Dragon Festival 2008

Emperor Kisu requires the pleasure of your company at this year's annual Dragon Festival. The modern Dragon Festival commemorates all the trials and hardships that have threatened the Empire over the centuries, and honors the heroes who overcame them. Join your fellow adventurers at the Shing Jea Monastery during the July 4th weekend to celebrate Cantha's glorious history and its even more promising future.
This year's Dragon Festival features some of the most popular events and mini-games from previous years. Participants earn Victory Tokens, which can be redeemed for treats such as red bean cakes and bottles of rice wine. Adventure-seekers can also reenact key moments and battles from Cantha's illustrious past.
On the last day of the festival, Emperor Kisu will make appearances within Shing Jea Monastery to kick off the final reenactment. In his infinite charity, the Emperor will also present a gift to all who have proven their festival spirit by collecting 250 Victory Tokens throughout the weekend: a new demonic mask, specially crafted for this year's Festival to commemorate Cantha's victory over the forces of evil that attacked the Festival in years past. Imperial Supply Master Kagno will remain in Shing Jea Monastery for one week following the festival to give attendees who missed the finale a chance to redeem their 250 Victory Tokens for the new mask.
The games and quest reenactments are available all weekend long, but missions and the finale occur on a set schedule. Missions are active for 30 minutes after the call to arms goes out, and Emperor Kisu will make scheduled appearances every two hours from 2:00 AM until 11:59 PM on Sunday, July 6.

Festival Rewards[edit]
Many quests and events reward players with special items only available during the festival. Here are some items you might be lucky enough to come across during the Dragon Festival:

Victory Token: Victory Tokens can be redeemed for a variety of items from Sheng Yi and Seiji (collector), who are located near the Xunlai in the Shing Jea Monastery, or from Zaishen Supply Masters in Lion's Arch, Kamadan, Jewel of Istan and the Great Temple of Balthazar. |

Sugary Blue Drink: When a Sugary Blue Drink is consumed, it gives a Sugar Jolt (for 2 minutes you move 50% faster). This item adds 1 point towards the Sweet Tooth title track. |

Bottle Rocket: Bottle rockets create a visual effect, visible for all players in a district to see and hear. The effect begins as a vertical smoke trail speeding up and away from the character, and then a small "pop" with a visible burst over the characters head. This item adds 1 point towards the Party Animal title track. |

Sparkler: Sparklers create a visual effect over the head of your character, visible for all players in a district. They last around 17 seconds. This item adds 1 point towards the Party Animal title track. |

Champagne Popper: Champagne Poppers create a visual effect in front of your character, visible for all players in a district to see and hear. The effect starts as a "pop" and the instantaneous appearance of many small square pieces of orange/red confetti in front of the player, that then begin to slowly drift earthward. This item adds 1 point towards the Party Animal title track. |

Flask of Firewater: Flask of Firewater is an alcoholic drink. When consumed it will go towards attaining the Drunkard title track. Consuming this item will turn your screen red. |

Crème Brûlée: When consumed, Crème Brûlée enchants the user with Sugar Rush (for 10 minutes). This item can only be used in towns or outposts and will add 3 points towards the Sweet Tooth title track. |

Red Bean Cake: Red Bean Cakes are a type of food that cause the consumer to have a short Sugar Rush. This item will add 2 points towards the Sweet Tooth title track. |

Bottle of Rice Wine: A Bottle of Rice Wine is an alcoholic drink. You will need to drink 3 Bottles of Rice Wine in 1 minute to get drunk and gain points towards the Drunkard title track. |

- This year instead of Festival Prizes dropping from sky, they appeared in your inventory.
- Players were awarded a number of Festival Prizes during a finale, one prize appeared in your inventory every 65-70 seconds. The number of prizes seems to have been random, with reports ranging from 6-28 in a single visit, but 12 or 13 being most common.
