only affect specific hit locations. -- Gordon Ecker 01:53, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Which is why the Radiant and Survivor insignia, for example, give better stats on Chest and Leg pieces; because you have more chance of being hit there and are giving up the extra armor you could have put there instead (with Brawler's, say). Biscuits 09:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Abandon quests
If I have the choice between two quests and accidently select one for a hero I do not want, is it possible to abandon the quest in an outpost and go back to where the choice of quests originated for the heroes?--72.23.148.214 02:16, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, as long as it's the first quest. -- Gordon Ecker 02:24, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Yes, in the case of Jin / Sousuke, abandoning one quest should let you go back and pick the other. For Goren / Norgu, it should work the same. At no point should abandoning a quest make it impossible to finish it, so worse case scenario, you'll just have to get the same quest again (if it won't let you pick the other hero). -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:26, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was wrong. For Goren and Norgu, you can go back as long as you haven't finished Brains or Brawn. For Margrid the Sly and Master of Whispers, you can go back as long as you haven't finished For a Price or Secrets in the Shadow. For Jin and Sousuke, you can go back as long as you haven't accepted the reward for the second quest (Student Jin or Student Sousuke). -- Gordon Ecker 02:31, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

how can players stop people from saying about gold websites and people buying Guild Wars Accounts?

- As HeWhoIsPale already said, /report [player name] and report them for botting as the reason is they don't take notice is they are most likely botting. If you really don't want to see those messages anymore, add them to your ignore list. — ク Eloc 貢 01:12, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- You'll often notice those spammers in the same towns, always standing in the same spots, even when they change characters; that's a good indication that the character is a 'bot, and automated to run to a certain spot and spam. If you're not sure if someone's a bot, little details like that often tip them off (also, PMing them and getting no responses is another tip off). :P -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:34, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Hero Unlocking Via Balthazar Faction
If you unlock a hero on a character, is it only available to that specific character you unlocked it with? (Ex. I unlocked Melloni with a PvP character on accident. I also recieve Alocate Jin with this PvP character. Can I only use those heroes in PvP now?) -- 24.74.182.129 06:10, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- When unlocking heroes/runes/weapon mods/etc they only become available to any PvP characters you create. To be able to play with them in PvE you will have to get them with the respective chars, since heroes is a per-char thing. Unlocking them in PvP won't prevent you from getting them in PvE though. You just wouldn't get them automagically. — Galil 06:20, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

- All classes are equal, except for Mesmer which were designed to be able to beat anything. — ク Eloc 貢 01:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- For the original question, a bit more detail; Warriors can generally kill faster then Rangers, in pure strength; but that's where the Ranger's advantages come into play. The Ranger can kill a foe from such a distance as to make fighting back tough; Ranger's interruption skills, such as Distracting Shot, can disrupt spellcasters and even shut down a foe's healing skills if used correctly; and in a Warrior vs. Ranger matchup, the Ranger can take advantage of his range against the Warrior's need for melee distance, and basically run circles around his foe. That's not to say Warriors don't have strengths too, the Warrior will probably last very long against the Ranger.
- And just to note on Eloc's note, Mesmers are designed to shut down other players in all sorts of ways; while they can "beat" just about everything, actually killing them is a completely different story. Mesmer relies on outsmarting your foe, and not getting stuck in a fight you can't win; the Mesmer's lack of healing and defense makes it very hard to survive in a lot of situations. I believe Eloc's statement was made mainly in jest as well. :D -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

- Seeing as Maatu Keep is in Cantha, and Cantha is un-runnable, you'll have to play through the storyline until you get there. Look at this map to see where it is. — Galil 18:00, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Two clients running on one PC
How can i open up two different guild wars accounts at once, on the same computer?
- This is a bit of a grey area as running 2 instances of GW at the same times need various tinkering that might constitute a breach of the EULA. There are certain programs available that could possibly be called GWx2 or somesuch, but as that would obviously be a third-party program you would need to think before using it. --Snograt 20:49, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

- (Edit conflict) ::You are considered "Closer to the Stars" on completion of the Nahpui Quarter mission, I believe. --Snograt 21:11, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

glacial blade
i have not got the guild wars pe relese bonus pack and i want to get the glacial blade plz tell me how (any possibilaty) plz answer soon
- If you didn't get the pre-order pack you're out of luck. The Glacial Blade are customized to their creators and can't be used by anyone else. - HeWhoIsPale 21:23, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
cfan you not buy a pre ordered pack off someone who hasent opened it?
- You may be able too, but you run the risk that they reseeled it, ArenaNet does not support this. We are not arenanet, we won't tell you what to do, but I wouldn't trust anyone! RT | Talk 21:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
