Background[edit]
Foe changes: As soon as you complete the first quest, spawns of some areas in Cantha will change to fit the new story:
|
- To begin the story, speak with Initiate Zei Ri, who can be found on the lower level of Kaineng Center.
- The first twelve quests in the storyline consist of the Ministry of Purity sending you to cleanse areas of the Afflicted.
- The next five quests involve fighting Am Fah and Jade Brotherhood on behalf of the ministry.
- The story jumps in a new direction, with seven quests that have you defending various unaligned groups across Cantha.
- The next four quests involve defending the Angchu from various threats in Kaineng City and Shing Jea Island.
- The next six quests involve defending Cantha from various threats in Kaineng City and Shing Jea Island.
- You confront the end-storyline boss in the final quest.
Preparation[edit]
In order to progress through the full main storyline, you must have access to the following explorable areas:
- All zones on Shing Jea Island (requires Minister Cho's Estate and Zen Daijun).
- Rhea's Crater and Silent Surf (requires Gyala Hatchery or access to the Luxon outpost for Unwaking Waters).
- Morostav Trail and Mourning Veil Falls (requires The Eternal Grove or access to the Kurzick outpost for Unwaking Waters).
General suggestions[edit]
- See also: Soul Explosion
- Martial professions will suffer if they choose to remain within melee range of Afflicted foes.
- Be prepared to deal with enchantment removal skills often deployed by foes (such as Dark Soul Explosion); non-Dervish party members should avoid using enchantments.
- Although there are plenty of corpses, many of the Necromancers carry minion stealing skills; bring anti-summon skills and use caution bringing minion masters.
- Exercise proper PvE tactics at all times. Be careful not to over-aggro: plenty of groups overlap with patrol paths.
- Threat assessment
- Target Afflicted Necromancers and Afflicted Monks early: they heal and dish out considerable area of effect (AoE) damage.
- Target Afflicted Rangers and Afflicted Ritualists last: their deaths can destroy all of your summoned creatures.
- Target Jade Brotherhood Warriors early: their area of effect (AoE) damage can decimate your party.
- Target Sensali Mesmers early: their area of effect (AoE) interrupts can shutdown all of your allies.
- Recommended skills
- Winds of Change foes are easy to ball up: bring area of effect (AoE) skills, including Panic and Ray of Judgment.
- Winds of Change allied NPCs frequently appear: bring area of effect (AoE) protection and healing skills (so that your allies benefit), including Shelter and Union.
- Winds of Change objectives can require protection of allies: bringing Blood is Power or minions allows you to exploit NPC's AI, thereby allowing them to be lead to safety.
- Winds of Change features numerous hostile spirits and minions: bring anti-summon skills to help take them down quickly, including Spiritual Pain and Consume Soul.
