- DOCUMENT PURPOSE: This is to give a better overview of the available skills in the early stages of the game, since there are many different skill trainers and their available skills do NOT HAVE an existing page on the wiki; in particular the pages for Firstwatch Serigo and Michiko do not display the skills that they provide as they omit all skills from previously available skill trainers. This means that as a
In particular under the TYRIA and CANTHA sections below, there is a surprisingly large amount of skills available (much more than the initially visible skills when looking at the pages for Serigo and Michiko.
Todo to test the builds[edit]
Warning: Don't forget to test the theory in practice |
- For a breif test; Put these builds on regular heroes; just pick any character who has the easiest obtainable heroes: (No elite skills aside from the easily accessible ones).
- Warrior: Jora / Koss
- Ranger: Pyre Fierceshot / Acolyte Jin
- Monk: Ogden
- Necromancer: Olias / Livia
- Elementalist: Vekk
- Mesmer: Gwen
- What to DO with the team
- Strongly consider using Double Dragon on most of the players, as this can levreage the fact thet the heroes cannot use PvE skills, but double dragon can be used since it is massively boosted by Ebon Standard of Honor.
- Just playing a few missions should be enough to get a basic idea of how strong the builds are.
COMPILATION : The best skills available[edit]
Suggestion: Just as a general reference (the main content should be listed on the build pages), pick out the 8-10 best skills overall (for each profession or in each relevant attribute) from the three categories
- Lion's Arch + Kaineng Center
- Kamadan, including the 2 Hero skill trainers.
- Eye of the North (The outpost), plus the hero skill trainer(s).
Lion's Arch & Kaineng Center[edit]
- Troll Unungent, Storm Chaser, Distracting Shot, Whirling Defense, Lightning Reflexes, Point Blank Shot
- Water Magic (To replace the Fire build against the destroyer mission): Water Attunement, Deep Freeze (To prevent retreat when spamming snow stor.), Rust, Blurred Vision.
- Icy Prism; Questionable since Rust and Snow Storm already take up much of the energy. But it can be good since it is affected by Elemental Attunement unlike snow Storm
- Ice Spikes; Questionable; Far inferior to Rudt in terms of damage/energy ratio.
- General Remarks
- At the time of writing (after considerable "research", seems that the most effective use of the ranger is to play a fire magic build utilizing Double Dragon cast on the rangers pet; The ranger skills themselves doesn't seem very impressive (though they might be needed for certain destroyer Mission).
Getting Dwaynas Kiss from Graven images is likely a great idea given the large amount of Enchantments;
- Monk spams Healing Breeze, Spotless mind & soul, Patient Spirit.
- Necro spams a bunch of Protection spells.
- Elementalists use Double Dragon, Attunement and Optionally Aura of Restoration
- Warrior maintains e.g holy Veil/ SoH on themselves.
- Additionally the pary has limited hex removals (hard to use)
- NOTE: this also means that the necro should use it; Assuming thr target has 3 Enchantments/Hexes (which based on thr above is a CONSEEVATIVE estimate) Deaynas kiss is superior to gift of Health.

- Patient Spirit, Spotless Mind, Spotless Soul. (Are all basically no-brainers); this strongly suggests that skills like Healing Seeed have no place on the bar given that the bar also needs space for pve skills.
