User:Saxon/HoM Points for Dummies
Introduction[edit]
Introduction[edit]
Take a DEEP BREATH. This is my guide to help other players achieve their HoM goals, it's relatively short and will save you a lot of time.
Most people fall into one of two groups. Most players want to either achieve the first 30 points (unlocks all items) or all 50 points (unlocks all items and titles.) Decide which one you are, it will help you pace yourself. There are plenty of resources to help you achieve your goals, and the purpose of this guide is to list those resources and help you quickly reach your goals. Realistically, it takes most players 3-18 months to get 30-50 points. Don't get discouraged, just stay focused and have fun :) --Moto Saxon 02:53, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
About the HoM[edit]
The Hall of Monuments (HoM) is located in the Eye of the North (EotN) expansion. There are 5 Monuments in the HoM that players can dedicate their achievements to. These achievements give the player points. These points unlock unique items for their Guild Wars 2 account. Both the achievements and unlocked items are account based. There are a total of 50 points possible. Points 1-30 each reward an item. Unique titles are also unlocked at every 5th point (5,10,15...50). Because the achievements span all three campaigns and EotN, you can only get all 50 points if you own all of them.
Getting those Points![edit]
Getting Started - 8 Points[edit]
Make life easier, start by unlocking the map and heroes. Beat all 3 campaigns and EotN in NM, making sure to get all Masters Reward and Bonuses for each mission (for Protector titles/statues).
- Beat them in this order:
- Eye of the North (primary storyline guide)
- Perks: short, good heroes, 5 Monumental Tapestry for your HoM
- Nightfall (primary storyline guide)
- Perks: more heroes
- Factions (primary storyline guide) and Prophecies (primary storyline guide) in any order.
- Eye of the North (primary storyline guide)
Heroes and Pets - 8 Points[edit]
At this point you should have a minimum of 16 out of 26 required heroes. Now you need to:
- Recruit the other 10 heroes. All of your heroes (except M.O.X.) will need Hero armor before they can be added to your HoM.
- You can buy them all from other players, or farm them yourself from these locations:
- EotN heroes...
- 1-10 Deldrimor Armor Remnants from Slavers' Exile
- 1-10 Cloth of the Brotherhoods from Glint's Challenge
- All other heroes...
- 1-5 Stolen Sunspear Armors from Dajkah Inlet
- 1-5 Ancient Armor Remnants from Remains of Sahlahja
- 1-5 Mysterious Armor Pieces from The Shadow Nexus
- 1-15 Primeval Armor Remnants from the Domain of Anguish (builds for DoA: HM, NM, and Heroes)
- EotN heroes...
- You can buy them all from other players, or farm them yourself from these locations:
- Charm or pay to unlock the Black Moa, Imperial Phoenix, and Black Widow
- In the Zaishen Menagerie Grounds you will need to pay or death level all three pets to level 20 before you can dedicate them in your HoM (if you Charm the Black Moa and/or the Imperial Phoenix they will already be at level 20.)
- If death leveling, use this build (it should only take about 15 minutes.)
- In the Zaishen Menagerie Grounds you will need to pay or death level all three pets to level 20 before you can dedicate them in your HoM (if you Charm the Black Moa and/or the Imperial Phoenix they will already be at level 20.)
Weapons - 8 Points[edit]
- 1-13 Tormented Weapons
- 1-13 Oppressor Weapons
- Farm WiK and HotN (roughly enough Medals of Honor and War Supplies for two weapons per character).
- Farm War Supplies by doing the daily Wanted quests (after beating WiK) and have them crafted.
- Buy them from other players.
- 1-13 Destroyer Weapons
- Farm or buy the materials needed and have them crafted.
- Buy them from other players.
Minis - 8 Points[edit]
- 1 Unique Mini
- Random reward from Birthday Presents, Gifts of the Traveler, Underworld Chest, Hall of Heroes, Coffer of Whispers.
- Rare drop from White Mantle and Peacekeepers (during WiK).
- Black Moa Chick - a cross campaign scavenger hunt.
- Awarded, to players with the 100 best times for Rollerbeetle Racing.
- Buy an undedicated unique (green) mini from another player.
- 1 Rare Mini
- Random reward from Birthday Presents, Royal Gifts, Gifts of the Traveler, Underworld Chest, Zaishen Strongboxes and Lunar Fortunes.
- Buy an undedicated rare (gold) mini from another player.
- The other 48 minis
- The methods listed above.
- Most people buy unopened Birthday Presents or opened birthday minis from other players. Starting with 1st year minis first, as they are the cheapest (only 1st-5th year presents contain minis).
Armor - 8 Points[edit]
I'll be honest, you are going to need a lot of cash for these. To cut down on the cash needed, you can farm any required materials. The most costly needed materials will be:
- Ecto and Obby Shards (Obby Armor)
- Farm Ecto in the The Underworld using one of these builds: Ritualist, 2 Rangers, Warrior, Dervish.
- Farm Obby Shards in Fissure of Woe using one of these builds: Assassin, Elementalist, Warrior
- Sapphire and Rubys (Vabbian Armor)
- Jadeite Shards (Elite Luxon Armor) or Amber Chunks (Elite Kurz Armor)
- Farm Luxon faction to purchase Jadeite Shards
- VQ Mount Qinkai under the Blessing of the Luxons using this speed clear team build.
- Compete in Fort Aspenwood for Imperial faction which can be traded in for Luxon faction. (Some builds: Mesmer, Ranger, Ritualist 1 and 2, Elementalist, Monk.)
- Farm Kurzick Faction to purchase Amber Chunks
- VQ Morostav Trail under the Blessing of the Kurzicks using this speed clear team build.
- Compete in The Jade Quarry for Imperial faction which can be traded in for Kurzicks faction. (Some builds: Mesmer, Monk 12 and 3, Ranger.)
- Farm Luxon faction to purchase Jadeite Shards
Titles and Elite Missions - 10 Points[edit]
At this point you will only have some Titles and Elite missions left.
- Titles - A lot of the titles have synergy. Read this guide and plan ahead (not all titles need to be maxed for your HoM.)
- Elite missions:
- Sorrow's Furnace
- The Deep - Hero builds and PUG builds.
- Urgoz's Warren - PUG build.
- The Fissure of Woe - PUG build.
- Domain of Anguish - HM and NM PUG builds.
- Underworld - PUG build.
But I Only Want 30 Points[edit]
- 3 Points - Accounts linked.
- 5 Points - Beat all 3 campaigns, getting Protector title in at least two of them.
- 6 Points - 1 rare pet, M.O.X., and 8 more Heroes.
- 5 Points - 1 Tormented, Oppressor, and Destroyer weapon. Plus two more of your choice.
- 3 Points - 1 unique and 1 rare mini.
- 5 Points - 5 Prestigious armor sets (one must be Elite Luxon, Elite Kuzrick, Vabbian or Obby armor.) (Head gear not required.)
- 3 Points - Your choice of:
- PvP Zaishen title (200 zkeys for rank 3).
- 15 more Titles/Elite Missions of your choice.
- 10 more weapons.
