Let's see who of us can make bold and daring predictions about this year's 3rd Birthday Miniatures! I'll post my predictions, and add more as they occur to me. To be fair, I have not asked the designers for inside info! I hope you'll join in, too, and share your thoughts. It's not a competition, it's not a survey or a poll, but at the end of the day, this page could be a historical reference that will give you the satisfaction of knowing how attuned you are with the design team. And hey, that's pretty cool. :D

My bold predictions for the 2008 Miniatures:

  • Mad King Thorn -- Part history, part legend; MKT, you're funny as all get out, and "you've got a pumpkin on your head, my lord!"
  • Ooze -- Oh, please, please, please! The movement, the sound, the humour -- it's all there.
  • River Drake -- Hey, I;ve wanted one in plushie form since 2004, why not a mini?
  • Ruby Djinn -- I think they've lovely in form and in the wonderful way they waft around.
  • Roaring Ether -- Their leonine looks and glowing fiery effects are just the thing for a tasty miniature.
  • Rift Warden -- For us old-timers, fond memories of Tomb of the Primeval Kings makes the idea of a mini-Rift especially sweet.
  • Rudi -- from the tip of his antlers, through his glowing nose, to his furry hooves, this guy rocks!
  • Freezie -- Ahhh, but I see a pattern here! Maybe I'm too sentimental about the holidays? Still, this guy could be good addition!
  • Dredge -- I think this could look great as a miniature.
  • King Jalis Ironhammer -- This is a question, because he's already so diminutive, he'd be a mini mini. ;)
  • Hylek Cuicana -- It'll kill Froggie for me to say this, but I don't think that we'll ever see a miniature of The Frog, so this distant (very distant!) relative may do. (I know there's a Heket, but this guy is cuter.)
  • Skeleton -- Just some sort of standard skeleton would be nice. You cannot go wrong with anything skull-ish or skeleton-related!

A Mini Glint, Drakkar or EVEN Primordus(If Possible) would a be Good Idea ^-^ Everyone Likes Mini Dragons and they would do anything for a mini Dragon Collection. Personally I still would like a mini-pet bag that holds one of each mini-pet (functioning like a cross between the incubator kit and the material storage panel) but it would be account based and on the Character Inventory Panel so that you can use any mini pet when you want Chik En 21:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I think it would be totally awesome to make it so there's a Minipet Merchant in major cities. Not to buy mainstream minipets, but instead to have a list of minipets you can buy, maybe generated by "capturing" a certain monster, like skill capping. Or another idea my friends and I have discussed is to have a character minipet. Charge a set amount for a merchant to make a minipet of your character, then you could make a bunch of mini <add your GW name here> and give 'em to your friends so they'll never be without their favorite <add your character's profession here> :P --71.237.221.84 20:29, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Raptor Hatchling -really nice model,would look great
  • Smite Crawler -For all those fond memories of uw.
  • Doylak Master -They look real nice and remind me of shiverpeaks.
  • Ooze -kinda a given :P.
  • kraken -would look very pawnage :P.
  • Maw the Mountain Heart or any other shiverpeak wurm- would be a really nice gold one :P.
  • Ice Elemental -heheh one of the first creatures i ever saw in gw, would be nice.
  • Mantid Drone -one of the first as well, plus the insect area is kinda untouched so far, could be one :P.
  • Obsidian Drake -fow area is untouched so far as well.
  • Hellhound -really awesome skin,but unlikely since alrdy 2 undead minis.
  • Afflicted Assasin -most awesome of all the afflicted XD.
  • Ferothrax -they hurt so i would like a mini who could strike fear in people.
  • Rinkhal Monitor -they look so pawnage, go go cobra-bug-lizard thingies ^^!

  • Dolyak - I really hope for just the animal, no dolyak rider please.
  • Dervish Form - One of the five dervish embodiments of the gods, I hope for Dwayna or Balthazar
  • Jora/Norn - Jora or any other Norn model would be cool.
  • Ooze - If for no other reason than to be able to have ooze parades in town with the normal sized one in the lead.
  • Raptor
  • Dragon - It would be fun to get a teaser for GW2 in the form of a mini dragon that is going to be in the upcoming sequel.
  • Sylvari - Same reason as the dragon, not to mention it would be nice to have a better idea of what they will look like.
  • Flesh Golem
  • Alesia
  • Devona - The coolest of the Ascalon Chosen, would be cool if you could have her with a sword in each hand like in the trailer.
  • Golem - One of the coolest Asuran inventions, great with kids.

  • Oh wow, yeah the Horadric Cube would be AWESOME add to the game. Maybe a crafter from Gwen could make them ? Id even ask Blizzard if they would let us use the name to pay homage to one of the coolest and funnest games, one for sure to inspire this game and its makers.   • Abomination (a rather unknown, yet nice looking, minion-like creature)
  • Avalanche (one of the bigger pets, Tormented Land with a cool snow-covered shell)
  • Dark Flame Dryder (there are no insects yet, these have a nice model - i'd advice to remove their equipped Staff
  • either Dolyak Master or Stone Summit Heretic (i'd already have liked to see them since the first annul series :P) or Stone Summit Arcanist
  • Mad King's Guard (a transmorgified player and this would suit great together)
  • Grentch (another even-only creature. these goblin-like guys would be awesome - in case they won't destroy ohter birthday presents :P)
  • Frost Wurm (yes, i'd like to see Worms for the third year. stationary? well, not actually if they burrow into the earth, in this case they only show a dusty cloud: Character stands: Wurm. Character walks: could)
  • either Budger Blackpowder or Jalis Ironhammer (we need a Dwarf Model without beasts imo, in case one of the stone summit models would become a miniature, deldrimor dwaves would be a nice counterpart, especially those guys)
  • Junundu Young (would still be as big as the players as a mini, and can also tunnel through rocky terrain ;))
  • either Shadow Beast (used by several models, possibly also called "Nightmare") or Azure Shadow
  • Shiro'ken Mesmer (like the Ruby Djinn or Bone Dragon nothing particular special, but a great model)
  • Rabbit (yay, the second most fearsome creature after Gwen, so it has to be gold at least)

I possibly missed some ideas i came up with, however i browsed the list to remember old ideas and get inspired by new ones...some ideas would have been too similar somehow, and as i couldn't figure out which one could be better, i added those all as one point :P
What i didn't include in the table:at the beginning i wanted to propose either Crystal Guardian or Flowstone Elemental or a classic (Siege) Ice Golem, then i thought a Mad King's Guards could possibly be the best of those Elementals. (And in in fact quite sure Glint will be part of the third annul series, and actually suppose that she will even be the green :P)
Finally, i did not suggest any GW2 proposals.

  • Krait - Major enemy group not yet a mini
  • Simian - Same as above
  • Dwarf - We have an Asura, we have Charr, we have humans, and we can't really have Sylvari yet unless A.net plans to reveal them like they revealed the Asura. We need a mini dwarf.
  • Ooze - Needs to be in it
  • Raptor - See Krait and Simian
  • Stone Elemental - Or any other Old-style elemental. They're one of the first enemies a lot of us saw.
  • Skale - THE first enemy seen by any person who started with Proph. 2 sets come and gone and not a single mini yet.
  • Drake - Same reason as most of these.
  • Rift Warden (ToPK kind) PLEASE? I miss getting groups together at the ToPK for HoH. Hero's Ascent doesn't do the same thing. This is a bit of nostalgia.
  • Margonite - Shocks me that this isn't here.
  • Grentch - Complete the holiday set
  • Abbadon - It just seems so natural. I was kinda surprised we didn't get one before.

Lot of nostalgia in this list. Early enemies, Rifts, the first farming spot (Lightning Drakes in Gates of Kryta. First big farming spot of release GW) Hope I get some right! Marin Alacet 01:34, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I actually find it really unlikely we'll ever get Abbadon as a mini. [SPOILER] He's just a floating head and arms... while that's impressive when he's looming over a black void, it would look really silly floating around in Kamadan. --Mme. Donelle 02:23, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

One of my favourite of all characters is Dwayna. I think the art is beautiful and I love the sparkly effects. Even if we don't do the five, six, eleventeen gods and demi-gods, I would love to see Dwayna as a miniature. -- Gaile 18:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I suppose that this is more of a wishlist type of thing, though I did, for the most part, take out ones that I thought would be overkill, since there are some of the same type (e.g. dinos).

  • Flesh Golem (from Animate Flesh Golem): - My Necro would <3 it. I've wanted one ever since getting the skill for some reason.
  • Ooze: How could it not get in? >.> A bunch of people have been saying that they want a mini of this every since they came out before GWEN.
  • Shadow Army: Abyssal (though roughly a reskinned Troll) or a Shadow Beast would be interesting. Other elite areas already have their representation, though Kanaxai isn't a birthday mini :(.
  • Krait Neoss/Arcanoss: They just look awesome, and there are A LOT in some Asura areas.
  • Flowstone Elemental: Again, awesomeness. :P Lok The Mischievous is really shiny...
  • Rainbow Phoenix: It seems to make sense, but I guess that it'd be a bit too big (not that minis are
